Love the videos, and all the work I do, and may be sending you my Prodigy 5”. My thoughts are the Gangas Port looked flatter. I would only say when doing a comparison video please don’t move camera angle….. it’s hard to tell the difference. You should do a slo mo comparison and stack the videos so we can see them all at one time!!!!! Keep up the great work!!!
In test comparing them, Roger Barrera and crew agreed that the Stack port, which works very similar to a v-8 port (only ni line), gave a softer less snappy recoil pulse. KnifeMaker
Every time I watch your vids I think that’s the one! They are all great! You are correct, there is not just one gun but “options” I will be sending you my DS for some work!
I have a ported glock 17 thats very similar to the V8, picked it up from AIM Surplus I gotta say that it's a complete game changer. Looks like the smaller holes of that style of porting have a higher pressure pushing the muzzle down than a traditional comp or chunk port. Also do you think a glock could be chunk ported? That's something I'd like to try
I'd be interested in seeing how well the Monsoon Tactical Grandmaster Genghis Komp Package works. Basically, has three port holes in the barrel behind the Genghis Komp as well as lighting cuts on the slide.
I know the tac pro comes with v8 ports and it takes away from velocity a good bit. Not enough to be a factor in a self defense situation, but it’s definitely loosing pressure. It’s a trade off. I personally would rather have the flatter option for target acquisition because the bullet is still traveling fast enough to get the job done.
I just bought a 4.25 prodigy I'll be sending you in a few months for your basic work and maybe have you send it for porting maybe pvd. I want to shoot it stock a little first. Maybe polish the feed ramp and the disconnector so it runs ok. Possibly a 8 lb recoil spring if I can find one.
@Skips Gunz will be a couple months before I can save up the money. But definitely going to do it. I wanted to learn to do it myself. But the price of the parts alone is more money than your service and I will know it's done right if I send it to you.
The big difference might be, with chunk port and ghengis comp you aren’t covering the front sight in gas. The porting on my glocks always blacks out the front sight asap.
Hey skip, awesome video as usual bro!!! I have a cz 75 & I’d like to know if v8 ports could be done on that setup? Also are the guns on the wall for sale??

Something else never addressed. Ever notice that he never shoots for accuracy. sure, spry and pray on steel, but steel lies! Rest them and shoot paper. Paper doesn't lie. Now, with that said, one of his regular and happy customers in another vid stated that at 7 yards they are accurate, however at longer ranges the accuracy falls apart. And I know exactly why. I've been porting 1911's for over 40 years. All or most of the high priced porters out there mill the ports and charge 300 to 400 usd. But just as in my Knife work, the largest gain in perfection is in the last 5% of the work. Milling of the ports doesn't take long at all. However, back chamfering the holes inside the bbl. and fully lapping the barrel so that no metal is ahved from the bullet or disturbed by blow by such as was the case with the Chunk Port takes 6 to 10 hours of hard work. Most skip this and make fast work. Sadly at the cost of accuracy. My porting and lapping not only does not affect accuracy, but many times gives a marked improvement in target accuracy. Not to mention much faster times. Sadly, I don't offer opt to the general public. But I would be more than willing to teach my technique to any porter that is willing to go the extra steps to accuracy. KnifeMaker/Medically Retired after 47 years in the shop.
Someone plz send this man a Vulcan Stacc/Ignis port C2 so he can do the ultimate aftermarket port/comp 2011 gun review. I think the V8 shot the most flat and cycled faster but personally looks wise I like the looks of the Genghis Komp or Vulcan Ignis ports.
I love the look of the comps, but the V8 ports look super flat. I've seen other comparisons where they say the comp cut makes the slide cycle faster, but the V8 port is flatter. So I guess it depends on personal preference...
I've heard that with the chunk ports or similar cuts that it can cause ur rounds to really tumble or cause the projectile to do funky things especially on shots at distance. Have u noticed anything similar?
How did you obtain an extra slide? I adopted a c2 and the previous guy took a grinder to the slide serrations…staccato wants $1,300 to replace the slide.
I’m not sure why I have a different slide? That’s 2 separate guns. Depends on how bad the angle grinder job is but we do slide modifications if interested Www.SkipsGuns.com
as far as performance, 'feels' like it's better to put the upforce at the end of the slide/ barrel. also vporting is nice but man is it loud, comparably. close to unpleasant to shoot at indoor cement ranges w poor sound baffling. seems like for me the all in one port, is better than the face blast v porting.
Hey Brother, is there anything you can do to my staccato CS to make it more aesthetically pleasing BUT ....more importantly flatter shooting and tamer yet?
Have you ever had any issues with either your c2 or p that are v8 ported?also do you carry either?lastly have you ever shot them from the low and ready like with your arms noe extended?
I’ve watched a handful of your videos, I’m curious… What do you think would have a higher velocity… A C2 with a compensator or a P with porting done to it? I don’t know if I’ve ever seen you chronograph anything but figured I would ask if you had an idea. I know it doesn’t really matter, but considering they would end up at about the same length, I’m curious. Thoughts?
Sure, we can all afford to just buy them all. Title says or ask, whos the flatter. Turned out to be premium clickbait. Totally missed what the vid was supposed to be about. Never did get to a point unless you have tons of money to blow. GRRRR! It did answer which one has the most apparent concussion to the shooter, but that wasn't the question was it. With the camera angle different with ever gun tested, there was no way for a viewer to tell much of anything and probably why there was such differing opinions of which was flatter. As you are the machinist and tester, an opinion would have been nice. It was expected! If you cannot critique your own work, how can you expect a viewer to judge with the angles provided? Having owned both comped, stacc ports and V-8, I can tell you that the inside of the gun is filthy with a stacc or V-8 whereas a comp is much cleaner. considering that powder residue is highly abrasive, the barrel to slide fit would remain tighter for longer with a comp compared to a ported gun. An issue never addresses by any maker. Then there is the blackening of the fiber optic front site on a ported gun. Another issue if not depending on a optic rather than the iron sights. KnifeMaker
The chunk looks way easier to machine but the v8 is probably my favorite look.
EDM would be perfect!
its the exact opposite... you have to back bore the barrels for the comps

V8 looks to be the most effective
Ghengis comp looked the best.
Looks like the Ghengis Comp had more flip and recoil. The V8 looked to be the flattest.
Yes but the v8 on smaller guns is concussive to the shooter so like everything pros and cons I guess

From what I heard it’s about 75 to 100ft reduction
@@Texas_ballisticsit’s not that much.. as long as they started as equivalent lengths, 30-50 fps is more realistic.
