Glad you like the music. The idea for this little arrangement came to me in a flash and I figured I better write it down before St. Paddy's Day was past.
That's absolutely beautiful! Great melody, excellent arrangement by Drew Fennell and excellent blend and balance with the brass. Arr with piano is excellent too! Nice job!!
@@TheMusicofDrewFennell I forgot I was signed in as 'GolfHack'. I play euphonium (hobbyist not pro) in S. FL. I remember RCBB coming to West Palm Beach many years ago. The band put on a great show! I got to meet Lance LaDuke briefly too. Your arrangements are really wonderful Drew! Matonizz - and all personnel @ RCB do an excellent job!
@@golfhack3581, wow, I think that was, if I'm getting it right, 2005. I recall is was a beautiful hall. I believe we did two concerts there--maybe a matinee and an evening show. Thanks for the kind words. (And if you haven't subscribed to my channel, come on over...I have a version this with flugelhorn solo you might like as well.)
Happy Monday Friends! Hope you enjoy this awesome version of "Tis the Last Rose of Summer" written for you by Drew Fennell and recorded by our amazing musicians with St. Patrick's Day in mind, featuring Solo Euphonium by yours truly. Let us know which version you prefer better: brass septet or piano as well as don't forget to show love and support by liking, commenting and sharing. Sheet music & backing tracks available for download at www.matonizz.com/product/tis-the-last-rose-of-summer/ Have a great week everyone!
Funny. When you said that, my mind flashed to a thought I've had for a while now that we're on a streak and don't want to break it with a total stinker. I don't expect we will, but it definitely puts an odd sort of pressure on to keep writing good stuff, recording well, editing right, mixing correctly, etc. I feel like a Neanderthal who has been really good at nabbing wooly mammoths, but now the population of mammoths is waning and the stakes are to to bring home that delicious meal for the people. Am I being overly dramatic? Probably, haha!!!
@@nyancs7098, other than the bodhran, I don't know what that means. Are there some kind of Irish versions of trumpets that smell of whiskey and cause rainbows to flow out of the bell whilst playing in a lively 6/8?
Like you, that was how I learned the tune. And then there was thatr gorgeous version by Wynton Marsalis with the Eastman Wind Ensemble. I hope this lives up, at least a little, to that!
So, so great. All of you together blend so very well. Very good song for St Patrick's Day. As always - fantastic. Thank you ALL.
Thank you very much Sandra and happy St. Patrick's Day for you friend!

Glad you like the music, GolfHack. The arrangement turned out nicely, and @matonizz did a great job as always soloing.

I definitely love the Brass Septet more🙃
@@dominicneureiter6557, I was kind of proud of my piano writing in this one, but it's hard to beat that much sonority.
Very beautiful! And a great arrangement for my Favorite Holiday!
Thank Dominic and happy St. Patrick's Day for you my friend!
Thanks! Glad you like the piece. (The flugelhorn solo version is even nicer...just sayin'...don't hate on me, @matonizz.)
