    Thank you Jeremy! I have a question: How well does this non-convection oven cook roasts? I've never used the convection fan on my gas stove(which I will get rid of) because of fan noise, yet my roasts always turn out well. I mean, do you wish you had the next better model(convection), or does the oven you now have perform well enough that you're happy with it?

    • @Jeremyschannel1

      Yea it does just fine, I have no complaints about the oven. Honestly it performs better than my old range oven. Probably because it's better insulated? I've never used a convection oven though so keep that in mind. Well.. except for my countertops ninja air fryer/toaster oven combo.

    glass top will smug. will never get that bad but something to live with. there is a way to keep fingerprints off of it. it will always be easy to clean. it can be a good idea to not degrease the top and keep a even coat of oil and fingerprint wont form. dont worry about scratching it. its supposed to be used and you can always polish it too.

    We bought a pricy model, about $2,000, at Costco in July. It worked really well in the first 2+ months. Then one day, I heard a loud pop while heating water in a pot. Something on the control board broke. We tried to contact Samsung for repair just right upon the 3-month warranty. Then we talked to Costco about the possibility of exchange or other options. It's been over 1 month and the range hasn't been fully repaired yet. A sad Thanksgiving without a functioning induction range.
    PS. A technician came and changed the control board and the power distribution board (?) more than a week ago, but he failed to recover the range due to a missing screw for the burner connection. Six weeks passed and we are still waiting for repair.

      That's a shame. I did hear that in some areas Samsung appliances are difficult to get serviced. I had no way to know whether that's true here in central Pennsylvania so just went with it and hoped I didn't end up with a lemon. Hope you get yours fixed, esp since it's the higher end model. Where are you located, out of curiosity? (Roughly - we don't need your address!)

    I’ve heard people complaining about the ovens heat messing with the electronics. Have you experienced anything bad yet?

    • @Jeremyschannel1
      @Jeremyschannel1  2 місяці тому

      I honestly rarely use the oven and the stovetop at the same time, but I could see that happening. One gripe I have developed with the stovetop is that if the glass top itself gets too hot the burners will turn their heat down to low. It's only ever an issue for me when I'm making something like corn tortillas from scratch, where you want high heat for an extended period of time. But if you have the oven on high heat and also have a hot pan on the cooktop I could see how it might turn itself to low quicker.

    Induction is so much better than electric or gas! Congrats! Don't slide an iron skillet on the cooktop. You did that in this video - that could cause scratches!

    • @Jeremyschannel1
      @Jeremyschannel1  11 місяців тому +1

      I've heard that also. But my cast iron is very smooth on the bottom, and tbh I'm not sure I really believe it's going to be a problem. I saw someone on UA-cam demonstrate grinding a cast iron skillet in a glass top, and he showed that the apparent scratches were actually just some of the seasoning wearing off the bottom of the pan, cleaned right up with cleaner. I won't worry about it for now and update my channel in a while (6 months or a year?) to report on any scratches. Cast iron is softer than glass for sure, but I guess if some hard grit like sand gets on the top, the weight of the skillet could cause it to scratch?

      Use enameled cast Iron to prevent scratching the glass surface. Some induction surfaces have the option to be white which will not show hand prints like the black does. Also, you can remove the black glass and have a custom glass surface made from a glazer.

      What do you mean by "set up correctly?" There's no setup, just put an induction compatible pan on and turn it on. When there's no pan it gives you a little icon where it usually shows the power level (1 through 9). The icon looks like a pot over a burner, it's kind of neat. I can post a quick reel about it later. Then eventually it'll just turn off the burner and give you a " - " if I'm remembering correctly.

    I bought the NE63B8611SG range and i have the emporia electricity monitoring system in my house, which monitors power use at the breakers. It says that the stove uses 1.2amps continuously even when off. This is a lot of power! This equates to $31.5 per month or $378 dollars a year @0.15 $/kwh doing nothing. While i do like the stove its a lot to pay when not in use and its only powering thr clock and wifi. Turning off wifi didnt change much. Im trying to determine if this is typical or my stove is defective.

      Hmm a Google search suggests that so e of those power monitoring systems might not be super accurate at low draw levels, esp on 220. I'm not sure if it's related to how the cookware was made. My stainless stuff is definitely budget cookware. But I've heard from others that any laminated bottom pans can make a bit of noise. It's worse at high heat settings while the pan is still heating up. I find that once the pan has come to temperature the noise is less.

    • @amordebelleza4770
      @amordebelleza4770 10 місяців тому +2

      It does. Its not necessarily vecause its cheap but because the magnets arent good enough or big enough. Make sure you check your magnet size and metal types before buying pans. If you notice that noise it means you need other pans that are more compatible. You will also notice with the noisy pans you are not getting the full cooking power of the stove because electeicity isnt being cunducted as it should.
