Theres was nobody else and still no one else that was this passionate about their videos as Bill. He always told it like it is man. Love every video he put out and all the things he did for the PSD community! Miss ya big guy!
The reference to the video you did on the three F’s takes me back to the old days when it was just solo Bill and 7.3’s. Those early videos are priceless and gave me a helluva diesel foundation.
Got a early 99 and I can feel it when he was saying fuel pressure with the long stare. I will get that fixed next week as mine has all the tell tale signs he mentioned. Even the transmission issues that have me worried mine is going out. Thanks Bill these are gold bud
Tell them like it is Bill. I had my 2006 f250 Amarillo done by this guy last year. From Hobart Indiana. Stayed at Margaritaville while truck got worked on. In Yuma Arizona now. 🤣🤣 excellent work. This guy knows his business.
I can attest that Archoil made a believer out of me! My 7.3 had a sticky injector so I used the ar9100 and 6200 and within 5 minutes the engine smoothed right out. Stuff works mericles. Thanks Bill! If it weren't for you I would have never heard of the stuff.
Smartest decision we ever made was get rid of our 6.0 diesels. Our repair bills are 1/10th of what they used to be. We used to put 800k km on our old 7.3s with next to no repair bills and the babied 6.0s are absolutely finished at 400k km and 20k in repair bills. EPA has really ruined diesels to the point its not cost efficient enough to run them anymore unless you're pulling really heavy loads and got deep pockets.
@@johnlewis6642 No emission checks here, don't live in the states, all our stuff is deleted. It's not only the emissions that's the problem, It's also the fuel system, very expensive to work on when someone puts in dirty fuel. A few years ago it cost 14k to replace the entire fuel system on a 6.7 after someone put in very badly contaminated fuel.
Outstanding video, truly a must watch for any Powerstroke owner! I have a 1999 F350 dually with the late 99 7.3 with 190K miles as my daily driver. I’m getting ready to drop the tank and throw those two little screens away and clean the tank. The only issue I’ve ever had was the injector harness came lose under the driver side valve cover….easy fix and my cam sensor died, so now I keep a spare. Thank you Bill for sharing your knowledge and expertise!
Thank you so much Bill! I have been watching your videos for years and I have learned and invaluable amount of knowledge! You are an absolute blessing to the DIY diesel community and powerstroke owners as a whole!
The way I see it, you’re going way over the top with your generosity towards helping people. It’s great that you’re doing this. Just remember, no matter how good your intentions are, you can only do so much. Thank you for all that you do.
So what. Thats who he was because he was passionate about it and took pride in is work. As he's stated in one of his videos, "Pride, an endangered species."
Don't own a powerstroke anymore (owned 2 fabulous 7.3's) but still watched the entire video. Been following you for a decade. Thanks for the knowledge and the infotainment. Makes me want another big 7.3 again. Loved them. Thanks.
I currently don't have a diesel but I enjoy listening to Bill and he is one of my favorite guys on the internet! Why? Because he gives you straight shooter advise when it comes to the business of doing repairs to these trucks. He and his courteous staff will tell you the best way to go with your truck which in the long run will save you a ton of money in the long run!
Love your videos, especially the fuel pressure segment, i was laughing with you. Thanks for keeping content current, your old videos are educational and happy to see some new content.
Thank you for your efforts to help 🙏. My 2002 Econoline 7.3 has forced my hand into paranoia at every little sound or symptoms. My plan was to learn/fix what you've built a lifetime understanding. I understood everything but some of the 6.0 stuff.
Talk about information overload in a good way! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge about these good old trucks. I was thinking my 7.3 might be in need of some serious work but maybe just an oil and fuel filter change...
This was the best video for me and my 7.3 that I have ever seen. You just explained to me what I was trying to put into words to ask the questions to fix my 02 .Thank you MR Bill
Now I have the motivation to go back and finish getting my 6.0 split year truck restored. Thanks again bill for the videos and always trying to share good information and running a honest shop. If I had the thousands to spare, I'd send my truck in to you.
I've owned my 2000 F-250 7.3 for 22 years and the only issues have been a Hi-pressure oil leak! Used Ford parts to replace the fittings... but at a 184K I do need to drop the tank and clean the two screens, the part that sucks is the full 128 gal tank in the bed that keeps the factory tank full. She's a Lariet and still in very sweet condition 😎
Outstanding, understood. Being instrument/Electrician in old chemical plant, experience is worth millions but unfortunately is taken for granted. Thank you Bill for taking the time and effort to explain the complexities of whats out there in vehicles just in the systems you explained. When I fly I'm always listening, feeling whats going on mechanically (I hate flying). Figure if 99% of stuff is working there's that 1% that may or may not. At 360000 feet its a little unnerving. Thanks again!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I don't even have a truck, but liked the info. It made me feel young again since I have not been yelled at that much since being an apprentice in the 80's. 😂😂 I always like diagnosing stuff over the phone too.
Bill, get a Fluke PV350 transducer for checking fuel pressure. Turn on the min/max feature on your Fluke 88 meter, and go drive it. Works great, and no need to run a long fuel hose. PCM's are very reliable, but have seen a couple of 6.0L PCM's with bad analog/digital converters, causing timing issues. Odd problem and threw me for a loop the first time I saw it. Also, don't forget to check/test batteries, especially on a 7.3L. Noisy cells cause a P1670 EF code and a no-start, even with good cranking speed.
Hello Bill, I don't have a powerstroke however a lot of your advice and videos carry across platform, simple stuff that makes things drive better. I am an old school 91 Dodge Diesel no ECU etc. YOUR a great teacher, advocate. Thanks for your Videos
Being a Powersports Tech I can relate to this video specifically the part of "My machine just did this what should I throw at it?". Alot of people don't understand that launching parts is a lot more expensive then taking the time to sort through and check all possible culprits first, "Fixed right the first time" I believe is the saying we like to use. Keep up the good work Bill and make sure to tell Mike and everyone else in the shop to keep up the good work! not everyone is cut out for this line of work that we do!
So far so good with my 2005, 6.0 LTR, Excursion Limited. Ordered it in late June, 2005 and got it in late July, Ford quit making them in September. 165K and still gets us around in style. 16.5-17 Interstate and 14 around town. I'm 77 and this is by far my favorite vehicle.
6400-D is awesome. It increased my milage, significantly reduced regens, and power improved significantly after burning about 20 gallons of treated fuel.
I bought an early 99 7.3 DRW about 2 years ago. Initially it got about 11 mpg. Now it runs better and gets 14 mpg, thanks to Archoil fuel and oil additives. Worth the money, love my truck!
Absolutely great video. I'm an old fart DIY'er that has no diesel background other then the info I've gleaned from some friends and from your website. This was brilliant Man! I wish I was closer to you (I'm in Canada) cause I'd be looking at some of your used vehicles. Maybe now that the border is open I'll come down anyway! Keep it up.
BTW, the CA power grid can handle all the power CA needs except for one fact. The State runs CA ISO, the source for power sourcing the grid and they have some idea that once the state reaches about 46 to 50 mega watts of power demand, they issue limits to the many power distributors requiring them to take away power from customers such as turning off air conditioning condensing units, reward points for cutting back useage and of course rolling blackouts. The state does this intentionally and it has nothing to do with supply because in their heads, 48 some mega watts is the cutoff point "to be clean". During COVID19 there were no outages, no rolling blackouts, no restrictions because of the politics involved with folks stuck in their homes. Another concern, during the 2020 year and around the months of April and May, gasoline was priced at 99 cents a gallon due to all people being stuck at home. Makes you wonder why it went no less than that number when the taxes to the state are about that much alone ! Now, gas is $4.89 a gallon yet the refineries aren't producing any different than they were in 2019. It's all manipulated by politicians just like SCR and DEF/DPF is. If it wasn't for all of the changes in fuel additives at the pump, pollution could be much less than with them.
