I was wondering about this. I have the C7 RS7 here in the US. My buddy over in Europe has the same year as mine and doesn't have the pops mine has. We both think it's due to the regulation that he has over there. I imagine the new RS6 here in the US will have them...time will tell.
All those Pops and bangs can be tuned or tuned out of almost every car you hear doing it. I also think it sounds like shit and don’t get why people like it but there’s not any difference between this engine and any of the other ones you hear making obnoxious noises.
I've wrote letters to Audi when I was 16 and we didn't get the RS2 in the USA. I wrote more when I was driving a B7 Avant, and even more when I had my beloved 2014 RS5. That's over 20 years of letters written to get this car here. Thank you Audi, I cant wait!

@@chasetingley1172 Your door sticker is referring to gross vehicle weight and not curb weight. Gross vehicle weight is the maximum amount the car would weigh with passengers and cargo. Actual weight of the w140 is around 4800 lbs.

DoctaM3 euro models(like the one in the vid)have the exhaust particulate filters that makes them super quiet. The new R8 has it as well and they can be removed.
If you have a look at the CARWOW UA-cam review of the RS6 you can hear the glorious V8 sound. I would expect though to need to fit it with an aftermarket exhaust kit for the best sound. 🖖

Just a comparative note: The 2nd gen Cadillac CTS-V from 10 years ago had a top speed of 191 and did it with less power and smaller steel brakes. In fact, at 590 power/torque, this RS6 Avant only has about 30 more HP/TQ than the 2nd gen CTS-V, which can be had as both a wagon AND with a manual transmission. And the CTS-V wagon weighed about 4400 lbs. Still heavy, but not as heavy as the Audi, basically negating the power difference,. Just saying, it helps to keep things in perspective. the CTS-V wagon was way ahead of its time and still to this day holds up to direct comparisons with cars 10 years newer.
Super slick interior overview shots in the beginning; nice update to the One Take format :) Even though I'm increasingly over teched up, high power modern cars, I'm genuinely super happy to see an RS Avant in the states...damn this thing looks good. RS Monitor may be the best use for a screen in a car for an enthusiast that's been done yet!
My 2003 RS6 sedan was my favorite car I've owned (don't tell my 911) and the new Avant is sure to be incredible! I recall mine being "governed" at 155mph but the real top speed was something like 186mph. I'll probably have to wait a decade to afford one, but it should be worth the wait!
The older I get and the more cars I see and work on, the more I appreciate a good interior.. and my God, that is a prime interior spec right there. Now I REALLY want one of these. Hopefully they'll depreciate just like most of the other German cars of the last decade or two

The all wheel drive system is a 40/60 front-rear split and through its active center diff distributes up to 85% of power to the rear wheels in Dynamic mode - same as the R8. Also it has a fully variable, electronically controlled self-locking differential on the rear axle, which is capable of torque vectoring. So yes, you could totally hoon it if you wanted.

Pilot Sport 4S for the 21s are only $1400 on tirerack. Seems like a good move. If you're a complete mentalist you could also run Sport Cup 2s haha. For the 22s PS4S are only $1600. Definitely the first mod for this car!
Love hot rod Audi's. I have a B9 S4 that I enjoy immensely. I balked at the RS5 Sportback cause I didn't think it was 30K better than my car. Had I bought that car would I think the RS6 is worth roughly twice the price of the 5? I dunno, maybe so. It sure does look the part. I say bravo Audi keep them coming. I'll need a replacement in 3-4 years.

Did you ever see what they cost in other countries in the past? You probably never paid attention to that! This is a high end Estate car. Not for the masses. It’s always been for the elite crowd that can afford them. Nothing has changed.
New camera equipment? The drive by shots look really clean and the inside camera/mount also looks great. You can really appreciate the focus/unfocusing of the cameras during the drive-by's.
No suv beats a wagon when it comes to handling. No crossover/suv Will take those fun corners without the risk of flipping. With this You get utility and fun at the same time. Too bad most people are missing out!

They said one of the reasons they brought it back to America is because they already have the a6 allroad and that engine in another car for ease of homologation so hopefully that means we can get a rs4 avant
It's the only car you'll ever need. Better practicality than a big SUV, handling of a regular sports sedan, looks BETTER than a sedan, as luxurious and refined as a car can get, and has the speed of a supercar, without the price of one. Not to mention that this RS6 drive train has been tested and proven to be EXTREMELY tough over the years, and can easily be tuned to 900-1000 hp and daily driven with absolutely no issues. The quattro system can handle over 1000hp, the gearbox at least 1000hp without any changes or upgrades. People drive these things in Germany on autobahn to work, 300 km/h cruising casually. Stock unlimited one will hit 330 km/h with no issues, and with a slight tune, you're looking at 350+.
The cars sold in the states should be louder. Euro cars are fitted with particulate filters that quieten down the exhaust. Most of the noise you here is piped into the cabin through the speakers. Get an Akrapovic exhaust mod to unlock more sound.

Get a Mustang GT. Only 0.4-0.5 seconds slower but almost 4 times cheaper than the RS6. The RS6 is not worth 130k.

I got to see this exact car in person. It was being stored at a building in Malibu that I was working on. Super clean car.
Makes sense as the road he is driving on is Decker Road between Malibu and the 101. Super fun drive with a capable vehicle.

The exhaust is so quiet compared to the C7. Throw on a couple Michelin’s and an Akrapovic. I’ll take it.
