hey i just started my tight hamstring release journey. (srsly sitting with crossed legs hurts.) so i stretched and massaged for the day, the following day it was quite sore. should i wait until they heal or continue to stretch everyday?!

I do not have an exact advice for you as I am not a professional and can't clearly assess your situation, but I can share with you my own experience. If I feel soreness, I would identify how severe this soreness is and where is it coming from. If I feel confident enough, I would start the exercise and give it a try. Stay careful during the exercise and stop if needed. If the soreness comes with some level of pain, I would definitely rest, give it another day or two before I try again. Hope this helps!
I kinda injured the back of my knee while i was trying my splits. I felt like something snapped. Should i take a break for some time for this exercises?

Exactly! The main problem of not being able to sit in second is from sitting long hours, causing the tightness in the lower back and hip.
