Not sure why people were hating. This was a really nice, simple review

I picked up mine 2 weeks ago, coming from a Tesla Model 3, the X5 45e is a lot more comfortable. Love it!!

Thanks for watching! That’s definitely a switch. Why did move from the Tesla to the x5?

You are wong. Tesla is ok. Bmw is better.

Is the xDrive45e the model to get? With 50km of electrical range it’s good for a shorter commute.

Great and well done review. Precise and informative. Great job. Interesting point about the door sills and getting your pants dirty. Is there any work around that, other than being cognizant of it and trying to keep your leg away? Paint protection film or ceramic coating perhaps?

No real workaround other than being more aware. Protection film or ceramic would protect the paint but still get dirty thus leaving “skid marks” on the back of your pants 😂.

You must have a home level 2 charger for a satisfying experience. Public charging is slow and cumbersome. The 120v charged took nearly 24 hours to full charge. Great vehicle currently 2/3 of mileage is electric and mpg 74 mpg(disregarding home charging cost).

    • @JimmyMak

For sure a level 2 charger would greatly help.

I have a question. Have you driven a full tank of gas in one day in hybrid mode. My use case is unique. I do rideshare and drive 300 miles plus per day. I have level two charging at home because I used to have a BMW I three but obviously with a plug-in hybrid I would use the charged electric miles in the first hour of my day LOL.I’m curious how well the vehicle does recharging the battery as you’re driving mixed highway and city driving. Does it recharge it? Allowing you to have even more electric miles than what you charged up at home with? Or once it’s completed or you just driving around a heavier gasoline engine X5

@@icanmanifest there is little charging unless braking or coasting is involved. Steady 65 mph driving will result in negligible charging. Since May 17 I have used only a couple gallons of gasoline as only on one occasion have we traveled more than 40 miles. In May I had two 600 mile day and a third of 450 miles all in hybrid. The gauge showed 1 or 2 miles of electric range. I did not attempt a public charge. I think the gas only x5 would be more drivable that the 45e in extended highway driving. The electric only mode in short trips is terrific and overwhelms the deficiencies in gasoline driving. In October i will have almost 3 full days of gasoline driving when I return to Arizona. In my view the recharging in hybrid mode is not impressive.

$70K, the money you saved on gas is already paid in front. And get ready to get your BMW serviced after 40K miles.

That was my initial conclusion as well, but the $7,500 federal tax credit actually makes it cheaper than the cheapest X5. Though I will admit the practicality of offering $7,500 tax credits on this type of vehicle is definitely suspect.

How about the heated steering wheel, or heat in general, I have heard they need the ICE running to give you heat...and how about info on cold temps affect on performance and mileage....review seems general and missed some key points in these areas ...IMHO

Testing the vehicle in the summer doesn’t allow me to test heat as the vehicle is warm at startup.

Traded my BMW X3 Sdrive 30i to a Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid limited this last weekend……surprisingly the Santa Fe is a decent drive, and better features/interior. Sucks that BMW nit picks all the features and you rack up cost…..annoying. Also……it felt cheap even though it was “bmw”. Okay, I’ll give it credit where the torque was bitchin…..and the screen looked nicer in pixel quality but that’s it. Cheers
