Goodness, your piloting skills, and your wife, her camera skills! Not once out of frame!
I agree Kevin! She's great on the camera. I watch a few channels with plane/flight reviews and Megan has to be the best in my opinion.
Thanks Kevin!!! And 100% Agree - Megan is great at keeping the plane in frame. I don't know how she does it!!!
So much coolness and adrenaline in this video! That close passes were crazy! My respects to camera crew!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!!! 100% Megan is the best!!!
Sounds like the grass is useful for an arrester bed! This is why I love large open fields! Seriously, Brian, mate.. your enthusiasm didn't just shine through there.. it burnt out our rentinas! Clearly, you're loving this plane!! Let's have more videos of you and the BAE hawk!! Really good to see you this excited.
I really loved this one, and the Futura 80mm too - I hate to say "Favorite", since I have so many, but they're on the short list!!!
Great flight! Man, your wife is doing just amazing job! The best cameraman in RC world😂😂😂
Thanks, and yeah! She's GREAT!!!! I don't know how she does it, but almost never misses a pass!!!
Hi Brian and camera crew,
Just wanted to say I'm new to the edf jet side of r/c and find your videos to be very educational, the radio setup is a massive help, very in depth and well explained.
Thanks Brian and crew, keep up the GREAT work 👍
Welcome aboard, and glad you're getting some good out of the videos!!! We love to help, and I love to fly too :)
Just one little thing. B.A.E. is an abbreviation so should be read letter by letter and not as "bay". We British folks are extraordinarily proud of our "Red Arrows" R.A.F. aerobatic display team. This is their aeroplane. I've had the privilege to get up real close and personal to one when it was part of our "Armed Forces Day" in my city back in 2012.
Who could not love this plane
1000% agree!
Amazing video and flight Brian! I loved that flight! Makes me want to get this for a Christmas present to myself! 👀 What an AWESOME jet!
You need one!!! P.S. Power lines down, bet you'd like flying even better here now ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Haha someday!! Oh haha sweet! I loved flying there but yeah one day I’ll have to fly off the famous driveway runway! 🛫
Mine's been in it's box for a year now, didn't have a car for a while, now I have, so next season I'll be blasting this around, along with a Freewing F-4 and Beech D18 which just arrived... Can't wait!!
Great flying video, she really moves, 3 minutes of high adrenaline fun!
Thanks, and 100% - Good luck!!! She is a blast! Fast and great flying like the Futura, but even better looking!!!
That thing rips 🔥
Nice flying Brian 👍🏻✌🏻
Sure does, and thanks!
I love this jet. It was good right out of the box. I ripped the reflex out and put in an ar630. It was a couple left aileron and 4 up elevator clicks and a dream to fly ever since. Bae Hawk and the Futura v3 are the best I’ve flown in 2022.

Sounded like you were under a bit of triple A fire. Keep jankin'! Keep jankin'!
LOL - that was a little explicit - LOL
Damn....That Hawk is a BEAST!!!
Sure is!!!
You guys are my favorite channel to watch. Keep it up. Love your great relationship you guys have. Fms baehawk is awesome. Great flight. One thing. Deep six that shirt. Must be your favorite. It’s in a lot of videos😂. Get an airplane shirt. ✈️. Jk. Love you guys.
LOL - I just find something that works, and use it till it dies (speaking of the shirt - LOL), and keep telling Megan we need to get me ONE more - LOL - not 2 or 3...just 1 - LOL
One of my favorites!
This one is so good!!!
GREAT sound!
100% Love it!!!
Out of pure Curiosity do you still have your eachine f22 and f16
yes
i love the grass takeoff, much better grass than my club field, looks like im buying a BAE😁
NICE!!! This BAE Hawk is just amazing!
Loving the way this looks and flies.
100% agree
As far as anything scale goes… these are incredible planes!!! But even if you take the scale part out of it, the Hawk is by far one of the best flying planes out there! And then when you see that its a scale bird it is just that much better! I got the first gen and flew it til it was worn out! So I got another one and was then surprised to see that it came with the newer and faster 2100kv unit installed!! But the coolest thing is that with a 4000 pack you can get 12-15 min flight times shooting touch n goes… it can still climb just fine at barely half throttle!! This is just an amazing plane!!! I will always have one in my hangar!!
You're getting 12-15 minutes!?!? I guess, if you're only taking off and landing, and keeping things nice and relaxed, you could go for quite a while longer.
That is an exceptional fight time for any EDF jet, and scale details are the cherry on the top!!! I love the Futura 80mm too, but I feel like this one adds the scale detail where that one is slightly less beautiful (not that it's bad looking at all).
You're dangerous! It's not a "Bay Hawk"; it's a B-A-E Hawk. I really like mine..
Sick plane. I need one
yes, you do!
BAE Hawk bit.ly/3q8fjJB
what up player? Keep on RC Flying in the Free World !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Buck - will do!!!
I wish I had half your piloting skills. That jet just sets the sky on fire. Definitely fun to watch. But my old eyes and reflexes, I need to stay in the realm of the Habu STS 70mm on 3S. But this was an amazing video. Thank you.
Thanks Jeff!!! This plane is amazing, and it's a JOY to fly. It's one of the easier FAST jets to fly, since you CAN slow it down, however the Futura is probably a bit easier to slow down with.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I need a gas balloon with a jet painted on it. 😂
Enjoyed the video.. Your camera crew is quite brave and trusts you a great deal.... (or you just upgraded her life insurance..) 🙂. Great stuff... Thanks for sharing...
Wow what a fast plane. Great flying Brian!
Thanks! She blazes, and looks dang good doing it too!!!
If it weren’t for the Futura v3, the Bae Hawk…. and the FMS 1500mm a-10… I almost forgot, the Rafale. Okay, the Bae Hawk is my 4th favorite FMS edf. All it does is fly perfect, it’s sneaky fast and a piece-O-cake to land.
INCREDIBLE
She really is!
That plane sounds amazing! I was grinning like a jackass eating briars watching that thing wiz by! 😂
NICE!!!!!!
Mount a camera on the plane, so we can see some air footage! 😁
In order to share aerial footage, I'd have to have a Part 107 from the FAA :( So maybe some day in the future, but getting the Part 107 adds a few layers of complexity to my life, so not sure I'm willing to do it just quite yet.
Brian I think a video showing and explaining how to and what is a Stall Turn, Unlimited Vertical, Cornhole, etc... for new pilots like myself (and many others I am sure) would be greatly appreciated. I understand some terms but not all, and it's very confusing to newbies
Super sweet! Video! But where’s the IX14? 😊, gotta say I picked up an IX12 from Horizons used Tx’s, and after a lot of work to remove the old stuff and factory reset it (which Horizon should have done!) I really like it!
I have a complaint. I'm a beginner and love your long videos. This one is to short. Please keep them long when you can. I know time at times but love your videos. Please give use some videos of beginner flight instructions. Im learning on my own just bought a aeroscout and destroyed it on the second time out. Afterwards I thought thru it. I was to low and got disoriented and janked controls. Basically panicked. My fault totally. Keep talking throttle cut on is like scribed in my head. The second time I put throttle cut on and didn't realize I did and wonder why the prop would not engage on second flight of second outing. Thank you so very much and keep up all you do as long as you can. Tell your wife I know exactly how she feels as a beginner.. myself.
99 times out of 100 it's pilot error.
99 times out of 100, pilots avoid admitting it was their fault.
You're in the 1% my friend.
My advice is to get a simulator. Your planes will last longer.
100% agree. I would strongly suggest a flight sim…and I’ll also add….even for us seasoned pilots…crashes happen! It’s just part of the hobby! I’m a Helicopter pilot primarily with only a few planes but the good thing about fomies is they are easy and cheap to rebuild! Helicopters on the other hand are $$$$ 😅
Just keep at it! Nothing better than becoming a proficient rc pilot, just be patient and practice with that sim!
We try to share some of this when we're doing "Beginner" or "Trainer" style planes, so we hope you'll be checking in for when we're covering this style of plane. There's so much to flying RC, but at the heart of it all, muscle memory is necessary. If you're struggling, some others have suggested, and it's great advice...get yourself a good simulator, but most importantly a simulator that will let you practice with a REAL sized transmitter, something like this...

Love your channel man, new sub here. That jet is amazing !!! Always wanted to learn to fly. Thinking about using your link for that rtf cub?. Can't remember the exact name. It's blue and white from horizon.

wow, the speed is very extraordinary, friend, very crazy, extraordinary anyway
Amazing save! Great job guys! #stay epic
Brian, Can you install a camera on the BAE Hawk so we can see what the approaches, and takeoffs look like at your place. What kind of speeds are you achieving with the Hawk ? I'am an old Twinbeech 18 pilot, Full Size Type. Enjoyed the D-18 review. Tom
Thanks Tom! I can't share aerial footage without getting a Part 107, which is totally stupid, I agree, but that's why we don't share areal footage. If I get the Part 107 it could also significantly complicate our lives, but might be necessary in the future...
Great flying dude ✈️
Thanks!
Was so disappointed in the 3 minutes or less of flight time... i ordered a new motor replacement from Futura v3 to replace the old one in the BAE-Hawk.
Love the performance and speed.. but the short flights kill me on this one
It is somewhat customary for EDF jets, but as I've said, a lot can happen in 3 minutes :) LOL ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC viper 90mm 4½ same 5000mAh battery
awesome jet and cool flight
Totally! Can't wait for spring...it's gonna be epic!
You need to put wires across the driveway so you can snag the airplane like an aircraft carrier.......
I've seen guys do this with a couple bottles of water and a string. Works well too! I do need to try it here with our sometimes "carrier" style landings ;)
Man that thing skoots brian! Question which model do u think is faster this 80mm bae hawk or the new futura v3?
They are super similar. I love the looks of the BAE Hawk, and I think it flies ALMOST as good as the Futura...
Tough call! Both are really REALLY good!

Did your think about having a “Fun Fly” out at your Beautiful field?
That would be amazing, but this type of activity would need to happen after I fire my day job ;( - we have quite a long ways to get there, but we'll seriously consider this. I also want to make a runway in the back, for full scale planes and PPG, so you might be seeing that, OR a pond in the next year or so...if we don't build a building or another garage... too many large capitol projects right now, and I want it done YESTERDAY ;) Hope you'll stick with us in the mean time!
@@BrianPhillipsRC
Awesome. I hope to see any one of those projects complete esp the full scale runway.
Being a full scale helicopter pilot maybe I’ll have to shuttle out one day !
Brian Brian Brian
It’s not BAY Hawke
It’s BAE (British Aerospace Engineering) Hawke
Please call it what it is
Ta from GB
Dave Hall
Sorry about that
You are forgiven Brian , now don’t be naughty again or it’s smack bottom time!
David Hall its Hawk not Hawke. Please call it what it is 😁
Love it ❤
Bryan Philips! have you seen the new rage rc Eachine am62 Zero? I would appreciate you doing a review on the plane😀 thanks!
We'll do it as soon as we can get out hands on one ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks! Have fun flying as always
✈️
Added a second pilot from the Pilatus PC-21 that didn't land well lol
Your getting crazier in your old age
Nahhhh... just always calculated risk. Plus this was a second thoughts. You guys usually see me flying somewhat "tame" since I'm doing maiden flights, but once I get a better FEEL for a plane, I can do more and better with them. We feel it nothing more than a dis-service to our RC community to share much more than the Maiden Flights and very early flight for our "Reviews" but these "Second Thoughts" videos are more fun for me to fly, and easier for us to produce, but don't want to mislead when people are looking to us for input on the experience of a given aircraft.
Hope this makes sense, but I'm still pretty much a calculated-worrie-wart - LOL
Hello! I have a Carbon Cub S2 that I can fly(not to well, still new) and I think it’s because it takes FOREVER to turn, I don’t have tons of room and was just wondering, does the Habu STS turn a little better and fly better? I love the Carbon Cub, great beginner plane, just I don’t think I have room until intermediate just because of turn rate
If you are flying in SAFE (auto-leveing AKA Beginner Mode) you could try to progress out of it, and you'll find that it's capable of flying in much tighter spaces.
As for the Habu - it will be even worse if fling in SAFE since it flies faster, thus covering more ground.
You might just want to have a smaller plane, which might help with a smaller flying field. Have you considered going smaller?

I have DX8 G2 and would like battery voltages does it come from my ar637ta or do i need to upgrade to a Avion ESC? Great video Brian!!
There's NOMINAL flight pack data that comes with the AR637TA (or AR637T) but you will get MORE telemetry data with the SMART ESC as well.
This great flyer would be a great addition nest to my Avanti 80mm. Also, just curious, do you prefer this 80mm Red Hawk over its big brother, the Freewing T-45 Goshawk 90mm?
I would love to do the T-45 Goshawk 90mm, but we don't have access to Freewing :(.... Sorry to report, so I can't honestly make that assessment, other than to say, I LOVE THE BAE Hawk 80mm!
@@BrianPhillipsRC ...Better than your FMS - Futura V3 - 80mm?
Bad ass guy's
Sure is, Thanks!
Hello Dear Brian Boaz from Israel I have this plane also EDF 80mm i
This plane is amazing!
Polls r back up lol
Yessssir
I thought you had the power line removed? That is a very fast aircraft.
This is clearly filmed during the summer.
This must be an older video!
LOL - Yep - caught me red-handed ;) We filmed this earlier and sometimes when we release a maiden flight, then shortly after (maybe a couple weeks later) film a second thoughts (like this video) we realize the planes go OUT OF STOCK and so we hold off on sharing videos that will just really irritate the heck out of everyone, since they can't get the planes we're sharing.
Hope this makes sense. Thanks for being her ;) The line are most definitely still gone...and it's glorious!
Hi brain ,I am a spectrum guy and am going to swap out the esc to a 100 amp avian ,and remove the reflex with a ar637 ,how the heck does I guy get to and remove the stock esc on this plane ??? And it looks like the motor could be hard wired to the esc as I don’t see any bullet connectors ,thnks for any input guys ,
And your grass comment…..😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
;)
This one or the Viper 90?
Any updates on your PPG?
YAK 130 VS x fly ALFA???? Anyone got thoughts?
Personally, I like the FMS offerings better in this case, than the Xfly offerings...but they're all good.

It's B - A - E ... not Bay. Just sayin! :)
yes, so I've been told. Sorry about that
BRITISH AEROSPACE ENGINEERING = B.A.E. Brian Not Bay Hawk …. Please get it right Brian !
I supposed it probably annoys you to death that I say "omp" hobby in stead of O - M - P hobby ;) If everyone wants to use acronyms, then they run the risk Brian Phillips is gonna READ the word they make...LOL...occupational hazard.
Not trying to be a dick, but honestly, if you hear me say it again, don't feel bad. I'm pretty much an "old dog" and can barely learn any new tricks...very sorry to disappoint. Hope you can forgive me, and see past it.
I do sometimes say things like this because I'm being a goof, but in this case, I didn't know any better, so do appreciate your clarification, but I'll probably keep saying it wrong, since it's what I've been doing for decades (wrong).
Thanks for being her with us Dave
