FYI not the first time you get confused with euros and pounds. Terraria's figure is lower than 7th Citadel but they are not the same currency so the order is correct. British pound sterling is significantly more valuable than euro. That being said, probably because of that very same issue, Song of Ice & Fire is one spot too high (or Terraria is one spot too low). Not that it really matters because it's just a list but when backing a project it makes a significant difference in actual price whether the prices are shown in euros or pounds.
I was excited about Cyberpunk by CMON until I found out it was an area control game. I was wanting to be a cyber runner shooting guns, hacking computers, all while chromed out in cybernetic limbs in a neon futuristic world. Once Goon Board announced the style their version would bring, I was sold. Only thing that would make me happier is a campaign game of Shadowrun made by an actual good creator. That poor IP has had no luck with quality, but I love the world and theme.
So funny having same thoughts with you watching you hahaha love it. In the moment you showed STALKER you said what I am thinking "Stalker maight have to wait, you know, I dont know" exact same thoughts. So many games are arriving right now, big games for me as well. btw will you get a demo copy of Cloudspire Harbringer? You can play with Prof Meg, I would love to see that!
Played Orient Exp at the weekend at Tabletop Scotland (great event btw) - it's a mahoosive game but looked incredible quality and a pretty immersive experience (not just Unfathomable on a train). Kudos also to the poor guy doing an incredible job explaining the raft of rules all day - his table was always full so lots of interest
Interesting video, Alex! I'm not sure how much work was required to pull the data, but I'd love to see a similar video of most BACKED board games of 2023 & 2024 if that data is easily found. I'd be curious to see what insights it might provide and your thoughts on the lists.
It may be interesting to note which previous-year campaigns had already closed by this point in the current year versus those which occurred in the latter part of the year. That could give some additional interesting seasonality context as crowdfunding ebbs and flows through a calendar cycle. More data points (years) would also paint a clearer comparative picture, even if it were just a note of the ranges over the previous five years or something like that without actually talking about each game.
1. I'm wondering if the Nemesis Retaliation amount has something to do with that in this campaign people could have backed the other Nemesis games? 2. Those numbers however impressive, still are no match for how much money people poured over Star Citizen (714M USD so far?) - crazy. 3. "A typo" - I laughed 😂
Yeah, that's a much older version of Blue Beetle. I echo your disappointment. I've absolutely been backing more RPG projects over board games this last year. They're less expensive (in general), and take up far less space than board games to store. I've also been choosing to wait until retail over backing during crowdfunding. So overall I'm still spending about the same amount for my hobbies, but instead of pouring it into crowdfunding board games, it's being more diversified into RPGs, retail, and painting supplies.
I remember watching your original DC united video and hearing you comment about needing to see the blue beetle movie when you saw the stretch goal and thinking "oof, Alex is going to be disappointmed when he finds out', Very funny to get to see the moment. Ted was the previous blue beetle who never could get the beetle to open, so he studied the tech and built the gadgets that you see jamie use in the movie
The Marvel IP has had a stranglehold on pop culture for so long. I feel like there’s a lot of crossover between adult board gamers and adult marvel fans. I always find it hard to take a review seriously on a marvel or DCI board game. Reviewers always come off like fanboys of the IP. I feel that’s elevated a lot of these marble games to higher ratings and they deserve. But that’s just me, those IPAs are actually turnoffs for me like World War™ two games or turnoffs for you. But there are definitely a lot more marvel buffs than World War II buffs these days.

The rabbit joke is comedy gold.
I had to go back and listen to that joke five times because it made me laugh so much. Fantastic delivery! Thanks for making my day.

I would happily play if they send something:)
Elderscrolls is currently still open but wouldn't expect it to be for long
Aaaand it’s closed.

I still can't believe I'm part of all this madness 😂. Thanks for the video.
Is it just my eyes or is the focus really off on this video? I do have terrible vision so it could just be me.
It shifts at points, I'm trying to figure out locked focus points....I'm not actually all that camera savvy :)
Not that I don't appreciate your bonus jokes at the end of these videos, Alex - but this one actually made me laugh out loud. Good one!
This was a good one
Lol I'm happy it resonated
Jaime Reyes blue beetle > Ted Kors beetle. They're probably saving a lot of younger generation heroes for season 2
Awaken Realms doing very well for itself.
Regarding the Castles of Burgundy was that now the initial campaign or the re-launch?

I think so, similar to how the Marvel United stuff that also had previous content could be higher because of it.
Now this was interesting
Nice video!💙🧡 Awesome ending❤😂😂
Thanks!
No games in my taste but love each video here! :)
lol that means money saved :)
@@BoardGameCo Hah, it's an occasion to fill in the gaps e.g. Clash of Cultures :D
Thank you so much Alex! :D The joke at the end so made my day or rather evening!🤣 Have a great day yourself!
Lol happy I could help
DCeased was one of the worse performing Zombicide systems for a long while.

Ya, i actually kind of liked the new blue beetle. Was fun at least, if cheesy.
The Castles of Burgundy reprint pledge manager closes on September 11th (Wednesday)
