That is the issue of these types of plans, when you plan for one thing and only one thing. When you get there, and you completed your goal. You lose your identity, and you lose the will to live as your life’s goal is done. It is a sad truth, and thus why it’s one of the mains to cause death or depression

SJSJSJD OK SO- There was one part in the baby hotline animatic that confused me but after rewatching this series for like the 7th time I think I have a theory so in this bit Mumbo is saying no to some unknown request and NPG snaps him into Mumbot. It always confused me ‘cause NPG wasn’t disguised at Grian or anything and he had all his metal bits undisguised. BUT!! I think it has to do with the glitch-itis our semi-not-so-lovable antagonist has been experiencing as of late. This glitching has been present since Baby Hotline and can also be seen in future videos like Harder Better Faster Stronger and Finale, and in the more recent animatics, it seems to be getting worse. One of the comments Dr. Siren made on this video was that NPG was an outdated boi by about 4 years. Then he gets onto hermitcraft and starts rapidly thanos-gauntleting everything and using all his energy. If you’ve ever had an old Ipad or tablet you know that the older one doesn’t have as good a battery and can’t handle big apps or complicated systems, and if you try and use them anyways they glitch n crash and stuff. But back to Baby Hotline. the Galactic around 30 seconds into Baby Hotline says “help me please” and then it goes straight to that Mumbo thing. Mumbo’s a redstone lad and he’s made robots like Grum and Jrum. He’s also the one that freed NPG and was an overall swell guy to him after NPG took real G’s place cause realG and him are close friends and whatnot. Thus, NPG probably trusts Mumbo a bunch. “But sketchbook,” you may ask, “you’ve just been rambling nonsense for ages. what does this have to do with anything?” Well I imagine that in Baby Hotline, the reason that NPG snapped Mumboi into Mumbot is because he asked him for help. He knew his systems were overloading and thought maybe Mumbo could upgrade or fix him or something. Since he trusted him, he revealed himself to be NPG and asked if he would help. But like, NPG did kinda kidnap Grian and Xisuma and Joe and turn Cleo into RoboCleo sooo Mumbo probably wasn’t too chuffed with NPG at that moment. He said no and NPG was like, “Well if you won’t help me then I’ll make you help me” and then boom Mumbot But seeing as NPG’s glitch-itis has only gotten worse I think it’s safe to assume that Mumbot couldn’t do very much to fix NPG. He was able to help keep him like energized and powered up and whatnot but couldn’t really do much more than that actually maybe overflowing him with energy and sending an electric shock 5rough his body to keep him alive might have contributed to his glitch-itis getting worse also after the pitiful children animatic i’m not sure how helpful Mumbot was trying to be djdjdjdj dangit Mumbot I wanted an NPG redemption arc but now he’s gonna hecking explode or somethin anyways I’ve taken up enough of your time if you’ve read this far massive props to you mysterious reader leave it to me to hook onto the least important part of this video lol

NPC Grian is kinda reminding me of Alexander the Great in this one. Has huge success and conquers all the known kingdoms and lands but... what to do afterwards? Your now a leader not a conquer. Will NPG adapt or fail and fracture much like Alexander’s empire in ancient times? We’ll see.

This was great! I was listening to some songs from the movie "Spirit" and the song "Sound the Bugle" could work for closet gang. I imagine at the instrumental beginning, camera pans over NPC Gang, goes to Scar and Doc missing their friends, looks at the rustic house (I'm guessing it's a rustic house), goes inside and into the closet to see Closet Gang being sad. Grian starts singing (because yes), Grian stops singing then someone else continues with a line or two. They "pass" the lines with each other. Xisuma and BDubs (maybe some other hermits as well) watch their friends give up with hoping for freedom. X, BDubs, and maybe others join in at the end and bring their friend's spirits back up. In the song, the line about being a wounded soldier, I feel that False or someone who's been stabbed would sing that part. I've had this thought for a little while. Siren, you don't have to do this or this song. This is kind of a suggestion and I thought it'd be a sad and cool song, perfect for Closet Gang. I am loving this series! I doubt anyone will see this because it's me replying to my own comment and it's been a few days this part came out. Anyways, I thought of a song that could possibly work for the Feather Weight AU. The song is called "No News" by Lone Star. I thought it could work for when Grian is hiding out at Xisuma's base. Mumbo could be singing it, missing Grian and thinking of what could have possibly had happened to his friend. Did he get locked in a bathroom? Joined a cult? Joined the Klan? 3:30 Idk why but this part always broke me. Mumbot expression is just- its like he's thinking "am I a mistake? Is it my fault that you're like this" ajdbajnsjajs
This really puts into perspective about what he's done. It started with him getting revenge on Grian, and trying to cover it up. But when it started becoming unraveled, he had to dust half the server and convert the other half to NPC's. He never wanted this, he just wanted love. And now he realizes what he's done, and it's hurting him. The others go to him for what to do next, because they're mostly under his influence. So the NPC's are kinda trying to make him happy, like they were designed to. But since the NPC's are under his influence, they can feel his emotions, understand what they've become, understand what happened. This is why they cry. And when he says it's time for him to go, he means that he doesn't know his purpose. He did what he wanted to do. Now what? Them sitting him on the diamond throne, encouraging him, is like how he later tells himself (Ready as I'll Ever Be) that what he did was right. This then encourages him for the future.
Especially the glitchy NPC at the end?? I’m kinda nervous... maybe he pays a visit to the closet gang out of guilt in the next part? NPC is definitely having major doubts at this point
I believe the antagonist May be something external from a character in particular, especially when given so much of NPC’s viewpoint. Perhaps the antagonist in this story is actually trauma - the trauma of being abandoned in a cabinet for so long. NPC is reacting to that trauma in the only way he knows how - by returning the favor to those he deems an actual threat and making those who make him feel something that isn’t that traumatic emotion of abandonment love him unconditionally and rely on him exclusively for their needs to be met. NPC just wants to feel wanted and loved and appears to be attempting to accomplish that goal in an irrational, but unfortunately effective, manner.
NPG just having a breakdown and all of them crying except Mumbo who helps really shows how diffrent he is! I still think his slight independence is going to have a major part to play later! Either in favor of NPG or the closet gang. Also this, like all of you animatics, is beautiful!
Is it bad that I just want to give NPCG a hug to make him feel better? Poor angsty boy needs a happy ending :( The emotion portrayed in this, how he realizes that he now has to live with what he's done (and he feels bad about it), that he never really expected to get this far and so is lost and confused on what to do next; and to top it off, he's glitching and that's probably very painful for him.

Just like the last animatic I’m WEAK for the timing and expression work for NPG in this! The story telling is amazing and *this made me feel. This made me feel a lot.* so far this is probably my favorite in the series (I’m just going through them all ^^” ) because I’m a sucker for watching people come to a realization of what they’ve done! NPC Grian is kinda reminding me of Alexander the Great in this one. Has huge success and conquers all the known kingdoms and lands but... what to do afterwards? Your now a leader not a conquer. Will NPG adapt or fail and fracture much like Alexander’s empire in ancient times? We’ll see.

im glad that this series introduced me to both Be More Chill and AJR
This was great! I was listening to some songs from the movie "Spirit" and the song "Sound the Bugle" could work for closet gang. I imagine at the instrumental beginning, camera pans over NPC Gang, goes to Scar and Doc missing their friends, looks at the rustic house (I'm guessing it's a rustic house), goes inside and into the closet to see Closet Gang being sad. Grian starts singing (because yes), Grian stops singing then someone else continues with a line or two. They "pass" the lines with each other. Xisuma and BDubs (maybe some other hermits as well) watch their friends give up with hoping for freedom. X, BDubs, and maybe others join in at the end and bring their friend's spirits back up. In the song, the line about being a wounded soldier, I feel that False or someone who's been stabbed would sing that part.
I've had this thought for a little while. Siren, you don't have to do this or this song. This is kind of a suggestion and I thought it'd be a sad and cool song, perfect for Closet Gang. I am loving this series!

I doubt anyone will see this because it's me replying to my own comment and it's been a few days this part came out. Anyways, I thought of a song that could possibly work for the Feather Weight AU. The song is called "No News" by Lone Star. I thought it could work for when Grian is hiding out at Xisuma's base. Mumbo could be singing it, missing Grian and thinking of what could have possibly had happened to his friend. Did he get locked in a bathroom? Joined a cult? Joined the Klan? Or maybe came back as a parrot head. (The lyrics of this song is great)

This really puts into perspective about what he's done.
It started with him getting revenge on Grian, and trying to cover it up.
But when it started becoming unraveled, he had to dust half the server and convert the other half to NPC's.
He never wanted this, he just wanted love.
And now he realizes what he's done, and it's hurting him. The others go to him for what to do next, because they're mostly under his influence.
So the NPC's are kinda trying to make him happy, like they were designed to.
But since the NPC's are under his influence, they can feel his emotions, understand what they've become, understand what happened. This is why they cry.
And when he says it's time for him to go, he means that he doesn't know his purpose. He did what he wanted to do. Now what?
Them sitting him on the diamond throne, encouraging him, is like how he later tells himself (Ready as I'll Ever Be) that what he did was right.
This then encourages him for the future.

OKAY BUT IS NPG REALLY THE ANTAGONIST BECAUSE I AM FEELING TOO MANY FEELINGS FOR THAT TO BE TRUE
It's like underverse kinda if you look at it with that type of thing, "It's all just a bunch of people with a different opinion." i'd say
I believe the antagonist May be something external from a character in particular, especially when given so much of NPC’s viewpoint. Perhaps the antagonist in this story is actually trauma - the trauma of being abandoned in a cabinet for so long. NPC is reacting to that trauma in the only way he knows how - by returning the favor to those he deems an actual threat and making those who make him feel something that isn’t that traumatic emotion of abandonment love him unconditionally and rely on him exclusively for their needs to be met. NPC just wants to feel wanted and loved and appears to be attempting to accomplish that goal in an irrational, but unfortunately effective, manner.

The emotion portrayed in this, how he realizes that he now has to live with what he's done (and he feels bad about it), that he never really expected to get this far and so is lost and confused on what to do next; and to top it off, he's glitching and that's probably very painful for him.

Just like the last animatic I’m WEAK for the timing and expression work for NPG in this! The story telling is amazing and *this made me feel. This made me feel a lot.* so far this is probably my favorite in the series (I’m just going through them all ^^” ) because I’m a sucker for watching people come to a realization of what they’ve done!
