- In this video I will show you how to make a multiple outlet Power distribution box (Power strip). It can be convenient for plugging in power tools, DJ equipment or anywhere you need multiple outlet extension cord.
They make receptacles with clamping terminals that work well with stranded or solid wire. That would make it so you don't need those fork terminals.
I don't believe "code" recommends using them...
There are reasons why the spade connectors on receptacles aren't up to code. Those reasons are too much trouble to enumerate here, but believe me, you are asking for trouble and for no good reason.

This assembly is illegal in the US. It is a multi-outlet assembly. Guess what? They are required to be tested and listed. You build one and someone else gets shocked, they can sue you and you will lose in court!
It's not illegal. Everything in here is UL. It's the same as installing any other outlet. Most electricians have made these, they're just not allowed for job sites
@@kevinlast3874 You can think whatever you want. Listed components for other purposes does not make a listed assembly. I have a similar assembly in my shop. I will not ever let anyone else use it. The last sentence in my comment is the important one. It was so that you know the risk.
@@KevinCoop1 he's right. I made six of these things to kill my dad in a "freak bathing accident" and my mom sued me for negligence. Was able to settle with her thank God. I got my murder trial next week wish me luck
