I really, really enjoyed making this video. I hope you like it!
We enjoyed watching. 🤗
ok
Yes! I enjoyed it
B4 this quarantine I used to work at a movie theater and carry this around with me and play it behind the movie screens at work
I really really enjoyed watching it Elliot'♡Micros are totally awesome
Bless my mother, she bought me this for christmas when I was 12-13 even though I already had an SP, she didn't know it was basically the same thing but wanted to surprise me, I love you mom ♥
Only 50 were made rip
@@moltengears7483 lol what there weren’t only 50 made lmao
@@MrAppbee huh?
well i searched it and apparently i there was only 50.... damn okay lol
@@moltengears7483 oh you meant this color in stupid. I thought you meant only 50 total game boy micros
Same c:
Gameboy micro and Pokemon Fire Red - everything what we need to survive today.
Pokemon Clover
Someone sent me a fake copy of firered which bummed me out... but my leaf green works fine :)
I own both of them and i play it in a daily
Emerald for me
@@baldybald100 you got yeeted LOL
Really underrated Game Boy, and quite possibly my favourite version.
I agree!
I have micro but actually prefer to play using my SP (AGS-100). Must be the size.
Yep..underrated and undersized..
@@markianclark9645 yes is a word
nope, but if you enjoy it then thats fine
“Searches for pink gameboy micro on eBay” all already expensive
These are so expensive! I never know where people find them so cheap.
J K Sometimes you go to a garage sell (yard sell/car boot sell) donlt know if it’s a thing in your country but some people donlt really know what they are selling and they are just like « yeah I found this little toy for kids in my attic must be crap let’s sell it 10$ ». But you have to be very lucky and go to a lot of garage sells. Also sometimes ot happens on ebay but it’s rare, plus, other people usually jump on the product as soon as it’s on the website so yeah. Sorry it was very long
@@Pingoinnn stop fucking apologizing you didn't do anything wrong
dog person would it
kill you to be nice?
@@nope6745 he’s just being blunt, knock it off, is humor a crime?
Love the Gameboy Micro....great video! I'll be doing a repair video on one of these.
Ah thanks Steve!
I have one lol
about 13 years ago, when I was a dumb kid, I came across one of the special Famicom themed Gameboy micro's used at Gamestop for $35. I bought it and a traded it to a friend a couple weeks later for an AGS-101 because I wanted a bigger screen. I never thought that after all these years it would be worth $200 - $300.
Fast2Furious4 300 lol i hate people who overprice shit
Micro is 130 buck on eBay you can get it for less at auction
@@notdyingsober The 20th anniversary Famicom themed one goes for $200 to $300.
You could buy it now for less then 200-300 but mostly at stuff like goodwill, mom and pop stores meaning you have to be lucky ti have one near you
Heres the thing how much did you sold it to him for?
My dad picked one of these up for me for my bday for $40. Best birthday gift I’ve every received to this day
I love my GBA Micro. Even by today's electronics standards they're tiny and I would say truly pocketable. And when you combine that with a flash cart (I'm personally a Omega guy myself) you literally have EVERY SINGLE GB/GBC/GBA GAME IN YOUR POCKET...yes yes you could use your phone but I need my real buttons. Awesome video. Love to see some more refurbs of the Micro.
What’s the pros of the omega vs this flash card?
I love the gamboy micro!! one interesting fact in the packaging ( in my experience anyways) comes with a template to cut out any picture you want and use it as a faceplate.
Deff deserves its place in gameboy history. This lil guy packs a punch.
sleeksm4 I love it!
I have two, I carry it everywhere, is part of my edc kit. I bought a classic nes cartrige that has over 100 games and also saves progress. I love it! I get lots of complements from people of all ages every time I pull it out. It"s great!
I know this is an old comment but I would like to know the name or where can I get the new cartridge or something like that. Also would love to see your edc. I’m always into edc especially if they carry a gb. Do you have a small case for it for when you carry it
Hey man, I just found your channel a few weeks ago, and I have been slightly addicted to your content. I've been learning SO much and have been so inspired to try and tinker with old gameboys now. Amazing quality of content. Keep up the great work and thanks for your art!
Thanks so much!
My friend had one of these, literally the only one I’ve seen. Such a cool little device but came out at a bad time
Yeah, the timing was pretty weird. I got one a couple years after the release, when they were still affordable -- great handheld! The screen was amazing
Never really realized how small the micro was until I saw this
It’s tiny!
@@TheRetroFuture n' cute ;)
The Retro Future I can’t find ANY micros even before the Co- (gets flashbacks of demonetization loopholes) I mean Virus Pandemic
I bought a Micro a few years ago from Japan. It is absolutely beautiful, came with a case, and was in perfect shape. The best part is that it a gorgeous purple!
Very nice!
Yes! I was waiting for a video of the Micro for quite a while now! So happy you finally did one! 😊
Enjoy! :)
The Retro Future Thank you :) Great vid, I love the Micro!
I've got a flash card in my Gameboy Micro and it's one of my favourite consoles to travel with. Might do a video on it some day. It's a lovely bit of 2000's tech kitsch. I agree though, the flash cart with GB/GBC support is a must. Love the face face plate.
In my coutry this is a forgotten console, and I loved learning more about it. Thanks :)
Enjoy!!
Absolutely love micro! I happened upon mine which had no idea at the time even existed, from a coworker friend from years ago back in 2013. He said he never played it and asked if I wanted it. Said he didn't know if it worked bc he didn't have a charger for it so I got a charger and it worked! Have kept it all this time and play it more than my sp, color, ds lite, or even my dmg and also game gear I've had since 1993. Love your videos man. Keep up the great vids!
Had one of these when I was doing a lot of business travel. The screen was great and I spent a lot of airport and flight time with it. Loved the portability and responsiveness of this little thing. Saved all the packaging and face plates and made a nice little sum when I sold it during a move. Would, of course, kind of like to have it back but the new generation of emulation handhelds have almost replaced it.
1:15 the anxiety watching you try to force the regular card in the GBM slot is immense.
One of my favorite portable consoles of all time. It actually fits in your pocket comfortably.
When it came out i was little, My sister got this for me on Christmas, she passed away a year later Miss you sis i know you looking out for me
My all time favorite model of GameBoy, I never leave home without it.
Really liked this format and delivery. Nice work.
Ah thanks very much!
So today we're playing AGBS games on a business card with batteries in it. Brilliant.
thanks for the frequent uploads during this time :)
Enjoy!
I lost mine some many years back, just yesterday I found one in perfect shape at a game shop in my old home town… I want all the games.. this is my fav gameboy by far
This thing is great.
I really need to get one of these, it goes along well with my iPod Nano.
One of my favorites from Nintendo. It’s such an interesting piece of tech from that time.
i got lucky and got myself a black one from japan before they got pricey. I discovered the retro future throught that refurb video. Thanks dude.
I bought my micro when it was still in the stores, albeit on the closeout end of its run. always amuses me when I hear how much I could get for it if I felt like selling it now. I'll never felt like selling it. its a cool little dude.
Hell yeah! This is my favourite gameboy cause it was my childhood gameboy and I still adore it so much!!
Nice video. I found my game boy micro again 2 weeks ago, still working and in all most perfect condition with only al little scratch in the bottom left corner. Replaying some games on it right now😁
Gameboy micro deserve the most to be talked about,to me this was the best thing I ever had going to school and no one knew it was a game or a mini game system 😂
Even though I was born in 2008, I got hand me downs from my older brother, and THIS gives me memories, TMNT, castlevania, rayman, banjo and Mario kart were my favourites
I loved my Gameboy Micro and passed many an hour in college with one. Had it taken when I was burgled 6 years ago unfortunately. I bought it off Ebay for £20 and shocked to see what they are worth now! Can't justify paying that to scratch the nostalgia itch haha
I love my Micro, it is still loads of fun to play.
Dam it! You made the micro look so good now i have to find 1 for myself.
I've wanted one of these for YEARS and 2 years ago I managed to get one in Japan in perfect conditions, with box, silver, I think it was for about 80$. I think is perfect with the EZ flash I have, that is smaller and fits perfectly on size. Best Game Boy ever design in my opinion.
Hey! Are the Japanese ones any different than the non-Japanese gameboy micros?
@@meredithmason1121nope! Gba era was world wide cross compatible so no regional locks
I’ve had my micro since is was like 6. Still love it
I had one and it was so slick, loved the design
I wish they would have made a larger version of this, I love the design and build, but the screen is just too small for me.
This dude basically made one from a fat DS, so
cheap

@@HayhurstChris People have been making stuff like that for ages, some peeps even went all out and made it look sick.
haha they should make a micro mini, pro, and pro max
Yeah it’s called a game boy advance
They did, it's called; GameBoy Advance
love the new intro bro. stay well my friend
Easily my favorite version of the Game Boy. So good!
this was my 3rd handheld gaming❤️❤️ first was game and watch tennis, 2nd gameboy light❤️❤️❤️ those were the days
I've got a hot pink one and it's probably my favourite portable console just for looks and the GBA game library. So good for travelling with a good long game!
I took my Gameboy Micro on a trip with me and it was a ton of fun. I do love the GBA formfactor though. Also good to know that the flash cart will allow GB and GBC games to play on it.
My second favorite handheld ever. Thanks for the video
You’re welcome!
Bruh what the heck you just blew my mind I had one of these my entire childhood and never knew about the brightness thing i think it was on full brightness my whole life 😂
I love the Micro, I got one of the Famicom colored ones for 80 bucks at goodwill. I love it!
Man, I'll never forget this! This is my first gaming console. :') i've played Pokemon emerald with this device when i was a kid 🥲
Bought mine new in Japan in 2005. Still loving it.
bought one of these back when they were new for my old girlfriend who never played games before, i remember being kinda jealous of the form factor and the changeable faceplate. very cool system
I think this console is the reason why my eyes are so messed up now
One of my favorite game boy ❤
Mine is coming tomorrow I think its such a cool system
Game boy micro is so underrated. Many great memories of playing worms with friends in study hall or metroid fusion on my own. I ordered early from Japan (famicom version) because I was so excited about it.
I agree! I love this thing.
My micro is new from 2005, I rarely play it, and when I do... the battery STILL WORKS! I'm surprised this battery from 2005 still works, am I blessed?!
I been playing with mine since you did that video on the EzFlash Omega. Nice bit of kit.
I had a pink micro and it was my first gaming device and i adored it
I have a Gameboy Micro that I impulse bought from an FYE store going out of business many years ago around when it came out!
I still have it but I lost the proprietary AC adapter but now knowing that you can buy a cable that cheap. It’s game time baby. 😈
I recently bought the Famicom version of this (CIB) from a Japanese eBay seller. Paid a pretty penny for it since it's a collector's item, but having it in my hands now makes it all worth it!
I love these videos gameboy color is my favorite!
Dude this is my favorite gameboy!! I have the famicom edition it is amazing!
Love your vid’s
Great little handheld. I bought one when they were out, only used it twice to be honest so it's sat in it's box on the shelf. At least it's still mint! Thought I'd drag it out but the screen is just too small for my 50 year old eyes....too proud to get glasses!
The green Gameboy micro was my first Gameboy I got when I was like 5 or 6 and I still have it :)
The Game Boy Micro is something I always had a bit of an interest in, but never really enough to pick one up. Like you said, it came out at the same time as the DS, and it wasn't backwards compatible. Something about the aesthetic of it and the extremely pocketable form factor though always stood out to me as being nice though. I may have to pick one up at some point as a sort of curiosity piece.
I have a gameboy micro living on my daily backpack for 2 years now
Tax-fraud-o-saurus Nice
Love the Ashens badge
Bad ass bro. I love the micro!
I just got my micro in the mail today and it's way cuter than I expected
The Micro is my favorite system, honestly
dude where have you been all my life?????? ima restore so many Gameboys Thankyou so much for being here on UA-cam!!!
Great video!
This thing has always amazed me before and after picking one up but now with the ever drive mini out there this thing is right up there with a soft modded Vita for the best portable handhelds to me
Would like to see a shell swap video (clear transparent) with the Gameboy Micro 👍 Good work as allways Elliot!
If I had the cash I'd definitely have an everdrive. I've been looking at one for so long I should have had it by now.. Guess it's my must buy for 2020!
The design reminds me of those digital photo keychains from around the same time
Just bought one for myself I like to play with it in my down time at my job
This is one of the coolest handhelds ever made.
I love the micro. It's my favorite tbh!
Hehe. I have a pink one. And I love it. Such a great console.
I love the gameboy micro!
The music is perfect :D
Yay!!
New video!
Finally found one! I searched for 9 months and I walked into my local game store and I seen it from a mile away. With the original faceplates and charger no box but whatever. 280 Canadian. My collection was empty without this.
I love the micro its my fave i have a silver one and a blue one
I still love my Famicom Edition Micro. It's by far my favorite rendition of the GBA
I like how the GB Micro's changeable faceplates carried over to the New 3ds.
Fenominal video, really fun to watch
I remember going ham on the barn yard game when I was like 5 on this device
I just ordered one, this'll be the second time I own one.
The micro came out before the DS. I bought my micro at gamestop and the guy was trying to convince me to wait for a DS. I ended up going back the next day to trade up to the new micro instead of a used one. Anyway, in gaming it is similar to a ps2 getting slim , stripped versions before the release of the ps3. The GBA platform also has gamecube/wii connectivity options that made it ADVANCE vs just color improvement (8bit/16bit/32bit).
When I play Mario Kart Super Circuit, it blows my mind that it's technically better cpu and graphics than a super Nintendo, and pocket sized! Yeah, the micro was peak for GBA. I had a gameboy (and eventually a gbc and gameboy player), so i did not mind that the micro didn't have backward compatibility. but now everdrives exist in gba format and it is nice to see it can give my micro new life.
Loving the Ashens badge :)
always wanted one as a kid. Saw it in game informer
Great video. I love me the gb micro myself. I have 2 of them.
Just found my gameboy micro while moving some old stuff around. Ordered a charger and got all my old GBA games lined up... Despite it being smaller, it is at least backlit, unlike 90% of SPs you'll find for sale online which are model ags-001.
