Glad to see another youtuber on the greatest journey ever! If you're open to a bit of suggestions though, I think it's better if you give more of your thoughts on the arcs rather than a full recap, I think the people who will follow you on this journey will value what you're feeling throughout instead of it being retold to them. But hey, that's just my two cents. It's still your choice at the end of the day. Again, welcome aboard! The story only gets better from here.
Hey! Thanks for the comment. I am going to be taking your (and others) suggestion for the next video. Still trying to work out how I want to do this - but next time will be more review than recap!
@@TheNerdLoungei agree with him. I’ve rewatched and reread the seres multiple times, not to mention watching reviews. So if a youtuber just recaps the whole thing, it’s pretty boring. Most of your viewers are already fans which don’t need to be reminded of every single thing. So best talk about your personal thoughts and feelings, only recapping when necessary to your thoughts on it 😊
"When does a man die? When they are shot through the heart by the bullet of a pistol? No. When they are ravaged by an incurable disease? No. When they drink a soup made from a poisonous mushroom!? No! It’s when… they are forgotten!" Best quote in OP.
Honorable mention for good moments: - Vivi telling Luffy he fails as a captain when he was about to atk the villagers when they shot Vivi. - Luffy climbing the mountain bare handed along with Nami and Sanji, which were unconscious. - Dr. Hiluluk's speech - The giant gold fish/Nanimonai Island is a reference to a tall tale that Usopp has said back in his village to Kaya. (thats why he said this feels familiar when he saw it)
Thank you for these points! I actually completely forgot about the Luffy, Vivi interaction, and looked it up after this. Such a great moment. Also, I should’ve put the Hiriluk speech in the top 5…
The emotional rollercoaster takes you on during its arcs/sagas, and especially during flashback is crazy. I find it hard to contain myself during Choppers flashback. Hope you continue to enjoy your journey across the seas - you are doing 1 thing really well, at the very least, going about it at your own pace !!!
My faveorite arc is the “something happens arc” at “someplace island” where “certain charecter” does “certain thing” I’m sure Yall know what I’m talking about
My ranking & review of each arc in the Arabasta (Alabasta) Saga: 1. Reverse Mountain: At long last, the journey begins. Laboon's entrance was just amazing, and the foreshadowed to the final island just gets ya excited. (9/10). 2. Whiskey Peak: It starts a little slow at first, but once Zoro suddenly steals the show is when we get the good stuff. However, the only downside to this arc was Luffy's reason to fight Zoro as that was so out of character for him. (7/10). 3. Little Garden: Figures the crew ends up on an island with dinosaurs & giants. Pretty good arc, especially with the giant warriors & Usopp finally getting some character development. (8/10). 4. Drum Island: Not only do we get a winter themed island, but we get the debut of the most beloved character in the Straw Hat crew. This arc does have it moments, but the only downside was the main villain, Wapol. (8/10). I won't reveal my rank and review of the Arabasta arc until the next video.
That panel of Luffy holding the flag is also one of my favorite panels. Gosh, I love Luffy. The translation is sometimes not so good, the island of the Giants is called "Elbaf". If you try to read it backwards, you will get why... and why the Usopp connection is even more obvious (since his name is a mix of "uso" = "lie" and the famous fable writer Aesop)
@@TheNerdLounge If I remember correctly there are exactly 6 instances where Oda wrote the name in Latin alphabet. Thrice Alabasta, thrice Arabasta... so it's kinda not known. Most just say Alabasta.
For your own convenience, and a better experience would recommend an Arc by Arc review instead of Saga reviews. Some later Sagas can be literally hundreds of chapters.
The character development in One Piece is amazing because it's so natural - it's slow and it's not on the nose, so people often miss it and think it's nonexistent. But in reality, people take time to change, and it's not always obvious where you should apply a lesson you learnt. In my opinion, this scene was somehow an extension of the lesson Shanks tried to teach Luffy with the mountain bandits, but Luffy still had and has a lot to learn. It's amazing to see him being willing to do so though! It'll be interesting to see if and how he applies this lesson in the future!
One Piece is the greatest story ever written. Be careful showing all those panels though as the Toei is quite litigious. Wouldn't want all your effort to be ripped away from you. Glad you're enjoying the journey!
@@Aviertje oh my bad you're right. My understanding is they go after really anyone that shows alot of panels from OP the way Toei goes after people that use clips or stills from the anime.
Hi, you’re not the first person that’s said this. I don’t watch many other One Piece creators for fear of spoilers - what do they show in their videos?
@@TheNerdLounge that's a good question. And a good move. Don't even google anything no matter how benign as you will be spoiled. Usually just themselves. Or they have an artist that draws things that are edited in. Maybe a panel here or there but I just know once you're on the company's radar they'll pull everything down they can. I guess I don't have a great answer or a creative one. But the One Piece community is very large and mostly friendly so maybe ask for advice in a video or a community post and I'm sure you'll get some ideas.
being at chapter 900, its crazy how some things from all the way from arabasta is called mentioned so much later idk if this is a spoiler hopefully its common knowledge that the author wont hesitate to bring back past elements

@@ThePriceIsNeverRightI think he's talking about the arc where Sniper King and Con D Oriano fight Gaimon for the One Piece.

Toei has no rights over the manga panels; they create the anime. Shueisha (and potentially Viz) are the ones who have the power over the manga.
