I recently got a 2025 Ranger 1000 eps and LOVE IT! Had a 2014 Ranger 570 and decided it was time to upgrade and wanted to go bigger. The steering, gear shifter, and transmission are SMOOTH as can be.
If they ever figure out the clutch issues they will literally own tbe market. I’ve had three Rangers in 900-1000 and a couple North Stars. Everyone I’ve had has need a new clutch at 2500-3000 miles. Yes I use low and don’t abuse them. Luckily all have been covered under warranty but it’s just the fact they are gonna fail prematurely period. I have a 20 year old Grizzly we’ve never done anything to the belt/clutch and still runs great. Can’t tell me they can’t figure this out? New HD’s with steel belt will hopefully be better but only time will tell.
CF Moto has really pushed Polaris to up their quality game. The Ranger has been second fiddle to the Can-Am for some time and overpriced for what you get but they seem to have upped their game a bit. Now Can-Am has the poor-value-for-the-money crown - you'd be crazy to drop the $ on any Can-Am SxS without considering CFMoto, Segway or Polaris first. And this is from a BRP owner - they seem to be trying hard to price themselves out of the market.
Recently while at my dealership arguing about warranty issues on my 2023 Northstar (issues that one shouldn't need to argue over on a $28k machine), I discovered the Kawasaki Ridge. I could be swayed next time....
Be swayed, just bought one, still have my big game edition ranger, Ridge is better in every possible way, especially power and how smoothly it delivers it.
I looked into them but after seeing the price, I decided buying a use pickup and a cheap snow plow would be a much better choice. $16000 is a bit much for what you get.
Yep. My 2020 ranger has just under 400 hours and 4000 miles. Never been in mud just used on the farm…. Front drive shaft u joints went out, front lower control arm bushings, wheel bearings as well have been replaced already. Now the front end sounds like a bag of popcorn in the microwave 🤦♂️ engine has been solid and transmission but the rest of it doesn’t hold up well
It doesn’t have front drive shaft u-joints, it’s a cv style joint, and ur cv boot prolly got torn, and lost all the grease, not a manufacturing defect lolz
They haven't sorted the 4 wd rocker, when you lose grip you get diff lock on first notch of switch then 4 wd on second notch but it is still in diff lock when in 4 wd so killing all joints bushes and drive shafts as when you turn it puts extreme pressure on everything. Diff lock should be in second position and only use when last resort. Tractors automatically come out of diff lock when you hit brakes, ranger should be same.
New to this channel and really enjoy everyone’s input. Is there any chance someone can let me know the measurement on the Ranger Northstar XP Premium from the very front of the bull bar to the rear of the back tyre. I am limited on tray size to carry this unit which is 8 feet 6.5 inches. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Fanie.
No shortage of competition now especially at these prices no different from US automotive which still has even crazier high prices than UTVs but pure play BEVs starting to enter this segment as well backed by Zero Motorcycle product which is a proven player for small form factor bev with possibly many more en route so lower prices are definitely en route for those who will simply so say to the impulse buy. Dealerships are going to need to up their game to include charging infrastructure on site as a consequence or else lose that brand new and young and big spending market demographic. In the meantime and as a warning an actual brand new car now costs far less and for the latter these prices are not only falling but might be about to fall dramatically because of how low the price is for a Tesla Model 3 now quite suddenly. For those that do not like these crazy high prices and are right to say that i would however point out what people are paying for for a new BMW GS1300 motorcycle et al. Ain't no seat belt on one of those. People still buy them too tho and as fast as can be made. They have had to up their game as well of course as there is a crossover where people actually do realize that a two wheel drive all electric scooter is way more practical and safer than these motorcycles...and saves $25,000 US Dollars in purchasing indeed far more once taxes are included. That's real money as far am I'm concerned. How the Industry confronts this reality so far so "okay" but how the global automotive Industry is trying to compete with Tesla et al even in pure BEV (like Volkswagen) is most definitely in crisis so at least with something small such as this there is far more possibilities for the future than with the truly awesome complexity of ICE platform automotive, suv, truck and commercial vehicle. Best of luck to all as a consequence.
Good for recreation, but not a serious work machine since it has the smallest cargo box in the industry. They don't need the largest, but the smallest? Come on Polaris.
@@UTVDriver no sorry it has a 1500. Lb payload including the driver and a 1000 lb bed capacity and a 2000 lb tow capacity for a 2011 ranger xp 800, that’s why I bought it everything else had 500 lbs at ge time
I have a 2024 Ranger 1000 xp northstar cab , the doors suck!!!! driver door will not latch good and hard to shut.not good quailty for the price i paid. will not buy another one !!!!

How does a ecm mean reduce service. A computer doesn’t prolong oil life unless theirs something I’m missing

Wow, my 21 xp1000 started at 16,999. Of course by the time i added things it was close to 27k.

Just asking but are you guys sponsored by Polaris? This really seemed like an advertisement rather than a review.
great video
So have the fixed the reliability and longevity issues? This seems like they have just polished it but not fixed any of the real problems.
The red xp1000 in the video is a ultimate not a premium trim level
Polaris are always nice brand new. Problem is they fall apart fast break down often and squeak and rattle like crazy after a few months.
Not my experience. My 2013 RZR is still running strong.

The suicide rubber straps for the doors need to be changed they're useless. Slightest wind and the doors whip back bending the hinges

Still has a rubber band transmission though, fail.
Thought it was a 1000lb bed capacity, that’s a downgrade from my 2011 then!
