Love how bro hears that he's been in deep freeze long enough that everyone he knew is dead and also his homeworld is gone and his response is just "Huh... That's unfortunate"
Come now he had nothing to lose to begin with lol
Those meds do wonders for your mental health AS WELL as physical.
That's how I felt...learning that they're FUCKING BACK
He was totally was withholding a FLOOD of tears. And then he forgot about it (due to massive brain damage).
@@givingshitsincetwentyeleven 100 years in a cryopod will do that to ya. Just look at the guy from Fallout 4. Went from, "My son has been stolen," to, "time to turn my old neighborhood into a water purification plant, become the raider boss of nukaworld, take over the commonwealth, and do a compete 180 the moment he runs into a Revolutionary War larper." Oh, and don't worry about his son. The moment he finally meets his son again, he reverts back into a murder goblin, suplexes his own son until he explodes, and slaughters everyone specifically wearing a lab coat.
This guy is a hundred year old 1st galactic war veteran. How the fuck are we just glazing over this?
@JohnSmith-tt2tu That's just the Helldiver training. There's also SEAF service to be considered, preteen ROTC style, and the fact all citizens are basically trained from the young age by family with fake guns and schools drlls. They are only given specialized raining to be helldivers I'd say. That's definitely enough because we are the best!
The tower defense mission is thought to be rescuing Helldivers still in cryo from the first war. So it’s not an impossibility.
@@Shadow3397 Man I would LOVE a mission like that!
@@MusketMan1997then try it, this mission type already exists 😂
@Shadow3397 To be honest, I thought the Democracy Officers were thawed out First War HD's, this theory is so much better.
I love how this raises questions of the presence of any unfrozen divers in old cryopods from fhe first galactic war, wearing the first generation standard armor
That's what was in the defense wall mission rockets when the mission first came out. Phase 1 Helldivers.
Also, all Divers on the ship you control are outfitted with the gear YOU chose in the Armory. So even if they are Old Divers, they still would come standard with the gear you choose to wear.
Well this is cannon as we extract the first ever helldivers from planets that are being attacked
I would love it if there was an armour set from the first game.
There is, it's the gas mask armor from the demolition warbond @@twobrosincorporated
“What planet?”
“Meridia.”
Oh. Oh dear.
Gone but not forgotten
hahahahaha
He just like me fr
Love how the bugs just waited for them to finish
"Hey John shall we attack them or what?"
"Nah man, this shit is fire, let them cook further!"
If the script was not so specific in some things he could have done a funny thing where while its the Helldivers being in the video, its revealed that its the bugs talking about them and not the other way around!
Missed opportunity dang it 😂
honestly, not even entirely inaccurate, i've seen bugs just chill and watch divers do stuff on the terminals but they get aggressive as soon as it's done
@@gravitationalredshift Sometimes, but thats because their AI and pathfinding can get fugged, most notable example of this is the Chargers, sometimes they stay still because the pathfinding farts itself
@@_MatthewLance just make an animation with the terminids' perspective lol XD
I found some roleplay players few days ago. Fine people. One said he was from Meridia (just like in the video), the other said he’s from Aesir Path (bro was talking about his family being viking like people and that he had all these tattos), the third said he was from Rogue 5, and helped take the planet back against the Illuminate.
While i was born in Cyberstan at the beggining of the 1º galactic war. I had to flee the planet around 5 years old when the Cyborgs came. I’ve been on cryosleep ever since. Now my Helldiver is awake and ready to reclaim his homeworld.
I hope one day we'll get to liberate your home together on some cool city map or something. I heard from a friend that there was one in Helldivers 1
Amazing
That's why it's safer to date a fellow helldiver
Didn't the guy say his Stratagem Ball was slippery in the cold when talking about his fifth wife? Unless a joke went over my head, I think a bit of friendly-fire happened!
@@xendordawnburst9969 ..that's also what happened to wives 1 through 4!
The animation quality is nuts, a helldivers movie would go so hard
Thank you! If I only had the time lol
>”What planet?”
>”Meridia.”
Damn…
I say they do what every Helldiver does in this situation. Dive backwards and start opening up with their liberators
so fun fact, Helldivers must go through SEAF training protocol first, meaning that they do get more training than 5 min.
Combine that with the fact that super earth is a extremely militaristic and gun-free society (they literally use the breaker shotgun as a hunting and home defence weapon) an other example we can get from the engineer on the ship is apparently even when you're a small child there's quite a common celebration involving firing a firearm three times in the air and saying "no fascism here insects" and then they reenact historical battles namely something called liberty peak before having cake, this is all done presumably during childhood then combine that with the fact that everyone is GIVEN a constitution rifle on their 16th birthday not like the American second amendment where they are allowed the RIGHT to bear arms the gun is actually GIVEN to them they don't even make a purchase or a choice meaning that every super Earth citizen possibly in their childhood and definitely years before even joining the SEAF let alone the helldivers are given firearm training, then there's a 72 hour training segment for the drafted SEAF troopers and then the ones that are the most skilled and patriotic then become helldivers, are given a 5-minute training course to specifically use the helldiver equipment the strategam beacons the stims they don't actually teach you how to use a firearm they just give you one and give you a refresher by sending out live captive enemy forces you've already been trained for years how to use a firearm and while the helldiver standard lifespan in the battlefield is 2 minutes they are far from incompetent soldiers, the average one being able to take out 50 to 100 to 200 enemies by themselves honestly I don't know where people got this idea that helldivers aren't fucking terrifying soldiers because THEY ARE they drop down behind enemy lines blow up all the logistics destroy concentrated enemy forces activate dormant ICBMs and all kinds of other shit with a average maximum of 20 soldiers only using 4 at a time and they complete their objectives and get out in 40 minutes or less
@@therandomcommenter6629added on to that is the fact that the helldivers will often simply power through broken arms and legs while still very willing to keep fighting, are capable of taking far too many bullets to the chest and willingly give up their entire lives to serve democracy as they are frozen until they deploy and die. The only thing they can’t do is swim but I’ve yet to see a fully loaded modern soldier carrying a heavy weapon swim so we’ll call that one even.
@@therandomcommenter6629 Precisely. Helldivers may be expendable but they are the Elite, you don't give lower quality forces enoigh resources to rival the cost of a Spaceship
@@therandomcommenter6629 Helldivers are INCREDIBLY athletic as well. No one who only just went through a 5 minute tutorial could run sprint, jump, duck and dive for damn near an hour straight whilst lugging around a 20mm autocannon, 60 spare magazines, a fullsized automatic shotgun, handgun, grenades, stims, literally infinite Stratagem Balls... ALL while wearing armor and a full-faced helmet! That's possibly hundreds of pounds of gear! General Brasch wasn't lying. Our Divers do have peak human (possibly transhuman) level physiques.
Plot twist: they just wanted more ideas for BugBucks
Giving me red vs blue vibes in the best way possible
So, just an idea, but I'd love to see a whole comedy series on this squad. You have the chill young guy, the dude who doesn't quite get that he's been on ice since the first war and keeps making HD1 references, maybe throw in a grizzled gung ho type who is always telling the others to get off their ass and charge face first, and top it off with the dude who is constantly shitting his pants and has only survived because he is "stealthy" (A.K.A. A coward)
The 4th could be the Red shirt, dies every time, and a new diver comes to join the squad.
@@adamf880 they killed Kenny!
Kinda like red vs blue
@@robertprice965 Yeah but does Church ever really technically die?
Caiphus Caine, bravely charging in the opposite direction of the enemy
I love the interactions between these guys! Keep it up!
Thanks! Will do!
That’s a really pretty animation there. Also the “Huh… that’s unfortunate…” after he learns that he’s now in the SECOND galactic war would be a very concerning reaction to have. I’d say get someone to make sure he’s alright for the foreseeable future.
ehh, load him up on stims and send him down to the worst bot meatgrinder, he won't be a problem anymore after that
Really loved this! Keep going!!
Thank you! Love your stuff!
In reality... You are frozen one time only... after training... a couple of helldivers are assigned to each ship.. and replenish every time needed.
Once you were unfrozed.. you will remain free until you die or retire after full military service.
With free returns to civilian life until called ( player logs in)
That's why there is a democracy officer per ship.. plus some heroes of the federation like General Brash.
Those who survive long enough to become hier are there because they have enough intelligence and experience gathered to risk losing.
The frozen technology comes in part to preserve generations of reserves until deployment is required.
That's how you have an army of millions every year.
In order for individual experience to not be lost with the changing time... you will not be frozen again... (since the game actualized the login screen)
Experience remains with the defrost ones.. while the frozen remain fresh for the new deal... with no "time shock" as they are..some how ... Ready to Dive
love how you added trigger discipline. beautiful touch
Man the bugs so nice for waiting to maul them till they finished their conversation
keep up the great work dude, FOR DEMOCRACY!!!
Thank you!
Honestly your animation has improved a lot over a short time. The movement in here looks pretty close to just, normal, natural movement. It's really good, man. Good job.
Thank you! Some of it was cleaned mocap, like the walking. Lots of the head movements and shoulder movements were hand keyed. It just took me sooo much practice to get where I am right now. The next short, which I am actually animating right now, already looks better.
@@_MatthewLance Hey man, the practice paid off. It's clean. Keep going 😄
I love this, this is, basically how our bois in green act with each other
Sick man! All you need is a filter over the voices that make it sound like they're talking over the radio or through the helmet.
The bugs were like “no keep talking you guys are interesting”
0:49
My favourite part is the pause the younger helldiver takes to process the information, right before dropping a tactical nuke on the other guy's worldview.
i’m impressed by anyone who can make these animations
Lol the ending was perfect. I mean come on they had a whole conversation only few feet away lol.
I would like to imagine the bugs noticed them when the second guy came behind the rock
The bugs were probably having a similar chat out there. Would’ve torn the divers to shreds otherwise.
Ah yes, Bile Late the best Bugbucs berverage
That moment when two bugs found them you should added "so.... Gun blazing?"
"Yeah?" 😂
That one Helldivers 2 pro friend and the original Helldivers pro friend talking to eachother.
I actually want more of these!! Easily 10 out of 10!
This is absolutely fantastic. More... MOOOOOOREEEE
also-don't feel the need to rush your projects like the last one. maybe do like 15-20 second shorts in between to keep the algorithm going, but take your time for such ambitious demeanors, because damn, that was hot as well.
The eerie feeling in the first seconds alone, blood dripping from a devastators saw... great stuff man.

This has the same vibes as Red vs Blue but in Helldivers
Animation quality is really good!
Wow this is severely underrated!
Thank you!
"Heard ya talking about Bugbucks. We were heading there and wanted to know if you wanna come along." - the bugs, probably.
Also, don't let their competitor Starbugs find out! 😂
The animation is really great
This is movie level quality
This is really funny, and the animation is spot on but I think the Helldivers should have a distortion on their voices like they are talking over a radio, since they are.
That look after the other guy admits to blowing up his 5th wife with a butterfinger strategem
I like the lighting on there visors looks awesome
looking at these comments it's nice to see I'm not alone in roleplaying that I am a HD1 soldier who is still serving in the present war. It's why I loved that they have that SC-37 LEGIONNAIRE armor to show the old age stuff too.
The armor just looks RIGHT. I love seeing it while playing
Man I am super impressed with your work
“I guess I just miss my mom you know?”
“What planet?”
“Meridia”
I knew what was coming next, did not expect to see him take the news so well
This was mad with lots of Freedom. Amazing work 🎉
Phenomenal comedy 😂
Really well made 10/10
Great job that u used default armor, love u ma boi
Those are Brood Commanders. The Divers carrying are carrying Liberators. Liberators do not have good armor penetration. 🫡 Godspeed Divers
As a veteran of the Meridia conflict, sorry about that. Orders are orders
You ever wonder why we're here vibe
this video reminded my friend rushed to me for open the two-button door, but he fell and got stuck in the gap between a rock wall and a forklift, and then in the gap between a box there it was and a forklift, unable to get out. (after that, I was shoot and destroy the box with shotgun, he saving unharm. it was truely democratic moment.)
I just love this animation! Huge respect for the small details, like the dirt on the armor of the Helldivers. Bile latte, haha.
I'd love to do the audio mixing for you guys, make it a bit more immersive, directional... Animation is fantastic, love the script too.
Always start the day with a cup of Liber-tea 🍵
The only thing missing is "in helmet" audio effect, other than that, great work!
It is not lost on me just how short that period of combat music was playing.
I need more animations.
Funnily enough when I started playing I decided my first character was born on Meridia, and was driven off their farm by the bugs breaking free.
I had no idea what would happen next. RIP Mum & Dad, I would say I gave you a nice burial but there was nothing left to bury.
Dude, this is crisp looks for those Helldivers.
Love how they kinda refrence warhammer being the last remaining survivor of Arcadia b4 it’s destruction imean that was kind of my take on it
Nice video man
0:38 Oh…. He…. He doesn’t know…..
This is awesome
Thank you!
Helldivers: i want to see my family
Xbox:i want to fight but stuck with family
The turns tables have table turned
Nobody mentions that there are permanent frost marks on his body to indicate just how long he was frozen for.
Destroyer is leaving orbit 😂
The end 😭
This was great! Love what you've done with it. Show us more!
Thank you!
this some smooth animation. cinda wish there was a HD2 movie
I feel like his understated reaction to finding out about his homeworld is justified in-universe by him being indoctrinated to blindly follow Super Earth. Like all other citizens and Helldivers. He just mentally wrote it off as "Super Earth must've had good reason for Meridia" and that his family thought the same.
fuck.. when i saw the two brood commanders.... i mean dive backwards and full auto the legs.....
This is rad - I want this game to come to XBOX so bad. Maybe next time put some filters on the voices to make them sound like they're both in-world, and coming from helmets - it's really easy to do. Rad stuff, dude.
You ever wonder what we’re doing here
Youve earned a sub
Y’all, he’s COVERED in dust. I think that’s not from the planet it’s from sitting in the back of the super destroyer for like a century
Ps they coulve been waiting for the equipment stratagem drop
I can already hear them saying “oh… son of a bitch..”
FOR MERIDIA
So if he’s a first galactic war veteran how should we tell him about the illuminate
dont know why my comments being deleted but this is great man the lighting is good and the mocap looks great keep up the good work
That's probably a Ministry of Truth intern that keeps messing with your comments😂

A bile laté? Nah i dig some libertea
Are you able to share what programs you used to create this? Awesome video!
Cyborg? He is from Helldivers 1
This is the way!!!☄️☄️☄️☄️
What engine do you use?! This is amazing quality!!!
Blender! Thank you!
❤
They do be bros
They would have had 3 or 4 patrols spawn on them in the time it took to have that conversation
Wow this looks VERY realistic, did you use mocap for the divers?
I used rokoko video for half of it and got access to a suit to get the rest. Most of it had to be re-keyed after grabbing the mocap data though.
Thank you!
Of course you don't have that many efforts to animating this, they;re wearing a helmet.
This is great, but the audio took me out of the scene. Needs to have like a radio transmission effect over the voices. Outside of that, I love the animation, and the conversation dialogue.
Thank you! Yeah I’ve been picking up on that. It’s definitely a mistake I won’t make again. Audio mixing is a rather fun thing now that I’m getting used to it
