CEBU, PHILIPPINES - Cebu is one of the food capitals of the Philippines and there’s no better way to jump into the local Filipino food culture than with a huge Su-To-Kil meal! Today I’m meeting up with my friend Carlo from Kalami Cebu, and we’re going to order a huge meal, including a giant Cobia fish belly grill!
Kalami Cebu - First of all a huge thank you to Carlo, from @KalamiCebu He’s a local from Cebu that is probably the most knowledgeable guy about the local food of Cebu. He’s so much fun to hang out and eat with. Go check his content out for great tips on where to eat in Cebu.
Parr’t Ebelle Seafood Restaurant (goo.gl/maps/St...) - Today for lunch we’re heading straight to Parr’t Ebelle Tinola, a restaurant that’s known for its giant fish grill, and for its fish soup called tinola. Altogether the popular combination is called Su-To-Kil: sugba (grill), tola (soup), kilaw (marinated in vinegar). It’s a legendary Filipino food combination that can be made from all fish in different cooking methods so you have a complete meal.
Parr’t Ebelle Tinola is one of the most popular and famous tinola and sutokil meals in Cebu. Everyday the restaurant is absolutely jam packed and after tasting all the food - now we know why. It’s so tasty and the quality is so good. With Carlo’s expertise, we ordered the giant Cobia fish belly, the local favorite fish - it was huge. The belly was so delicious, dipped in soy sauce and vinegar and combined with vinegared fish (kinilaw), grape seaweed, and 2 varieties of fish head soup.
Highly recommended Parr’t Ebelle Tinola is a restaurant you have to try when you’re in Cebu, Philippines!
Price - 2,996 PHP ($54.25 US) for everything

Thank you so much for your support Frannie!
When I was in the Navy back in the 1980s one of the first places I went was to Subic bay in the Philippines… I’ve got such fond memories of the wonderful people and the food was delicious! It was back before the Internet and everything felt so exotic…
I never knew Filipino food was like this. What an wide range!! That grilled fish, those sea grapes popping in your mouth, the lechon with vinegar and chili pepper. The fried organ street food. Incredible. I also love how vinegar is used as a base for pretty much all of the dips. So refreshing on the palate!
Hope to travel to the Philippines one day. The people there seem so kind. Much respect from Denmark 🇵🇭🇩🇰
go to cebu, or sarangani :)
I stayed in the Philippines for an extended time , they have the best variety of isda in the world.

In South Africa we have a similar dish to the corn dish, we call it pap or bogobe and in Zimbabwe they call it sadza. It’s a Southern African staple made with maize meal (corn that’s been dried and ground up to a fine powder). We eat it with almost any and every meal, the same way some Asian cultures have rice or noodles with almost every meal.
It is the same in Cebu. Bugas Mais
This was such a phenomenal episode! That food looks amazing! I've never had fish that looked that good - especially the fish belly! I'm recovering from covid, and this episode really cheered me up! Mark, you are awesome!
Get better. Happy New Year
Thank you very much Albert, hoping for your speedy recorvery!

Hello dear Mark. I really enjoyed your video. My wife is Filipino. We invite you to Poland🇵🇱, where we have been living for several years now.🙂 A must-try when visiting the Polish mountains, smoked goat cheese and cheese made in the mountains protected by a trademark. It tastes amazing warm with the addition of cranberries. but in poland there is so much variety of food in this country between Russia, Germany, Baltic sea and mountains. Kind regards 👍🙂🇵🇱🇵🇭
When the guy with guitar come in, it becomes Spanish vibes for me
As usual Mark never disappoints, looks delicious even when watching from Kenya.

Proud Cebuano here....
Thanks for visiting the Philippines, Mark. Happy holidays and God bless you.
The best combination for that kind of food is the rice ill never try corn into a soup
I'm from Cebu and now living in LA, I really miss that place. That is usually the place I go to every Saturday and Sunday when I was still there. There is also another place a couple of meters away from there. Everytime I go there I eat mais, the pork belly, kinilaw and the tuna. Excellent video. Thank you Mark!
Question kinakamay ba talaga ung may sabaw?
@@christinemelida9349 dependo po yan sa trip nyo. kaming mga cebuano basta pagkain na ang pinaguusapan nakakamay talaga. Nasa tao po yan hehe
@@christinemelida9349 Masarap kumain pagnagkakamay trust me
That massive grilled fish belly is making my mouth water, and the corn porridge looks a lot like mashed potatoes. Definitely worth trying when in Cebu.
Oh how I'd love to travel to the Phillipines , everything looks delicious
It’s weird how I’m so used to eating here that it’s pretty unusual seeing this vlog. Whenever I want to eat tinolang isda (fish stew/soup), my husband i just travel here to eat. This place has the best value for money.
Love your seafood videos Mark! I always eat my lunch and dinner while watching your videos so I can get a somewhat experience lol
@markwiens The kinilaw here in Cagayan de Oro city is way different. You should come and try. It will be worth it.
Salamat Mark💙💚❤ for visiting cebu, the best SUTOKIL in our country (in the world😂) hope to see you in person.
Thanks Mark for not forgetting Philippines🇵🇭 You are always welcome here! I hope someday you will visit some provinces and taste our local cuisines!
Mark is clearly enjoying eating the food with his hands haha, the Filipino way :))
"Kinilaw" is the the raw fish Bisaya version of (Cebu) of the Japanese "Sashimi" or " Sushi" which is basically raw fish. Mix with calamansi, vinegar, ginger, onions, chili & secret ingredients.. You should have it with rice not corn, because the corn reminds me of potatoes, but they said it is healthier than Rice, Since I'm Asian and Cebuano Bisayan let's eat with both rice and corn, I miss Lechon and Puso rice in Cebu.. The Papaya is the Korean Version of Kimchi, in Bisaya we call it "Atsara" pickled Papaya.. "Amping"..
Kinilaw is heavy already. Good with rice or by itself, not Mais. 😁 Mais is good with kandeng or balbacua or larang.
FOODGASM, Mark! I'm jealous!!!!! Wish I was there...
Good thing about Mark is that he knows and remember some of the filipino dishes he ate. He appreciate filipino foods☺️
Excellent vlog. Mark is simply the best.
Mouth-watering episode. And I lived here in Cebu all my life. I now realized that, to coin a phrase, '' I've been sitting in a pot of stew'' all these years!
idk why i watch you everytime im high af but damn mark you make me cry sometimes like these foods are so delicious to look at i cant even imagine how delicious its would taste
