I received my identical 4T 4HP engine as yours I installed it and after a few tests it moves my small boat quite well except that I have a small problem when I accelerate without putting the propeller button down I can not accelerate otherwise the engine stops and stalls but if I put the propeller system, button down, I can accelerate fully ... Your video is a literal engine saver. Thank you for posting it.
I just bought this engine, and you're right, the manual is about as much use a sober man at a piss up. Thank you for the detailed video, especially about the lower gear lube. I've never owned an outboard before, so i suspect I would have been caught completely unawares about that one. I suppose the best petrol for me is the 95 unleaded, as it's the standard UK e10 petrol.
if you've got any other advice for a first time outboard owner, I'd appreciate it. I'll be using mine to get my tiny dinghy back and forward from my boat at anchor to shore. it's basically the engine for my grocery shopping

Hi mate just subbed ,loved the video as im contemplating getting one of these little engines the reviews have been good and for the price you cant go wrong,i know you can also add a fuel cut off switch so when you store it you can turn the fuel swith off and let the engine run dry so that theres no fuel left in the carburettor and you can also add a safety cut off pull cord which i might install also safety first ,but thankyou for sharing this video as i will follow your instructions on this engine take care all the best crash😁👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

When I pulled the cover on mine, there was a gasket between the outside of the cover and the lower unit. Surprised yours didn't have one. Since then, I've been trying to find a replacement gasket on line, without any luck. It's coming up on time to change the oil in the lower unit and I hope the gasket is either not all that necessary due to the seal, or that I can find one before then, or just re-use the old one. This is the link for the motor however they seem to have replaced the motor I have with a different model all the other sites have the model I have marked unavailable or out of stock. Or they are selling the same motor but with a jet drive system instead of a propeller drive. Sorry I couldn’t find the exact model for you but I hope this helps. Also keep in mind when dealing with them they will usually except a lower price for the motor during winter. www.ebay.com/itm/314610715521?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=2hfbsis7ruw&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=y6rwl8lqqtg&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
