- This oil is a powerful anti-inflammatory, and a terrific way to support your pet's immune system and overall health, but it's been given a bad rap in recent years. Not only is it one of the best topical therapies, but it's also excellent for brushing teeth, staving off doggy dementia and much more.
Carmina O’Connor and Charisa Antigua are twin sisters and the entrepreneurs behind CocoTherapy, a line of organic coconut oil products.
In the Philippines, Carmina and Charisa were raised with an understanding of the nourishing and healing properties of coconut oil; now in the U.S., the sisters have grown their family’s third generation business into a flourishing enterprise.
Coconut oil can be used to soothe and heal a wide range of skin issues in pets; given orally, it offers tremendous health benefits thanks to its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties.
MCT oil is also beneficial for slowing canine cognitive decline and can help reduce seizure potential in epileptic dogs.

Awesome interview packed with information. Time to start adding coconut oil❤
Ladies, thank you so so much for spreading this information. Our kitten loves coconut oil. Her energy is so much higher, fur shines so nicely and she is so so healthy. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you, Dr. Becker, in your efforts to educate us in providing our furry best friends with much happier and healthier lives, I do appreciate it!
Lovely interview. My dogs LOVE coconut oil and they do get it in their diet. I think I will increase their frequency of having it in their diet. I have used it topically on one of them, but then the whole pack wants to come and lick it off. LOL
don't overuse, it can have negative side effects like vomiting and diarrhea
Am I the only one? My flamepoint siamese HATES coconut oil. He runs out of the room when he hears me unscrewing the lid to apply to my dry skin.
I'm going to try mixing a tiny bit of olive oil in his food instead.
I use fish oil and coconut oil as well with a group of different supplements for my dog with TCC cancer.
my cat does like coconut oil. I will put it out everyday from now on.
Saturated animal fat from animals does NOT clog your arteries. You need to catch up with current research
I wish you have given a hint at the quantity of coconut oil to feed the dog. I am really interested on how much to feed the little dogs.
Gonna add to my diet and my dog's.
My kittens have stomatitis , I am feeding them organic virgin coconut oil twice a day. Do you recommend anything additional for her inflamed gums and they also have upper respiratory issues.
Who much would you give a day
Can cats have coconut oil. How much.
How much coconut oil do you give them?
That’s so funny, listening to your story about coconuts when you when young. I had the exact same experience. My parents had money, but the idea of not paying the bulk rate for fruits and vegetables was absurd. I bet it really wasn’t that expensive…
I’ve never seen anything miraculous happen with coconut oil for me or for my pets. When I fed it to my pets, they just started eating poop.
What are MCTS?????
Olive oil has both saturated and unsaturated fats. So both types of fat are good for you. It's only when they chemically dehydrogenate oils that it's bad for us
It’s great for humans too. We humans need saturated fat too!! Great for our teeth as well.
What happened to the healthy pets website? Now you're redirected to barks and whiskers but the new site contains barely one tenth of the wealth of information, topics etc from the old website. Please do something. Thanks.
My guess is that Dr. Mercola has the rights to those videos on his website, and Dr. Becker could not take them with her.
@@MD-ky4ho Was there a falling out or they just went their separate ways? I appreciate them both.
I was bummed to lose the old website as well. I wanted to order a flea product for my cat but got lost on barks and whiskers, couldn't find the ingredient list, went to local pet store instead. I will try again next time, as I want to support Dr. Becker.
I could imagine how you girls feel about seeing a tub of coconut oil now costing 25 bucks😳 #robbery
It is a odd argument to say that because something isn’t native that it is not beneficial. We give ourselves and our pets antibiotics, processed foods, etc.
What’s their web address
how much coconut oil we give to our dog ? mine is beagle . please i need info
Just a half teaspoon per meal is enough.
I do not agree we or our pets should be consuming oils. Our livers and cells are not designed to deal with pure fuels. Hence why eating whole foods is so important they are slower digesting and what the body was designed for. Hence why you should eat the olives or coconut, etc versus consuming the oil. Use oils sparsely in foods but not naked that includes bullet proof coffee and added pure fat. Liquid fuel is the worst.
What are your credentials?
@@MD-ky4ho 57 years of living and owning many dogs and recently doing a tremendous amount of research on bio chemistry, metabolism, and common sense. All animals except humans, our pets and our domestic livestock are the only animals on the planet eating anything processed and we are the only animals suffering from metabolic dysfunction, disease and obesity as a symptom among others like diabetes, cancers, dementia, oral health issues from a foundation of processed grain starch/sugar and seed oils being the primary source of calories. Liquid fuel is easily absorbed and obviously a flood of pure fuel in a system designed for whole fuel if done habitualy is problematic at least. No one argues that eating processed food is the main source to dysfunction and disease well liquid is even more easily absorbed than processed food and is what makes up processed food. Its not magic or mysterious its obvious you dont need to be a scientist or a vet or doctor who have almost zero nutritional education in school.
Lastly my present dog a fox terrier of 3.5 years is the first dog i have never fed a commercial grain foundation doggie fast food. His diet is an animal based diet with zero grain and his teeth are immaculate with zero plaque or bad breath and has never required a tooth brush. No skin issues or allergies and in perfect health.
Myself, i have been on a low carb paleo diet now for 1.75 years lost 40 lbs, reversed pre diabetes and high blood pressure. So i have experience as well as research of why you shouldnt be consuming pure fuel fat or sugar.
If the way we eat requires a tooth brush we obviously are eating an unhealthy diet.
@@GregariousAntithesis Have you ever heard of a researcher named Ray Peat? He has passed away, but he had a great mind.
@@MK-ih6wp i am familair with Ray Peet what does he have to do with humans and our pets consuming oils?
@@GregariousAntithesis, as a holistic nutritionist I completely agree with your line of reasoning.
Does anyone know a search that is for homeopathic type veterinarians I can seek for my 12 year old dog survivor out of 4. The rabies vaccinations and most other shots have the bio weapon in them and cause cancer lumps. Adding coconut to her cbd and other treatments. We only eat organic local grass fed meats.
I guess that it really depends on where you live. Just try searching '*your city name* holistic veterinarians'
I have my 14 year old boy on MCT (coconut) oil and cbd oil and he’s doing great for his age. I don’t do any vax, it is not necessary and it is poison and a money making racket. As the other dude says do a google search. I’m in Ireland 🇮🇪 and there is a holistic / homeopathic vet half an hour away. BTW, I’m in the countryside.
Also do a search on "Integrative" veterinarians.
Vetinary Secrets-on Utube. Dr. Jones has great help for pet owners, more natural remedies👍🏻👍🏻. He does happen to be in Canada.
Where do you live? Epsom salt detox baths with baking soda for your pup.
