Looks like an easy fix, and the way it crashed may have helped reduce damage, actually. Use bamboo skewers to connect the two pieces, then Foam To Foam, epoxy, or Gorilla Glue. It will probably be stronger than it was before! Also, hit it with some matte or semi-gloss Minwax polycrylic. A single coat is all that's necessary. The weight it adds is next to nothing. It will help to keep your paint from chipping or flaking off.

Hi Andy! it was a nerve racking flight! I got almost shaky at the end of your first flight! Just for those rookies reading this; I would recommend gentle flying at 60-75% of throttle to trim the plane and do normal circles. It looked as she flew just perfect. Also I wouldn´t recommend maiden with gyro, just for safety and better without wind. The first approaches turning without throttle made me nervous. Always keep around 30-50% on the last approach and when the plane is stable you can even cut throttle if you point the nose down enough it has speed, but that requires a bit of experience with the model. I have heard the BAE Hawk is an economic airframe and seem to be forgiving also. More Expo on the Elevator would have helped also. BUT THE ONLY ERROR, was that second take off with the same battery. Of course. it had some juice! But don´t being totally comfortable with the model, the approach, etc. you may want all the time of the world to do the best approach. Every landing was AWESOME! and she took off like a STOL plane! Did you put edfs pointing down also? That was impressive ! hahaha I have a 70mm Freewing Hawk second hand waiting for maiden but I have seen she need a lot of runway to take off of gras. This one does the job like a high wing trainer! hahaha I´m considering to get one too xD NICE video! And if you or somebody want, I have a humble channel for my maidens and some shenanigans with my Mirage 80mm now or LiIon flights over 12 minutes on F-16teens and similars... Cheers!!

put magnets on the inboard gear door to keep them shut during flight. they'll open without interference when the mains are dropped. also, this bird really really favors an aft CG. you can go so far as to cut some foam in the battery tray to push it back a little bit more. just remember to lower the HI rates some. I'm actually at 70% of the factory recommended rates hi/low and have a 4500mah battery pushed back 1" from where the factory battery tray ends. awesome video! you'll love this thing more and more when you see what it can really do. Gooniac gets 6-9 minute flights (video proof) on 4000mah batteries

You’re the 2nd gentleman I’ve watched make this their first edf. That’s impressive. I got the ArrowsRC Viper as my 1st edf after being in the sport for 5 years. Even with the 50mm Viper I wasn’t ready for how touchy the control surfaces were.
Glue that sucker up, or order a new fuse, wear it out and have fun.

cool and I´m with you. I was flying one year before my first jet flight (Futura 64mm). It worked good on a windy day but trimming was difficult as the wind also. Landings were mmmm just the front strut bent but could have been worse. On later flights I stalled that one and also a 70mm Avanti. I think it´s impossible to learn without crashing jets. Normal prop planes maybe with good teacher. But learning mainly alone always involves a lot of crashed planes. Every single of them was repaired and flown again. That were $150-$400 planes so it was worth it. Also flying with a repaired one is much relaxed and you do more shenanigans and crash again and again xD hahaha

The wing fences really adds to the wing shape! Guy at the club flys one and its superb! A good match for touch ups is Daler Rowney, Cadmium Red (hue) no. 503 its Acrylic so won't melt the foam and drys real quick.

That's funny! I'm also flying mostly EDF jets lately. Since they no longer sound like hairdryers or vacuum cleaners they have become really popular.
It was also the first time after a while, that a passer-by walked up to me and asked, what (tf) it is that I'm flying 🙂
I also want to put head-tracking FPV on it but I'm hesitant too. I would need a fast true air-speed indicator to feel safe.
A lot of expo reduced the effect of shaky fingers for me 🙃 but still, my MiG29 makes me sweat a lot 😜

Good looking jet, seems to be pretty quick in the air. That's a real shame about the paint. I'm sure there's a better way to do that. Great landing! Heard you talking about the smaller one being less stressful - The smaller planes are a lot more twitchy in the air. I much prefer to fly a larger plane.

    That's a beautiful bird.
I've always been looking at the Rc jets but never had the balls to get one.
After seeing this, I'm actually considering to buy one just like that. I'm impressed with the flight characteristics and the beautiful finish. It's so majestic in the air and the sound is way better than the older types of EDF which was underpowered and loud for no reason.
    I really want one now😬.
    Thumbs up Bud 👍👍

Nice Bird Andy. I too get nervous and shaky. Although, I've been flying on and off for 40 years. Also, that foam those birds are made of is EPO. In the world of plastics, that's a polyolefin material. Great materials for holding gasoline and other products. Terrible adhesion by paints. Needs a primer coat which I'm guessing they don't use.

    Awesome!! ♥️
The hand shake likely just adrenaline. Once in the system, it takes a while to calm down unless physically active.
Regarding the wing wires, you may try covering with red electrical tap. (not like you'll notice at the speeds this bird flys anyway)
Looking forward to seeing more wings in the channel mix. First discovered your channel last year with video of you chasing a wing.

@@AndyRCchannelI would no problem but they are different and in rough condition! And have been glued back together twice,I’m now turning them into a flying wing hopefully my most successful delta as most didn’t end well! yesterday I added nose weight(a heap of roofing screws) lol I was in the shed! and tested them as a free flight glider! and it looks promising! Despite having no lateral stability! I’ve not decided what to power it with yet though, I’ve got a dualsky x motor it’s roughly a 3012 I can’t remember for certain or it’s kv but it rip’s with an apc 9x6 and 4s! or I’m going to gut a 250mm fpv quad for 2 or 4 of its motors and compact esc’s or a nitro? Either tiny or maybe a .46 pusher? Or maybe edf but small multiple 50-65mm fan’s or make it ultra light buy hollowing the wing’s and use a 28mm eflite edf for a slow flyer? I’m stuck with a pile of electrical components and too many ideas! Btw after looking closer too it’s a different make and mine are about 4” smaller span I think it was a horizon hobby at least 12 years old and cheaper design too originally having only ailerons.also I had to add very nearly caught fire once, as the foam just above the plastic clip on the leading edge is melted from an esc and battery failure
