- In this video we go over some of the costs involved with owning a 1LE Camaro SS and we also show some more differences between the 1SS 1LE and the 2SS 1LE! #CamaroSS1LE #1SSvs2SS #Savethemanuals #Racecarfriends #chevrolet
SHHEEEEEEIIIITTTTTT!!!! How much?! When my brakes and rotors are done I'm selling lol. Be careful Charles. Almost burnt his hand on those money pits we call rotors. I feel your pain on the tires Charles. But 3 sets? Yikes. I have received lackluster service from American car companies. For anything aside from an oil change that is. Audi, Toyota and Acura had superb service.
Lol, gotta pay to play! I can’t believe jdm service is so superb I keep hearing this
@@BLUPRINT1LE Acura treated me like a king when I bought my Acura TL with rust
@@QueTheChaotic 😂😂😂 they knew they was selling you shit with a smile lol
@@QueTheChaotic Tell em Que he doesn't know about that import dealership treatment!
@@BLUPRINT1LE Get you one you gonna learn!
I just checked Rock auto you can get the front kit witch is brakes and rotors and the same for the rears both kits for under 400.00
Man I wish you would have commented this about 3 months ago lol I would have kept my Camaro!
These videos are helpful can’t wait to be done with school to buy my dream car
Thanks I'm really happy you found it helpful and I hope you're able to get your dream car ASAP!
@@RaceCarFriends honest opinion tho if you can go back would you get a regular ss or would you still get the 1LE cus i would like a convertible 2SS but the way the 1LE does performance wise and you can get it with a sunroof
@@KnockFire Wow that's a really good question, honestly it would depend on whats available, but if I had to choose right now I'd probably still get the 1LE and swap out the seats for a regular 2SS seats, I wish there was a way to option the car out that way because the 1LE seats aren't that comfortable on a long ride.
Dealerships will always rip you off. Way cheaper to do it yourself. Unless you were tracking it, I also doubt you needed new rotors.
Very true I agree.
What?! 4K for brakes and rotors + labor that’s rape! No way I’m paying that. You better tell people Bluprint will get you together. No way I’m paying that. 1300 + 300 for labor not bad. A good aftermarket product for brakes if your not tracking would be powerstops for pads and rotors and give you less brake dust. That collision warning is scary I experienced that with Q and I don’t like it but this a great video RCF giving people insight on these cars
Thanks brother I been telling all my fellow Camaro guys that they gotta go to Bluprint Academy if they want the right price on parts for these cars lol, and yeah man it's super important to have good brakes on powerful heavy cars like these.
Agreed 💯
Great video brother I love seeing Charles on the channel, we gotta get a race between the both of you at some point 1SS Vs 2SS Automatic Vs Driver Mod Looking forward to more of your content it seems like you're getting better with every video.
Thanks brother I'm trying really means a lot to know you're enjoying the content!
Great video! Yes, I hear the replacement of brakes for many if not all performance cars is quite expensive especially through a Dealership. Question for you: I noticed you have a 6 speed manual. How is the shifting as far smoothness & do you regret not getting the 10 speed automatic? I personally feel the manual keeps you more involved in the ride. Just my opinion
Thanks brother I really appreciate it, to be honest I feel like I would have regretted it if I would have gotten the 10 Speed Auto, the manual is super intuitive on this car and extremely rewarding I love it.
@@RaceCarFriends Great to hear! Appreciate the quick response & you got a new sub from CA
@@joehch Thank you so much, I hope you enjoy our content, feel free to comment and tell me how you feel on any of our videos.
LOL! The cost of maintenance, the fact that performance brakes don’t last as long, and because I never intend to track mine are why I didn’t want the bigger Brembos when I ordered my ‘23. I can’t wait for it to come in.
Wish I would have followed your example, smart choice!
Make sure to get the SS because you will need the rear view mirror onyour car it helps alot and a automatic 10speed. The only thing I wished I got that I never is the exhaust package with 4 pipes at the end. And the carbon side skirts. But this spring I will put on the side skirts from American muscle
@@gilbertahsam643 Yeah the quad exhaust was very important for me.
Yo never go to a dealer, they over charge you for gm parts. I changed my own oil, filters and breaks not that hard just takes a little time. Order your own parts from gm! Yw
Thanks for the advice will definitely consider doing just that.
If something happens to your car with motor or transmission will they cover it? I believe the point of taking it to the dealer is to keep track that you done all your maintenance.
@@turt1231 That's my way of thinking.
front brake rotors: $1265
rear brake rotors: $320
front brake pads: $206
rear brake pads: $96
labor: $0 (this is something you can do yourself in an afternoon)
total: $1887
*all parts were found through a basic google search
True.
You guys in central FL?
if you feel a vibration when u brake you need to replace your front rotars, the front rotars always go first back rotars last a long time now labor whole diff story always better if can do it yourself weather its brake pads or rotars but both should last a long time 🤔
Yup yup and thanks for the advice I really appreciate it.

What are you doing to that thing that it needs brakes AND ROTORS Already!?!? I had almost 13000 miles on my 1LE and zero marks/ grooves on rotors. I did consider changing pads because they are horrible with dusting those nice wheels the 1LE comes with. Two piece rotors are pricey, however, why are they damaged??
Lol He has an extremely heavy foot!
Nice video and good info. Where can I bye the front mats, for the Camaro? Thanks
Thanks I appreciate it, I don't have the actual link anymore, but if you do a search for them on Amazon they'll pop up.
@@RaceCarFriends THANKS AND BLESSINGS BRO.
@@angelcorrea4799 Thanks a lot brother much appreciated.
Will bedding the brakes properly make them last longer? Getting mine in less than a month hopefully based on ETA 🙏
Yup that will help with the longevity with regular driving, but if you're tracking the car it wont make much difference.
Them maintenance costs aint no joke 🥲😂😂
You know we gotta pay to play lol
@@BLUPRINT1LE FACTS 🤣🤣
Lol Facts! Aww man it's going to be even crazier for you because you have the most ULTIMATE Camaro EVER!

That’s why u find someone who’s good you know personally shops always gone tell you some ridiculous #
I agree with you 100% brother.
How the hell is it 4k? I don’t have Brembos but 2 brakes and 2 rotors + labor came out to 800$ for me?
Yup these prices are crazy!
Do you know if the PDR camera can be installed on the 2ss?
I'm not sure to be honest but I believe the PDR is on constraint now so they are extremely hard to get in 2023.
how many years have you been using that car? how many miles? there's no way you need to spend 4 grand already.
Roughly 3 years.
How many miles u got on the camaro already that u need new brakes ?
Just hit 10k miles.
The dealer that gave you the quote should be avoided. You can source front rotors for $400 and up each. I go to Summit Racing for GM OEM pads and rotors. Matter of fact I just received 2 x front rotors (rears are still good) and pads for all four corners for $1.3K... parts only no labor. My local Chevy dealer changes these and performs brake fluid flush for $400 total cost including tax. At this point, I am just over 12K miles and on my 4th set of front rotors and the second set in the rear. I lost count of how many pad changes I've done to date. As for when to change your rotors... when they begin to show tiny cracks you are getting close. If you see cracks that run to the aluminum hat (black centerpiece) it is time to get new front rotors.
Oh wow okay that's not too bad at all, can you send me a link you use for your front brakes and rotors?
That's so weird not sure why I'm not getting your comments, like I see a notification then when I click on it it's like you deleted it.
Whats your IG I'll message you on there.
Smart, I guess just type it out without putting the link and that should go through, so weird it's almost like Google is purposefully banning your comments.
@@RaceCarFriends I did type it out in my last response. It was there for a few mins and then gone. What is odd is I haven't had any issues with my responses in other threads... just this one. Maybe locate another youtube channel and send it to me and I will post it there?
Sorry I'm so late to the party today RCF I had to work late.
It's all good, glad you made it when you did!
Bro that is absolutely insane that they’re charging you $4,000+ for brakes and rotors, oil change I change my own oil doesn’t cost much I do my own brakes doesn’t cost much and I have replaced rotors. I put power stop rotors on my Camaro SS and I have not had one problem. I have put power stop rotors on every car I’ve ever owned and I have never had one problem with them. Yes they are not the most expensive, and they might be the lowest But for me they work I race and drive my car like the way it supposed to be driven and I have never had a single problem and I spent $550 with the brake pads included. And everything I just stated all added up together cost me around $600 for everything maybe a little more yes I did my own work, but even if I took it to a shop, there’s no way in hell I’m leaving there without paying more than $1200 match for everything . GM it’s not the place to go unless you literally had brake pads and rotors and oil changes in the contract that you signed when you bought that car. That is the only way I would take my car there.
Yup I agree with you, I plan on going the powerstop route myself, thanks for sharing the info though much appreciated.
Dang it, I was too busy with all the comments on BP's video.

Bro they are ripping you bro. Just change the pads bro. You need to check around for someone else to do the job. And how many miles dose your car have at this time?
I agree 9,300 miles currently.
lol i just got got my 2022 2ss 1le this hurt my heart i dont drive the car like a animal
Lol you should be fine then but definitely save up for when it's time to get new brakes.
If you don’t track the car go with a “SS” or “2SS”.
I purposely went 2SS because I knew I was not going to track the car. If I did I would rather rent a car and track rather than wear and tear my own vehicle.
Yup I agree.
They are 2 piece rotors; and carbon ceramic would be 10k
They don’t call them stealerships for nothing
