Forget the goggles, where’s your dust mask? Sanding it that way creates toxic glass dust which you’re breathing in. Use wet/dry sandpaper sheets in graduated grades (80, 120, etc). Lay the sheets on your workbench, wet them, and work the bottle neck in circular motion on the sandpaper. It may take a little longer, but you’ll get a smooth satin finish, a zen moment, and you won’t be breathing in glass dust.
Awesome, thanks. So if I wanted it on my pinky, I might need a smaller bottle. I have a metal knuckle slide for my ring finger and a full length metal Dunlop slide that fits pinky loosely or ring finger very snug. Still haven't made up my mind but for the music I play, leaning towards pinky and standard tuning.

You don’t need to use heat then cold. Score well then knock the neck on a block of wood! Been doing this for 35 years,

Miniature torch will smooth out the entire surface of the cut for zero glass dust.
Cant I just tie a knot om the bottle neck and burn the knot then put it in the ice water ?
