In this exercise video Meredith is guiding you through a beginner level, seated dumbbell workout.
This is a full body routine also incorporating a timer with intervals of 30 seconds work and 10 seconds rest in between. This exercise is meant to work your whole body in a safe and effective manner.
We are using light dumbbells in this exercise so make sure you choose a weight that is best for you. Not too heavy as to allow for the full range of motion in these movements. You can also substitute cans of soup or water bottles if you don't have dumbbells.
Remember to only do movements that you are comfortable with and never force anything that causes you pain or discomfort. Keep your water close by, take breaks when you need to and have a great workout!

Perfect! I'm recovering from an injury right now and was looking for a little maintenance weight workout that I can do seated. Thanks a lot dear Meredith!

Thank you for labelling this as a beginner exercise, not just for seniors! I have a genetic predispossion for bad knees, which makes a lot of standard workout difficult, if not painful, for me to do. I can't wait to incorporate this into my daily routine and start my journey getting back into shape!

Thank you Meredith, as always, you videos are awesome! My husband and I, particularly like this one - he with 2 knee replacements and me with rotator cuff and lower back issues were able to do this one easily! Thank you again, your weight bearing exercises are great and sooooo good for us - as well sitting on a chair! 😉

Thank you for your class, first time I’ve ever tried dumbbell exercises and found it very beneficial and easier and less painful I thought it was going to be. It’s given me huge confidence to continue with this work out daily and build up slowly in hope to support my early stages of muscular dystrophy. I am also dieting so will also support fat loss I hope. So glad I found your work out. I know it’s for seniors and I am only 52 but do have soar weak muscles at times throughout my working week.

Hello Meredith. I have been working out with your videos for a few months. I have enjoyed and benefited so much from your fun and thoughtful classes. I love the reminders to maintain good posture (I have had bad posture since I was a child). I also feel that my coordination is improving , I also really like the way that you emphasize your breathing. Helps me to follow. The bottom line is that I am grateful every time I do one of your videos. p.s.love the cardio salsa dance moves and the kick boxing moves. ...Grateful in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

I’ve been scared to put my knee through range of motion because of clicks and cracks (no injuries according to MRI) and I’m becoming quite stiff. I’ll do this to gain some strength
