I was lucky enough to see this concert twice. With as great as it is to be able to watch and hear it again, it's nothing compared to being there! I've been to many concerts from these years, other PF as well, and nothing compared to the sound in this concert. We all came out of it silent, mouths open, and WTF did we just experience face! Actually felt the music for days! Glad to see you younger generation appreciate the insane amount of talent on that stage and in their music!
I was at one of the London gigs, when the mirror ball opened my wife and I sat there gobsmacked, tears in our eyes and the hair standing up on the back of our necks. An incredible experience. Try watching The Great Gig in the Sky from the same gig. Mindblowing.
Thank you so much for reacting to this. I was in high school here in North Carolina when this song first came out in 1979. I remember it well. My girlfriend and I at the time loved attending concerts. It was one of the things we loved doing together. My wife loved concerts as well during that time. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I can not describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, and the music was spectacular. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.
If you truly love music you have love Pink Floyd. This is four master musicians and song writers that didn't just change rock but really changed music.
You’re right - it is an epic performance- it really doesn’t get any better than that. Great reaction, thank you! ‘Sorrow’ from that same concert is another amazing track.
I dont believe that there is a band today that can put on a triple AAA live production concert of this caliber. A quick glance at the history in the top charts and shelf life of their music is a testament to their brilliance and musical capabilies. Nice reaction!
Eversince i got the album "Wish You Were Here" as a present in 1975 (when i was 12 years old), i´ve been the biggest floyd- (and gilmour-) fan in the world. But let me say this: RAMMSTEIN today (wether you like their music or not) has a stage production of the same caliber, touring with 1350 metric tons of equipment. For example, watch Rammstein "Du Hast : Live Paris Official" or "Engel - Live from Madison Square Garden".
@@geraldherrmann787 Granted RAMMSTIEN puts on a big display show including pyrotechnics. While their success is great at over 10,000,000 albums sold ....we need to keep in mind that Pink Floyd has sold over 250,000,000 albums. There is a reason for that.
@@richardmodglin3900 i would never compare them quality-wise, music, lyrics, concepts, influence. for me personally, floyd is the all time greatest band of them all, of course way over rammstein. but the topic was "I dont believe that there is a band today that can put on a triple AAA live production concert of this caliber", and i would argue that rammstein (rum-shtine) is def on a comparable level.
There were not many at this caliber back in the day either. There were a lot more that were a lost closer....but Floyd has always been in a league all their own. I have seen WAY too many really good artists than any one person has a right to .........and for me Floyd is the pinnacle.
I remember watching Rick Wakeman on TV many years ago. He was being praised for the speed he could play the keyboard. His reply was "Anyone can play fast, that's just a matter of practice. It's playing slowly that takes talent". I think there's a lot of truth in that.
I was at their Pulse concert tour in Vancouver. The one thing you miss watching this video is that you not only hear the fantastic music, you see the marvelous light show (when the ball was lit up and started spinning you felt like you were slowly floating through space; you didn't want to close your eyes), the thing you miss is that you felt the music in your body. When we all left the arena after the show the whole audience slowly walked out of there and no one said a word for about 10 minutes because we were blown away.
"When we all left the arena after the show the whole audience slowly walked out of there and no one said a word for about 10 minutes because we were blown away." I can only imagine that but I still get chills.
This song is the one that hits me the hardest. As someone with chronic neuromuscular pain it just digs into my heart and soul. It was written by Roger Waters from the time he was given a pain shot for abdominal pain which turned out to be hepatitis right before going on stage. It reminded him of as a child how he felt when he became very ill. In a way, just listening to Pink Floyd can be a form of pain relief. What can you say about David Gilmore? It's David Gilmore!
You just can't beat the 60', 70's and 80's Rock Bands, and the amazing amount of high quality music that was available. I saw Pink Floyd in '94' at the Oakland Coliseum. They had designated seating on the football field for about 300 lucky fans. On the folding chair was a 14"×14" Pink Floyd seat cushion. We were 4 or 5 rows back from the stage. GOOSEBUMPS FOR DAYS. I think it was $35.00 a ticket. My brother in law got us ours from his auto dealership. Shedmen rock.
"Pink Floyd makes you trip." Most definitely! There's an ethereal quality about this one that takes you to a different place mood-wise every time you hear it.
Yep, I was the first 2 times I saw them, did a little acid both times but only enough to feel great, a wariness at times for visuals effects but after experiencing the full effects previously, I knew enough on how to just have a good time. Lord, was it ever, both in 1975 & 1977, the 75 highlights were Dark Side of the Moon in it's entirety and an encore of Echoes, then in 77 I saw Animals and Wish You Were Here expanded and in their entirety, those sets were 50+ minutes each, Gilmour's guitar and Wright's keyboards were as great as any I have ever heard, both performances were mind blowing and you can hear both sets here at You Tube, Gilmour's leads in Animals made you gasp, that guy has the hands of God himself for probing your soul in audio nirvana. Check them out, Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Check out "Run Like Hell" from this same concert. After seeing it, you will understand how they dared to follow "Comfortably Numb" with it. Simply amazing watching the Guitar Wizard in his element.
I caught Pink Floyd in Kansas City, Arrowhead Stadium, in the same year as this, really the same concert. This was the standout song of the show, and for the rest of the decade, I could give myself goosebumps AT WILL, by thinking of this performance.
Thanks for your reaction. That was an amazing 3 hours show. I saw the same here back in the summer of 1994 & Comfortably nimb was the highlight of the entire show. The huge disco ball light covered the entire Olympic stadium, here in Montreal, I'll never forget this.Have a nice day.
The light show for that concert was beyond amazing. The most spectacular thing I've ever witnessed. And the icing on the cake was the music from the greatest rock bank ever!!!
Comfortably Numb is one of the most extraordinary pieces of music ever composed. I always felt that towards the end, it became the funeral march of a lost and tormented soul. All of the anguish and regret of something glimpsed and lost is distilled and channeled into one extended searing cry. This never gets old. Ever. It speaks to something that we all know and cannot be expressed in any other way. Music - real music is a language all its own. Extraordinary musicians like David Gilmour can communicate their inner experiences as few can today. Gilmour’s guitar appears to be connected directly to his soul. Some musicians can manage that for a few moments. For Gilmour, it’s his natural state of being. It is unmistakable and cannot be faked.
Haha! I loved you face, when the disco ball started to open up! This is not only epic, some say the second solo of comfortably numb on the pulse tour was and still is the best guitar solo ever played on this planet! For more like this: High hopes, Keep Talking or Shine on you crazy diamond (all of the same concert). This will still be played on hundreds of years…!
After all these years, I still think Gilmour's guitar solo in this performance is the best in history. When Dark Side of the Moon came out, I thought I was in heaven. When The Wall came out, I knew it.
April 28th Irving Stadium, Dallas Texas a day I'll never forget! Most amazing concert ever. I was off stage left first row of stadium seats. Greatest experience ever!!!
Great job ! "On The Turning Away"...LIVE. You won't be disappointed ! Also "Shine on You Crazy Diamond parts I-V and VI-IX" Studio version. Again you won't be disappointed !
I was there the night that was filmed. It's a concert that will live with me till my dying day. I was 23 back then. Also seen them 6 weeks earlier in Rotterdam, Holland.
Best vid on YT. Except maybe the restored and re-edited version. It has the proper aspect ratio; not cutting off the top and bottom. I like to see it all. Especially the full disco ball
I was worked at the Post Office on graveyard shift in the early '90's. It was a large building with 7 floors. It was a Sunday morning around 3 AM and I was up on the top floor working by myself emptying mail bags onto a conveyor belt. I could just barely hear Comfortably Numb travelling through the ventilation pipes from somewhere else in the building. It was awesome and spooky at the same time.
Millie! 😘 I'm so glad this Pink Floyd reaction video is back. I enjoy everything you do. I recently saw a video of the best guitar solos of all time and finally this solo of Comfortably Numb by the best guitarist ever made it to number 1. 🥂 Cheers. Love you Millie ❣️

Watch "Sorrow", "High Hopes", "Another Brick in the Wall", "Run Like Hell", "Coming Back to Life" all from the same PULSE Concert. You will be blown away...
I saw this Pulse tour in Mexico City 94, and it changed my life. The ball opens at the end of the song, and inside there´s a pink diamond, representing the hearth of Syd Barret... Dave Mustaine said that what greatest guitarrists do playing the whole arm of the guitar, David Gilmour was able to do it playing one single note

They are Amazing Live Band... And David Gilmore is from another WORLD 🌎.... And like you said he takes you for a TRIP... 😎🎸🎶
You are right Pink Floyd does get you high. You should listen to them while driving at high speed down long lonely roads late at nite that is what I was doing in the 70's and 80's.
Wish you were here is a good Pink Floyd Album. They just put out The Dark Side of the Moon (50th Anniversary) [Remastered] Then there is the movie (The Wall). Came out in 1982. Then Roger Waters put out Us + Them. songs from the dark side of the moon , the wall , Animals , wish you were here and more.
Best guitar solo ever laid down. Period. Bar none. The song itself, as well as this performance, is a masterpiece.
David Gilmour does not simply play the guitar. He tells a story with it.
RIP Richard Wright.
Amen, brother.
RIP Claudia Fontaine too

Got to see them in Dever at Mile High Stadium for this tour. Frigging awesome.
I saw them in Foxboro Mass on this tour and my mouth still opens when I see these videos and relive the memories.

Best guitar solo ever!
Pink floyd are goats. I grew up with David Gilmore and still love all the albums. They don’t age or go out of date.
I'm 71 years old and I listen to Pink Floyd since 55 years! This song is the BEST of all time!
Goosebumps everytime.
Easily my favorite song from the concert.

Millie, You've already posted you reaction to this song...TWICE. I've watched both of them.
Just got that concert in the post this morning as a dobble DVD
High hopes from the same concert, WOW
Many guitarists have voted this the most beautiful guitar solo ever made.
Hi coming from England when I was in my Teens Growing up listening to PINK FLOYD I am now retired still listening to proper music all rock No wishy-washy crap🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎹🎹👍👍👍👍👍👍
The Great gig in the Sky is well worth listening too
For me, this is soooooooo much better than the studio version. The "je ne sais quoi" elevates it far above the studio release.
Gig goer from the days when PF were supporting Hendrix, and along the way Stones, Clapton, Elton, Tina, McCartney, Genesis, Zep, Oasis, etc. The PF Earls Court gigs were the best I have ever attended
I seen that Concert in OHIO STATE STADIUM PACKED OVER 150 Thousand People Easy. Greatest Concert Ever BEST Light Show Ever. Any chance you listen to a song try to watch the Live Version. Earls court London 1994. Back home were there from pink Floyd are a British sensation David gilmore is a genius best solo ever 🇬🇧🇬🇧
I saw this Tour, the whole Video is good, lot's of material...
One of the reasons Marko Hietala sang High Hopes as a tribute to this amazing band - even the circle of lights, remember?
Best ever solo ever by David
You are right
Pink Floyd does get you high. You should listen to them while driving at high speed down long lonely roads late at nite that is what I was doing in the 70's and 80's.
Wish you were here is a good Pink Floyd Album. They just put out The Dark Side of the Moon (50th Anniversary) [Remastered]
Then there is the movie (The Wall). Came out in 1982. Then Roger Waters put out Us + Them. songs from the dark side of the
moon , the wall , Animals , wish you were here and more.
They were also known for there epic light shows at there live concerts, great stuff
The discography of Pink Floyd is mind numbing.
They say you don't need weed to experience Pink Floyd.
You do, however, need Pink Floyd to _fully_ experience weed. ;-]
That last one may just be the Greatest live Guitar Solo EVER... and we got a blond girl talking over it... DOH!
A legend reacting to a legend,wow👏👏👏thanks & hi,Millie... 👉👉👉from a legend subscriber✌✌✌
You have a winner 🎉 . I'm tripping as well 😂❤
I saw this tour about 6 months before this show on their North American leg of this tour
Hes the GOAT best guitar player ever
