When I left school in 1979 the RAF were just receiving them in to Service, to me they were the best Aircraft the RAF have ever had especially the Tornado GR1/GR4, sadly now most have been scrapped (with the exception of museum & BDRT frames) I also saw the last 3 GR4's on the last day off there flying days, Awsum take off power & still today a superb aircraft which really still should be flying over the UK skies.
I once saw a six ship 5 sqn F3 take off early one morning at Coningsby about 1991. Took off in pairs, the noise! Then came the peace dividend that hit defence spending as the USSR had collapsed. Goodbye Harrier, Jaguar, Phantom, Nimrod, even ASR helicopter service. Nothing in reserve as airframes are stripped for spares so our serviceable fleet gets smaller and smaller. Trained pilots are "moved on" because they aren't of the right ethnic or gender mix. Watch out Red Arrows and BBMF. Never mind, the present Government don't seem to want to protect our way of life or borders anyway so let's welcome the new Britain.
ALl those "unrestricteb climb" "performance launch" "vertical take-off" "fast take-off" (=for saying short take-off) etc. are just plain sick verbiage.
I so loved that aircraft having been the project manager for the Flight Simulators at Rediffusion Flight Simulation and having met and worked with a number of its crews, so sad to see the government and the civil service Blobs get rid of them

LOVE this lady, the modern Mosquito. LONG LIVE THE RAF ! From a yank !
What a handsome brute - and what a VOICE! (3:47 - It's nice that the crew gave you such a genuine and generous wave, too.😁)

I miss seeing the old tonkas
What a sound!
Very cool. Wish one would fly over my house like the shuttle did before it hit the museum. Nice!😎
PHENOMINAL Aircraft!!! 🤘💪
Just love those planes…
Pretty cool👍
question, where did all the RAF Tonkas go, were they just scrapped or sold off for peanuts?
Tornados a beautiful plane
💪🏽💪🏽
Actual takeoff is at 6:00
You're welcome
Looked like a standard Tonker departure to me ...
Tonka is still a viable a\c today...criminal getting rid of this fast jet...best in world a what it does.
Great shot and looks like Rwy 25.
Got a wave from both!
Are you an Air Marshal? 😁
Well done! 👍🏻
Definitely not an air marshal I'm afraid.
I wish the Red Arrows could do an aerobatic display on this beautiful jet the Tornado
I think most would but unfortunately they will be out of service by next year now the F-35's are starting to arrive.
@@DarrenBartonaviationvid me
fuck me he takes his time doesn't he?
Seek and Distroy. 41SQ
i wonder how much fuel was wasted just sitting on the ground waiting for take off, how many gallons burned ant informed person tell me
Six minutes of waiting and then a regular take-off. Thumbs down.
Thats six minutes of freedom mister!

Flaps down = normal take off.
Tornado meaning act of god......................
That not a performance takeoff
Abo fares why is it a very bad aircraft?
I wish people would learn how to hold the camera straight

You're right, ZG777 is a very bad aircraft, but I've straightened her up now and she's good to go.
He missed a word.. ‘bad ASS aircraft’
Ah well, everyones entitled to their opinion, even it's wrong.
Typical Tornado.... All show and...shit engines.
Typical muppet all crap and... no fact
??? Even it’s pilots are on record saying the engines were unreliable. In some cases they were the cause of the accidents!
muppetrowlf well the RAF never cried about that aircraft so it must have been down to the maintenance engineers of the certain airforces that did
