I have common Bermuda and I'm in Charlotte NC, I have resodded areas with common Bermuda sod and cut at 2 inches...success. I'm now going to level and cut at 1.75 in...I have about 55k sqft of turf and I've seen miraculous results over a 2 year period. Full sun! U guys r spot on!!! I've been told to replace it but that cost is waaaay too much. I will embrace what I have and I've seen great results following your channel!!!

@TheLawnDad I live near Raleigh, NC and have Bermuda but the lawn is super un-level/bumpy from the way they laid the sod. Any tips for mowing an un-level lawn? The sod was only laid about 3 months ago so I wasn't sure if I should get some seed or sand to fill it in or if its too early for that. There are still some gaps between some of the sod strips so I as thinking I'd let them fill in a bit first.

Your Bermuda lawn is beautiful but it's such a complex grass type to maintain. I've been in Georgia for nearly 5 years now and I cannot get my Bermuda right to save my life. I miss my lush tall fescue that remains green all year long back in Maryland.

Sup man, I live in Northern VA with Kentucky grass. Can you do a video like this for Kentucky grass please?

What if I live in Texas where it is MEGA hot every day. I keep a raised bed garden and it's almost impossible to over water, is my Bermuda different because it's in the ground?

North Texas here! All you need is 1 to 1.5 inches per week, whether it's from rainfall or your irrigation system. Make sure you cycle and soak if you have clay soil.

Question. I have watched your video about the herbicides needed and I plan on getting those. Do I also need to scalp my bermuda as well and do I scalp before or after weed killer application?

I'm no pro, but I've gotten serious about my Bermuda the last couple years and have had some good success. Scalping is absolutely necessary at the beginning of every season once you see the grass starting to green up. Scalp it and bag it. This removes all the dormant grass and exposes the soil to the sun's heat which encourages growth. If you have a lot of weeds, I think you should manually pull as many of the big, broadleaf weeds that you can, if for no other reason than to spare the abuse to your mower blades. After that, do the scalp and apply a pre-emergent and a post emergent for whatever weeds have broken the surface. I neglected my lawn for the first 2 years after I bought my house, but after just one season of following basic guidelines like the ones in these videos (weed, water, mow, fertilize), I had many areas of my lawn that were very thick, green, healthy and beautiful in a short time. I'm amazed at how hardy and resilient Bermuda grass is. A little work will yield a lot of reward.

Of course my yard looks better than my neighbors. They are renters, at least I mow my WEEDS!
