"Kosei ya Jiyuu de Hamidashiteiku". ("With individuality and freedom, I'm gonna stick out".) Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders (New School Leaders) began in 2015. They've been known internationally as "ATARASHII GAKKO!" (New School) since they signed with 88rising in early 2021. That's when I first started hearing about them. The single for 'NAINAINAI' was their worldwide debut. They are Suzuka, Kanon, Rin and Mizyu. Many of their older songs have a Jazz fusion feel, especially the tracks created with H ZETTRIO. There's been more of a Hip-Hop influence on some of the more recent songs. The EP, 'SNACKTIME' was produced by Money Mark, best known for his work with The Beastie Boys. You should definitely check out 'Pineapple Kryptonite', one of the singles from that EP. Although Suzuka is the main (lead) singer, they do have songs featuring the other members singing lead.
This new album, they spent a couple of months in LA working with Money Mark. He worked with the Beastie Boys. And they're definitely fans of the Beasties, as you can see the stylistic references to Intergalactic in this video.
