I don't think I've ever seen a game make such a dramatic change with a single patch, let alone 2-3. I'm very impressed and really enjoy the state of the game
...Chaosdivers were never traitors. They just didn't follow direct major orders and focused on doing OTHER missions outside of the Current Major Order. For those who claimed "We are chaosdivers" and proceed to make loyalist diver missions a living heck such as calling stratagems on the LZs, those are NOT Chaos Divers, those are Grief Divers and Trolldivers claiming to be ChaosDivers... While they have their fingers crossed behind their capes.
Remember that us Chaosdivers want the bots and bugs dead just as much as any loyalist wants them dead. While you guys work on your major orders, we’ll do our part to fill in the gaps on the other planets. We’ll make sure any loyalist fighting along side us makes it back in one piece. We are not the enemy.
It was intense defending from the jet brigade but I’ve seen a lot of players sporting malevolon creek capes and seeing 40k players on the not front was truly epic.
Only cape I wear. I was there for Malevolon I took a hiatus from the game when the nerfs hit, but it feels good to be back. Tried some other games (mostly Destiny 2) but nothing quite scratches that itch quite like Helldivers It's good to be back

Man... this is beutiful, enough to make grown man cry! It would be a crime not to subscribe... So much work poured into that animation, i salute to You! Well done iO
I was one of the 7k Helldivers left during the darkest of time, where there were more botdivers than bugdivers. During that time, fighting against the bots were easier than the bugs due to them having more weakspots and we have more viable weapons against them bots. The bots front now is even better with more buffed weapons and nerfed enemy units, sweet liberty.
honestly, above all else, it feels like what it was is that the balancing made us feel like expendable soldiers, like SEAF personnel, like starship troopers. i thinkw e realised we dont want to play starship troopers, we want to play helldivers. taking the role of halo spartans, titanfall pilots. not ground troops with peashooters in a way, maybe we could see this as super earth being humbled by its army, by realising that they cannot afford to pull funding away from RnD and maintenence of our power, and to fund subterfuge efforts agains tthe enemies too. they have to accept that we are really as important as they like to say we are. i disavow the comparison to starship troopers now, for this reason. we are glass cannons, and while we dive into hell, should still be bringing our own form of hell to our enemies.
We're still very much a normal trooper just like in Starship Trooper tho, just dress fancier and can call in off-map support individually. We still don't have built-in shield gen or hard-parkour protocol like those fancy foot and still have to specify the clearance to call them down the field. When the effective timer expired, we're robbed off all those that make us feel special or 'super', now just a man with what he had, that or what you can found on-site. I think it'd be more accurate that the fund supposedly fuel the armory been corrupted by greedy higher up. The moral in decline make divers either lose the spirit to go out and fight, or outright make them gone insane and turn coat. Now that the corrupted governor is apprehended and the fund back on track, the divers's weaponry is back to its former glory, the moral is high, feeling that their tools can do something rather than squirting dust, and ever ready to dispense freedom once again, for ever more.
I don't think I belong in an intellectual conversation such as this but all I know is that I can spread democracy better and smile to myself knowing I truly am democracies finest.
Helldivers was originally conceived as an arcade-y experience where the players and enemies are glass cannons. Dive into hell and bring hell kind of thing. So yes, it’s world and satirical theme are inspired off starship troopers and other sci fi, but gameplay wise, it was always intended to be its own thing. Even the second game’s shift from the serious-with-occasional-satirical-humor tone of the first game to a cinematic one can be understood as a necessity of the shift from 2d gameplay to 3d gameplay. So I wouldn’t say that the developers reimagined the fantasy of helldivers to be more like titan fall or other sci fi, but rather to be more like their original vision. Personally, as a HD1 vet, I think arrowhead lost their way for a while with the live service model. HD1 and all of their other games handled dlc more traditionally, so I think it’s likely they didn’t know how to handle live service monetization (let alone for such a popular game) and as result succumbed to greedy pressures by making the game harder to elongate playtime for a game that was built around an arcade like experience. But with community pressure, they’ve found their way back to their roots, and now the game feels more like HD1 than ever before
I love how all helldivers speak 'Freedom' as a language. It just goes to show how much they all value it. Taking ot away will have very dire results. Also loved the details of Discord and reddid as building buing rebuilt!
We are so back indeed. Thank you for including us Chaosdivers. Helldivers were never our enemy, we always hoped to fight with our brothers on the frontlines shoulder-to-shoulder. We're happy that we all recieved incredible weaponry to fight the horrors of the cosmos. Together. Vera Libertas brothers!
I say this as a proud chaosdiver, it felt weird, in a good way, to realize we had nothing to fight for. Not even a “we won”, but more, “we are so back”
It's honestly nice that it's fun again. Before, our team was bitter and frustrated, nobody wanted to fight anymore. Some of us returned to HD1 and others never came back. But now more and more of us are logging back on, having fun, trying new builds, and bringing democracy to the damned bugs and bots. It's good to be back
Hey Brotha, thanks for the vid. I've been serving proudly since launch, suffering through the sony stuff, the nerfs, content drought. But watching this vid made me tear up a bit at the end because i know that you like me appreciate what this game does for us and the sense of community it has created. I appreciate your work, next warbond is on me. 07
High Command and Brasch finally listened ✊ If Arrowhead ever does big in-game event cutscenes or something, stuff like receiving back-up in the style of 0:53 would be gloriously democratic. As we can see from Martechi's shorts, there's an insane amount of untapped potential in fleet stuff.
We all dive with some sort of purpose. Never forget why you fight. Whether it be to sate your bloodlust for the enemies of freedom, or your more like me, someone who is willing to lay down their life to ensure their compatriots get back alive. Forgetting your reason for fighting leads to cracks in the bond we all share as brothers and sisters in arms.
The game is fun again and man oh man the next warbond looks worth the credits too. AH has to stay the course. They had 100k troops yesterday and I intend to keep going myself.
I’m so happy we got our defense budget back, now we can distribute democracy the way lady liberty intended 💪 If they cut that budget again tho im joining the automatons
My first deployment was day 17, I was a foolhardy cadet who was constantly blowing himself up for democracy. I lost so many brothers in arms in this war, have seen us triumph, and crawl away from defeat. Now at level 63 I am filled with pride to guild the next generation of Helldivers on the DSS and turn them truly into Democracy's finest. On a personal note, you got any war stories from the past you would like to share?
Only play on Super Helldive, and it just feels so right. At times when the randoms work as a team we survive with lives to spare. When each goes out on their own we spend all lives and extraction becomes cinematic. And at times we’ll complete objectives and never make it out. I’m ok with that.
This feels like a concept animation so hopefully arrowhead or somebody recreates this animation with a higher budget, would be really cool to see, imagine this with the fidelity from the intro cutscene from the game
Im glad ro be back time to finish what was started bots to scrap, bugs to kill, and a constant watch for those in the shadows may we fight and rise once more
