THANK YOU FOR NOT PAUSING during the solo!!!!! You get an A!
She learned that lesson the hard way after she paused the video for Metallica's "Master of Puppets" during the epic guitar solo from Kirk Hammett.
@@TokusatsuGamingfan I did not know that. Thanks! However other reactors apparently don't learn the first go around!
Exactly. One does not interrupt a David Gilmour solo.
Amen.
Agreed, it is not often that people listen without interruption, when the music is the thing we are really interested in. It demonstrates a level of maturity, well done.
And there you have it, the best guitar solo of all time.
Best two :)
all time? um-------------------that's your take---don't get me wrong--it's great
@@michaelbeerbados3291 let me guess, you must be one of those people who thinks shredding is better huh? lol
Absolutely
Maybe not the best guitar solo, but certainly one of the most beautiful and touching ones
I'm a 68 year old aging hippie. I stumbled on your videos quite by accident. It is SOO freaking wonderful for me to see younger people learning about old school rock. I grew up with these guys, and I love seeing a new generation appreciating them. Thanks for this reaction! And thanks for letting the solo play all the way to the end.
You nailed it!
Masterpieces never get old, it's like Beethove or Mozart.
I'm getting ready to turn 66 years old and been listening to Pink Floyd since 68 and can tell you this song still gives me chills and brings a tear to my eyes
I'm with you. Knocking on the door of 70 yeas old, Pink Floyd 'still' does it to me. Damm I wish I could get those days back but alas!
71, and yes.
Sixty-five here. I had a near mystical experience with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. A group of us were sitting on the beach in California waiting to catch a midnight movie at a local theater (the Strand Theatre, Ocean Beach). We were listening to the car stereo blast Dark Side of the Moon. Then, like magic, I experience my first and only grunion run. I didn't know if it was real or if the music and weed were just that good. Thousands of little silver fish were flopping around on the beach with Pink Floyd playing in the background. It was surreal. After that, the movie was a little anti-climactic.
I absolutely love pink Floyd, it was a bit weird how I got into them, I am 38, I have 2 older brothers, 1 10 years older an the other 14 years older, when I was really young like 5 6 years old we all used to share a bedroom an my brothers who's 10 years older used to play pink Floyd all the time an I listened constantly curious as to who they were now 33 years later I still listen to them everyday
I'm 37 and came across this when I was 29. It brings tears to my eyes whenever I listen to it. Can't even describe why or how, simply out of this world
All the years humans have been around and we were lucky enough to be alive when this masterpiece was made.
and I was lucky to see this concert live, NewOrleans.
You don't just listen to Pink Floyd. You feel Pink Floyd !!!
So true!
I knock the Pink Floyd song
Welcome to the machine

Indeed.
Absolutely !!!
all the way to your soul!
“On the turning away “you won’t be disappointed
This one. Yes
Someone once said the genius of David Gilmour is his ability to play the notes you didn't know you needed to hear until you hear him play them. I agree completely. And it's very odd: he somehow manages to make each note sound both fresh and inevitable at the same time. That's musicianship of a very high order indeed. Rare.
I remember someone asking Eric Clapton what it's like being the best guitarist and he replied with ' I don't know you better ask David Gilmour '
Can't remember the source but read someone saying most brilliant guitarists make you go WOW but David Gilmour makes you cry
Sheer brilliance
You don't listen to Gilmour's guitar playing, you live it, you breathe it, and it reaches the soul, not the ears. Its perfection. Polly is said to have stated that David expresses feelings and emotions best when he plays his guitar - that is when the true song comes forth. The finest guitarist ever IMHO, and Rolling Stone agrees lol
you are right it's not the hearing of his music that is so amazing it's that you feel his music and you start realizing just what he's feeling at that time
When a solo is more effective than any words could ever be
Bingo !
This brought tears to my eyes. I don't know how many times I rolled my eyes growing up having to watch this concert with my dad. Now that he's gone, I watch it every few months.
Listening to this is like having an outerbody experience.
I was fortunate enough to be in the audience to witness this - can’t believe it is nearly 30 years ago - still remember it so clearly - without doubt the greatest concert i have ever been to. Another amazing thing was they played the whole of Dark Side of the Moon .
I was there too! Unforgetable!
Hi guys I was there also, I was there the night some of the seating collapsed, and we had to come for another show was awesome
@@stephenferris5018 my friend was there that night as well. Glad you still got to see it
This has my favorite guitar solo. It's not flashy, but it's all soul.
@Sam David Gilmour puts his heart and soul into his guitar solos. Van Halen was all flash bang, no soul. You can feel Gimours guitar.
@@brianbumgardner8704 not sure where you got the name Sam from?
@@maximuslongrod6361 should have been Sir David Gilmour.
@@brianbumgardner8704 ahhh gotcha
I cry every time I hear this version of the song. - and that means hundreds of times. Gilmour makes his guitar cry out; wail; moan. It moves me soooo much.
I'm a 65 Year Old man And me too every time
I'm 63. Saw The Wall in 1980-ish in LA. Must've played album 1000 times. Cry every time; So emotional.
Same . I cry every time and have heard this version hundreds of times . 💫✨
Yes, not many people can make the guitar sing.
Probably the most motionless audience ever, that's because they're either in tears or their jaws are on the floor, absolute masterclass!
Or they are jus frying their brains out .. in tears with their jaws on the floor!
works the same at a King crimson gig, just so good,
No mobile phones to hold up filming it. Just enjoying the experience and being in the moment.
Or they're all on acid.
75 soon. Listened to my sisters n brothers music in the 50s. PINK FLOYD is the GREATEST BAND EVER.
Absolutely.
My late father took me to one of these residency gigs at Earls Court when I was 14. He didn’t cry at all in his life until this solo came on.
I went to the opening night where the seating collapsed and the concert was halted a few minutes in (we were all evacuated). They arranged an extra date so that we were able to see the concert. Spectacular. Treasured memories 🍻
Yeah, I also went to this at Earls Court, I think it was over 3 nights and this I believe was the night I was there sat to the left of the stage in the stands. It’s only looking you realise what a life experience it was.
@@pacomacman it was 15 nights in total at Earl’s Court! 🍻
I understand why !
That's right. I was there the following evening so technically it was the opening night.
Pink Floyd have some of the best light and laser shows, ever. I was lucky to see them in concert many years ago.
So was I lol, tripping out on 3.5 grams of magic mushrooms
@@ninjavigilante5311 it works even without, and maybe better!!!!!
@@endapian have u tried it? I been to pink Floyd several times but being on mushrooms is a whole another level.. being sober is jus boring.
@@ninjavigilante5311 try meditation.....
I'm sorry, you're wrong. The have the best laser light shows. Nobody comes close.
David does'nt need to sing, his guitar does it. No one can play like this. Put on your headphones, lay down and drift away. Thank you Lily Jane for doing this masterpiece ❤❤❤
Watching you smile from ear to ear enjoying Pink Floyd said it all! When you can & you're alone grab you headphones, kick back and listen to the whole studio album "The Dark Side of the Moon"! You won't regret it! Enjoy! For your future vides live is always the way to go. imho
Glad to see. You rocking some Pink floyd 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
The perfect live performance. If a guitar solo could bring an audience to tears, that was it.
When that second Gilmour solo begins, all of rock music gets quiet to listen. Greatness flowed from David that day.
One of the greatest songs of all time and, a live performance that is sheer perfection.
There aren’t enough words to sum up how incredible this truly is.
This Pulse concert is the greatest gig ever performed by any rock band, period. You should react to more songs from this concert, any song will do since they're all great. But there are some standouts: Shine On You Crazy Diamond, High Hopes, Wish You Were Here ... and then upping the tempo: Keep Talking, Sorrow, One of These Days, and Run Like Hell. Reacting to all these is a great way to get to know Pink Floyd better.
I was there, at Earl's Court. Completely mesmerising.
My favorite from this performance is Brain Damage/Eclipse. It just leaves me speechless.
@@ErikBlankenship For me, 'One of Those Days'. The intro on the base, so simple but the anticipation every time as Gilmour bulds it to a crescendo on the pedal steel, goosebumps!
High Hopes fantastically done
I saw the entire Pulse concert in the Montreal Olympic stadium May 22, 1994. Third time seeing them and they are the best live band ever.
I am a silver haired old fool, but this performance still gets to me. It was recorded about 10 miles from where I lived at the time, scope out the other songs recorded here at Pulse 1994. Friends of mine went to the concert and were speechless for hours afterwards.
I was at that Concert, and I couldn't speak for hours - I was totally mesmerised and left emotionally drained after the concert. I read somewhere that Gilmour's wife Polly said that he wasn't great at expressing himself with words, but put a guitar in his hands and he will tell you what he wants to say. I have just watched the "Pulse" recording for the 1000th time and it never gets old. He plays on the heart strings...........
Hours? DAYS! ;)
Im a 41 year old guy and I can rarely hear this song without tearing up, i get it. Its my emotional release.
Lilly, so nice to hear and see your enjoyment. I attended the concert in 94. It was the best moment of my life. I was wrecked for every other show after. Floyd is the top of the heap for music and performance. No one comes close.
🤘🤘🤘🔥probably my favorite Pink Floyd song
Everything Floyd played at Pulse was on another level - most excellent !!
The studio version of that second solo is, in my opinion, the most perfectly crafted solo ever put on tape. And then to be creative enough, and talented enough to keep the pieces in tact and make it that much better live is just...well, it's perfection.
Agreed!!!🐖
Check Andrei Korolev solo.
Classic Pink Floyd 💗 best music ever ♥️
That’s what happens. The first solo gets your attention the second one grabs your soul. They always say that you can enjoy Pink Floyd without drugs. But it’s impossible to truly enjoy drugs without Pink Floyd.
i say that the first solo is the second greatest solo of all time. The only one that beats it is the second solo, which is the greatest.
Taking a big rip and listening to the dark side of the moon in the dark is an experience no human should go without.
@@dustman96 try it with Echoes from the album Meddle, it'll take you to another World, another Dimension, another Life.
David Gilmour speaks with so much emotion through his Stratocaster, he makes his guitar cry, scream, wail and weep, like no other Rock guitarist!
His phrasing, and his 3 and 4 step bends are legendary, and at this point, 1994, he had been doing it with Pink Floyd for 28 years.
Everyone giggles at the tiny chime. Your comment that this song (and performance) will accompany us to the afterlife is priceless.
So uplifting seeing a whole new generation of Pink Floyd fans keeping their music alive. DSOTM & WYWH are timeless works of art that’ll last forever ❤
Those two albums are at the top of my list of all-time greatest rock albums. Insane-ly beautiful.
A few competitors at the top are, "Close to the Edge" by Yes, "In Search of the Lost Chord," by the Moody Blues, and "Duke" by Genesis.
Glad you enjoyed! Check out Time! Any Floyd, you can't go wrong with.....😎👍🍷🚬💕
"Time" was the one that got me in '73 when it came out. But "Comfortably Numb"? All PF is legendary, but that Pulse 94 performance was nothing short of other worldly. Lilly said it sounded like the music you hear when you're going to the afterlife. I don't think I ever heard it said more beautifully. And then one day I found, 50 years had got behind me...
Pink Floyd will definitely take you on a journey through an amazing rabbit hole. I would recommend "Sorrow" from the same Pulse show for similar guitar vibes for a future reaction. Anything from this concert is gold, really.
Sorrow 👍.
Sorrow is one of my all time favourite tracks by anyone ever.................
"Obscured By Clouds", please!
I had the privilege of seeing Pink Floyd live in1986 or 87. It was amazing.
61 years old and my feelings for this song only strengthen each time i hear it.
David Gilmour is one of my favorite guitarists of all time! Top 5 for me. Big influence on me and my playing!
My absolute favorite soloist
Gilmour, Knopfler, Lindsey Buckingham, Mike Oldfield, and Matt Bellamy for me.
My top 5 is easy, Hendrix, Gilmour, Page, Beck and Clapton. Rock On!
Dave, Blackmore and Tony Ionni are the biggest influences on my playing - Gilmour is what I have ever called The God of the Gaps, for he taught me it is the spaces where you *don't* play that make the music.
David Gilmour, Gary Moore, Billy Duffy, Paul Gilbert and Steve Morse for me
"Coming Back To Life" from the same Pulse concert is breathtaking!!!
I was lucky enough to watch the concert Pink Floyd gave in MX City as a part of the Pulse tour. At the end of this solo I couldn’t even clap or cheer, I was floored by the music this guys just did and the poetic powerhouse of the visuals. The biggest, baddest, greatest rock concert ever put on scene, second to none.
Listening to pink Floyd is feeling the music flow through you like a warm breeze lifting your soul up and floating with the wind.
'Rihanna's Super Bowl performance was legendary!'
Gimme a fucking break! These guys did this every night for a full tour, one of the shows which I saw in D.C. Incredible.
I was there as a young 18yr old. The whole gig was epic, there's no other word!
Got to see them in concert twice!
Both shows were UNBELIEVABLE!
One doesn't merely listen to Pink Floyd. One EXPERIENCES Pink Floyd. Welcome aboard.
The whole concert was perfect.
It's always wonderful to see a young person get captivated by Pink Floyd. I grew up with this stuff. So happy to see it appreciated by today's generation. Head on into this incredible rabbit hole Lilly xx
You ask what it was like to see him play live, you hit the nail on the head. I have seen PF a number of times live and it's taken weeks to come down to earth, to reality, to the point that it changes you. A Pink Floyd concert is something that we oldies who have seen them live can not explain the feeling to others.
Welcome to the world of the Pink Floyd and David Gilmour. You are in for a life-changing experience, there's no going back.
It's lovely to see the younger generation appreciating a world class band and making such heart felt comment s I hope one day soon you become a flodyian
Lately, there are so many UA-camrs reacting to this performance. It's the best for guitar work but I wonder how many reactors are really showing a genuine interest and how many have realised it leads to increased subscriber numbers.
Even if some reactors do go into it with that motivation, they come out at the end feeling the same way about the band as everyone else.
I am one of the lucky ones who saw this concert live in 1994 and it was absolutely fantastic, You can start by listening to the Darkside of the moon studio album and then check it live, it is included (entirely) on the pulse film, check also in one of these days, Sorrow, Run like hell yes what the hell the entire Pulse concert film is filled from start to finish with masterpieces.
Awwww lucky you.
I was there too.
Even outside the venue, you knew from miles away that there was a Pink Floyd Concert on. The powerful spotlights sweeping the clouds. There were the performers going up and down the lines of people - big burly guys in Dr.Marten Boots and pink tutus striking ballerina poses. Guys on wheeled stilts blowing whistles at people. I'll never forget that night.
I go back to that night every time i hear a song that was played at the concert (double encore)
I was there too. Best gig ever hands down. Was defo a major milestone in my life.
Saw this one live in Ohio Stadium right before graduating from OSU. Absolutely epic. This song makes me emotional every time, same with Time, Shine On.....absolute brilliance.
A Pink Floyd concert was not only what a rock and roll show should be, It's a life changing experience.
Just a fantastic band, I’m 72 and still listen to them all the time, also seen them live, mind blowing.
Keep enjoying this great music.
73 and will always feel that way.
I grew up on Pink Floyd
In 1973 I was recovering from wounds I received in Vietnam & I think it was the first album I ever bought, as crazy as this sounds I think it helped me heal not only my wounds but my idd ( IE mind)

Thank you for your service to our country. God bless you
Glad you're still with us and whole in spirit.
I saw this tour back in April, 1994 in San Diego, CA. Best concert I have ever or will ever see.
I saw that tour in Tampa. Took my little sister to it. To this day, she thanks me for taking her. It was an experience she’ll never forget. It’s one I’ll never forget
Yes, I can imagine what it was like to be in the audience and watch them live...I did it 6 times in my life. Starting in the early 1970's. And, you nailed it...I cry every time...from the amazing words and meaning, thru the always evident journey in their flawless performances. My favorite group of all time. Nobody comes close.
I've seen them 5 times and learned one thing after the first show. Bring a handkerchief. Don't go home with a wet shirt sleeve.
@@justsmitty1709 right on.
I saw this concert in Tampa and it was like nothing Ive ever seen since. The size of that stage was so massive. The sound system was so immersive. They had surround in a freaking football stadium.
I saw them in Philadelphia
This song, particularly this version, is just incredible.
It's a profound experience witnessing the best live solo of all time
Listening to Pink Floyd since 1973 when I was in the Dutch army and still play their music every day .
Please do "Echoes" live at Pompeii, 1971, when they were young. All the songs from the Pulse show are amazing. You might also think about doing their album "Dark Side of the Moon" in two reactions, side 1 and side 2. Same for their album "Wish You Were Here." Another great performance is "On the Turning Away" live in 1988. Great reaction and thank you for not pausing during David's guitar solo!
Yes ! 👍
comparez "echoes" pompei a la version live du concert de Gdansk, le dernier concert ou rick wright joue avec PF (il est décédé ensuite), c est un pur chef d oeuvre
Omigosh yes! Echoes is a must, but its like 25 mins (not a prob for me) Rick is amazing! Sorrow is still my fave for feeling tho
Floyd is one of those bands that are better live than the studio version. I have seen them twice....spiritual experiences....not just music. They channel the universe through them and outward in the sound of their music.
Just curious as to which tours you saw. For me it was Dark Side, Animals and this one. Cheers....
@@bazzer124 1987 Momentary Lapse of Reason tour....Pontiac Silverdome. I caught both shows. Lucky I bought both nights. One night they did the regular tour, and the second day was a very rare Dark Side concert playing the entire album. Did not know why my instincts told me to buy both nights tickets......till the show.
When a band sounds better live than a recording in a studio that is the sound of a true musician. I listen to David's live music over a studio edit every time.
I know what it is like. Saw them twice live in Europe when I was stationed over there. My absolute favorite live concert I have ever been to.
I was stood just under and to the left of that glitter ball on the second night of these gigs. We had no idea what it was until it lit up in this song. It's the closest you can come to feeling like you are floating in space without actually being there. By a distance, this is the best gig I have ever been to.
I could listen to David Gilmour solo all day and never get tired of it!
I saw them in 86'. The light show with the music just takes you away.....just an incredible show....luck to see them....good choice young lady
I saw that tour also, best concert I have been to
I was at this concert and it was easily the best concert I have ever been to and was such a profound experience it still seems like yesterday even though it's been 30 years. It's great to see a new generation discovering this incredible music.
A song you'd wish it would go on and on and on.....simply a masterpiece.
I was in the crowd! Not that recorded show - but I saw them live on that tour in 94 in Oakland, CA. The most magical performance i've ever witnessed. The closest i ever had to a religious experience. Will never forget it. Just epic greatness to experience. The greatest guitar solo ever played.
Some more from Pulse:
"Great Gig In the Sky" - this is a artistic adaptation of grieving anguish; initially conceived as an anti-war sentiment.
"Run Like Hell"
"Young Lust"
"Wish You Were Here"
"Hey You"
"Sorrow"
Yeah, the shortest 10 minutes I have experienced about 100 times now. This performance never gets old.
I saw this tour when they came to the US. When the concert ended my friend looked at me and she said, I'll never be able to explain this to anybody. That summed it up perfectly.
I saw this concert live infront of the stage, many years ago but still today, I can recall and enjoy every single second. Best concert I've ever seen! Sorry, because my english.😊
I think I speak for many people seeing this... but I am so @*$!ing jealous of you having been there... that must have been incredible.
@@andrewdavidson665 Floyd brought more people to space, than Nasa did 😉
Anything from this concert is mind blowing. Two of my favorites are High Hopes and Sorrow.
When Gilmore starts on the lap steel on "High Hopes", it is so ethereal. I was blessed to have been present at one of three concerts in Foxboro, MA in '94. I saw it with my 16 year old son. It truly was a magical night. Bragging rights.
Floyd always moves you, their lyrics and music get into your heart and soul.
I was one of the lucky ones , I was 33 and living in London and i managed to get 2 tickets
from a friend who couldn't go because of illness and me and my girlfriend went to what was the greatest concert I have ever seen , we didn't know at the time that it was being filmed to make the Pulse DVD but it was electrifying both in sound quality and the lighting show was stunning , I will never forget that that night for as long as I live
👍
Pink Floyd had the greatest light and laser show of any band before ad to this day in my humble opinion.
Awesome reaction, thanks. Other songs with great studio and live versions from Pink Floyd are Echoes & Live 1971 Pompeii, High Hopes & live pulse 1994 is a beautiful masterpiece, Another Brick In The Wall & also live pulse 1994, just to get you rolling
❤ it! Been listening to Pink for 40+ years and it never gets old or feels out of time.
Love this song and group. This performance is epic! David has the most emotionally eloquent guitar EVER! Expresses such chillness and such angst!.... If you're still on your Nightwish trip, check out their tribute to Pink Floyd - "High Hopes"! A great band offering a rare tribute to a great band (even the lighting!)! Even David Gilmour acknowledged it as top notch! edit- recommended Pink Floyd song "Hey You" or "One of My Turns" also from The Wall. - Maybe do the entire album as it is one complete story? You could do both the Pink Floyd live version of "High Hopes" and the Nightwish tribute version as a two-for?
Check out "The Great Gig in the Sky" from Dark Side of the Moon, and follow it up with the Pulse concert version.
One of the best solos ever. They did all that because they love their fans and we love them and are so thankful for the music and how it influenced our own lives and mentalities.
Great song, like you said it was knocking at your soul, let it in.
Once you do there is no turning back.
Your soul wants more and more and Pink Floyd delivers that.
When you get a chance, listen to the live version of “On The Turning Away”
You will not be disappointed.
Gilmour's solo's, especially this one, cannot leave you unmoved. However it happens, it evokes emotion. And what the emotions are is personal to you. A great example of the beauty of music.
I was there!!!! So,now you know I’m old 😂 It’s impossible to explain how Gilmour’s guitar sound can FILL an arena.Brought tears to my eyes😢
it is an absolute joy to see young people listening to and loving some of the greatest tunes ever made, the classics were chart songs when growing up, queueing for tickets outside the venue months before the gig, they were the days!!
What you witnessed here in these 12 minutes, is true greatness at work.
Masters of their art. Phenomenal
When you enter into the world of Pink Floyd music, you agree to be taken on a journey from which there is no return. Truly the greatest band of modern times, they're IMO, unsurpassed in tapping into the emotional centres of the brain.
Try listening to Echoes, both the studio version and the live at Pompeii version.
Enjoy your journey.
I actually just finished watching the entire concert... again. Then your video came up in the suggestions. If you get a chance, watch the whole thing. I got to see them in 1988 as a 14yo budding drummer and singer. Still hands down the best live performance I have ever seen out of hundreds of shows. Cheers!
I got to see them live in 1987 in Toronto and to this day this is by far the best concert I have been too
I was lucky enough to be at one of these concerts at Earl's Court in London...one of the Greatest experiences of my life hands down, I feel blessed to have witnessed it first hand 🙏❤
Pink Floyd is simply an experience like no other. I've seen this performance 1000 times and the guitar solo still gives me chills.
Songs I would recommend would be "Hey You" and also "Money".
I've seen, heard and EXPERIENCED Pink Floyd in concert. They were AMAZING live!🌟🌚🌝
I was in that crowd.
It was like a trip into a parallel universe. Gilmour and his guitar, other worldly. The whole band are phenomenal. I was honoured and very privileged to be in that space that night
I was lucky to be at that gig and you are right , Pink Floyd are at there best live. Would love to see your reaction to SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMONDS. 🤘
Comfortably Numb, especially through the Pulse concert, really is a healing type of song. The lyrics are telling you that he’s got nothing left on the inside - he’s comfortably numb and he doesn’t feel anything anymore. And then immediately after that comes this otherworldly guitar solo that tells the world how he REALLY feels. And anyone who has felt the same way immediately identifies.
All the tunes in the Pulse Concert are incredible. The studio version of Shine On You Crazy Diamond is epic.
