In this exercise video Meredith guides you through an advanced level, lower body workout using optional weights (light weight dumbbells and ankle weights) for added resistance.
Resistance exercises are a great way to not only build muscle but also add stability and balance. Focusing on lower body, the movements in this video are designed help create strength in lower body which helps with everyday movements like going up and down stairs. Having the stability you need especially as we age is an important aspect to staying independent in our later years.
This is an advanced routine so make sure you preview this workout before attempting it if you are unsure about your fitness level.
Remember to go at your own pace and take breaks when you need to. Keep your water close by and have a great workout!

Please let me know the weights of ankle weight and dumb bells- I use 1 kg each- occasionally 2 kg for dumb bells- I am 68 years old - Thanks a lot I love your work outs >
Hello! I use adjustable 5lb ankle weights, which are 3 lbs here. The dumbbells are 5 and 10lb sets. I hope this helps in any way. Use weight that is best for you, always!

Dear Meredith, thanks for the excellent workout providing continously for us. May I ask you how heavy are the ankle weights and dumbbells you are using?
Thank you, I am so glad you enjoy the workouts! I am using 10lb dumbbells and my ankle weights can go from 1-5lbs each, I have them at 3lbs.

May I suggest last week's video. The pair complement each other and it's the ideal routine for building muscle with proper rest. The tandem allows you to work each day while resting upper or lower body accordingly.
