You are an absolute genius at explaining these concepts and giving us practical techniques. I love that you don't shy away from big bodies. You also use noticeably frank but kind terminology. Finally, it's clear that your goal is to help all women feel comfortable and confident (vs. any kind of desperation or making ourselves up just for the pleasure of men).
    Thank you so much. ❤

Thank you!!! You've covered every large-bust challenge without offering the same solution: wrap dresses. May I contribute? Minimizer bras are not your friend. They reduce the projection of your bust by lowering and re-distributing the volume towards your waist and sides. Unless you have a very long torso, the definition needed in the midsection will be completely lost. That photo of the woman in the plaid jacket 8:53 is the typical result. Also, be sure sleeves end way above or below the bustline to avoid widening that area. Excellent analysis, Aly, as always. Appreciate you!

Yes! Thank you for mentioning minimizer bras! I hate them lol... I used to wonder why I looked even Bigger once I put my clothes on and was so frustrated. They just made it look like 2 giant smashed pancakes on my chest 😭 I finally found my favorite bra and look much better.

I appreciate this comment! Though, i do wear a minimizer bra and ive had positive results from it. I think what saves me is that my natural waistline is roughly 5" lower than where the bra ends, so it seems to look more natural. And i love what you added about the sleeves! I never thought of that... no wonder i hate regular tshirt sleeves!

My only complaint is that you didn't hop in a time machine to tell my teenage self how to manage all this chest 35 years ago. LOL. Its taken me decades to sort of figure out a lot of these tips that you've been able to articulate so clearly. The double-bubble silhouette thing has been the unnameable bane of my existence for so long. Definitely love showing some wrist, neck, & ankle. Hopefully this wisdom will find some dearly developed teen and change the course of their life without the decades of disastrous trial and error. Thank you. :)

Also want to recommend alterations! If you start with something that has potential they can make such a big difference. So for example the clothes I get altered do suit an hourglass shape before being altered, they just aren’t as extreme as I need them to be. It’s much harder to alter something that isn’t even close to working!

Good topic to cover! I have a suggestion I've never seen to be spoken about. I have an S shape spine, so my stomach always sticks forward. It's not so obvious from the front, but really visible from the side. So when i wear a belt my stomach area appears even bigger. It haunts me. And i know I'm not the only one, so maybe you'll find a way to figure this out. Thank you, Aly!

Finally. I have never seen a useful video for larger breasted women. It is so much easier to dress when you don't have a heavy chest to consider. This advice was so good. I am very dmall backed, measured at a 30G, but even though I'm tiny, I loften ook huge in photos because people always take them from the chest up and miss the waist. I have to define my waist. I don't like showing cleavage though.
My favourite thing to fo is wearing heavier fabrics. I have some looser jumpers that drape over my hest and then glide over my waist, giving an elongated silhouette

    • @irnalonso

Showing a bit of your clavicule could help! It sounds like you may have beautiful delicate clavicules and neck. A not Deep V-neck or a something between crew neck and boat neck can help with the openess without showing cleavage at all and actually making you look your size in pictures!

Hi Aly!! Thank you for this video, it was terrific! I'm a short waist, big chest girl 36 D. And i can't wear flowers on my blouses (i look matronely). I also have difficulty with belts. I only use them lower (almost at my hip bone area) when i wear a blaser, knowing that i will not take it off. I like to wear dresses with nature patterns, V and square necks. That said, in the winter i wear lots of clothes that i can't get away in the spring/summer: pants. Mind you, I'm an hourglass figure and i have 52 kg (which is not much for my size: 1m63cm. If I try to wear heavy knits without thinking, i like become Spong Bob, reaaaaally fast.

  • @Dan_Chiron

4:46 This is the reason why I dislike high rise pants. You can see that the lady on the right is actually wearing the belt *at her waist level* , not above. Sometimes the torso is just that short; mine is like that on the pic (so much so that empire waist sometimes look like regular waist on me).
All that to say that if your natural waist is so high up in your torso, you have to _fake_ it's slightly below; for example (going back to pants) medium rise will look much better.

SD here. I need a medium or large when it comes to tops because of my large chest. But I'm really in general a size small everywhere else. The curves make that area an extra size up. The problem is there is then no waist emphasis w/o the belt, making it look like I'm wearing a potato sack. No shape just large looking. It's really best to waist cinch. Also some fabrics like thick crochet sweater, even waist cinching isn't enough. Fabrics matter too

For fall/winter, Cableknit sweaters work really well. They're stretchy enough to accommodate the chest but not too clinging in the waist. The knit pattern distracts the eye. Round neck and v next are flattering. I add a bold statement earring and bright makeup to draw attention to my face instead of my bust. You can wear them with any type of bottom and looks great with blue jeans and pants.
