great tutorial on what not to do, nice to see you back, and you did do a good job in the end.👏👏👍👍👌
Thank you! Wasn’t originally meant to be a tutorial on what NOT to do but hey i’m glad to be back 😂
You’re making a great content. Editing is awesome and the explanation in step by step manner is very easy to understand.😊
Thank you so much!
Nobody’s perfect:)👍
You can say that again!
What wired was used? Like the big black cable thing 😅
lol you can use 8 gauge 4 wire copper for a 40amp circuit
Aluminum cable is bad. The surface corrodes when placed on copper.
A special paste is needed to protect the electrical connection from oxygen.
For 40 amps in Europe we use copper 6 to 10mm², AWG 9 or 7.
We use aluminum a lot here for ovens. My parents have had one in their house since the 80s with no Noalox. I think the situation depends. Plus aluminum wire manufacturers sometimes state NOT to use Noalox. So I think either is suitable
L I K E 👍👍 👍👍👍 🍀🍀 🍀🍀🍀🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thank you!
Why not no 8 wire ?
I like to spend money
Just missing the anti tip anchor
Great point! It is for sure good to have if there are kids or you are renting the place
6-6-6-6 SER aluminum is rated at 75C since 2017 NEC and rates to 55 amps.
Great information! For sure would use aluminum in the future but boy does this oven rip!
@@DownToTheFrame It has to be governed somehow otherwise you overdrive the heating elements and wear them out faster. I'm betting the listed max amperage is the most it's going to do regardless of wire. I just replaced my vintage 1956 ungrounded oven cable with SER, and I noticed that the hot wires coming off the plug posts were like 10ga max. Best thing about the SER - 50 feet was $65.
@@DownToTheFrame BTW which zip tie product did you use for cable support? I wound up using 1/2 inch EMT single hole straps - they fit nicely over the cable but I doubt they're UL listed for that application. But no way was I going to hammer in staples with my sub par nail-bending hammer technique.
Great tips! I used just standard size zip ties. I do use the pvc one holes sometimes. They are nice!
Why in the world would you switch from gas to electric? Gas stoves are much better.
Well I don’t agree with that statement but primary reason due to lack of vented hood and very sketchy propane lines. The house needs all the gas piping redone. So i’m reducing the need for gas.
Also you don't have to fix the ignition ever and will remove some inconsistencies you would have with gass stoves
Gas stoves are bad for your health like they can cause asthma, cancer and carbon monoxide poisoning.
Gas range is really bad for health, like it can cause asthma, cancer and carbon monoxide poisoning. It can also have gas leak hazard and it blow up your house.
@@somestuffaround Easier to clean the surface, better air quality in the house, lower heat generated in the room. My gas oven started leaking CO. Used electric in the past for four years, for these reasons, I love electric.
You could have wired it direct without the plug
haha technically yeah but for serviceability of it I would prefer a plug
@@DownToTheFrame they sure don't make appliances like they used to already serviced mine 2 for the same part
Yep! Always have to plan for failure!
