In the anime is shown that when a trainer catches more than 6 pokemon, the pokemon gets teleported to the PC/to the pokemon professor research lab and/or that the ball shrinks and doesn´t allow its use. That would explain why not even the bad guys can use more than six pokemon.

This is an awesome detail that I would love to see more focus and worldbuilding on. If that was the case then maybe bad guys would opt to instead use a different capture method, never carrying Pokeballs because the technology is too well designed for their purpose. Maybe only using them for the initial capture and then uses something else from there?

@RadioactiveMagicGames the bad guys would probably hack and jailbreak their pokeballs or build their own counterfeit versions

There is one corollary to the first law you identified: You can carry a seventh Pokémon on your person if the seventh is exclusively used as a ride Pokémon.

This has been seen in the games I'll admit. But now that they are becoming more open world, I would actually this it to not be the case. Obviously the previous games used HMs to gate progress into something controllable, but I would personally really enjoy having to think about what I catch and bring (and raise in levels for protection against surprises) as part of my exploration of the world.

This topic reminds me of the Mystery Dungeon games. It's pretty clear that laws are practically non-existent, even though you can play as bounty hunters (among other roles). Every game you are part of some group striving to make the frontiers of the settled world more livable. That 'Wild West' sort of notion really helps to set the grounds for why issues are resolved by free agents taking commissions and bounties instead of Officer Magnezone.
Gen 5 also had a little more authority for the gym leaders. Clay and his construction workers was weirdly the one to take Team Plasma away and for some reason Elesa has the authority to raise and lower the drawbridge. Lenora and Burgh also help you pen Team Plasma in when they steal the Dragonite skull. It's clear that not only do have their own roles in private life as a [Insert Occupation], but they have a direct responsibility to help and protect the people in their area. (Also, the Striaton Gym allegedly gets decommissioned because they don't show up to help out in BW when Team Plasma's Castle erupts from the ground.) I feel like that greater integration of gym leaders to their community hasn't shown up since then.

Glad you think so! (To be honest, I had a little trouble with recording this time around, so I'm glad that didn't impact the quality!)

Speaking of the whole evil team thing, the Pokémon Fan Game “Pokémon Uranium” takes a different approach to it’s villian. Instead of a crime organization, in that fan game there is an allure of mystery about who could be going around and destroying the power plants. Eventually you encounter a lone trainer who has a Pokémon that can control that game’s corrupt nuclear Pokémon. So at the end of the game, you have a new villian who seems to be out for power and power alone.
    No spoilers please.

5:35 I'm almost certain that Pokemon Colosseum actually calls it Pokemon Dollars in the menu. That is a side series game, but it is a term the facts have used and wasn't just can made.

Ngl I really enjoy the idea of having grunts in the mid/ late game just send like 10 rattata at you all at once. It matches up well with them being relatively weak and unskilled trainers, but still being able to present some sort of challenge to the player. Bonus points if for the first round you only send out one pokemon and send out a second on the following turn

My advice don’t follow game of thrones like what Temtem did. It’s not bad but game of thrones is grounded.

I think making the world have realistic explanations would be fun for older players to discover. It should never become explained in game, rather off hand dialogue given to random npcs

@@yoboyajax5983 well there’s also the fact the tems in Temtem aren’t important to the plot.

"Legendary pokemon" aren't one of a kind in the game, are they? Some of the trainers you encounter have legendary Pokémon, and you can have at them same time.
