  • Here's why I bought 2024 Toyota 4Runner in the Underground Color. I primarily wanted a dependable vehicle that I can purchase after the lease was up and would be enjoyable to drive on a day to day basis. See my Lexus GX 460 Buyer's Guide here: • 2010-2023 Lexus GX 460...

    Totally forgot to mention my thoughts regarding the 2023 Lexus GX 460. AutoCompanion, another broker I'm affiliated with was offering 12% off MSRP on the 2023 GX however, the overall cost would have been higher than the 4Runner. I do love both the GX and 4Runner, both are a blessing to own. Here's my GX Buyer's Guide here: ua-cam.com/video/f2UN-DMzH40/v-deo.html

    Good informative review. In January I purchased a new SR5 2wd at a nice discount. It has all I need and I love it. I feel like you do about driving it. Very connected and enjoyable. I'm 67 so this should be the last vehicle I'll need. I drive fairly easy and with the 2wd I've averaged 22.0 for the first 2000 miles I've driven. I'm comfortable with that! Hope you enjoy yours!

    Wow I think you made a solid choice. Yes this vehicle is old and it gets horrendous gas mileage, but you bought a vehicle that is meant to last even after the least is up: it will give you little to no problems, and it just has that Toyota build quality. Plus, you get that offroad capability. And yes it has character from the harsh ride quality, to the rugged look, the old 4.0L V6 with that 5-speed automatic, and the steering is very slow and truckish. Not a lot of vehicles ride like this anymore, and the 4Runner is one of those vehicles that I think is so different from many other midsize SUVs out there. I would be happy if Toyota still kept this generation 4Runner like this and sells it like this every year.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  3 місяці тому +5

      Thank you my friend yea character was super important to me and with so many new cars lacking quality, it is nice to know I can buy this out if I want.

      It's gas mileage isn't bad for what it is. Direct competitors get only a few miles per gallon.

    • @DJR33333
      @DJR33333 19 днів тому

      @@Zenergistagreed. On longer trips where I’m going 60-70 mpg, I almost always get 20-23 mpg. Thats not that bad. It’s city driving where it struggles, but if you’re mostly doing city driving, there’s lots of reasons not to buy this. The 4Runner is for cruising along on road trips IMO.

    I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in Leasing a vehicle with option to finance at the end. I just got the new Underground 4runner Limited, it has been my dream car for years and never could afford it but now I can. I've been leasing for the past few years just so I don't have to worry about maintenance and repair costs and that is why I've always leased Toyotas from the Yaris all the way up to Tundra which was my previous vehicle. I could not be happier and I'm really enjoying this vehicle and plan to keep it for many years to come.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  29 днів тому +1

      Exactly my friend it's a phenomenal strategy to get into high MSRP/High Resale value vehicles. Even if you're unable to purchase at the end or don't want to anymore, you should at least have positive equity left over at the end of the lease which effectively means you're driving new cars for next to nothing while never worrying about maintenance or repairs ever again. If you have a business to write off against then it's game over that's the ultimate hack assuming you talk to an accountant about it first.

    Was dead set on the same exact spec you have but being in CA, markups are stupid on these vehicles. I was fortunate enough to buy one used as a trade in at my dealer. Love my 2024 Off Road Premium. The car that I traded in when I bought the 4Runner, a 2009 Kia Borrego, was surprisingly very high quality and reliable too. Everything still worked on it after 15 years. Every little button worked perfectly. Other than brakes, tires, bulbs and fluids the only things replaced over the 15 years were the hydraulics on the back gate, driver sun visor and wheel bearings on the passenger front. Would love to see a UA-camr say good things about the Borrego, but it seems like there are no car tubers on the internet with experience with the vehicle. It probably would've been worth more at trade-in had people known this car can do 250k miles standing on its head.

My late stepfather had a Prado, very good vehicle that he put 350,000 kilometres on, but I didn’t like how rough the diesel engine idled at the lights, otherwise I would have considered keeping it after he passed. I detailed it for sale and it looked exceptional. I was cross shopping different cars and was ultimately between this and the Honda Pilot Trailsport. I lived with the 4Runner SR5 trim for about two weeks and had this love/hate relationship with it. It drives like a truck and felt so indestructible but the fuel economy and infotainment system were just awful for me. I ended up choosing the Honda Pilot Trailsport because it's like the Jack of All Trades. It drives so well on road and is surprisingly light. It cannot off-road as well as the 4Runner but it can handle enough with rough terrain and bad weather.

      Ah gotcha yea the previous gen accord like what you had was def more fun than the new one. If you want fun you could look into the new Integra A Spec Manual comes with a hatch so it's practical leases for about 450 a month I think could save more if you did a one pay lease. Can hit up AC for more info.
      If you want to stick with Toyota, weirdly enough I like the Crown a lot. It's hybrid and AWD, Jim is offering 13% off msrp on those and lease is around 500 maybe less if you do one pay.
      If you can move up in budget about 800 a month can get you a new Audi SQ5 or S5 Sportback. But I think the Integra is best bang for the buck with the manual since you also get great fuel economy.

    IMO there really are no competing products to the Toyota 4Runner, It is a well proven reliable and durable vehicle that will give you very few bad surprises, if any. It may not be as high tech, but that another reason for it's reliability. The power train is bullet-proof, the interior may be a little spartan, but it's nice and comfortable. All in all you can't go wrong with a 4Runner. I have a 2003 V8 limited AWD and it will be around for a long time yet.

    Just curious when you say MSRP are you talking about TSRP? Most of these SR5 premium have blackout packages where i'm from that cost $3,500(tires, TRD wheels, etc). So for instance $46,000 msrp plus deliver, handling, processing fee, $1460, plus blackout package, $3,500, would be $46,000+$3500+$1460=TSRP $50,960. It's confusing since Toyota implemented that stupid TSRP pricing. Wonder if people are paying under the actual MSRP eliminating the add on fees(e.g. blackout package, connectivity kit, crossbar, etc).

    Timely video. I’m currently looking at a new 2024 4Runner that has an MSRP of $54,400. It’s the color that I want and it has all the options that I was looking for (KDSS being the main option that I was looking for).
    The dealership has an “employee pricing” discount of $1,495, but as you mentioned in your video about most if not close to all Toyota dealerships, they try to offset that “discount” with other stuff like window tinting, nitrogen tire filling, etc.
    This dealership includes that package at a cost of $1,495, which is the same price as their “discount.” The vehicle is about two weeks away before arriving to the dealership, so I could negotiate that package off the purchase price, correct?
    If I manage to do that, what would you recommend to be a very good deal off the MSRP of the vehicle? 2K tops after negotiating off the $1,495 package, keeping the “employee pricing” discount of $1,495 and maybe negotiating an additional $500 off the MSRP? Any advice would be appreciated.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  3 місяці тому

      Yea if you're negotiating on your own, I would go to that dealership's website, find the General Manager's email and email them saying You will buy that 4Runner when it hits your dealership at 2K off msrp and I don't want any additional add ons, fees, etc. aside from taxes, tags, and dealer fees.
      So 2k off MSRP out the door with taxes, tags, and dealer fees. See if they go for it all you can do is hope right. But if they know some local guy is going to buy at full price with add ons then it's over they won't budge

    I was gonna do that lease with option to buy move, but nah I changed my mind. More money goes towards the balance if you just finance it, and they hold their value well enough that you can not get crushed if you change your mind and wanna get out of it in 3 years. So it’s kind of a totally different 3 year uncertainty strategy.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  2 місяці тому

      With 5-8% interest rates on new 4runner financing, more money actually does not go toward the balance especially when you factor in the "front loaded nature" of financing.
      You pay more in interest in the first few years of the loan similar to a mortgage.
      But you're right tho, due to high resale value this isn't a terrible issue on a 4runner
      Low interest rate lease hacks really come into play for luxury cars that don't hold value well. That's where you have to pull out all the stops.
      You can be sloppy in how you purchase a 4Runner and still come out relatively ok.

    Strongly disagree that the ride quality is inferior w/ 20" wheels and X-Reas Suspention. The Limited is a better value for features then SR5 Premium. Some folks don't like full-time 4wd in the Limited. You can easily put any wheel/tire on the Limited.

    • @MeynMotorGroup

      Not my words my friend, Limited owners have shared the same thoughts for years now.
      It's not difficult to see why, massive 20" heavy wheels crash over bumps.
      Small light weight 17" wheels and a lot of side wall will of course help ride quality tremendously.
      All models use the same suspension except for TRD Pro, wheel size and Tire Pressure are the only things that contribute to difference in ride quality.
      It's nice that Limited comes with cooled seats but I never use them. Thank you and God Bless.

    Этот автомобиль надежен как автомат калашникова. Сожаление о том что Тойота кинула своих пользователей и в 6м покалении установила двигатели 2.4 турбо и гибрид. Эти машины нельзя будет использовать постоянно в тяжелых условиях никто не будет рисковать выехать за пределы населенного пункта дальше чем за 50 киллометров. До того места где есть хоть один автосервис . На вторичном рынке данный автомобиль из за своей надежности имеет хорошую ликвидность. И по стоимости с БМВ Х5 того же года будет стоить дороже. Всем любителям Тойота Форанер мира, любви и добра. Вы лучшие братья.
