That f16 knife edge was clean👏🏻 funnily enough at the end of the sunday show when I was over at the display teams tent, a photographer was telling the pilot that last year on departure he was very high. At first the pilot looked a little confused and almost insulted by what the guy was say, but then with better explanation through the accents and it was understood that the guy wanted him to stay low the full length before pulling up. I must say he done him one better that was soo clean and snappy👏🏻🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing that. He certainly made up for it this year! That knife edge was properly 90 degrees and perfectly executed 😎He definitely wasn't too high either 💪😎

@@dtrain1634 Too right. Although I’m pretty sure Poland won’t worry too much about that, seeing as they’ve been operating F-16s for years and will be getting F-35s soon too. Poland have been very vocal in their scorn for Putin’s regime, I wouldn’t be surprised if the 22s don’t go to Ukraine in the no too distant future

The last U2 is amazing
It was such a treat to catch the U-2 from inside the base. That's not a view you get that often! 😳
Just incredibly awesome videos! Really superbly done. If I had just one wish I'd spend it on someone somewhere having saved an F-111 of any model and to see it fly or even just taxi once again. Worked on them as an avionics technician for 27 years and miss them terribly. I was at Upper Heyford in the 70s, Lakenheath in the 80s and all the other bases she was at at some point in my career. Life goes on...
Ahhh, you're a man after my own heart Vinssen. I grew up about 45 mins drive from UH, spent many many days there with my brother as a kid watching the E models. We started venturing further in the late 80s early 90s to LN to catch the 111Fs there. I grew up with the sound of TF30s ringing in my ears. F-35s are now based at LN but the F-111 had so much more character and looks WAY better! Miss that jet! Thanks for dropping by 👍

The F-18 is more my kind of Thing, Grimy and Tough for Naval ops. Performance is "meh" but i like her.

Cheers Paul. Really kind of you to say so. It does get so busy on departures day. They usually start around 9am and the base is pretty much empty by 2-3pm. Between about 11 and 2 it’s difficult to know where to point the camera 😂 glad you enjoyed it in any case 🤘🤘👍

Any clue why the F-4 had to turn around?
Thanks a lot. They did have radio transmission issues earlier whilst talking to the tower at Fairford, so I wonder if that might have been a cause? Maybe French air traffic control couldn't hear them properly?
F4 seemed to have a fuel leak in the left hand wing
@@Aviren_BR They always do this bud. I was on base at Andravida last year and they all do it on takeoff. I believe the tanks seal after they take off. Might be wrong on that though

They leak fuel like a beotch on take off. The fuel dumper is just there 👍

The B and D models are two seaters. Not sure how many were built but there are not many in service 👍

The Strike Eagle is an absolute legend. The Malaysian Air Force has some cool kit too though. I'm hoping to come to the LIMA air show some time! 👍

No. The RAF one just did a single fly past and hover. Not a proper display. And no USAF F-35 either!? 🧐

I’m pretty sure the US display pilot was booked elsewhere. The RAF haven’t got a display together for the F-35 yet. I suspect there is a good reason for that?
I was disappointed to wait almost 20 minutes into the video before seeing an F-15. Perhaps it’s a tough act to follow.
Only two F-15s at the show this year. On saying that Lakenheath sent four jets this year which I thought was pretty awesome of them! I agree though, we need more F-15s!
Here's a question, Do these fighters get escorts from the country's they fly over flying back to their home countries ?
Not normally. When the Russians came over a few years ago they had RAF escort jets, I think just to help the navigate our airspace

5pm pretty much on the nose 👍
Did the U2 eventually drop the outrigger gear?
The U-2 landed just before they organisers closed the airfield. The outriggers were put back on before it taxied back to its hangar 👍

I know right! I heard someone say that in previous years the tower has told them not to showboat on their way out. Not sure how true that is?

@@UKAviationMovies it's true, it's riat that has become to tight on they're regulations. No flares, no pirotechnics, no wave goodbye. The last Belgian demo pilot did it anyway and after coming home an hour later the base allready got a mad phonecall from riat. A few years ago the french demo pilot did also, the year after not a single french aircraft at the show... And someone needs to explain those pilots that the FIRST tribune is the one to wave, not the second one...

Russian MIGs easily destroyed PHANTOMS in Vietnam!
Phantoms had a kill ratio of 2.5 to 1 in Vietnam. In other words Phantoms were two and a half times more successful at shooting down MiGs. Good luck against Typhoon, Rafale, F-22, F-15, F-16, F-35 etc etc. That's without discussing the capabilities of new machines like NGAD. Russia are MILES, literally MILES behind the west. They can't even make progress against Ukraine, let alone the technologies of the west.
