  • This is the first of 15 videos chronicling the installation of headers, new evaporator, new spark plugs/wires, clutch slave&master cylinder, and cooling hoses to my 1993 C4 Corvette with the LT-1 engine.
In this video I work to drop the stock exhaust (mufflers, catalytic converters, and pipes, hanger/hardware.
If you don't like the editing then you will have to choose to view someone else's video. I tried, but alas my effort appears to be somewhat in vain.

I haven't watched your whole series yet, I already know what its going to be like. I'm planning headers and exhaust on my 96 Corvette this winter so here I am, watching and getting an idea on what I am in for. See you at the end...

Let me know how it goes!! I’m really interested to know if my misfortune was an anomaly.

@@fizzybillylah3816 Finished the job over the weekend. Ran into most of the same, clutch master rod went in the wrong side of pedal; rod c Clip was a nightmare to get on; and clutch slave was a nightmare to squeeze in between O2 sensor and shift lockout solenoid. I did take a different approach to bleeding that allowed to complete it in a couple of minutes. I bench bled slave like you did but I also filled master reservoir before I connected line to slave and lastly I pumped brake fluid through slave upwards. Once reservoir was filled I had instant pedal pressure.

@@PrimalurgesMiami what brand header did you go with? Did the holes line up with head? Did you keep the emissions tube (A.I.R tube)?

@@fizzybillylah3816 Never did headers, just clutch master & slave. Thought about doing headers in the past but fitment issues are apparently common and I have the one year LT4 so it might be even harder to find something that fits right.

@@PrimalurgesMiami oh, ok. Well cool. I’m glad you read the video description to know that my series has more than just headers.
Is that how you knew the clutch work was there, or did you just happen to watch all of the videos and just came across it?
Still, I’m stoked that my video helped.
      Later, and happy wrenching:).

Nice video. Provides a nice perspective. Cool music in the background as well. I am planning on installing headers on my 94 Vette. Did you notice a performance gain with your headers? My car is a true virgin concourse show car and I am trying to weigh out the benefits.

Thanks Joseph. I don't regret one bit adding the headers!!! The sound is amazing!!!!!!!!! Even if you don't get a performance bump, having a Corvette that sounds like a muscle car should sound is good enough for me. I can't say there was an appreciable increase in power, but the sound totally changes the driving experience in the best way. I put on "hi-flow" cats....they suck, I should have put on regular cats...I don't like that exhaust smell when car is just idling in traffic and people behind me have their windows down. I know the videos are long but I documented every single step it takes to pull this job off...take a look at all of them all the way through to save yourself the headaches I bumped into. Get the allen head exhaust bolts, get new AIR tubes, and get some good catalytic converters. I had to pay a muffler shop $800 to add an H pipe and weld on the mufflers to the stock dual pipes running back after headers...make sure that cost is part of your budget.

I had the same problem...What a pain in the ass

Did you figure out what the problem was? I think Chevy must have changed the heads mid ways through production...how else could two different manufactures get something(exhaust locations) so basic and serious, wrong? At least I wasn't the only one...I wonder if shops that did this job for customers had the same problem and just didn't say anything??
