I like this Polo a lot Alex. Like the wheels, seats and blanking plugs. You did a good job with the paint. It will preserve George having something a cheap runabout modern classic. Top video.
Nothing wrong with a rattle can spray job. I had an 87 Corolla which I bought cheap with very badly faded paint. I went to Bunnings ( big hardware chain in Oz.) and bought rust protective under coat grey auto paint and a heap of Heritage Blue metal paint from the clearance bin at Aust.$1 a can. It ended up costing me a couple of days prep work and about Aust.$80 to completely repaint it. I was happy with the job and ,as we like to say in OZ ,to me " it looks just like a bought one".
Great to see you flirting with a Irish beauty! Lovely car - though I'm so used to seeing number plates and knowing the vehicle age that Irish plates confuse me! Your touch up is way more skilled than my daughter managed when trying to make her car look less tired - I wouldn't be at all concerned about how it turned out. I was in the new forest this weekend, with trips over the border into Bournemouth on Thursday and Bournemouth and Poole on Sunday - tourists cluttering the roads up for the locals! Lovely part of the country (can I claim I'm not a tourist in the new forest if I live in the opposite corner of the county?) ;-P
Awesome little car. My father had a C Formel E on a 'C' plate. The stop/start annoyed him, but I really liked it. I have to raise an issue with regard to swearing. I don't expect that sort of behaviour on this channel. 😁
The vw brigade will be hopping at this video. Gambling on the timing belt 🫣 with a decent trip coming up.... wouldn't do it myself. Can't be too difficult with the engine so open to tinkering.
Nice to stumble across this video! Ive just bought a 1.3 VW Mk2f as a project, and im just up the road from where this was filmed! Did you do any thing else to the car other then what was in this video?
'to a blind man looking in the opposite direction' - nearly spat my tea out🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great wee car! You did well there, looks much tidier. A quick touch up is better than no touch up.

Thanks! 👍
A little elbow grease and your 10' Polo is a now a solid 30-footer.
Good job.😊

Great video & Ideal stop gap. You have tidied up the bodywork / Polo beautifully. Great little cars, I have a 1987 mk2 Breadvan
Looks quite cool on the Mk3 Golf steelies
Nice job tidings it up. Cracking little cars. 😎
The all important 'All Things Alex' sticker... You've doubled your money right there!! ;)
citroen and vw did some awesome trim patterns in the 90s, if only modern cars were like it today!
It certainly looks better now after all your work.
Love the interior!
Nice little car!
