This, and your other tutorials, are life savers. I was seriously contemplating Hara-Kiri out of sheer frustration since no manuals are included with the released version. Thank you so much for having taken the time to create these very professional and useful videos 👍👍👍👍👍
I'm in France, leaving to Africa in 2 days for 6 month, MSFS will be out in 29 mins. I wont have Internet over there. Your content is just pure gem. Glorious knowledge to save the limited time I have left and make as much as I can for the 2 days I have left to set the sim up. THANK YOU. I DEEPLY THANK YOU WITH ALL MY HEART.
MATE!!! Your video just showed me how to deal with my "unsupported" joystick!! That filter to "Assigned" showing literally nothing assigned is so deceiving, I thought the game just.. flat out hated my joystick!! I still ordered a new Extreme 3D Pro with the expressest of express shipping, but still... Mate you've made my day thank you so so so much!!!!
As with most software these days, nothing comes with manuals or guides. Your tutorials are absolutely crucial in getting to grips with these complex issues. Having just installed FS 2020 I wasted a lot of time trying to work out why my controller wouldn't work as intended. Thank you so much for your videos!
Thank you so much! My older X52 pro didn't come pre-mapped and I am pretty new to flight sims. I looked all over for layouts to no avail. After going through this tutorial I was able to successfully take-off, cruise around and enjoy Innsbruck, and then touch back down safely. 10/10 video, very direct and to the point.
Finally... Someone who starts from the beginning and shows how to do the controls setup. Including the various (and sometimes oddly named) choices, filters, set vs toggle,... ('validate'!!??) Thanks!!

Excellent tutorial. Just got a new Honeycomb Yoke and got my old FSX days CH Throttle and CH Pedals from storage. All I need now is to wait for release day and I know how to calibrate. Well done.
Yikes, you just answered one of my most pressing questions: Can I map the POV up/down on my joystick to pitch trim? Looks like yes, I can! You made my day :) Only three more nights of sleep ...
Volker Jansen. Rather than wasting a POV switch, I would recommend using a toggle switch on a throttle (if you have one), I find this more useful. I should add that the best switch for this is a “momentary” type. On the Saitek 55 I have I use the momentary rocker switch on the rear of the Left Throttle.
@@antonvons8559 At the moment I think I will use the POV switch on the throttle to pan my view and the POV switch on the joystick to trim. It seems quite intuitive to me to trim and release pressure on the stick with the same hand. I just bought the Thrustmaster TCA joystick and their TWCS throttle, which has an unbelievable amount of buttons. It even has a mini joystick under the index finger which might be an interesting alternative to the POV button.

Apu Nahasapeemapetilon ...oh what a load of BS. lgo580 I have that stick, it’s awesome!
I have yet to figure out how to set a crossover point on the throttle, prop and mixture axis’ to have a BETA/reverse zone at the bottom of the throttle; a feather zone at the bottom of the propeller lever and a distinct low idle/ cut-off point for the condition lever......
A little advanced controller setup for turboprops and jets would be a great topic.
Thanks
Thank you. I was wondering how to setup my contols. A Complete change from previous MS Flight Sims
I set deadzones to zero in FS2020 for the Crosswind pedals and if needed I adjust deadzones in the MFG Configurator. It works so much better that way. Disclaimer: I don't have the V2 MFG Crosswind's I only have the first revision from several years ago (White/Black). THANKS SQUIRREL !!!!!
Great video for getting set up, just what I needed!
You save us a lot of frustration ! Thanks again!!!
Hey mate, excellent tutorial. I think I've linked this to a 100 odd people in the MSFS forums!
Just another THANK-YOU for a great job! So helpful and so professionally done.
Wow, thank you so much for this video!
I didn't even THINK to click that little filter arrow to see all the other unassigned mappings.
I was sat there last night thinking, WHY the hell can I not map the rest of my unused throttle buttons lol
Thanks Again!
