I think the no power tools rule is a little dishonest here, as I think Joerg's muscles are classed as power tools under German law

I hope that you are just being sarcastic and not a troll and rude but if you honestly do not know I will do my best to enlighten you. Adam is one of the greatest god damn knife throwers out there. So he knows all about projectiles and their trajectories. Again if this comment was just made as a joke then I apologize for my over the top explanation of something that you already know. If it is not a joke comment then I would please ask that you be a little bit more civil to those just trying to share their enjoyment of Jorge's work.

A true carpenter never messes with precision tools, they completely rely on themselves. :)
And with precision tools I simply mean machines that make it easier for you to be precise and on point. Not something like a ruler, where you still have to measure things. I'm a layman, but I'm sure you understand what I mean.

Make the same exact crossbow (same dimensions and mechanisms as well as similar size bolts) but do it with premium materials and power tools. Then do a side by side comparison of their abilities. The battle of beauty vs the beast!
P.S. maybe even do basic polish the new one to really drive home how nice it looks in comparison

make something to go fishing :) so it has to have a rope, so u can get the fish back, has to go fast and straight in the water, has to have a lot of force because i think the water will stop it a little? it has to be really strong, in case u want to catch a really big fish, if it doesn't die immediately that it does not pull of your string when it trys to escape.

I know in old days they used nails to drill holes by twisting them into the wood. I have an old antique hand operated drill. Not sure of the age but it's made with all metal an still works great today. Can't beat the quality of the old hand tools they made an I think it's because they used better carbon in the metal. I also have two bigger hand operated drills, similar to type they used to build cabins with to make holes an put wooden dowels in to lock the beams together. Great cross bow idea Joerg. Love the video.

i've always though bow and crossbow championships should be done by sending the contestants in a forest without anything but basic tools and let them build their bows, crossbows, arrows and bolts themselves and afterwards let them shoot with them and give them points only for that.
bows and crossbows are ancient weapons that's why in competitions it should also be a part of competing. guns are modern weapons, those should be as modern and good as possible. but shooting composite crossbows and those ridiculously technical bows for competition has very little to do with actual archery.
in ancient times an archer used a piece of wood and some string to shoot pointy sticks at the enemy. what we call archery today doesnt resemble it at very much
to be fair olympic fencing is also rubbish
