Back when MTV was in its infancy and we couldn't get enough of these videos 💕
We need to get MTV back to its prime.
Brother you’re reactions are one of my favorite parts of my day. I absolutely love watching people react to stuff that I love. I want everyone to hear this kind of music because it’s getting harder and harder to find these days. Cheers man!
Hahaha my son (oldest one) found out a long time ago not only I like this song but even so I had my hair like a peacock (a thing back then and it was the Aqua Net hairspray at that 😂) so he use to call me A Flock of Peacock 😂😂😂😂😂
So u doing a 80's vibe
Big Country - In A Big Country
Kajagoogoo - Too Shy
The Fix - Red Skies
The Fix - Saved by Zero
The Fix-Stand or Fall
The Fix - Secret Separation
Duran Duran - Rio
Duran Duran - The Reflex
Dexys Midnight Club - Come On Elieen
Elvis Costello - Veronica (this song was about his grandmother who was in a nursing home and needed to get her out because she was getting abused there he was doing what he could to try and get her out but before he could she passed away)
Shelia E - Love Bizzare
Chaka Khan - I Feel For You ( Herbie Hancock is in here and Stevie Wonder playing the Harmonica )
👍
HIGHLY recommend listening to the full length version. That intro is everything!
❤️ 80’s AFOS are legendary!
They were an underrated band. There were some good songs on this album, I had the old school cassette😁 I love that you enjoyed this one so much. Drums and guitars are awesome!
This is the joke in Pulp Fiction, when Samuel L. Jackson says, "You! Flock of Seagulls!"
Love this song!!! And the commentary from your life on Monday 😄
I know that's right ---that guitar solo is S I C K!!!!!
Flock of Seagulls - Space Age Love Song. Claaaaaaassic.
It’s so funny how people dogged on 80s music, but here we are, callin out all the bangers 😂
@A Stand User ACK.
While I love my rock and old school rap, I have a special place for 80s New Wave! Being a child of the 80s, this music brings back a lot of memories. ❤️
@A Stand User I DO 😭
Only a few bangers for me but glad he picked this song
Wedding Singer is a great way to relive many of these great 80s songs.
These 80s videos 🤣. They look so amateurish now, but these were serious video effects back in the day.
Over on professor of rock, it’s discussed how last minute, and cheaply, this is music vid was made.
ua-cam.com/video/YDwjk32qzdQ/v-deo.html
I never cared how cheaply they were made. Music videos were new and groups were scrambling to make something for MTV back when all they did was play music videos. I'd sit for hours watching them.
Video Director: Alright lads, we need something memorable.
Flock of Seagulls: Hold our cans of hairspray.
Aquanet!
Their hair was legendary 😂
Yeh but then the Thompson Twins came and said hold our hairspay while we shave off our eye brows ...
@@hoylt Yes!!
CLASSIC ... LOL
You have a 80s heart.
This is the epitome of British new wave. Gary Numan banged on the door with "Cars," then Human League and Flock of Seagulls kicked the door in. With this genre, the cheaper and less slick the video, the better.
No.... Sorry but the Cure was the best band in the 80s The Cure is still my favorite band LOL
Flock of Seagulls are American
@@bobmcbride1487 No, they're from Liverpool.

Mr. Video-Your best reactions and dance moves come from songs from the 80’s. You grew up on the wrong generation.
I was in high school when this came out. I hated most 80's music back them, but for some odd reason I loved this song. It get heavy air play on MTV. You would have loved MTV back then.
OMG! Heavy rotation to say the least huh? LOL! I was in high school too. My God this got over played on the radio too
💙 MTV
In high school too but I loved the 80s music 💗
I graduated in 83...MTV ruled! All those videos are cheesy now, but in a good way
Yes! Back then MTV was magical, we all sat around the television mesmerized!
I went to a Flock Of Seagulls concert July 1985 Fayetteville, North Carolina. This is off the record right?
Ah, no shame in that, buddy.
@@jamesleblanc7437 lol
I saw them too but would never admit it.
You are among friends...we will protect you, lol.

If you liked this, I would suggest Hungry Like The Wolf by Duran Duran.
Oh...good song
Anything by Duran Duran - I've been a Duranie since 1982. 😎
Yes !!
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.....
Duran were a great band. So many hits
After this early 80's banger, lemme suggest:
One Thing Leads To Another by The Fixx!
You need to react to Wang Chung dance hall days if your going into the 80s 👌
Oh so definitely, great song!
And Gary Numan song...Cars...great beat
Yeah!😉
@@TracyfromNC that song was my intro to new wave and still a favorite.
Yeeaah please react this song Dance Hall days- Wang Chung.
New Wave is the BEST wave! Try "Space Age Love Song" and "Wishing" by these dudes.
Yep Space Age love song amazing song Paul Reynolds is the guitar 🎸 man with the glasses
Did you do a reaction to Cars-Gary Newman?? Other suggestions She Blinded me with Science -Thomas Dolby, The Lebenon by Human League, Talking in Your Sleep - Romantics, I JUst Died in Your Arms-Cutting Crew and anything from Alison Moyet she was in Yaz. :-)
Excellent suggestions! She Blinded Me With Science is one of my favorite songs from the era and genre. Going to other weird 80s songs, Wall of Voodoo - Mexican Radio.
Yaz- Situation!
@@thetalantonx Wall of Voodoo were excellent ! The entire Call of the West album is genius .
Cars was thevery 1st 80sish album my parents bought. I say on the floor in front of the stereo for hours listening to it
The Cars yeah!
80s new wave was some great music.
But wasn't it great though? You had these great Guitar riffs from Paul Reynolds with some very cool synth chords from Mike Score...like a really good Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich !...Nothing ever like 80's New Wave!
Great Reaction!!!! This group was pretty revolutionary at the time. They were the new wave movement. Paul Reynolds guitar was so different and bad ass! This song was a jam! Try Space Age Love Song. They play this live great!
Oh so 80s, I love that song 😂😂
Out of the 80s New Wave scene this song was a pioneering trailblazer. I can never tire of hearing this song.
Paul Reynolds, the guitarists, was 17 at the time this was recorded.
Lead Guitar. High school boy. Paul wisely quit a year+ later. Said he was too young for rock star life. For drugs, booze, STDs, etc. Smart. Great guitarist.
15
Incorrect. Paul was 17 when he joined the band in 1980. He was 19 when this song came out in 1982 (he turned 20 that summer - his birthday is 4 days before mine).
@@CamusCombat Paul left the band 2 years later in 1984 (he had just turned 22 the month prior). But like you said, he stated on VH1's Bands Reunited he felt he was too young for the rock & roll lifestyle. The stress/pressure of constantly touring took a toll on him and he turned to alcohol & drugs to try to cope. Eventually he had enough and had to get out, but he still ended up having a nervous breakdown in the aftermath. It's a shame the industry broke him because he is an amazing guitarist and one of the most underrated of the 80s for sure.
The Cars, Joe Jackson, Blondie, The Clash, Duran Duran, The Smithereens, Simple Minds...it goes on and on......you've got a lot of music to listen to.
The clash 👌👌👌👌👌

Did you run so far away? This was so weird and fun when it came out
Have you seen Depeche Mode personal Jesus, yet ?
Greetings from South Africa. I was a teenager during the '80's, born 1970...even through all the teenage angst, the '80's still have some of the best memories. Clubbing and dancing, no cell phones, no social media, just hanging out with friends and spending weekends dancing the night away in Night Clubs that never slept.
Seagulls front man started a hair trend that year.
I can't help but think of the Friends episode when they flash-back to their college days and Chandler had the Flock of Seagulls hair, lol.
I had one of those haircuts. Lol!
All my art I drew the models in that hair style. Art 101 🤣🤣
Yeah we had a dude Barron that sported that du 😂😂
The quintessential FOS hairdo that everyone into New Wave wanted was the one from 'Space Age Love Song'.

The 80s, yo! One helluva rabbit hole. (Cocaine is a helluva drug!) 💖🌠💖
LOL Kelly 😂
I believe you are ready now for Duran Duran. "Planet Earth" is where you need to start. There's A LOT!

The good old 1980ies - what a decade, what a unique style of music! I loved this song when I was young ... in the 80ies :-)
For those old enough to remember this song made its first round of comebacks with Tommy Vercetti running down the streets of Vice City in the commercial selling us the game. The 80s comes around again and I am here for it.
You found the Flock, and you loved it!!! These gents spun some cosmic sci-fi sounds in their music, all 80s dance floor bangers; Space Age Love Song, Telecommunication, Nightmares, Wishing (I Had a Photograph). Never saw them in their heyday, but finally saw them during a "New Wave Reunion tourl" in 2006.
Hey Mr. Video! Some advice about your new guitar:
Here’s a list of things you need to do to start jamming a way:
1) You have an electric guitar, so you need to plug it into an amp to be able to play it. You’ll need to purchase an amp. Just search up guitar amp buying guide on UA-cam and that’ll help you find the right amp. I would suggest going to a nearby guitar store and trying out their amps to see if one works for you.
2) You’ll need to purchase picks to strum with (they’re VERY cheap, like 25¢ a pick), and a tuner to tune your guitar with (those are cheap too)
3) Check our guitar lessons on UA-cam (MartyMusic is my favorite) or check out Fender.com’s Free lessons for 3 months program (I’ve used it before, it’s really helpful for beginners)
Then you’re ready to start jamming! Play just 10 mins a day and you’ll be on your way to becoming a great guitarist!
Don't forget petals unless amp has built in distortion. I recommend if shopping on a budget to check pawn shops or marketplace. You can also now just download a guitar tuner app on your phone.
Give him some brand names or all amps are created equal
I recommend nothing less than an hour a day
Try the pawn shop for equipment until you are sure you’re going to keep going. Just my $0.02.
I vote Boss Katana MK2 100W amp.
80s music forever 😎
You know the scene in Pulp Fiction, where Jules is talking to Brett about burgers?... The guy on the couch who gets shot first gets referred to by Jules as "Flock of Seagulls," owing to his foppish haircut.
In the Wedding Singer, the scene where the guy selling Adam Sandler the airplane ticket has the hair-do.
Try Visage fade to grey for very 80s British synth pop/ new wave
THE EIGHTIES WERE THE GREATEST DECADE EVER
Music was cool and we didn’t need to say nasty things on the lyrics
I’m really blessed that I was young and experienced all the magic 😜👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The Scorpions - Rock you like a hurricane is all about sex
Billy Idol - Rebel Yell was all about having sex with a girl
Eddy Murphy - Party all the time was about cocaine.
80s had some great bangers but there were MANY songs that had nasty things back then, they just hid it better back then
I loved the 80s too, but if you didn't hear nasty things, it's because you weren't really listening. *So* many 80's hits had dirty lyrics, some worse than today, but I didn't catch a lot of them as a child (some were blatantly obvious even to an 8-year-old). But don't worry, the kids of today aren't catching on any better than you did.
@@mikevsworldofficial He's talking about foul language and explicit things. Those songs you mentioned are not that. The sex and coke was implied. It wasn't crude and in your face like today.
golden earring, twilight zone .. youll love it.
Yaaass
Oh great request! Banger for who!
This is my favorite song to listen to on headphones, in the car, well... everywhere. It’s just one of the best!
You have now come to the point of eighties music where it is time to sample The Fixx. "Saved by Zero", "One Thing Leads to Another", "Stand or Fall" and "Red Skies at Night". I cannot express how much it thrills me to see you enjoying Flock of Seagulls...such a fun time when this came out!!! An open mind about music is a beautiful thing, and you absolutely have it!!!

I seen the band about 20 years ago. I won front row tickets and it was AMAZING! I went to go get a beer and I went up to a security guard and I said, jokingly, tell Mike Score(lead singer) I would like to meet him.......and he did and I had a lovely conversation with him. He was so kind and I will forever be grateful. LOVE TFOS!!! All their songs are pretty amazing, but try Space age love song and Wishing I had a photograph, they are my favorites. Great reaction, my friend ❤
That's great you had such a positive encounter with Mike, because I heard heard from many that he is not the nicest person and also very difficult to work with/for.
@@AJ17_ Hello AJ17! That is so sad to hear about Mike. He was such a nice person and even took time to meet my mom too. I know his brother left the band for awhile, but has since returned. Maybe he was having a great night when we met, all I know is it was one of my favorite memories. Thank you so much for the comment my friend! It was greatly appreciated. All my best 🙏♥️
@@vannaty7 Mike's brother Ali returned (along with Paul and Frank) when they did the VH1 Bands Reunited thing in 2003, then they did a brief reunion tour in 2004, but it fell apart fast when old tensions resurfaced and everyone started fighting again, and then Mike ditched the other 3 and went back to his touring band (while still promoting the remaining dates as "the original lineup"). But the original 4 have reunited for the Ascension, In Flight & String Theory albums (but they all recorded their parts separately and sent them in to be mixed). Mike and Ali don't really speak much outside of occasional family functions. Mike sadly has a lot of ego problems and that was the root of what eventually tore the band apart (Frank said on Bands Reunited that Mike went to counseling for his ego issues, but it didn't do much good).
I wanna hear The Smiths!! I recommend How Soon is Now?
He will definitely get chicken skin from that!! Great song 💖

Me too! This was my all-time favorite song to dance to in the clubs, follwed by Heaven 17's "Let Me Go", Yazoo's "Situation" Talk Talk's "It's My Life" and Talking Heads' "Burnin' Down The House". My friends and I had the best time dancing all night - what a vibe!!!
Mr V - you are right, a classic, epic song that honors the 80s sound!
Ah, the 2nd British Invasion of the 80s: Duran Duran, Human League, Culture Club, The Police, Eurythmics, Yaz, Depeche Mode, Bowie (round 2), New Order, etc., etc., etc. The other song I like by Flock of Seagulls is "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)". But I *_HIGHLY_* suggest "Situation" by Yaz and "Let's Dance" by David Bowie. Both of those songs are legendary.
