I knew what I was getting into, the issues are well documented all over the internet. Mine has 120k owned it for the last 11 years. No issues except for an alternator. The truck has been amazing in terms of comfort and capability and utility. My daughter took it on a trip recently and was stunned how competent the vehicle is for 08. Plenty of room to work on, the support online is amazing. I have thought of parting ways for a newer one, I just love that design.
My 07 LR3 has 148000 miles on it and i drove it 120 miles this morning through the mountains. Replaced the suspension twice... finally went to coils this last time... but i bought it for 12k in 2012 w 60k miles. I think its been a great value.
Sorry to hear it man. We’ve got a 2016 RR Sport HST. 80,000 on it as we speak, problem free. I think like anything mechanical, shit happens. You know, those Monday and Friday motor schools of thinking. I will say it has lost about 10k in book value over the last year. That seemed a little steep, but if I’m not in the market to sell it to buy a Rolex or AP then it doesn’t really matter to me.
An old boss of mine used to have one, awesome rig…but always breaking down. If I was to go the overland route, or 4 wheel drive, I’d get a Toyota. They’re pretty amazing in the reliability department. My brother, and nephew can attest to that. All that said, your Rover is a sweet ride, just wish it was more reliable for ya.

I’m at 200k miles on my LR3, it’s never been towed
Capability, reliability, value retention, Land Cruiser

Bummer but, your old Jeep was 10x better.
A lifted zj would have been a better option parts are very cheap. And easy to replace. If you total it just get another for 2000$.
So all the warnings came out to be true?
Just wait till that Beemer starts acting up.
You were warned. 😂
Ok, subscribed to help you hit that 10k goal!!

You’re right. Invest in something dull. One life, bore yourself til the end
