Great video, as always. We have been getting well specced value-for-money phones for quite while now. Don't know why many non-Indian markets don't get these phones. Industry will provide what market demands and I guess most of these markets are ruled over by carrier monopolies or they just don't demand for more ("value for money"). Every time a US UA-camr exclaims how great the battery life is with 4000 mAh battery with 6+ hrs SOT (on a flagship phone), I cringe watching it on a budget phone with 5000 mAh battery which has been around for quite while.
Yeah, since current flagships are getting bigger batteries (because bigger screens need more power) and tech youtubers are pointing out those "massive" 4000mAh batteries, while I've been using my Xiaomi phone for over 2 years now with a 4100mAh battery :D.
I was just discussing this with my wife, after watching this vid together. Here in the US, it seems that we only get offered two segments of the smartphone market: the highest brands (Apple and Samsung); and the lowest (HTC, ZTE), tied to the carriers (Verizon, TMobile, etc.). The carriers wield a huge amount of influence here; and consumers have little recourse to demand much from them. The retail sector is nearly totally captive to the carriers, largely through their branded outlets, and you get what they offer there, and nothing else. Comparison shopping below Apple and Samsung is nearly entirely useless; even to replace a phone with the same carrier, you may not have the option to buy the same handset if the carrier has changed the brand at your pricepoint (I had an HTC, it burned in an industrial accident; i had to replace it with a ZTE, for instance). Whether you get more "value", or less, is entirely up to the carrier, if your pricepoint is inflexible (as most Americans' are).
Come on that mAh thing is all delusional. The real thing lies in the software, how well it is optimised. As I have a Lenovo p2 with 5100 mah. It lasts long but I know, newer phones with lesser mah batteries will last the same if not more.
@@SATDS I know pure numbers are not everything. I was stressing on the point that they've been getting the over priced products when compared to what we get here for the same (if not less) amount of money. Battery example was to say that most of them are ignorant about this fact and just go on to say that 4000mAH is "industry leading"
@@dsnodgrass4843 You guys need to put an end to carrier monopoly. I don't know how would you go about that but never underestimate the power of people when they unite for a same cause. Also, I think all the carriers have deep pockets within FTC for lobbying, am I right?
They were never here for the long game. They came just to make some quick money in the absence of any good budget brands in India before the Chinese brands made their way into the Indian market. They made tons of money so I think they were a success in that sense. Beside that Asin was the cherry on the cake 😉.

A fact: China is the country with most active smartphone companies, having 30 homegrown brands of mobiles, shockingly at second place comes India, with 16 active homegrown brands from 14 companies, at third there is USA with 13 homegrown brands and one subsidiary brand of Lenovo, followed by Japan with 13 companies But considering the amount of buisness, Indian brands won't even come in top 20 of world... So what that means?? It means we always had an option for our Indian products, but we chose outside products for some particular, benefitial reason, from the very beginning... And as the time passed by we kept buying newer and newer products from outside and our Indian brands became disappear slowly... Never reached the height of a globally known product despite of having all the potentials So we, the people of India, only we can put our homegrown brands at top again, just we have to promise that we'll never buy any Chinese products again... I know we won't get that price, quality, attractive features in our Indian brands primarily which we are accustomed with... But our electronic industry is already highly developed, they will just need a little time to regain their buisness after we start buy their products... And with time and with this huge amount of possible sell, they will be researching on new technologies and features at lowest possible price, which will be best suited for us... Not only that, they will also become a global superpower... On the other hand, Chinese electronic brands will have a huge impact on them and will lead to the huge economic loss of China I still know that there are always some bootlickers and some stone minded citizens who won't leave Chinese products in any cost and don't care about his country at all... And have no interest in what's going on over country's economy or in border... They only look for their pockets and status... I have nothing to say for them, can just hope that god bless them so they can be able to rethink, what is fantasy and what will be actually better in long term... And others, to the all Indians reading it, to the all Indians keeping a dream of seeing their country as a superpower, can surely serve this much for India's well being... we know we can 🙏🏿 So please Indians, as we have already thought it, there's no going back... Great video, as always.
We have been getting well specced value-for-money phones for quite while now.
Don't know why many non-Indian markets don't get these phones. Industry will provide what market demands and I guess most of these markets are ruled over by carrier monopolies or they just don't demand for more ("value for money").
Every time a US UA-camr exclaims how great the battery life is with 4000 mAh battery with 6+ hrs SOT (on a flagship phone),
I cringe watching it on a budget phone with 5000 mAh battery which has been around for quite while.

India is a great market indeed
GREAT VIDEO BRO
A fact: China is the country with most active smartphone companies, having 30 homegrown brands of mobiles, shockingly at second place comes India, with 16 active homegrown brands from 14 companies, at third there is USA with 13 homegrown brands and one subsidiary brand of Lenovo, followed by Japan with 13 companies
But considering the amount of buisness, Indian brands won't even come in top 20 of world...
So what that means?? It means we always had an option for our Indian products, but we chose outside products for some particular, benefitial reason, from the very beginning... And as the time passed by we kept buying newer and newer products from outside and our Indian brands became disappear slowly... Never reached the height of a globally known product despite of having all the potentials
So we, the people of India, only we can put our homegrown brands at top again, just we have to promise that we'll never buy any Chinese products again... On the other hand, Chinese electronic brands will have a huge impact on them and will lead to the huge economic loss of China
I still know that there are always some bootlickers and some stone minded citizens who won't leave Chinese products in any cost and don't care about his country at all... And have no interest in what's going on over country's economy or in border... They only look for their pockets and status... I have nothing to say for them, can just hope that god bless them so they can be able to rethink, what is fantasy and what will be actually better in long term...
And others, to the all Indians reading it, to the all Indians keeping a dream of seeing their country as a superpower, can surely serve this much for India's well being... we know we can 🙏🏿
So please Indians, as we have already thought it, there's no going back... Now or never, we have to make it happen ✊🏿✊🏿 Let's do it ☑️

The graph at 9:33 reminded me a book that I read long time ago, called "The Innovator's dilemma", by Clayton Christensen. Companies care a lot about their profit margins, and usually higher complexity comes with higher profit margins. If there is a new competitor on the lower end of complexity, they will most likely give that market up and focus on their higher-complexity products. I guess the same holds for countries.
