+Kelley moultrie I believe this was the last review he had made before he had a hiatus, when he had originally planned to stop doing NC videos. There was a lot of fan response, so he eventually went back on that decision (see "The Review Must Go On"), but at the time, he was just tired of doing these videos.
+terracannon876 it wasn't because of the fans, he stated in the review must go on, he wanted to do it because it was something he wanted to do, not because the fans wanted it
I actually still love this movie, and I'm not eve guilty about it. I want to say Nostalgia Critic missed the point, but then I would have to back myself up and I'm not even really sure what the point was. Either way, this and the second movie are some of my favourites.
00sasukelovagirl00 Admittedly, Marmaduke was out WAAAAY AFTER this particular Scooby-Doo movie, if I remember correctly, so it's like comparing the Mona Lisa to Shrek and saying the Mona Lisa copied off of Shrek.
Anyone else realize that this entire episode is based on the last episode of Star Trek The Next Generation? The last scene is taken word for word in fact. I just watched that episode and thought the closing dialogue was familiar and just had to come and write this.
+DarkLordDiablos The clue for me was the past present and future selves plus the same event and the suggestion of a temporal anomaly. TNG was and still is my favorite Star Trek.
Regarding your freakout at the beginning... I think you've made a lot of our lives better just by existing, Doug. (You know I'm being serious because I didn't call you Nost like I've been doing pretty much ever since I saw the Matrix review.) Keep doing what you do and keeping our spirits up with your hilarious reviews.
I agree, i love your videos and point of views on some of these movies. You have saved me from many bad movies and got me to watch some that i normally wouldn't. Again i love your videos. And you are awesome.
toontownwiz2 During a convention sometime after this review came out, he said there was some truth to the rant, in particular to the part about it was all he was doing for a while. 1:30 - this is why it offends me so when people who _did_ have an ok time getting along with their peers growing up and went to parties and dated and all that shit call themselves nerds.
Was the first part his honest thoughts about Doug's life or was it just acting? He sounded like he had a bit of a breakdown. I hope he is happy now if he wasn't before
fahd s It was the Critic mostly, Doug did want to do something else (Demo Reel), but eventually came back to do more Critic. That was just a plot point to make the Critic upset.
***** Nope, they are cartoon movies, but the Kiss one is insane. The Ghost is after the Stone of Kissteria, which is its own Dimension where the Kiss Army lives. Kiss even does Sailor Moon transformations.
***** I agree Scooby has done Crossovers so far and I am cool with Guest Stars. Scooby and KISS however throws the formula out the Window. The Scooby gang are "drugged" bystanders, while KISS transforms Sailor Moon style, they fly with a Ship hidden under their Themepark through a Ferriswheel into their own Dimension of Kissteria to hunt the Witch. Did I mention KISS has superpowers in the form of Rock and Roll? I wish I was making this shit up.
digitivortex I agree, they went all out on that movie and I appreciate the effort. Still, it feels more like a weird acid trip instead of a Scooby Movie.
This movie gave me one of my favorite habits though, from the scene where the two "guards" (I don't know what to call them) are up in the watchtower after the gang calls for help. If you tell a joke or say something funny, abruptly quit laughing before the other person does and just stare at them. Mmm. I don't know why, but it's just so funny to me.
Wait he said that in the Scooby Doo universe there was no magic yet Zombie Island had magic that turned women into cat people and allowed them to raise the dead and in the Alien movie they also state aliens are real as well and they even show them at the end. All this took place before this movie mind you, not sure if Witch's Ghost did though.
I want to get my hands on the original script for the film. Originally, this movie was just supposed to be a parody with a lot of stoner jokes and a side relationship with Velma and Daphne, but the executives wouldn't allow it.
I actually bought the original script from ebay last year when James Gunn or someone at WB was selling and it had all those elements you listed except the Velma and daphne lesbianism I think it was a rewrite the year on the script was 2000. And it was much darker than the final project.
Scooby-Doo the Movie written by Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gunn. Just goes to show: you gotta go through some awkward growing pains before finding balance between witty pop culture and awful.
The review seems to be taking a lot of breaks for skits that would probably make sense if you watch all of his videos. And for someone who has only seen one of his videos before, this is very, very, annoying.
He can be a bit of a hit and miss. If you want a serious review I probably wouldn't watch him, but I've seen a few more of his videos and some don't have so much time-wasting and can be amusing. I'd suggest watching a few of his shorter videos to test the waters. Sorry this is not very helpful!
chase1146 If you dont like the nostlagia critic you can still watch his Vlogs, where he is just normal :) its just a role he plays but i can understand if people dont like this outbursts of emtions :D
"Is this it? Is this really life? No! This isn't life! This isn't even anything representing life! But it's life for me. It's pretty pathetic, but, it's all I got. I know what you're saying: 'Wow, that's pretty sad', well you know, yeah it is fucking sad. I don't get to go out and hang with friends, I don't even have any friends. I have nobody to, contribute anything to. I have nobody to, talk to and fire things off of, you know, say 'Hey, what'd you think of that? Well, I'll tell you what I think of that', no, it's just me. I MEAN FOR GOD'S SAKE, I'VE NEVER DONE ANYTHING! I'VE NEVER DONE ANYTHING TO MAKE SOMEONE'S LIFE BETTER, OR, OR, GO OUT AND PLAY A GAME WITH SOMEBODY! I WOULD LOVE TO PLAY A GAME WITH SOMEBODY! Wouldn't that be great? I mean, somebody's just like: 'Oh, hey, why don't you come over and play this game with us?' 'What game?' 'Parcheesi!' I don't know what the fuck people are playing, but you know what? It'd be nice! It'd be nice to be invited! I've never even gone out to a bar with somebody, hang with some friends! I've never gone to a-a strip club! Okay, I've gone to a couple strip clubs, but I've never gone with anybody! I've never been there and actually been like... Okay, not with people, but, still, You know what? It'd be nice! It'd be nice just one day to go somewhere, where somebody is just having a good time, and somebody just says out of nowhere: 'Hey, you know what? That guy was OK! Not great, but he was OK', instead of: 'Hey! Who's that little fuckshit?' WELL, I'LL TELL YOU WHO THAT FUCKSHIT IS! HE'S THE NOSTALGIA CRITIC! HE REMEMBERS IT SO YOU DON'T FUCKING HAVE TO! EVEN THOUGH EVERY FUCKING DAY HE EXISTS, HE WISHES HE DIDN'T HAVE TO! HE WISHES, HE DIDN'T HAVE TO DO THIS BULLSHIT, TO MAKE YOU WATCH, AND GET YOU RATINGS! AND WHY DOES IT HAPPEN? WHY DO YOU KEEP COMING BACK? BECAUSE YOU'RE FUCKING SICK AND I'M FUCKING STUPID! THAT'S THE WAY IT IS, AND THAT'S THE WAY IT'S ALWAYS GONNA BE! THERE IS NO CHANGE! THERE IS NO FUTURE! THERE IS NO PAST! THE PRESENT IS A JOKE, EVERYTHING IS HELL! MY LIFE IS HELL! THIS! IS THE WORST THING! A HUMAN BEING! COULD EVER! GO THROUGH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!... So, let's start."
Robert Ivey Cool. I genuinely really love it when people stenographise the best bits in UA-cam videos. My other favourite transcript is of Ethan of H3H3 talking about that square white chick who speaks slang, Zelda - "y'know, the heezy?"
Okay so the original Scooby Doo did rule out magic and actual ghosts, but I'm pretty sure there was an old spin off with Scooby and Shaggy trying to put a bunch of demons and ghost back in some book. And some of the movies had actual ghosts and real monsters - and who can forget Shaggy and Scooby being the unwilling teachers to an all ghouls academy for all the daughters of famous monsters? You can't exactly fault a movie for a gimmick that has actually been used and been successful in past installments. Just fault them for failing at it entirely.
Yeah, a lot of the old Scooby Doo movies and couple of variations of it have real monsters, Scooby Doo On Zombie Island is a really good example of it.
I hated this because it had monsters and ghosts, but I always loved the Thirteen Ghosts of Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo and the Boo Brothers. Wow, I'm a hypocrite. But they had charm, this has...arse.
The thing is, this movie is based on the original Scooby Doo cartoon, not the spinoff cartoons. Aaannddd, its not written as well. If it was, it could have been ignored easily.
I think that the fascinating part is that the younger him is still wearing a wedding ring so he's obviously still married the older him is not wearing a wedding ring so he is not married.
WHY ARE SO MANY OF THESE VIDEOS ON LIKE FIFTY OTHER CHANNELS? I CANT EVEN FIGURE OUT WHICH ONE IS THE ORIGINAL CHANNEL! SOMEONE CARE TO EXPLAIN THIS UNIVERSAL MYSTERY TO ME?
originally the videos were on a website which i dont remember the name too. but if you want the official one theres the league of super critic, it has nostalgia critic nostalgia chick, cinema snob and all the other ones.
They had Velma on the ground looking for her glasses when the monsters burst in. I only noticed it though because I had to pause to go get a cough drop. There's just so much stuff going on that you can honestly lose track of the characters!
Eh, I still like it. It is flawed, very flawed, but I still get a laugh when I watch it. The same with Monsters Unleashed. The other two live action films I hate, though.
Oh Doug. You make my life bearable, please calm down. xD I love your reviews and you can put a smile on my face every day! (Not sure how real that hist fit at the start was but without sounding like an unsympathetic prick, it was hilarious.)
+Lulu Molloy also what makes zombie island better then this is that zombie island managed to be darker and edgier then the show like this movie tried to do but maintained the likebility of the main characters witch this film failed at.
Ever since Nostalgia Critic came back, his best reviews were A.I., The Master of Disguise, Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, Sailor Moon, The Last Airbender, Eight Crazy Nights, The Christmas Tree, and Ghost Dad. Jurassic Park, Face-Off, Catwoman, Cat in the Hat, Les Miserables, The King and I(1999), Wicker Man, Ghost Rider, and Sharknado are his worst reviews of all along with his Space Jam, Ponyo, and Good Burger reviews. Doug, please lay off the good movies and stick to what makes you the best in bad movies. Review: Blues Brothers 2000, Big Top Pee-Wee, Barney's Great Adventure, Rugrats Go Wild, Clifford, House Arrest, 40 Days and 40 Nights, Muppets Wizard of Oz, and Problem Child 1 and 2.
if the world is doomed, then why isn't the future Doug, not dead..........but if they manage to save the world...he should come back...anyone feel the same
The whole episode is a riff on the final episode of Star Trek The Next Generation right down to the poker game at the end. In the episode Q has created alternate timelines for the past and future Picards which do not necessarily follow the rules of the original timeline.
One thing that bugs me about this review is that Nostalgia Critic acts like this was the first movie to make the monsters in it real rather than guys in costumes, when there was a series of Scooby Doo movies that made the monsters real. These included an island full of zombies that was controlled by werecats, a sentient humanoid computer virus and the gang being transported into a video game.
Hey Nostalgia Critic. Could you do a movie review on the "Herbie" series please? I remeber them from my childhood. 1. The Love Bug 2.Herbie Rides Again 3.Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo 4.Herbie Goes Bannas 5.Herbie Fully Loaded Those are the movies. There bye Disney. I hope you check them out. Thanx
I think my favorite was The Love bug. Followed by Herbie Rides Again. Than Herbie Fully Loaded. Than Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo. Then Herbie Goes Bannas
Caleb Goodson I've only seen Herbie: Fully Loaded, that and Freaky Friday are my only reference points for Lindsay Lohan. Needless to say, I don't get most jokes people make about her.

No.

bill fill Why?
Justin Talmadge why not????????????????????????
Lee Coffill so do i
Fun Fact: This movie was written by James Gunn, the director of Guardians Of The Galaxy.
What, are you kidding me? How did he not make this movie work good like Guardians of the Galaxy.
***** OK thanks.
That explains why Guardians of the Galaxy didn't have a good plot.
***** A boring and mostly forgettable one. To me. Yes, I was paying attention. I'd rather watch this movie than Guardians again.
+Tristan Hartup I Always Love Guardians Of The Galaxy.
The movie wasn't bad enough to warrant that emotional outburst.
Btw, "why did they make him look like marmaduke?" Let me guess, because their both Great Danes maybe??
Maybe, Maybe not... but Disney's "Underdog" or "Food Fight" definitely would.
Yeah, it was.
00sasukelovagirl00 Admittedly, Marmaduke was out WAAAAY AFTER this particular Scooby-Doo movie, if I remember correctly, so it's like comparing the Mona Lisa to Shrek and saying the Mona Lisa copied off of Shrek.
Nostalgia Critic is a huge closet fan of Scooby Dooby Doo.
Anyone else realize that this entire episode is based on the last episode of Star Trek The Next Generation? The last scene is taken word for word in fact.
I just watched that episode and thought the closing dialogue was familiar and just had to come and write this.
ThePandanaman "All Good Things" being the episode, I caught it too.
ThePandanaman i knew it was referencing something... i just didn't know what. i should've known, the NC _is_ a big star trek fan after all.
+ThePandanaman I picked up on hints of that through the episode and then was certain at the end.
+DarkLordDiablos The clue for me was the past present and future selves plus the same event and the suggestion of a temporal anomaly. TNG was and still is my favorite Star Trek.
darkdracofire TNG is one of My favourites also, used to be on BBC2 Wednesday night at 6pm.
If they ever bring back Scrappy in the next Scooby-Doo cartoon, I want there to be an episode where he watches this movie and sue the producers.
I think he's actually less annoying in this than he is in the 80s cartoons.
SrGurkman It's cause he's only in it for like 10 seconds minus the conclusion.
what really bugs me is that he was shown in Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporarted....well a statue of him at least
That sounds like a neat idea for an episode of Harvey Birdman or something.
Rumplestiltskin G Yeah, and they're like "Never speak of him again"
I need to memorize that opening monologue.
And perform it from drama class 😂
Done and done.

HeliosKitty He's just playing a character dude....
HeliosKitty How many of these videos are actual reviews? He seems to just break down the plot with jokes in between.
This was originally gonna be an 18 rated film which explains some of it6. Like the weed jokes and the Fred wanting to see Daphne nude

+Charlie Hinkley Were the hell did you get that information from?!?!?
whether the film was good or not, Mathew Lillard as shaggy was fucking perfect
lol they made Velma hotter than Daphne
+JD1010101110
And the actress who played Velma also voiced Wendy in Gravity Falls & C.J. in Regular Show.
+Ivan Simpson awsome
+Ivan Simpson she also plays Hawkeye's wife in Avengers age of Ultron
+JD1010101110 Velma has always been hotter than Daphne. She's curvier, and smarter.
Red Dwarf was such a great show.
You could say it's pretty.....
*click* nice...
ChickenPika Still is.
New season comes out next year,
Was there a Red Dwarf reference in this?
+musicgal365 Yeah, Doug narrates over Shaggy saying "My middle name is Judas!" when he suggests leaving Fred and Daphne to get eaten.
+Monkeybox Gaming WAIT WAIT WAIT WHAT
And then Demo Reel flopped like a fish on dry land, so he had to suck it up and go back to being the Nostalgia Critic.
Good times.
What?that makes so much sense now actually...
U didn't have to be an ass about it though.
Omar Dajani No, but I enjoyed being an ass about it.
lester jones i have no idea what you guys are talking about
Fjalar Tandri
Demo Reel. Doug's next big thing. He wanted to retire the Nostalgia Critic character.
lester jones ok thanks
'Hello Timon, I've come to eat your soul..!'

LastWill1000 hey dont you know that they where rivals they where the biggest rivalry in 2008
GamingAnimeYMas Really? I never heard of that before. Then again, I only heard of AVGN a few months ago and NC, also a few months, but less than.
LastWill1000 their rivalry is famous even internationaly that both have a brief cameo appearance in an anime that i dont remember its name but search for it
Well Nostalgia is having a breakdown
Everyone needs to blow off some steam every now and then
Yep, thank god he did. But man was he going down
Ya, he must have bottled it for so long. These things eat your soul if you don't let them out you know
Yeah, I've done that before. I started ripping drawings out of my sketchbook screaming "Horrid! Ugly! You Can't Draw!!!" I still have the pictures but god I never want to see myself do it again.
A fellow artist! holy shit! I have never reached a part where I ripped any of my drawings, they are too precious to me although I did kinda open up my knuckles in frustration
Sadly, they created 3 sequels, and a series that ended in everyone dying and being warped to another demension.
***** Scooby Doo duh!
-Scooby Doo
-Scooby Doo 2
-Scooby Doo Origins (or whatever its called)
-Scooby Doo Curse of the Lake Monster
-Scooby Doo Mystery Inc (Series)
Mystery inc. was awesome it had me thinking what was going to happen next!
Mama Luigi I know. It was pretty good, it's just the ending sucked. Shame really. :P
yeah, I was kinds disappointed about the ending too

This implies he has done it more than once.

Me: Banana? ._.
NC: Her name is ACTUALLY Mary Jane. >.>
Me: Close enough :'D
"You know we already have cards..."
"Don't ruin the moment."
umm i loved this movie....why did you have to open my eyes!!!
Matrix moment.
You obviously haven't seen the Matrix then.
Shall I explain it? So you can get the joke?
I don't know what that means.
Is it from a movie that I obviously haven't seen judging by this comments?

There was a sequel to this. The second one was worse if I recall.

Okay, fun fact for all you guys: the guy who wrote the script for this disaster went on to direct, wait for it...
...dramatic buildup in 3, 2, 1...
...GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY!!! And you know, I can actually see a bit of GOTG in this mess.
just curious, where do you see GOTG in Scooby Doo?
I just feel like the humor is similar. Yet it works in GOTG while it spectacularly fails here. Who knows?
LinkMarioSamus Maybe because GOTG is a comic book movie?
That's true. Not to mention GOTG actually has a good plot. It feels like the Star Wars of our time (and I'd actually say it's better than any Star Wars movie aside from The Empire Strikes Back).
I love Guardians of the Galaxy....
anyone here who thinks the second one was better?
You're not alone there.
***** i liked it because the gang didn't want to help the citizen after they're being attacked by the monsters...even when they say they need they're help. because really...why the fuck should they?
I think some of what NC talked about in this was bettered in he second one. The gang felt more like the gang.
***** It sucked, but it was better.
first one was the best
*watches the Critic breakdown*
You want a hug man? ;~;
amen, man. amen
Huh. Turns out, the movie is fanfiction. Bad fanfiction at that.
The "pretty sad existence"-bit... that hit home...
The ending with Roger was actually quite beautiful
did anyone else notice in the beginning of the film where they go their seperate ways....
they're all walking to diff cars dat kinda make fun of their personalities but...
THEY ALL GOT THERE IN DA MYSTERY MACHINE!
y r their personal cars there?
Don't question it, you might die.
True
They stole the cars from the reporters.
and they just happened to hav cars to match their personalities
KittyPie Kawaii
Unlikely coincidence.
It's not like it's the only one.
1:30 - this is why it offends me so when people who _did_ have an ok time getting along with their peers growing up and went to parties and dated and all that shit call themselves nerds.
Future critic is a scientist? Oh myyy .
great scott !!!!!!!!!
Was Daphne really the damsel in distress that much?
I remember it was usually Shaggy and Scooby getting into trouble.
Shaggy and Scooby got in trouble but usually just had to run away. Daphne on the other hand was usually kidnapped/ trapped and needed saving.
***** yeah but she wasn't in danger that much like Shaggy and Scooby did
***** despite being danger pron fans to this day still really like her i don't really see what makes her dislikable to some other fans though
The only GOOD THINGS about this movie is Shaggy's actor and the FREAKIN MUSIC score!
your kidding about Shaggy's actor right?
No why? He plays him in all the new stuff
XD LOL you serious?
yes XD
O_O...AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!*runs for my life*
Was the first part his honest thoughts about Doug's life or was it just acting? He sounded like he had a bit of a breakdown. I hope he is happy now if he wasn't before
fahd s It was the Critic mostly, Doug did want to do something else (Demo Reel), but eventually came back to do more Critic. That was just a plot point to make the Critic upset.
Cagan Riiight, just a plot point.
Was it?
+fahd s Reference to the last episode of Star Trek
I think it was a look at Doug's psyche at the time. It was awkward.
"No urinating on Daphne!" "THAT'S MY JOB!!" LMAO XD
TvTropes' name for the character that NO VIEWER likes is "the Scrappy"
Wonder if Doug will ever DOO Monster's Unleashed.
Daphnetly not.
He'd be too a-Fred he's have a brain malfunction from it.
Karkat Vantas how we come up with such puns is a Mystery to me..
Christy Bubbles aahahahaahahaha!! My sides are splitting up and looking for clues! ahhaa!!
I would love it if the Critic reviewed the newest Scooby movies, especially Scooby meets Kiss. You cant get more corporate sellout than that.
*****
Nope, they are cartoon movies, but the Kiss one is insane. The Ghost is after the Stone of Kissteria, which is its own Dimension where the Kiss Army lives. Kiss even does Sailor Moon transformations.
*****
You should watch it, its a mindfuck. I cant even count how often I went WTF?
***** I agree Scooby has done Crossovers so far and I am cool with Guest Stars. Scooby and KISS however throws the formula out the Window. The Scooby gang are "drugged" bystanders, while KISS transforms Sailor Moon style, they fly with a Ship hidden under their Themepark through a Ferriswheel into their own Dimension of Kissteria to hunt the Witch. Did I mention KISS has superpowers in the form of Rock and Roll? I wish I was making this shit up.
+maximumrisk2004 But the animation is awesome.
digitivortex
I agree, they went all out on that movie and I appreciate the effort. Still, it feels more like a weird acid trip instead of a Scooby Movie.
I know that opening rant was meant as a joke, but I found parts of it sadly relatable.
The beginning made me feel bad about myself....
(Watching NC's breakdown) Jesus man, calm down!
Yep!
ananthusarat put the speed on 2 and remove audio. have fun watching his blood get so hot it becomes a leading cause for global warming
Adam Leocaleo
lol
Oscar winning freak out at the beginning....
EPIC :)
skip to 5:40 that's when the review actually starts.
Haha I loved this movie. Have any of you guys seen the animated one called Scooby-Doo: Zombie Island?
I've seen that movie. It's probably #3 on my list of favourite Scooby Doo movies. My #1 is Scooby Doo and the Samurai Sword.
scooby doo 2 monsters unleashed now that was a great movie
I loved that movie when I was a kid.
That was a great fucking movie
***** The zombies gave me nightmares when I was little. So awesome.
The Mary Jane part... I never noticed that part
Scooby Doo: Zombie Island. By far the best Scooby Doo movie ever.
Holy crap that rant at the beginning was amazing. NC really works hard on these things.
JYJnKumi
That would have been a great film.
I actually bought the original script from ebay last year when James Gunn or someone at WB was selling and it had all those elements you listed except the Velma and daphne lesbianism I think it was a rewrite the year on the script was 2000. And it was much darker than the final project.
i haven't seen zombie island in years, but i remember it being fantastic.
dickslap37
It's my fave Scooby Doo movie.
When he was freaking out in the beginning all I could hear in my head was "hello darkness my old friend..."
Scooby-Doo the Movie written by Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gunn.
Just goes to show: you gotta go through some awkward growing pains before finding balance between witty pop culture and awful.
5 minutes in and he hasn't started the fucking review
You should watch his new reviews....
The review seems to be taking a lot of breaks for skits that would probably make sense if you watch all of his videos.
And for someone who has only seen one of his videos before, this is very, very, annoying.
Lady BatCat im simply looking for a reveiw of a movie, so im guessing i should stay away from this dude then?
He can be a bit of a hit and miss. If you want a serious review I probably wouldn't watch him, but I've seen a few more of his videos and some don't have so much time-wasting and can be amusing. I'd suggest watching a few of his shorter videos to test the waters. Sorry this is not very helpful!
chase1146 If you dont like the nostlagia critic you can still watch his Vlogs, where he is just normal :) its just a role he plays but i can understand if people dont like this outbursts of emtions :D
Critic... Are you okay?
what do ya mean?
"Well what the hell do you know, you stupid, close-minded nark?"
"I'm you, ya DUMBASS."
Best line. XD
Bitching and moaning like I always do, and someone say 'Well, that's a pretty sad existence', well yeah it is a pretty sad existence JUST SITTING HERE TALKING ABOUT SCOOBY FUCKING DOO!
My other favourite transcript is of Ethan of H3H3 talking about that square white chick who speaks slang, Zelda - "y'know, the heezy?"
most epic rant ever...Screw Oscars ...now THIS is acting XDDDDD
James gunn look him up he is the writer and you will be surprised
I hated this because it had monsters and ghosts, but I always loved the Thirteen Ghosts of Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo and the Boo Brothers. Wow, I'm a hypocrite. But they had charm, this has...arse.
The thing is, this movie is based on the original Scooby Doo cartoon, not the spinoff cartoons. Aaannddd, its not written as well. If it was, it could have been ignored easily.
Agggg my little girl loves that Ghoul School movie, though it is still not as bad as another love of her's Monster High shudder....
That Judas line gets me every single time.
Scrappy is actually Yellow Diamond
+Paige Armstrong Who?
it's from steven universe
it would take me a century, but maybe someone else could explain you
I love how he made a parody of TNG "All Good Things..."
Also
30:45-33:23
Full House Poker in a nutshell.
To be honest, in the scene with smoke coming out of the mystery machine, grilling burgers wasnt on my mind....
I think that the fascinating part is that the younger him is still wearing a wedding ring so he's obviously still married the older him is not wearing a wedding ring so he is not married.
Is the nostalgia critic married? I noticed he seemed to be wearing a wedding band when playing his younger self
BunnyLongEars Maybe it was just a ring.
Yes he is married.
WHY ARE SO MANY OF THESE VIDEOS ON LIKE FIFTY OTHER CHANNELS? I CANT EVEN FIGURE OUT WHICH ONE IS THE ORIGINAL CHANNEL! SOMEONE CARE TO EXPLAIN THIS UNIVERSAL MYSTERY TO ME?
Stick with this one, or The League of Super Critics channel.
originally the videos were on a website which i dont remember the name too. but if you want the official one theres the league of super critic, it has nostalgia critic nostalgia chick, cinema snob and all the other ones.
supersmashdragon
Thatguywiththeglasses.com is the website your thinking of.
23:24 I don't even think that Shyamalan would think that plot twist would work.
They had Velma on the ground looking for her glasses when the monsters burst in. I only noticed it though because I had to pause to go get a cough drop. There's just so much stuff going on that you can honestly lose track of the characters!
Did they just parody the end of Star Trek: The Next Generation in a Scooby Doo review? That is so awesome.
I just got the ending! Star Trek Next Gen!
Holy hell, I was thinking NO ONE got that by reading the comments.
redtail Okay, there's no need to get snippy with me.
He's good at raging
The beginning of this review...
Critic you're scaring me.
i remember seeing this at the cinema. i was holding my bladder for so long that i ended up peeing myself. not even kidding
to much information Jaden
Ciaran Palmer How Can Pee Be Real If Our Bladders Aren't Real
***** I don't want to talk about this
If you can go past something... Can you go future aswell 0_o
ironically i seen this movie in the cinema too ..... i didnt needed to pee ... yet i spend most of the time in the bathroom ..
Eh, I still like it. It is flawed, very flawed, but I still get a laugh when I watch it. The same with Monsters Unleashed. The other two live action films I hate, though.
You mean the reboot?
That was horrible
Yes. A straight to TV movie that rebooted the live action film series. I think it was called "Scooby Doo: The Mystery Begins".
Scootaboom Studios Didn't they make a Scooby Doo 3?
And by 3 I mean for the original series.
The original live action one had a cool dvd menu.
Oh Doug. You make my life bearable, please calm down. xD I love your reviews and you can put a smile on my face every day! (Not sure how real that hist fit at the start was but without sounding like an unsympathetic prick, it was hilarious.)
13:10 Zombie island also put in supernatural elements, but that was a good movie so I, for one, can overlook it.
***** Yeah.
One of the first animated ones I think.
+Lulu Molloy also what makes zombie island better then this is that zombie island managed to be darker and edgier then the show like this movie tried to do but maintained the likebility of the main characters witch this film failed at.
+Lulu Molloy That Zombie Island movie scared the sh*t out of me as a kid
The Critically Acclaimed Bounty Hunter Me too
Scooby Doo is one show I never get why it's popular.....
I'm a Dinosaur.
this is indisputably true.
I AM A STEGOSAURUS!!!
***** I like trains.
AND I'M JAVERT!
Kenneth Murphy DO NOT FORGET MY NAME
Ah, Critic... if only you knew how much joy you brought to many of us in our darkest hours...
The roles of Velma and shaggy were awesome. Honestly they nailed their characters.
"Fred and Velma always figured everything."
"My middle name is Judas!"
How DARE you say Jurassic park and sharknado are his worst reviews! Go sit in the corner, and think about your life!
Drwhygiveacrap IMO, I love his Sharknado review, bc they just make soooo much fun of it, and Cinema Snob adds a bit more fun to it
But I like muppets wizard of oz...
I hated em since there were too much skits in them.
You put an impressive amount of time into making that list
1:19 Dougs face is like, really red.
scooby doo the movie was made 2002 and this review upploaded 2012 he was 20 years oldwhen the movie came out so his "younger self" is not that young.
No, he was 19! Get it right ya narc!
Lyn Taylor dude 2002-2012 is 20 years
NJHS92 No, its 10 years. 2002-2022 is 20 years
Lyn Taylor i know i meant 10 years i thought i edited it but apparently youtube didn't register my edit, its 10 years
Sir, you've found the plot hole.
10:59 best time travel question ever
22:05 i remember those souls scaring the fuck out of me as a kid.
lol, me too. I always seemed to see them out of the corner of my eye when i was trying to go to sleep. Thanks, brain!
Doug is 200% done with this shit
that opening rant was LEGENDARY
I didn't realize this was the intentional ending to the Nostalgia Critic, I'm glad he brought it back.
if the world is doomed, then why isn't the future Doug, not dead..........but if they manage to save the world...he should come back...anyone feel the same
Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey stuff...
I guess it's Dr. Who stuff.
Peter Kent Doctor*. Sorry.
That's because it was a fixed point in time!
The whole episode is a riff on the final episode of Star Trek The Next Generation right down to the poker game at the end. In the episode Q has created alternate timelines for the past and future Picards which do not necessarily follow the rules of the original timeline.
His rant about being alone in the beginning hits very close to me. :(
Hope he doesn't see the recent Scooby-Doo incarnation.
He'd scream his head off.
That ST: TNG ending c:
Yeah, I have to admit, that was pretty awesome. :)
2:40 The review begins.
"I'm serious, just say the first name that pops in your head."
Me: Mary?
"Her name is Mary f***ing Jane!"
:O
One thing that bugs me about this review is that Nostalgia Critic acts like this was the first movie to make the monsters in it real rather than guys in costumes, when there was a series of Scooby Doo movies that made the monsters real. These included an island full of zombies that was controlled by werecats, a sentient humanoid computer virus and the gang being transported into a video game.
All I do is comment what he really should review is Monsters Unleashed
"a sentient humanoid computer virus" whom I had a crush on as a kid.
Hey Nostalgia Critic. Could you do a movie review on the "Herbie" series please?
I remeber them from my childhood.
1. The Love Bug
2.Herbie Rides Again
3.Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo
4.Herbie Goes Bannas
5.Herbie Fully Loaded
Those are the movies. There bye Disney. I hope you check them out.
Thanx
What's your favorite? Mine was Monte Carlo
I think my favorite was The Love bug. Followed by Herbie Rides Again. Than Herbie Fully Loaded. Than Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo. Then Herbie Goes Bannas
Yea. Hard to beat the original.
Yeah. There all good. Tho
Caleb Goodson I've only seen Herbie: Fully Loaded, that and Freaky Friday are my only reference points for Lindsay Lohan. Needless to say, I don't get most jokes people make about her.
