- Here is the new 2020 Audi RS6 Avant and this is the first drive review!
The new Audi RS6 is thankfully still running the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 developing 600hp and 800nm torque! The biggest advancement however is the rear wheel steer and RS6 specific diff that makes the agility a game changer combined with the incredible stopping performance of all new 10-piston carbon ceramic brakes!
As standard, the RS6 Avant is fitted with adaptive RS air suspension. This is 20mm lower than in the standard A6 Avant and 50% stiffer. Above 75mph, the RS6 will automatically lower its body by 10mm to improve stability. At lower speeds, a lift mode lets you raise the car by 20mm to keep its underside clear of particularly nasty speed humps. If you want a more sporty set-up, you can swap your RS6’s floaty air suspension for tauter steel springs and dampers with the optional R Dynamic Ride Control.
0-60 is achieved in 3.5 seconds in the new RS6 with an optional top speed of 190mph should you spec the requirement on Audi's configurator!

Amin Haq Most likely yes. There are so many SUVs over here, I see Bentley Bentaygas more often than a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or even a McLaren around where I live.

@sem Aka You obviously can t drive car if it isn t quattro...rwd are best for driving exp, a8 bmw7 a5 bmw 5 audi 4 bmw 3 not to mention m4 m3 m5...and audi even don t have true quattro it s haldex...just lookat new b9 and f30 that is car from 2012...they can teven compare G20 is best premium limousine and that is just fact....

This car is the ultimate family car! Performance like a supercar 4-wheel drive and You can have all your ski bags in the back and go for ski vacation or go for a shopping day i just love it. The m5 looks like all other bmws this looks diffrent from other audis.

New regulations are muting the exhaust a lot...same happened on the latest RS3, you HAVE to get some 200cel cats and remove some other bits if you want it to sound like it deserves (as it were before)
I've been hearing a lot of these comments about the muted noise from the Audi's. And the excuse has been regulations, which at first glance I understood and agreed with...HOWEVER, if that's the case, how come multiple youtubers arent complaining about the lack of noise from AMG Mercedes?? Seems the regulations argument isnt really valid.

Loved the video. How does this compare to the Porsche Taycan? Knowing it will shortly be offered in a sport turismo variant I can imagine the Porsche would be a perfect competitor to this.
Heres my thoughts on the 8spd transmission, being a previous s7 owner with the DCT and current owner of a rs7 performance I do not miss the DCT. The s7's DCT always lagged, was super jerky and honestly wasn't that fast. The 8spd is smoother and really quick, I personally don't see the need for a DCT in the new generation rs6/7 because then it would give up the daily drivability.
It really is a complete package that very few cars can compare. If I had the money, I would absolutely go for it. I hope you buy your own one.
Its the ultimate 'VOLKS WAGON' No pun intended! It truly ticks all the boxes for all that is required of a practical every day car. Wish I could have one too!

This car has it all.
Lets me serious. Most of us generally drive to work, family, kids, dog, traffic and dont want bone jarring suspension or unconfortable seats. However when we are ready we want speeeeddddd/performance/handling/feel. Audi and RS6 have nailed it. well done. (now just reduce the price in Australia so i can at least dream of owning one)

I really, really hate to say it, but this looks n' feels like a genuine step down from the Aston Martin DBX! Performance might be similar, but the luxury n' sheer openness of that cabin in the Aston! The Audi can't hold a candle to it; and this coming from a real Audi fan. I know what 2020 model I'll be setting my sights on, in the used car market, 3 years from now.. the DBX!
I drove a Dodge Magnum for years when I saw your RS6 I said there is the top luxury version of the wagon period!

Great review and great road, drove it repeatedly last year in a mustang. Interesting take on the suspension, air vs coil/spings. Just read Evo's review and they rate the coil/spings over the air setup. Did you drive both? Keep up the good work.

They don't fancy wagon/estate cars there. I'm not sure how well the E63 AMG wagon sold in the US.
I dont know but in canada its all over the place
abidamn our SUV culture is disgusting, everyone is more focused on AWD than good winter tires, so no one thinks a nice estate will do well in the winter. Its just people want to be the biggest thing on the road, not the most nimble.
The US simply doesn't but wagons due to the 70's stigma. I'm guilty, I bought a Trackhawk and didn't think to consider a E63 Wagon

mate i jumped in my mates tt 8s tfsi with a revo stage 1 and turbo back exhaust and the torque was actually mind boggling.the car felt like it was ready to break into another dimension,so i can only imagine how much more mad this car is despite the weight

The rs6 of the last generation ran a torque converter gearbox too - almost exactly the same model as is in the new one - and it's always been 8 speed

Get the car somehow... and you'll get the rest quite easy... but the dog does NOT go into this car.
I pray they put a Manual gearbox in it. I just enjoy the more intuitive driving experience with a manual. Keeps you engaged and you feel more in control. It would be fantastic.
Other than being astoundingly jealous that you’re out there driving THAT car for all it’s worth, it is exciting that Audi has made the right choice in bringing it back to the US. Great ride. Great road. Great feel. Great fun. What more could you ask for?

RS6 Avant, WELCOME to the USA - a small emerging economy where high end brands *struggle to sell in mass (*fine print - with the exception of Porsche, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley, Rolls Royce, McLaren, Bugatti, BMW, etc.)

This car is beautiful, fast and very usable. I want one to replace my S4 APR stage 2 car but my bank is saying don't do it. If I can fit it into my budget I will buy one.
