actually that model of dispenser has a calibrate setting for water, you need to press the correct 2 buttons simultaneously to adjust this setting, there are some other utube channels that show how this is done.
Appreciated the insights. Your comments put us over the top on buying this fridge. Our only annoyance, as you mentioned, its a little on the louder side when the compressor is running. Not terrible, but more noticeable than expected. Plenty large enough for our family of 4 adults.
Yeah, some of the door bins can be very tight. We try to remove those as little as possible. And the drawers hitting the door just seems like a poor design. Thanks for the comment.
We just bought the counter depth fridge...very small interior but that's our space. The whirlpool side by side fridge rolls out every time we open a door. My husband wants to mess with bottom but I'm afraid he will mess with the doors getting uneven. Please help. This refridgerator is a bit loud but I guess it takes getting used to. Please help with the rolling issue. Thank you!
I have a Samsung fridge and I’ve had so many problems with the ice maker. I think this fridge you reviewed will be much better. Thank you for doing a great review of this make and model!
I just bought this model from Lowes and I just love it! I went from a 23.5 cu to this 28.4.....soooo much more space in freezer, fridge door and the depth is soo much roomier! We can fit three gallons of milk in a row, going towards the back! The refrigerator door can actually handle 6 shelves. So, I went on several parts sites to find the biggest one available, about 15 1/2 x 6 1/2. Amazon is offering two for the price of one drawer on other sites. So, I went ahead and ordered them and I'll use the extra as a backup if one should ever crack. They were two for $48.00. Hope this helps😊
Thank you for the video. We just bought this model less than 1 week (WRS588FIHZ). By reading the Specifications (online and in the Manual), also by talking to the Sale Associate at Lowe's, I understand that this Model does not require to change the Air Filter. It has what they told me is a permanent air filter at the spot you pointed in the video, but no need to replace that filter. Please correct me, if my understanding is not correct. Thank you very much.
Those filters are just charcoal filters. They do wear out. I have never heard of a permanent one. They essentially act just like baking soda. Eventually they 'fill up'.
Curious if I'm alone? We also bought this refrigerator 4 yrs ago and agree it was the best design, held so much more. But just a month or two before manufacture warranty was to expire we started having problems with the food on left side of the refrigerator freezing. Fortunately we had a 3 year extension on a warranty. We have had the same parts replaced 4 times followed by ice maker replacement in one month's time. What a shame, I still believe it is the best in design. We've had a number of refrigerators over the years with moving, including french door style and this one still ranks on top in design.
The icemaker does seem to be a common part that people complain about. So far, we have had no issues with ours. I haven't seen a lot of freezing complaints. I do know that overloading can cause it do that. No idea if that could relate to what you are seeing or not. Juts an idea. I know it was big enough of an issue that they put a label on the back. We actually made another video on that subject as well.
You're very welcome. So glad if helped you with your decision making process. There is a playlist for this fridge as well with 3 other videos that you might find helpful as well. Thank you for your comment.
You're welcome. The only concern we've really had personally with the fridge are mixrocracks in the door shelves, but we would choose it again. Once it had an error code but it was shortly after a power outage. We unplugged it and plugged it back in and it's worked fine. Glad you find the content helpful.
Great review...you guys were funny 😀. You answered my question about that filter on the left side. I guess I'll have to buy one, you would think you'd get one though. But anyway, thanks for the review. We just got one very similar to yours, so far I like it! Had to get rid of our 5 1/2 yr old LG....😢 garbage fridges 😞
an affiliate link for the air filters are in the pinned comment, but let us know if you need a link to one that fits our model assuming it fits yours as well.
We have eight people here, sometimes 10 with foster children, and this fridge looks like a good fit size wise. They are all boys, so the quantity of food is surprising to me. Our current fridge is 21.7 cubic feet and I just bought this one today. Really anxious for more space.
No it does not. There are just two of us, but in all fairness, we just got this yesterday. So maybe if we let it get full, before we start using it. Maybe. We have another older whirlpool that has a large, not in the door ice maker, that has all the ice you’ll ever need. So well use that as a back up. The ice cubes are kinda triangle, not the crescent shape as usual. Our fridge is loud, I think, still we have only had a day. One thing, let me say. Never buy an LG. I have been arguing with Home Depot warranty, that I paid for, since September. I had to buy an older fridge, and I am still waiting for a check. Where we live, there is no one that repairs LG appliances near me or even out of state. Just a warning. So now I have three refrigerators. The non working 3 yr old LG and the older whirlpool to tide us over until Home Depot warranty decided what they were gonna do. These are in the garage and we have to dispose of the LG ourselves 🤦🏼♀️, and the new one, that was delivered yesterday. I do like the new one, it just doesn’t seem to make enough ice.
This fridge is garbage. When it stops making ice it will need a complete new freezer door to make the ice maker work again at a cost of $1600. Bad wiring harness design
Thanks for this, but I inherited this model fridge and can't figure out how to put the glass shelves and produce/meat bins into the fridge section. You ever make a video about that?
@@pamelawalker9056 We have not had any of the major issues that some have had. Some minor cracking in the corners of bins are the only thing we have seen.
We've had this fridge for 3 years and love it. However, recently the water stopped working in the middle of filling my cup up. I checked the water line, and it's not clogged, so not sure what happened. Maybe the line inside the fridge?
@@unravelmedesigns If the ice maker still works then likely not. They use the same supply line. My first suspicion would be the paddle switches or the control board. A good unplug, wait a few mins, plug back up might be a good place to start.
@@TheProjectHelpDesk yep, unplugged it already, that didn't help. The ice maker is trying to make ice, but the water isn't getting enough pressure there either. It's dripping down the back behind the ice container, and sometimes making smaller pieces of ice.
@unravelmedesigns yeah, dripping back makes it sound like something in the icemaker itself. I have heard about them freezing up. But thawing it out as a test might not be convenient.
Does the ice-maker shut off automatically when full or do I have to manually turn it off every time it gets full/go on vacation/etc.? I don't see a shut off arm in the ice-maker.
Thanks for the review. I have a 12 year old version of this fridge that I’m going to need to replace soon. I’ve enjoyed the fridge design so I’m leaning towards this model again but my one hold back is that all of my drawers in the fridge are now held together with packing tape. The plastic front in all of them have broken. Have you experienced and of the fronts of the drawers breaking? Thanks
The two drawers in the fridge itself have not shown any cracks. Now we admittedly do not store a ton of stuff in ours, so they do not get as much as use as yours possibly. Our door shelves have micro cracks in the corners. Right where the plastic curves around. But they seem more cosmetic than functional.
I enjoyed watching this video, but I have to say that I am struggling with this fridge because I was not given any given any instructions/explanations concerning the control panel. I was given a manual, but it is written for a great number of different fridges and it doesn't cover the control panel at all. How can I obtain detailed instructions regarding the control panel?
Yes there is. We actually discuss that in one of our latest videos on the fridge after a couple of people asked about all of the control panel features so during part of it we discussed the fast ice (briefly). ua-cam.com/video/rMHwlZ_5Gak/v-deo.html
I have the exact refrigerator and the water randomly stopped coming out from the dispenser. I had replaced the filter when ready, drained out the amount the filter recommended with no problems. My son tried to use the measure fill feature to fill a gallon jug, so he set it to the max amount of ounces, pressed fill, a few ounces came out then it completely stopped putting out water and has not worked since. I tried removing the water filter and resetting again, but still no water coming out and it's not filling the ice maker. Do you know what could be going on?
That one is weird. If you are getting water then all of the primary components are working. And changing the filter shouldn't affect that. The first thing that pops to mind is that a good power cycle might spring it back to life. Basically unplug it for a few minutes. These fridges have different styles of ice makers and some have power switches also. They wouldn't get turned off but maybe flipping the switch would also bounce it back. Sorry that I don't have a good answer on this one.
@@go14183 We do not. Ours still works fine. While that is a common complaint when you look at complaints in total, I do not know what percentage of these fridges have that fault. Sometimes a very low overall percentage of an item having the same fault can make it look worse than it is. No idea if that applies here or not. But no, ours has not had that issue.
That is where our problem is, the wired are broken. Extended warranty thru Assurant, will not fix and instead wants to refund purchase price. We still have over a year and half warranty and seems stupid to get rid of when the rest works fine. I just need the wires soldered.
To be honest, I have never been impressed with the coldness of this. I don't actually use the water dispenser. I keep cold water glass bottles in the fridge.
Don’t you just love a fridge that comes with a filter but no filter system? The ultimate value for money life hack 😂 Have to admit this thing looks styllliiiiisssssh. And useful. Without a word of a joke, I can honestly say probably 99 percent of the time we have a job to close the fridge. Everything goes in there to keep it fresh 😂
Thanks for your video. Your info is helpful. I got this fridge from my family and I dont like like it at all. It too small. everything freezes becuase you cant put anything on the top shelf. The freezer shelves are odd, space for 4 yet theres only 3. The water fills so slow it takes forever to fill my water . I wish I had something positive .
@@MG-qk8tx as long as your pressure stays consistent then this is true. Our setup causes our pressure to fluctuate. So our GPM changes as our pressure changes. This is what affects our measured fill.
So far we have only had two 'issues'. We got an E01 sensor error once that was resolved with a powercycle and the door shelves have some very fine micro cracks in the sharp corners at the top. Not enough to affect anything. We plan on doing a follow-up video in the near future. Lot of projects going on right now. Check out the comments and you can see other peoples issues that they ran across.
So they might. There is a tray on Amazon that seems like it would fit. BUT I have heard that they may not. We have debated on gambling and buying it to see if it would work. Officially, this model does not have or support one. But I have heard that a similar model with a different brand (all made by the same company) does. But again, I have seen some say that it does not fit well.
We have this too! Love it. However we are just now connecting the ice maker/water line. The fridge will not move out. It is like rollers are locked. Does yours move easily? Any suggestions for us? Thanks!
I'll have the husband look at this when he wakes up. Have you seen the video where be hooks up the waterline? I know it moved easily when he was checking for noise but can't remember if he did something when he set it up with the wheels or not. Stay tuned. There is a fridge series playlist that may or may not have addressed that. Again I'll have him look at the comment when be wakes. He may have some trouble shooting ideas.
Ours moved easy. In the past, I've had a case where the wheels kind of dug into linoleum and it just required a little extra umph to get it going. We don't think there are any feet on this fridge just rollers. Hope this helps and keep us updated!
@@TheProjectHelpDeskjust received my refrigerator yesterday and when I try to open the doors, the refrigerator rolls towards me. I went last night and bought Scott’s anti slip pads to put under rollers. Haven’t done that yet because I need help to lift the refrigerator. Hope it works.
I just ordered the same fridge from Home Depot. The manufacturer failed to drill holes for the plastic light covers. I have to wait until next week for Maytag to come back and check what the issue is. We paid a lot for this fridge and the least they could do is make sure all parts are installed properly. I’m also waiting for fridge to cook down so I can put food back in. Book says wait 24 hours for temperature to regulate itself and put food in. Freezer is getting cold quickly yet fridge part is still not cool enough. How long did you guys have to wait to put food back in fridge side? Thanks for the update on your fridge.
Honestly I don't remember, but it was same day. Because our old fridge was right in the middle of the kitchen. We had a food thermometer to check temps.
@@irmacenteno4688 ours has a switch behind the icemaker bin itself. But I would also look for a broken wire in the wiring harness at the bottom of the freezer door. It is a known complaint about this model.
Hello, We just got a Whirlpool 21cu side-by-side refrigerator (WRS331SDHM) and aside from being noisy at times, we've had an issue with the fridge side(Right door) door. When we open it to get something, the door just swings past 90 degrees and opens way too wide for what we need. It seems like there should be something stopping it or slowing it down. Apparently, it didn't come with anything, is there a recommendation of something that can be bought to help this situation? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I checked ours, and it also seems to not have a stop point. At least not one that I am aware of. I haven't seen or read anything specific that would address that. The ont thing that comes to mind is tweaking the levelness. If it is as close to level as possible, then in theory the door shouldn't have any wild swings in regards to speed. It should gently open, even if it does still open all the way.
@@johnnieflllr first thing I would do is put the old one back. Make sure it still works. Could be a defective filter. Maybe still has some air in the line?
Mywirpool - like your- now making ice but dispenser doesn’t work. And each time I need ice I have to open the door and take ice by my self . What can I do?
It is hard to troubleshoot one remotely. That could be a failed control panel or paddle switch. It might be best to get someone to look at it in this case.
There can be a lot of reasons. Too many to easily list. There is a TSB where the fridge switch doesn't fully close. There could be broken wires in the wiring harness. The ice maker itself could also just be broken. I would also check the power switch behind the bin. Those are the most likely root causes that I am aware of.
We got everything we were supposed to yes. Because they are adjustable, it doesn't come with one for every slot. You pick which slots you want. Kind of like the oven.
I just took delivery at the same refrigerator yesterday. So it's now been running for approximately 24 hours. I know at least when I woke up this morning around 4:00 a.m. the compressor is running and it is now 11:45am it's still running. Is that unusual for it to run continually. I'll have to track it to see if it eventually turns off. It possibly did go off during the middle of the night, but I don't know. I do have the refrigerator and freezer temperatures set at factory setting. My old refrigerator would come on and then go off. Your thoughts?
3:50am I moved into a house it had a whirlpool fridge in it and no filter was in the the filter holder, but thats ok i know where i can get it from now thanks to yall i appreciate thay and much cheaper, but my question is when i get my filter in it should statt making ice and giving me water right?
Short answer is yes. Some of those require the filter for the water and ice to work. Longer answer is maybe. There could be other unknown issues. But the filter is a good place to start.
I have a question have the same fridge it says it’s supposed to have the feature with the display light that will stay on 24 seven is this true? If so, how do you leave the light on all the time for the display to light up so we can get a glass of water in the middle of the night without turning on the kitchen light it should be illuminated. Can you do this?
So there is a display mode where the fridge itself cuts off but the lights all work like normal. But to my knowledge they do not stay on 24/7. They still operate off the door. If there is a 24/7 version, I am not aware of it.
I just ordered the same model fridge. The #1 complaint I've seen on reviews online are regarding the wires that are routed through the bottom left side of the freezer door getting pinched and eventually broken. Have you seen this as an issue on yours or heard similar complaints?
I really have seen a lot of things. Mainly just bins and such that sit inside. There is a butter tray that I have thought about buying, but it may not actually fit. We have debated.
Have you experienced any condensation occurring on the outer casing on the unit, particularly on the top horizontal surface left rear side or the rear vertical surface center area running the almost the full length top to bottom of the unit? The condensation on my unit is so bad that water ran down a power cord and dripped into a GCFI socket which wound up tripping and killing the power. This is a big concern to me!
We have had no condensation issues. Personally it sounds like a case of cold air escaping the unit through some type of insulation/gasket failure. But just a total guess.
I just had this refrigerator installed in my house. I am trying to understand the function of the Fresh Flow plastic housing. The refrigerator came with a piece of Styrofoam inside this plastic housing, blocking any cold air from getting into the fresh food section of the refrigerator. The piece of Styrofoam is glued to a black plate with wires connected to it. Should the piece of Styrofoam be cut away form the black plate to allow air flow into the refrigerator? Please advise. Thanks, John
@@TheProjectHelpDeskI just received my refrigerator and was wondering the same thing. Thank you. So the styrofoam stays in place and the Fresh Flow goes in front of it???
Just bought this fridge last week. Seems to work fine so far, but there is a noticeable humming noise every 30 minutes or so. Have you guys experienced this with your unit? If so, what did you do? Thanks!
No. The Styrofoam piece is actually part of the assembly. It stays in and has small holes for airflow. Seems very counterintuitive doesn't it? If I remember correctly you can can see this 'part' in the diagrams to help confirm. It is part number W11317276 on some models and is called an Air Diffuser.
my ice maker is building up ice underneath the ice tray as if water is dripping. also on the ice level arm lots of ice build up! not sure what's going on can you help?
Depending on the type of ice build up, it could be a number of things. A badly unlevel fridge is one of those. Too far off level and the water could spill over easier as it sloshes in. To be honest it is a hard thing to diagnose remotely. Oddly enough, it could just be evaporation/condensation. We get ice build up under our ice bin. It resembles a snowy buildup. I pull the ice bin outs about nonce s year for cleaning and use that time to remove the built up ice.
thanks so much for this video, just got this model. The air filter in the fridge did not come with a filter but looks like there is Styrofoam in that behind the filter space, does yours have that as well. Wondering if that is by design or just a shipping thing
I know my husband knows the answer to this one so I'll have him look at this comment when he gets off work. I can link to our storefront on Amazon if you need to take a look at the filters that fit this fridge before he comes home. Just let me know.
@@mfungafat This is our Amazon storefront and there is a list called The Refrigerator list. We believe the filters will work. We bought a different one and that one is no longer available, but the one I included in the list just now just have the same number so we believe it should be the right filter. The water filter listed we did a video on those specific ones the cheaper ones and notice dthey are on a great sale right now. They might be refurbished filters, but they have done us well so far and it's one of the most popular items purchased from our associates listing with minimal returns. As soon as my husband gets home I'll let him know you are looking for answers. :) www.amazon.com/shop/TheProjectHelpDesk
Yes, the Styrofoam piece is in ours also and is part of the fridge. There are three small holes in the foam to let air pass through the filter. A 'Do not remove' label sure would have been a nice addition. I had wondered the same thing when we got ours. I looked up the parts list to ensure it was intended to be there.
@@TheProjectHelpDesk thank you. I had to check several times to make sure I was not supposed to remove it. ANd you all get an A+ for customer service and fast responses, which are also directly answers my questions. Very rare indeed!!!
I get a rattle noise that seems to be coming from the air filter area. I just noticed this and also noticed that there is not air filter in it. Got any suggestions as to why I have the rattle
Without having hands on, it is difficult to guess. But there is a spinning fan that blows air between the compartments. Possibly something built up on a fan blade causes it to hit something or be off balance maybe? Hard to say unfortunately. Ours hasn't had any issues in that department.
Yes. The switch you see in that shot is the power switch for the ice maker. It is also the closest thing that they have to a reset button for it. Turning this off will turn the ice maker off.
@@TheProjectHelpDesk Thank you ! I got confused which position is ON n which position is OFF. So saw yours and kept it in the same position. Tada....there is ice now
Have the same exact model. What is the large coil of plastic tubing in the refrigerator? It's just below the upper drawer. Does it need to be there? I have copper tubing already set up for the water supply. What is it there for? Thanks, good video!
My husband will look at your question when he gets home tonight from work and provide some thoughts. Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment. We have a playlist full of fridge related things based on questions people have asked before , but that hasn't been one of them.
@@TheProjectHelpDesk Great! I already watched them all! Yeah, It doesn't make much sense to me. If you were able to unroll the tubing it would probably be over 5 feet long. Connected to a grey tube with a connector of sorts. It is held there with zip-ties. Idk
@@ReverseProof So that coil of tubing is actually the Chilled Water Reservoir. A very cheap version of one, I admit. Basically the fridge makers needed a way to have tap water lose heat quickly. The easiest 'radiator' they could build with existing parts was to simply coil up some tubing in the bottom of the fridge. They are usually always in the bottom where the cold air settles and tucked behind the drawers. Our old fridge that we replaced had the exact same setup. The longer the length, the more 'cold' water it can hold. That design also ensures that the cold water doesn't mix with the incoming room temp water. And the smaller the tubing the higher surface area to water volume you have and the faster it can cool down. Our current fridge actually replaced this with an S shaped reservoir about the diameter of a half dollar and tucked behind the back wall. It bulges into the fridge. It takes longer to cool and doesn't seem to last as long. I actually prefer that older design with the coiled tube. We actually plan on mentioning that as part of the 18 month follow-up review. The other advantage is that it is easy to add capacity to that system if you wanted a crap ton more cold water available :)
@@ReverseProof One caveat. If it is the 'exact' same then you would see an S shaped bulge on the back and I would think that maybe someone else 'fixed' it. It could be a design change too between different versions of the same model. We will try to put together a more detail vid in the near future of the old and new model.
@@TheProjectHelpDesk Holy smokes. I wouldn't have guessed that. Makes sense, just weird they put the tubing inside the fridge, I've never seen that before. Thanks for the explanation! I just bought this one yesterday. Same "almost", exact unit. #WR5588FIHZ04
So that one is tricky. We actually did do some digging. Here is what we found. Basically, it sounds like they make this same basic fridge for multiple brands. One of the brands actually comes with an egg /butter shelf with a plastic door. There is one that 'might' fit but apparently at some point either the shelf or the door changed and while it 'Kind of' fits some people have complained about it not fitting correctly. If you want to see the part number of the one in question you can see it here: amzn.to/3SK9TSr Now that one is expensive as crap and is shipped from and sold by a company in China. There are a lot of knockoffs on the Zon around $70 and some as low as $30 from other companies. Which is still ridiculous for one shelf. That is why we never gambled and tried ordering it. But if you want to see what we think fits there, just do a generic google on "WPW10324760". This is what we THINK is designed to go there.
@@JenniferTrocke Nothing specific. We had an error code once after a power outage. Powercycling fixed that. We have some small micro cracks in the corners of the fridge bins. Likely caused by stress from over packing items or pulling on them. But they aren't enough to affect functionality. More visual. The major items that people occasionally talk about, related to broken wires or broken water/ice makers, have not affected ours yet. As of this moment we are still happy with ours.
I have a whirlpool side by side that has the fresh flow air filter, I think!!! It makes a screwy noise in that area where the filter goes from time to time, s I thought it was maybe time to change the filter since we haven't since we bought it a couple of years ago. I opened the door that covers the filter and found that there was no filter, just foam board. So is the foam supposed to be there? Did the factory just miss putting the filter in? I don't see how any air could pass by the foam board.
There are 3 small holes in the foam board for air to go through. To our knowledge the foam board is supposed to be there. We haven't been able to find any information that it shouldn't be there. Ours did NOT come with an air filter. We might need to make a video about the foam board & the air filter since we have had a few people ask about it.
@@TheProjectHelpDesk That's odd that they don't include the air filter, but do include the water filter. Thanks for your quick reply. I'll have to get that filter ordered. But by the noise it's making from time to time I may need more parts. Not sure if that fresh flow cycles or not, ha ha ha, but it just made the noise.
@@jamesaddison3035 That is the only complaint I have about mine. It is so noisy! It makes a lot of noise just running. It's not a deal breaker, but annoying.
what happens if I pull out the water filter and not put one in? Am I going to have water spraying inside the refrigerator? Or am I just going to get unfiltered water?
Ours works perfectly fine with no filter. So as long as it is identical you should be good. Others have said that theirs doesn't work without a filter. But either way it shouldn't spray water.
I noticed that your ice cube maker arm was up, even tho it’s making ice. Shouldn’t it be down to let the ice maker know when to stop? Mine is stuck up too and never comes down.
This model is different. The in door one uses an actual power switch behind the ice bin to cut it on and off. The arm actually stays up under normal conditions, and does an occasional level check. So unlike most of the n freezer models, this arm should never be manually manupulated.
@@TheProjectHelpDesk oh wow!! I thought it might be broken and I was tempted to try and bend it. I swear I read the user guide and all it said is what it should look like in a lowered position. Thanks for your reply, I will keep an eye on it. Ice went past the fill line so not sure how high it has to go to shut off itself. I am also getting an annoying constant buzzing sound coming from what I assume is the motor in the lower back of the fridge. My old whirlpool made no noise unless it was making or dropping ice. This is a loud enough hum I can hear it in the next room. And my fridge is less than a week old, but past the 48 return window. Anyway, thanks for your response!
I've got the same model, have had it for almost 2 years now. I want to clean the dust from the condenser, can you show how to do that? Thanks for any help
We will work on that. I actually cleaned the dust from mine not too long ago. I might just need to find the footage. We will reply here once the video goes live. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
So there supposedly is an egg try that USED to fit, but based on comments, it sounds like they changed the design in the past and the rounded off piece that sticks out on the left hand side makes it not fit anymore. I will try to find the part number later today. It might work. But I don't think it does anymore.
If you are talking a roll of tubing inside the frdige, behind the drawers, then that is for the chilled water. That coil of tubing allows the water to cool fairly quickly as it has a lot of surface area.
@@TheProjectHelpDeskI am glad I found you!!! So far you have answered several questions I had just by reading your answers in the comments! I have to follow your posts 😊
@@TheProjectHelpDesk I thought your accents seemed so familiar. My father is from southern Virginia near the N. Carolina border. I told my husband, I would bet anything they are from VA or NC! How great. Yes, the fridge yall chose is HUGE. It looks like a great one. Thanks so much for doing the review. It really has been helpful for us.
@Sabrina Shelton reason we chose it for us is because we hated our small one. Every time I opened the freezer hald the stuff fell out. That's only happened once with this one. And only because we crammed it full so something popped out of the door shelf when I opened it.
We still like ours so far. But we have no idea what we paid. We bought ours pre covid and during the memorial day appliance sale and 5% off for using our Lowes card.
To be honest, our model does not have that feature so I am not very familiar with it. However, in general, I always start off an issue like this with a powercycle. Basically unplug the system for about 5 mins and then plug it back in. This often resolves issues were the electronic 'computer' essentially locks up. From reading the manual, all you do is repeat the process to turn it off. So if the power cycle doesn't work, you might have to call a repair tech.
You may also want to make sure that the panel lock wasn't activated and forgotten. 31 OPTIONAL FUNCTIONS Control panel lock function This function prevents accidental changing of appliance settings or switching off. The panel can be locked by pressing both the fast freeze button on the left of the panel and the vacation button on the right of the panel at the same time, for about 3 seconds: the symbol will come on and an acoustic alarm will indicate activation of the function. To deactivate the function, carry out the same procedure until the symbol goes off
We are not at home to research but we'll look into this either later today or in the morning and get back to you. However we simply put our butter on one of our shelves. But we will look into this. Great question
So I will preface this with, we did not buy this part. Partly because of the price. Partly due to uncertainty. But back when we bought ours I did a little research and I 'THINK' that the part number for the butter tray that fits this is W10324760 or WPW10324760. However I ran into various comments that seemed in imply that it used to fit this fridge and no longer does in the newest models. So this really is a YMMV situation. But as I understand it, this model butter dish only goes at the very top of the door and should fit this model. If you decide to gamble then I would I would suggest going though somewhere with an easy return policy just in case. Here are some links to locations that mention this item: www.whirlpoolparts.com/PartDetail/Door-Shelf-Bin/WPW10324760/1937848 amzn.to/3oIuFDT
@@TheProjectHelpDesk Thanks very much for the info! Yeah I just bought a 2021 model and noticed that it looks like something should go up there but nothing came with it. I'll look into those parts. Thanks again! 🙂
To my knowledge, that isn't an option with any adjustments. The in the door model had fairly small cubes. As long as the pressure is good and none of the hoses are kinked, it should produce a cube about two thumbs total in size. But I have never found a setting that relates to any kind of adjustments.
So far we have not regretted it. We have had ours for two years now and we have only had two 'complaints'. Some of the bins in the door have developed small micro cracks in the curved corners These have not affected them functionally. One time we got an E1 error (Sensor Error) that resolved after a powercycle. This occurred not too long after power outages and has not returned since the powercycle. I would recommend checking the comments in all of the videos in this playlist as it includes some complaints that others have seen that we have not. Such as leaking water lines at the bottom of the freezer door. We have not had that issue.
Help! I bought this today! Its going to be delivered tomorrow. I just realized I have a half inch from the fridge to the wall. I know we won’t have room but will it at least open? I know it won’t be great but at least open?
Unfortunately I can't guarantee how well it will fit. But I can tell you this. When you open the door so that it is at a 90 degree angle then the front of the door and the side of the fridge are almost identically spaced. The door is maybe a 1/4 inch closer to the wall than the side of the fridge. So in my opinion the door will open but the handle will hit the wall about 2" before it is at a 90 degree angle. So that would make it useable but would make removing the drawers complicated and likely make the point where the automatic hold open point is unreachable. IE the door will also self close unless you are holding. This is whoever an opinion based on a lot of assumptions about your layout (IE one side is completely against a wall). I hope that helps. Honestly when a fridge is required to sit completely next to a wall, I do not recommend a SxS design but rather the top bottom design where a door only opens in one direction.
Thanks for the review! I recently purchased the same refrigerator and after about a day started having the same water hammer like sound (it was not there at first). I checked the supply lines behind the refrigerator and taped it to see if it helped - it didn't. Also tried reducing the inlet water pressure to the minimum..no difference. Seems like something around the reservoir is vibrating (inside the refrigerator). Any thoughts? Anyone else having similar issues? I am concerned that this may eventually cause copper pipes in the house to break due to the vibration.
Hammering in water lines can be a sign of air in the line. When the fridge was installed, there was air in the tubing. Sometimes the solution is to turn facets on sequentially starting at the one closest to where the water enters the house from the meter. Let them run about 5 minutes and shut off in reverse order. Don't forget to flush toilets and fill some glasses with water from the fridge as well.
Honestly, this sounds like a case of a failed component. Likely something in the control panel board itself. BUT without having hands on it, this is just a guess.
Hello , I have the same model fridge and today there’s no water or ice being dispensed. All lights are out except when pressing on either pad for water or ice, the lock light comes on with code 3 on the panel.
To be honest I have always had issues with all fridges and veggies drying out. In my opinion, the very way they work, makes for a low humidity environment that sucks moisture out. Just recently I left a pepper wrapped tightly in a bag and it seemed to dry out slower. But the humidity controlled bin didn't really seem to help.
Hi, Assuming ice bucket is empty , how quickly will a new batches of ice drop? For example, does it take 2 hours for a new batch to drop ? If you go to bed with an empty ice bin, will it be full in the morning?
We will do a test on Friday night and empty the ice maker and see how full it is on Saturday morning when we wake up. I think it took 24 hours actually for it to fully fill up. There was a text overlay at about 9:00 mark with 24 hours. The 5:07 time is most about the ice maker in terms of how many cups it took for us to empty it, but we'll do that test to see how much ice is there after fully emptying the night before. We'll do that test. It shouldn't take too long to film & edit that information for you so you can visually see how much is in there from empty to next morning. Reason why we would wait until Friday / Saturday is there isn't any time to film in the morning before he goes to work. But we'll let you know by Saturday evening/Sunday morning at the latest. (barring any internet issues that keep us from putting up a video)
We realized we forgot to edit the footage. We still plan on doing that but it took about 90 minutes for a batch of ice to drop. It wasn't full when we woke up but pretty close. We also realized quick ice wasn't on so if quick ice was on it would potentially fill up faster.
Luck. We had ours delivered. I don't remember if they removed our screen door or not. I seem to recall they opened up The door of the fridge to pivot it in and it took a long time with two people to get it in the house. I'll have my husband look at the comment after he wakes up.
Not sure if you meant the house door or the fridge door.. We removed the screen door closer because that bracket stuck out too far. We did not remove the house door. I do not think the fridge doors themselves are designed to be easily removed. The one with the ice-maker contains a cable harness so removing that one would be a pain. The installers from Lowe's just opened both doors on the fridge to make it skinnier and then basically came through the door that way. They kind or rotated it around the door jamb like you would do with a big chair. You might want to download the manual and check. They could be removable and we just don't know about it. But we did not remove these ourselves.
@@TheProjectHelpDesk ahhh ok opening the doors on the fridge and Pivoting it in will help since the open 180 degrees out. I'll be sure to take my time and have help. I don't want to ding it any. Thanks for the reply
@Like It Or Not Hey man I got a new whirlpool side by side fridge. There is a water line loop wire tied to the lower fridge ball wall. Is that suppose to loop somewhere or just be there as is?
@@lsxjunkie Are you talking about the plastic line that is looped around inside the fridge? Kind of behind the drawers and the bottom light? If so then that is the cold water "maker". Basically that holds water in the fridge to be chilled before it runs to the water dispenser. Instead of a 'container' they appear to have just used a loop of water line as far as I can tell. If you are talking about something else then I would need more details.
There are a lot of different things that can cause issues. Sadly, it seems that these do have a known issue with the wiring harness at the bottom of the freezer door. Basically the wires break from constant flexing as the door opens and closes. So you may want to start there unfortunately.
Thanks for your response , the cables at the botton are fine. The water source is fine , fortunately I can have cold water to drink, but no water reaches to the ice maker. I don't know how to fix that, I also read that maybe it is good to reset the ice maker but I can't find how to do it. I turned off and on the ice maker for 5 minutes but nothing happened. Please continue Help to me 🙏
That switch behind the ice bin, is the closest thing to a reset switch. It powers down the whole unit. So if you power cycled that for 5 mins then it sounds like you have done the reset. One other thing that I have heard about, is the water line to the ice maker freezing up. Unfortunately, the only way to test that theory would be to thaw everything out. There are really only three main components to the icemaker setup. The control board, the wiring and the ice maker itself. These ice makers, referring to the little unit above the bin, do fail. So that could be your issue also. Just from the things I have seen on the internet, it seems that the ice maker itself is the most likely component to go bad. But there is no guarantee. You might be in a situation where paying a professional to give you the diagnosis is the cheapest and best option. Unless you want to start shot gunning parts at it, which can get expensive. On a side note, sometimes the wiring harness can break the wire but not the insulation. So a wire can look like it is good but be failed internally. About the only troubleshooting I can think of is to verify that you hear the ice arm drop down every so often. I forget how often, but it does an ice level check every hour or so. You can hear the motor turning as it drops the arm down. But even if that part isn't working, we still have three different 'parts' that could be the root cause. Sorry I don't have a better answer.
We just use the recommended temp. Freezer is at 0. Fridge is at 37. We had thermometer on fridge for the first few weeks to make sure it was with temp and then removed it.
Hello! I have the same model. My freezer door sits a little higher than the refrigerator. This causes the seal to not be great on it. I see the bolt to raise or lower the right side but not the left. I was thinking of messing with the leveling feet. Any thoughts?
From what I can see, the leveling feet basically attach directly to the frame and only serve to raise and lower the entire fridge as a unit. So this shouldn't affect the door itself. It is true that only the fridge side has the leveling bolt to raise/lower that one side to match whatever the freezer is set to. Based on another viewers comment, it sounds like the freezer hinge brackets can be adjusted to alter the door camber. (The width of the gap between the doors) I was unable to find this procedure, but if that is true then that may allow the door to be raised or lowered as well. IE play in the hinges. But this is totally a guess. Ours has never had issues and we have never had to mess with it. I did do a closeup video of my hinge brackets for comparison on one of the videos in this series. It may or may not have value. IT might even be this video. But beware, getting these things out of whack could wind up requiring a service call. So definitely do not consider this a how to guide or anything.
SOS!!! I have this refrig. I took the grill off to vacuum & clean. Now I can’t get the grill back on! It doesn’t just slide on then put screws back on. It is impossible for me to get it back on. Please help me. Thanks!
I watched your video on cleaning your refrig & i watched how you put the grill back on & i got it on just fine. You are right, there were no instructions anywhere on how to do this. Wow how your video helped me! Thank you so much!
Which one? The one on the left is a carbon air filter. There are small holes in the Styrofoam and air passes through it. The one on the right is a basic carbon water filter for the ice maker and water dispenser. We got them both from Amazon. We have links in the description.
Can you clarify a little? If you mean the opening that the fridge cabinet sits in, then ours isn't really an opening. We only have a wall on one side. Technically this one is big enough that it covers up the light switch a little. so it was bigger than they intended to go there.
I bought this exact fridge 5 months ago. It's keeps getting ice on the upper door jamb of the freezer side and "snow" on the side wall. I can't figure out why. :(
Kind of sounds like a door seal isn't properly sealing. Assuming you bought it new, I would definitely contact the manufacturer either way. Get it looked at professionally before any warranties might expire. Most appliances have at least a one year.
I was wondering how deep it would be without the doors on it do you think the doors could be completely removed to get it into a house? I live in a small row house in South Philly and my rear door, which is my biggest door is a 32 inch door, it has a security door on it so my narrowest point is about 30 inches, so I would need it to be about 30 inches depth, without the door on it
So the answer to this is a little complicated. To be honest, I think you can make it work. But it will likely be very tight, take a lot of planning and maneuvering and might result in a ding or two. Here is what I can tell you. The big rectangular shell that it is the actual fridge box is 29" on our model. So in theory, taking the doors off gets you down to this. However, the doors are attached to brackets which mount on front of the 29" box. So even with the doors off you have a little extra bit of brackets sticking out. The top ones are much easier to remove. But the bottom ones are a little more involved becasue of the water lines coming into play. Technically these brackets appear to be removable even though they aren't really listed as that in the instruction manual. (If they put it together, then surely it can come apart right??) You also have water lines sticking out the back. And even though they are pretty flush (1/4 inch roughly), the chance of damaging them isn't exactly 0%. So if you feel technically able to take off some extra pieces and have enough proper tools and helpers to gently pull it through then I think it will work. BUT I also think it will be very tight and you could hit a snag that I am not thinking of. Hope that helps.
Assuming I understand, yes the slide drawers do come all of the way out. I believe the frame thats they install in also come all of the way out as well. It makes it very easy to clean out underneath then in only a few seconds.
@@barbhoehne1948 We will upload a quick shorts video tomorrow when we have the time to record it. Basically you pull the drawer all the way out until it catches. Then lift slightly up and keep pulling. Pops right out.
I have one like this when I open the doors it shuts off and when the door closes, it starts again it never shuts off when the doors are close. Is it the same with your refrigerator?
If mine is running, and I open the door, it keeps running. That behavior could be worth having someone check it out. I have never seen that before personally.
I can't tell, but in one of the photos I've seen of this fridge, it looks like the glass shelves don't quite go all the way back/deep. Is this the case? If so, have you noticed any issues with this, like something accidentally falling?
I can't recall from memory. But stay tuned for the info. I don't really recall anything falling. But my memory isn't that great today. I'll have my husband look in a little bit. The wife.
The spacing is about 1 and a quarter inch gap. We've not had anything fall except maybe a small fridge thermometer. All modern side by side fridge should have a gap in the back for air flow. With us there are only 2 so we don't need to fill it like larger families.
The problem I am having right now is the wiring harness coating on the bottom left of the freezer door is breaking up. There is a broken blue wire that I can see right now. I think it goes to the ice auger motor since that has stopped working. Im going to unplug and solder and reinforce the harness there before more wires break and short the entire thing out.Whirlpool really under engineered that harness because of the stresses it under goes from opening and closing. At least its somewhere I can get to it.Hopes this helps someone else.
Yeppers me too. Mine is the yellow ice maker. Looks like it's wired straight through the door. So solder it or make a quick connect cause other will break soon
On our model you just press then . It appears that this setting is not permanent however. It temporarily lowers the the freezer temp for 24 hours so that ice will freeze faster. Then it returns to normal afterwards. From the manual it states: "NOTE: If increased ice production is desired at all times, change the freezer set point to a lower setting. Setting the freezer to a colder temperature may make some foods, such as ice cream, harder."
So far ours has been pretty solid. We have only experienced one major issue so far and that was resolved by a power cycle. After running it on a generator during a power outage, when power was restored later, we got an Error E01 code. This is a generic fault that simply means some sensor detected an anomaly. After a powercycle the error has not returned. We also have some very fine micro-cracks in the curved corners of the clear plastic door shelves. Didn't affect functionality any. They are just visible. Others have mentioned issues in the comments about theirs and we have not removed any of them. So scan the comments in this series and you can see everyone else's issues that they saw.
@@TheProjectHelpDesk thank you so much. I’m planning on buying one for my parents. They’ve had the same fridge since the 90s 😂 still doing research on it but seems like I will end up getting this model.
Basically, this varies by vendor and can change over the years, but each vendor serial number usually includes a date code in the numbering scheme. If you google "decode my serial number" you can find more information. So for ours we have HRX which should be: H = I think Benton Harbor, MI but I might be wrong. R= Uncertain X= Manufactured in 2020 For 2021 = A, 2022 = B and etc. They currently cycle through a pattern.

Appreciated the insights. Your comments put us over the top on buying this fridge. Our only annoyance, as you mentioned, its a little on the louder side when the compressor is running. Not terrible, but more noticeable than expected. Plenty large enough for our family of 4 adults.
Thank you for the review! We didn't realize there's no filter until watching your video.
Thank you for posting this! This is great resource for those of us looking to see whether to buy this!
I just bought it & can't figure out why the bins hard to remove for cleaning Love it thanks for answering
We did a second question and answer as well because we had another question come in about the water filter.
Thanks for watching the review. 😁
Thanks for having the wife there, she keeps it interesting.
That's why I keep her around.
Thanks you two, appreciate this. I am kinda shying away from the ice maker being built into the door, but I just might go with it.
We love it because it really feels like more usable space for us.
Thank you for this! I was just considering to get this for my new home and your review helped me make the decision to get it :)

You're welcome. The only concern we've really had personally with the fridge are mixrocracks in the door shelves, but we would choose it again.

@@YoBravaFrumAnuvaMuva it is automatic. A small plastic arm sits beside the ice cube tray and drops down every so often.
We are hoping to film a video about this over the weekend should the weather cooperate
Stay tuned.
We published a video today. Hope this helps. ua-cam.com/video/rMHwlZ_5Gak/v-deo.html
There is a fast ice option to maker ice more quickly.
Do you have broken wires under bottom hinge of the freezer door? I have seen other video showing that.
@@TheProjectHelpDesk Thanks for answering! Yeah, I understand, I am glad to know yours is working fine.
That is where our problem is, the wired are broken. Extended warranty thru Assurant, will not fix and instead wants to refund purchase price. We still have over a year and half warranty and seems stupid to get rid of when the rest works fine. I just need the wires soldered.
Thanks for the video. My water is not cold? Any suggestions
To be honest, I have never been impressed with the coldness of this. I don't actually use the water dispenser. I keep cold water glass bottles in the fridge.

It hasn't caused us any issues. There was one day it made a strange noise but we unplugged it and replugged it back on. Noise never came back.
That's OK. All opinions are welcome here. :) I agree with the speed of the water dispenser. For me, this has been the one negative.
Measured fill can be calibrated so that X number of ounces will be correct...

You guys are really entertaining :)
Do they sell a butter cabinet for it seems like ot should have. Can I add one?
How much did you pay if you don’t mind me asking?
My icemaker and my water dispenser aren’t on anymore. How do I turn them on again?
@@irmacenteno4688 ours has a switch behind the icemaker bin itself. But I would also look for a broken wire in the wiring harness at the bottom of the freezer door. It is a known complaint about this model.
Hello,
We just got a Whirlpool 21cu side-by-side refrigerator (WRS331SDHM) and aside from being noisy at times, we've had an issue with the fridge side(Right door) door.
I am wondering what would be the problem if the ice maker doesnt make ice after i changed the filter?
@@johnnieflllr first thing I would do is put the old one back. Make sure it still works. Could be a defective filter. Maybe still has some air in the line?
Check the wires under freezer door. Ours were broken and ice maker doesn't work.

Mywirpool - like your- now making ice but dispenser doesn’t work. And each time I need ice I have to open the door and take ice by my self . What can I do?
It is hard to troubleshoot one remotely. That could be a failed control panel or paddle switch. It might be best to get someone to look at it in this case.
what do you do if the ice is out and it doesnt seen to work to make more ice
There can be a lot of reasons. Too many to easily list. There is a TSB where the fridge switch doesn't fully close. There could be broken wires in the wiring harness. The ice maker itself could also just be broken. I would also check the power switch behind the bin. Those are the most likely root causes that I am aware of.
How do you see the present temperature
Unfortunately, you can't as far as we have seen. You can only see the current SET temp. We actually bought an external thermometer with sensors.
Do magnets stick to the fridge?
@@jeffj3213 Yes. We just keep ours on the side out of view. But they do stick. We have a magnetic thermometer on he front now.

I think it takes approx 72 hours to stabilize after initial power on. Until then, yes totally normal.

Thanks, John
@@jhelsel2198 the Styrofoam is supposed to stay in place. It has small holes to allow air flow.
Thanks!
Not that I have really paid attention. I know that the ice maker arm drops down every so often. And becasue it is in the door you can hear that run.
Do you take out the Styrofoam . from the air freshner Box in the Refrigerator ?
Thank you for your review.
Glad it was helpful!
my ice maker is building up ice underneath the ice tray as if water is dripping. also on the ice level arm lots of ice build up! not sure what's going on can you help?

Yes, the Styrofoam piece is in ours also and is part of the fridge. There are three small holes in the foam to let air pass through the filter. Without having hands on, it is difficult to guess. But there is a spinning fan that blows air between the compartments. Possibly something built up on a fan blade causes it to hit something or be off balance maybe? Hard to say unfortunately. Ours hasn't had any issues in that department.

Do you know what the top notches are for on the frig door where the bins go?
This was three years ago. Have you had to fix anything on it yet?

Do you know if an optional Whirlpool egg tray is available or does any other manufacturer have a compatible egg tray?
So there supposedly is an egg try that USED to fit, but based on comments, it sounds like they changed the design in the past and the rounded off piece that sticks out on the left hand side makes it not fit anymore. I will try to find the part number later today. It might work. But I don't think it does anymore.
Hi Sir. We just bought it today but I see 1 roll of water pipe hooked up to back wall located in cold are what's it for? Thank you
If you are talking a roll of tubing inside the frdige, behind the drawers, then that is for the chilled water. That coil of tubing allows the water to cool fairly quickly as it has a lot of surface area.

HI! Great video, very informative. We've been looking into this fridge vs a Samsung one. I am just curious where y'all are from?
We are in North Carolina. Thanks for watching. We chose this one for the type of ice maker. We feel it gives more usable space for us.
What did you pay, and do you still like it?
We still like ours so far. But we have no idea what we paid. We bought ours pre covid and during the memorial day appliance sale and 5% off for using our Lowes card.
My Whirlpool side by side CFS 801/1s stays on holiday mode and doesn't cool. What do I do? Thanks

We are not at home to research but we'll look into this either later today or in the morning and get back to you. However we simply put our butter on one of our shelves. But we will look into this. Great question
@@TheProjectHelpDesk Thank you! I appreciate it
So I will preface this with, we did not buy this part. How do I adjust the water for bigger ice cubes?
To my knowledge, that isn't an option with any adjustments. The in the door model had fairly small cubes. As long as the pressure is good and none of the hoses are kinked, it should produce a cube about two thumbs total in size. But I have never found a setting that relates to any kind of adjustments.
Hi there, how is the fridge working out. I may buy this model today. Thanks
There is a bin that is narrower than the others. Where does it go?
All of ours appeared to be one size. Fridge size was one width and the freezer side was smaller.
I was thinking about attempting to tape mine this weekend. I will reply with my results and findings.
Do you know what to do if the entire control panel (ice and water dispenser panel) is no longer lit up or acknowledges any buttons being pressed?
Honestly, this sounds like a case of a failed component. Likely something in the control panel board itself. BUT without having hands on it, this is just a guess.
Hello , I have the same model fridge and today there’s no water or ice being dispensed. All lights are out except when pressing on either pad for water or ice, the lock light comes on with code 3 on the panel.
I saw your comment on the other video. Glad it helped.
Same.
Where do you put your vegtables?
To be honest I have always had issues with all fridges and veggies drying out. In my opinion, the very way they work, makes for a low humidity environment that sucks moisture out. Just recently I left a pepper wrapped tightly in a bag and it seemed to dry out slower. But the humidity controlled bin didn't really seem to help.
Does this refrigerator run constantly?
When you first plug it in, it may run continuously for a few days. After that it cycles on and off like the others.
Thank you, will check back for more info
We realized we forgot to edit the footage. We still plan on doing that but it took about 90 minutes for a batch of ice to drop. It wasn't full when we woke up but pretty close. We also realized quick ice wasn't on so if quick ice was on it would potentially fill up faster.
Just purchased this from Lowes. Going to pickup in the morning. Any tips on door removal to assist in getting into my home? Thanks for your videos
I love your videos, my whirlpool refry is exactly like yours but from yesterday do not make Ice. could you help?
What temperature do you keep your freezer and refrigerator side
We just use the recommended temp. Freezer is at 0. Fridge is at 37. We had thermometer on fridge for the first few weeks to make sure it was with temp and then removed it.
@@TheProjectHelpDesk thanks for the feed back 👍🏾
I was going to link to that one. Glad it helped.
where you get the lil filter cartridge ? whats the point of it
Which one? The one on the left is a carbon air filter. There are small holes in the Styrofoam and air passes through it. The one on the right is a basic carbon water filter for the ice maker and water dispenser. We got them both from Amazon. We have links in the description.
How wide is your opening for the refrigerator
@@TheProjectHelpDesk Thank you... I did buy it new from Lowes. I will contact them. :)
I was wondering how deep it would be without the doors on it do you think the doors could be completely removed to get it into a house? I live in a small row house in South Philly and my rear door, which is my biggest door is a 32 inch door, it has a security door on it so my narrowest point is about 30 inches, so I would need it to be about 30 inches depth, without the door on it
Give us a moment. He's looking. But it might take a little bit to get back to you.
How can you clean the freezer floor does the slide door come out?
Assuming I understand, yes the slide drawers do come all of the way out. I believe the frame thats they install in also come all of the way out as well. It makes it very easy to clean out underneath then in only a few seconds.
Are there pictures? The book sure doesn’t give any help. Thank you for your response.

@@TheProjectHelpDesk Oh ok, great, good to know. Thanks!
While we haven't had issues with ours, that harness does appear to be a weak link based on other comments people have left. Thanks for sharing.
Yeppers me too. Mine is the yellow ice maker. Looks like it's wired straight through the door. So solder it or make a quick connect cause other will break soon
Did you solder or add quick connect
@@kevinmalinowski7184 I soldered and added shrink wrap them taped it all in cloth type electrical tape to give it some flex. All good so far.
I use my ice machine all day, I feel like it takes forever for ice to come out. How do you turn on quick ice?
On our model you just press then . It appears that this setting is not permanent however. It temporarily lowers the the freezer temp for 24 hours so that ice will freeze faster. Then it returns to normal afterwards. From the manual it states: "NOTE: If increased ice production is desired at all times, change the
freezer set point to a lower setting. Setting the freezer to a colder
temperature may make some foods, such as ice cream, harder."
Update any issues with this fridge?
How can I tell what year a Fridge was made , when I go to buy one in the store
When my husband gets home, I'll have him look at the question after we get our home ready for possible power outage due to Ian.
Basically, this varies by vendor and can change over the years, but each vendor serial number usually includes a date code in the numbering scheme. If you google "decode my serial number" you can find more information.
So for ours we have HRX which should be:
H = I think Benton Harbor, MI but I might be wrong.
R= Uncertain
X= Manufactured in 2020
For 2021 = A, 2022 = B and etc. They currently cycle through a pattern.
