I know that Instagram since months ago has given the ability to its users to see the IGTV video in fullscreen landscape view by turning their mobiles or tapping on the fullscreen icon at the bottom right of the horizontal videos. I checked it in two Android mobiles (one is mine) and it doesn't work, I mean neither turning the phone nor tapping on the fullscreen icon didn't work, I have the latest version of Instagram installed on my phone and the rotate function in my mobile is on too! Seems easy enough, but here's my question. If you shoot video in 1920x1080, then crop it to fit 1080x1920, aren't you cutting down the quality by a huge amount? You're then stretching 1080 pixels to fit the vertical 1920. that's like a 50% digital zoom, how do you get it to not look terrible???

Hello Justin. Thanks for making this video. However, I was looking for a way to rotate footage from portrait to landscape. I didn't find anything on your page. I am using a Sony HXR-MC2500 camera and DaVinci Resolve. I need to put the camera on its side to record portrait, but don't know how to rotate it and fit the clips in with the landscape shots (without side bars or gaps, of course). What do you do if you get a pop up that says delete all previews for this sequence? I tried doing it once and all my footage went black, but I can’t figure out how to change the aspect ratio without this popping up.
JUSTIN, I upload 1080x1920 video on igtv but it crops it and the side of the video gets cropped and therefore the text which I write on top left and left vertical center disappears or appears only half. Please make a video on it. Solve the issue. OR make a video on creating video border for igtv.

I once tried to create such a video (editing in hitfilm express) and it was still only in the central part on the horizontal YT video. even if settings were 16:9. Maybe I confused some settings?
Let me guess Final Cut Pro. And stretchy stretchy so that the video looks like a blow up balloon. I’ve been trying to solve this massive issues for months. 35 videos later still can’t do it right. It’s the worst set up ever. Every single platform has a different ratio and that is why all our videos are cut off or blown up and I can’t stand it.

This is where you can get creative and cover them with broll, bigger titles etc. OR you could plan ahead and position them likely where they'll still work when repurposed

It is so horrible. IG. So you choose to do the previews. Now you need all different sizes for a simple preview. Why don’t platforms Do something about this ?

You have to verify your youtube account then enable the custom thumbnail image option in youtube settings. You can then pick a new image each time you upload a video, or edit a video's settings.

Option 1 - 5:00: restack videos
Option 2 - 5:50: split into 3
Option 3 - 6:40: scale up
Option 4 - 7:00: move content while content plays (sliding, jumping...)
Option 5 - 7:29: scale down to fit, background is blurry scaled-up version

IGTV supports up to 10mins for most accounts at this point, some large accounts have access to 1hr videos
