It feels a little on-the-nose to say this, but the 2020 Audi RS6 Avant is, in a word, spectacular. I know. I know. "Automotive journalist loves 591-horsepower station wagon" isn't exactly breaking news. Yet after a day of driving the new RS6 wagon through the Malibu canyons in Southern California, here I am, thoroughly impressed and absolutely thrilled that, after more than a decade of begging, Audi has finally decided to sell one of its RS-badged longroofs in the good ol' US of A.
But now, America, it's time to put your money where your mouth is. Audi fulfilled its end of the deal by building a solid business case and doing the homologation work that's required to sell the RS6 Avant in the United States. That means you actually have to buy one. And you should. You really, really should.
No one thing about the RS6 Avant stands out as a piece de resistance. Rather, it's how this whole package comes together that makes it so appealing. It's the big V8. The sophisticated driveline. The sumptuous interior. The world-beating tech. Take all that and wrap it in sheet metal that isn't just pretty for a wagon, but downright arresting, full stop.
I can't think of a better way to say it, folks: This car f---
Under the hood, you'll find Audi's twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V8 engine, making 591 hp and 590 pound-feet of torque. Hit the checkered flag button on the steering wheel, hold the brakes and mash the throttle, and you'll activate launch control, allowing the RS6 Avant to rip off 3.6-second 0-to-60-mph runs. Should you have the space to keep going, the wagon will hit either 155 mph or 190 mph, depending on whether or not your car has the standard, 16.5-inch steel front brakes or the larger, 17.3-inch carbon-ceramic stoppers. (Both setups come with 14.5-inch rear rotors.) With great speed comes great responsibility, after all. - Авто та транспорт

Every now and then a car review becomes a perfect car film. This is one of those films, nailed every aspect and such a pleasure to watch. Top work guys.
The car aside, this is probably one of the most spectacular car reviews I've seen. Quality production, awesome edits and perfect shots. Top notch Carfection. Plus, the RS6 looks absolutely stunning!

Henry. Congratulations on an amazing video. Were sitting in the Shuttle with you guys after the E-Tron Sportback reveal and we were all so tired, and planning our next days with the RS6. Yet again, amazing work, and kudos to you both!
The black pack literally changed my opinion from "they overdid the styling of the exterior" to its 100% perfection.
Let's be real those aggressive cutouts in the rear bumper when trimmed in silver are way too much for an otherwise attractive vehicle

The Black styling pack is the must have on this car, I don't like the brushed aluminium look, although the carbon could be an option too

No kidding, if they took a pic of the RS6 by itself in the snow covered death valley they can EASILY sell that to Audi.
Since this premiered, I have watched this probably over 5 times. This is honestly one of the best car review films to be found on UA-cam and I cannot get enough of it. Carfection and Henry Catchpole are unrivalled.

Yea, talk about a once in a lifetime sort of thing for someone that would even live here. I wish I got a earlier notice otherwise I would have drove over from LA.
I was deployed to Ft. Irwin, California which is adjacent to Death Valley, while serving in the US Army back in the mid 80's. My unit was there from the beginning of August to the beginning of September and I vividly remember snowflakes and hail two days before we ended our training. I also remember temperatures exceeding 105° by 9am when we first arrived there as well.
Henry Catchpole is just going closer to perfection with every auto review.

What an absolutely magnificent film! The Carfection crew are far beyond car reviews, and with this piece has jumped on to actual film. This is truly beautiful.
I have no idea how you managed to do all of this shooting in the short time you had. The variety and quantity of shots is staggering.
Then, as many have pointed out, the edit is outstanding. Give that guy an award. And another one.
And Henry's narration is the icing on a triple-layer cake, absorbing the audience in the experience and taking us along for the journey in this fabulous new car.

I got the Audi A6 Avant Quattro 2020 and I absolutely love it. I imagine this must be something else as far as performance goes.

Just as long as you're prepared at that point to shell out $8k when the brake rotors need to be replaced, $2k for a broken headlight, $15k for a tranny etc...
Hmmm I don’t think this one will depreciate as much as other Audi models
I live in Europe and I'd struggle if I ever got one... The maintenance costs for it aren't cheap.
I get the feeling that these won't sell in huge numbers here, in part because of the price, but also because I feel like there is a larger number of people in the US who still just don't get the appeal of a fast wagon and will be more drawn to flashier cars in the price range. This is why a lot of wagon variants of performance cars tend to sell less here, but then ultimately retain their value better. I love wagons, and I hope I'm wrong and there is a shift in mindset, but I'm not holding my breath. I think there will be enough demand from enthusiast wanting to buy these used, with a limited stock, that these won't depreciate nearly as much as other Audis.
It'll depreciate like fuck when that stop/start hybrid motor garbage shits the bed. Why even factor in economical petrol usage into an RS6..? It's an RS6 with a 4L V8, it is not an economical car.
