- Hi! My name is Tamar, welcome to my channel, 3x3 Custom! I am a mother of 3, DIY'er and Woodworker who loves to share my building process.
I am NOT a professional, everything I have learned has been from UA-cam, Google and Instagram. Oh yeah and a little trial and error too ;)
Building is so much fun and it really is so easy. If I can do it, so can you!
Follow along and hopefully you can learn something new!

My kids are grown, but hearing those voices at the end was so sweet. I've enjoyed your channel and I've learned a great deal. I too am building out my tool inventory, making tables, 'stuff' for my kids, grandkids. It's a lot of fun. Keep up the great inspiring work, we all really appreciate it.
I owe you a huge "thank you". I'm a novice woodworker and I've learned so much from your channel. I find you to be a model of patience when you are trying to be precise. I struggle at times with wanting to take short cuts and then end up regretting it. Now, when I feel the temptation to rush my mantra is "What would Tamar do?". I try to channel your penchant to take your time to get the setup right, use test cuts, etc. You've had a huge effect on the quality of my projects. So... Thank you!
That’s so awesome to hear! Thanks!
Video #1.
Look how far you've come Tamar.😊
The same smiling face, cheerful kids (probably 😜🤣😂), a temperature controlled shop full of fabulous tools, and still a bright shining light here on the Tube.😉
I thought I'd seen all of your videos and this randomly popped up this morning.
What a great reminder.👌
Life tries to swallow us up, but when we close the door, tune out the noise, and be still for a while, perspective returns with a fresh way of thinking.
Tamar,
You are a light on a hill. When the sun is out it might appear that you cannot be seen, but you can, just have to look a little closer. Like a candle, you can see the flame even in the brightest sunlight and as the sun gives way to evening the brilliance grows and the flame can be seen from far away.
Finding the time to do everything you want to do is hard, kids, family, life, and then UA-cam when you can.
You got it exactly right.
People look forward to seeing your posts whenever you can because you inspire and motivate everyone to give it a try.
Thanks for the sunshine.😉🤙
Omg. The bloopers at the end....amazing. 🤣😂
Alma Villalobos real life people. 😂😂😂
Great videos!!!! Looking for plans for all inclusive cross cut jig .
Need some help. TOM W.
Now I realize that you are self-taught! That encourages me a lot because I only saw older men trained in expensive academies. Thank you!
Awesome
Very cool to see the start of your channel
thank you Tamar. i predict in the future you will have an amazing work bench and shop hang in there . yup your a mom , good for you . yes i am psychic. from here i can predict the future . just hang in there .
Hi Tamar! The years for you do not pass! It's in 2022 the same thing as 2017 or even more beautiful!
Obviously not a beginner anymore! I’ve watched a lot of woodworking videos over the last 5 years I think your work is second to none.
your channel has really grown and you have made some amazing stuff over the years.
As someone who has just gotten into woodworking this year I love this channel. Very inspiring.
Awesome to hear!
Tamar your videos are the best! thanks so much.
I like your style, you’ve already taught me a lot..
Don't you just it when you kids announce that they went to the bathroom! But truly Tamar I love everything about you, you're so real and that is so refreshing! I always look forward to what you're going to build next! Keep up the videos!!! 🙌🏼
Lynnette Quick haha thanks so much Lynette!! You can't make this stuff up... 😂
Exactly....I was wondering what is different about her but not getting the words...she is real and refreshing....smiles are a bonus...I am great full for seeing a person like her... Lynnette Quick thanks for the words...and Tamar thanks for you being you
Hi, I just love your attitude and the fact that you so clearly point out how fun and creative DIY build projects can be.
Another reason why I love your channel is the fact that you show that it's not a "man thing" to use drills and other power tools etc. It's a shame that especially many women still stand back from this type of activity (even in a quite gender liberated country like Denmark, where I live). It is a thing for everybody. - It is simply having fun being active and creative.
Yet another good thing is that these types of builds usually last a long time so they can be nice souvenirs reminding us about the good experiences for many years. When (if) I get old and doze off in my "rocking chair" I expect to blink at the pieces in the room and smile. :-)
Note: I'm 61 y.o. and self-taught starting looooong before the Internet/UA-cam came into existence, and as you I have gained a lot of knowledge over the years just by DOING. It is such a giving process.
I found your channel through this French speaking guy giving credit to you: ua-cam.com/video/Od1kj8MOMtA/v-deo.html
I really didn't see this funny part of your channel!! I even didn't know you're the mother of three children!! wow!! I just saw a little girl in some part of one of your clip!! It will be funny and so difficult to take care of the three children, usually in school time! wow, you're a hero! I Hope you're doing well every single day Tamar. Thanks for sharing this, Alex
Haha! Yeah. We have fun over here 😉
Really looking forward to seeing you on UA-cam more and really enjoy your Instagram feed! Oh and the outtakes were priceless!!! Keep up the good work!
Mike Merzke hahaha they were too good not to share.
Tamar i just found your channel and am very impressed and entertained by what you do. Your willingness to try anything and learn as you go is a testament to what can be done with a little know how and determination. I look forward to whst else you share with us.
+Home Craft Chronicles so glad you found me! I look forward to sharing more projects with all of you!
I'm not sure how you do it but being a Mom in and of itself can be exhausting. You do a great job of explaining and crafting, as I've now seen several of your videos. Your enthusiasm is contagious. I especially like your mini mortising jig.
It’s a lot. Ha thanks!
Hahaha! this is awesome Tamar! And I'm not being dramatic! I love this video. I'm excited to see what you share with us and I'm definitely looking forward to getting to know you guys more. Fun, funny and cute too. 😊 Wishing you guys all the best. Have a great weekend!
tender lovell care your so kind Matthew! Thanks!

This community of DIYers is awesome. Keep up the great videos
It sure is!! I’ll do my best. Ha
Outtakes! I love the outtakes! Bloopers, blunders.

Loved the bloopers at the end.
Great stuff, I love your box joint bench I was inspired by something like that by Jimmy DiResta to build my giant dovetail desk. Keep up with the can do attitude and experimenting keep at it! I have two kids too and my wife and I know the struggle...
Funny bloopers!! Specially the bathroom announcement. So familiar 😂😂😂😂
Ha! Yeah. Always a good time with them around 😂
Looking forward to more builds. Keep the fun going.
I'll do my best! haha!

Awesome! Thanks so much! ☺️☺️
The kids and laughs at the end are priceless.
Haha glad you liked it
I literally had to look up how you learned your incredible skill after watching your video on the charging end-table. This gives me hope I can aspire to your level by my bootstraps (with a lot fo practice!) Thanks so much for the positive intro!! I think I'm going to have to start at your first video and follow thru trying every method :-D
Ha! If I can do it you can too!
I am so SUPER happy to find you!!! I am new as well, mom of 2. Learning so much about woodworking from UA-cam, blogs, books etc...love the bloopers 😂. Gonna find you on IG now.
mysinsareforgiven awesome!!! There’s is such an amazing community of other women/mom woodworkers on IG. It’s really so amazing there are so many of us!

I’ve learned a lot from your channel but... that one may still be my favorite?
I just know that you have a great channel. Right now I am going through your videos list starting from the bottom. Each one is encouraging me to see the next. Hish you always happy

Lovely.
I enjoy your channel! Also, the bloopers at the end of this... perfect!
Thanks so much! Ha! My kids make his endeavor just a bit more complicated
3x3Custom - Tamar, kids will do that! I have 4 kids, and they always want to help in the shop (aka: basement) too! :)
Awesome. Very real! Can't wait to see what's next!
Madira Design ha! That's all I can do! Thanks!
Fantastic
You and your family… Are so charming. It’s really not fair to all the other people who are doing videos… You are loaded with charisma and Artistry on your projects.
Thanks so much 😊
You're great! Keep those videos coming!
Thanks! I’ll try! Ha
Loved the intro!
Thanks!
You are amazing.
I love your videos jaja the introduction bloopers awsome jaja.
Ha! Thanks!
Thank you for having the courage to start this channel. I'm a builder too but haven't mastered some tools. One is a table saw and the other is a trim router (well, any type of routers none the less). Could you please make a video on using the Rigid trim router because I just picked up the same one and I'm lost as how to use it? Thanks again and welcome to UA-cam!
Dorayley Rae Ramses thanks! It really did take a lot of courage and deep breaths to actually press the publish button on here... but now I’m happy I did it! I can try to work on one. But if you even have any questions feel free to reach out to me. I usually answer all DMs on Instagram. ☺️
Great Intro to your channel - and I LOVE the outtakes! Ha! Kids these days...LOL
Haha.... seriously... 😂😂
New to the channel! Excited to watch your videos. I really like the way your present them
Thanks!
Loved this video! Your work is exceptional, to me you are a Pro 😎 love watching your videos
Thanks so much!
I really like the live edge coat rack project. I have some black walnut planks that are seasoning and I'll try this as soon as its warm enough to work here (Ontario). I've been thinking a lot about the attachment and think that I'll try a 'built in' French cleat with the mate to be attached to the wall made out of black walnut as well. Since the slot for the French cleat will have to pass through the pivoting parts, that will be a full dado. I've got a few details to work out I'm sure.
I enjoy your videos. Keep up the great videos.
Also appreciate your choice of Scotch on the bar cart.
Paul
Awesome! Have fun with it!
@@3x3CustomTamar I'm also thinking of trimming the bottom edge straight to avoid the complicated geometry and use a continuous long rod as pivot.
Have always wondered where 3x3 came from. It's a cool graphic.
good luck to you and your nice kids , wish you the best
Thank you!
Haha. That was awesome. I totally have the same philosophy. I've learned a ton. I'm no pro, but when I share it's to give back and to show that if I can do it anyone can.
The online woodworking community is just so amazing. We all learn and grow from each other. Community over competition!
3x3Custom - Tamar Amen. So true. It's precious to encourage each other and bring each other up.
You're cool! :) Had watched your other videos firstly, learned something from you, thanks BTW! And then, saw this intro :) Return to the future backwards ))) SO much positive! Thank You! :)
🤘
I knew there had to be a S.1E.1 out there SOMEWHERE!
Haha! 🤘
OOHRAH! I love it!! Semper Fi
Thanks! 🤘
@@3x3CustomTamar Pardon my saying this, but here it goes, "xoxox." Semper Fi
Good work Tamar
Thanks ☺️
Love your channel, love your opps ……. and your fixes.
Question: Have you ever made a height gauge to measure the height of your table saw blade or router bit height? If so where could I find it.
Thanks! Nope. Never made one
Love your videos, you be at 1mil subs soon!
Thanks so much! ☺️
Hi Tamar! Love your channel! I would like to see how you organise your workshop and what machines you use. Last year my barn burnt down and I lost all my tools and machinery. The upside is that I get to rebuild and replace everything. So now I search for inspiration everywhere. //A
Oh no! Maybe I’ll make a video on that
Hi Tamara, I loved this video, you are a breath of fresh air. I am in the process of changing my career from a professional back ground to DIY here in England and so have been watching many many you tube vids on making things. Your channel is fabulous so far. Thank you. I do have a question, what advice do you have for setting up a you tube channel to get me started? Thanks in advance. Alan
Thanks so much! DIY life is super fun! Setting up UA-cam channel advice.... hmmm.... Just be yourself and be consistent. I’ve only just started myself. So I don’t have all the answers!
You’re COOL. Thanks
As a wannabe youtuber and a father of three I know, the struggle is real. The silence is golden :D
Great channel!
Greetings from Israel
תודה! שלום!!
I love your videos. I think you r awesome. keep up the good work. I hope I get to b as good as you r, some day. Have a good day
Thanks so much!
Hello, entering my fifties I recently took up woodworking and discovered your videos. I am very happy that I did, because I have already learned quite a bit from you. Thank you! I do have one question though. In your juice groove/cutting board video, you smoothed the cutting board with your DeWalt thickness planer (a very good planer I hear), but then sanded over it. I have understood that planing is superior to sanding, so I am wondering what advantage you see to sanding after planning. Thank you and I look forward to more videos.
Hi! That’s so awesome to hear! Sometimes I get lines or snipe from my planer that need to be sanded out. If I were proficient with my hand tools could prob use a handplane to get a super smooth finish
@@3x3CustomTamar Thanks for the reply! (From Boston :)
That's real life right there!!
Travis Marker 😂😂 that's what you'll get here!
3x3Custom - Tamar I love how you have one of your kids as the camera operator too!
Travis Marker 2 of them... they took turns...
Good 👍 luck girl

Haha! Thanks!
Very good your channel, I enjoyed it and I made my inscription to follow more videos.
Thanks so much!
Really your work you're beautiful
I just wanted to welcome you to my list of subscriptions. Good luck!
Awesome! Welcome!
Mom bloopers. Lol. I understand!
😂😂😂
You learned from being a mother too. Your careful language, your attention to detail, is very motherly and kind. If you deal with your kids the same way, they're probably very well-adjusted kids. Who's your old man? You should get him out there from time to time, show us who the lucky man is.
Ha. I hope that’s the case. He’s a very private person. That’s why I don’t show him ☺️
@@3x3CustomTamar He's blessed to have such a cheerful, hard-working woman like you!
NICE👍👍👍
Thanks!
Follow along.... Woooooh Sssahhhhh! Woooo Sssahhhhh
You're fabulous
+ref77777 ha! I’m just having a lot of fun.
Hello Tamara hope all goes well I’m new to your channel it’s awesome how you put bloopers in the end and get the kiddos out involved. Also that cap you have there what is the logo? I’ve seen it on a few of your vids and can’t make it out.
Thanks! Are you referring to the beach and barn hat?
3x3Custom - Tamar. Yeah the one on the bench. I like it and I’m a collector of hats of those style. I have one similar with a donkey on it. It reads “I’m a smart one” look forward to more vids
Thanks for to answer.I didn't imagine that you would read my message, having so many subscribers in your chanel.
Where are you based out of? I love your videos by the way! Keep up the SOLID content ☺️
Thanks so much! Appreciate that
Hey, Tamar. Super impressed with your waterfall table. I've been trying to get better at wood working, but you've gotten to a top 1% skill level, seemingly really quickly. Really impressive. Beyond YT and so on, have you taken classes? (The kid / bloopers are charming as can be, also). Thanks, Tom
Thanks! I haven’t taken any classes. I Learn a ton from trial and error ha
@@3x3CustomTamar Wow. You have more guts than I do. Self-taught on the table saw + router table, too?
Yup. I watched a ton of safety videos before using those tools though
Hi T. I’m not a big Instagram user. Love youtube better. Hope you post here as much.
👍👍

Great channel Thanks!!
את מישראל במקור?
תודה! לא אבל האמא שלי מישראל.
מגניב!
המון בהצלחה כיף לראות את העבודה שלך
Ever think about doing a video of bloopers from all of your recordings?
Ha. No. But that might be funny
I admire you, Mama! I'm a mom with a 20-mo-old and a fetus, and I yearn to be a woodworker so badly!
How has your journey been from a Mom into a woodworker? Sometimes the dream seems so far out of grasp. But I could use some down-to-earth advice--good, bad, and ugly, you know?
Hi! So I didn’t even start to think this could be a reality until my youngest was in school. I would sneak in small projects during nap time and all that. But I couldn’t really focus on it until he was off to school. Now that the kids are in school it’s just all about planning. I spend the mornings taking care of the house. Prepping dinner and all that. Then I have the afternoons to build (and now edit videos) once the kids are home at 3 all the tools go down and it’s all focus on the kids again! It’s a lot of hard work and juggling. But it’s all worth it!
😂😂😂👍
Where are you from??
New York

Armenian ?
No. Israeli.
Yep, I picked up the "Oi", at the end.
Although, I use it myself and I am not Israeli or Jewish or even close.
I find it to be Very expressive.
In my life,..... the way I do things,..... it gets used ,....often,....like a lot. Oi! 🙄
zapa1pnt yeah o picked up on that as well and I’m loke she has accent that only middle easterners have lol and Armenians name their daughters Tamar as well
