GReddy's R33 GT-R, Built to Go 300+ km/h in 1995
Вставка

- GReddy Performance and Trust are known as gods in the tuning industry for a reason. Kenji Sumino, who helms GReddy, and his team of badass engineers, were tasked to build out the newest GT-R (at the time) to be able to run over 180mph in the Yatabe Top Speed Time Trials. That might not sound too crazy today, but we're talking about the year 1995, which is basically Season 1 of the tv show Friends. Also, sparkle paint job.

Seeing something that hasn't been changed and has been kept the same way for over almost 30 years feels like you are in the past! Such a sick and amazing car. 🔥
1996 is almost 30 years? Please dont say that, I had to recheck how old I am😅 ITS STILL MID 20'S
@@tmangt1 He just said that
@@tmangt1 well let me confirm your fear, you’re OLD 😂 im 27 & was born in 1995. Gone call it 30 years might as well 😂😂😂👍🏾
Ridiculous chrome engine bay, fast n furious style interior, and paint so flaked it probably added 10 pounds . I adore it.
BBK jjj&&h*jh*****uhh&&&&&M😅0❤❤.😅
So amazing
The car look awesome! 🤩
It looks like it's travelled through time, straight from the 90's Shutokou Expressway.
I love it
The history behind it is sick
300/k in 1995 was wild fast
Still is wild fast
Mid 180s is definitely moving even now. In something raw like this it be even more insane
This was such a good watch, this thing is well built! Friggin dope. 🔥🔥 -Edgar
Pushing 900 hp, 10k rpm, old tech for the injectors and boost, still got HICAS, the fuel pumps... The mechanical and electrical parts are crazy already for a late nineties car. Adding to that all the visual mods, this is an absolutely incredible build and It's super cool it remained in great shape and almost complete 25+ years later
This Greddy R33 S-ROC is just as legendary as the 400R. Maybe even moreso. I drooled over it in the early days of the internet and magazines. Love seeing it is still alive and well
SO MUCH RESPECT.......these are the cars i dreamed off back at high school. but just to listen to you and kenji talking. most asian's talk with respect, no bad language, and humble. so nice to hear in the world today.
I remember this car being featured in Max Power magazine in the U.K in (I think) '98... I'd seen Skyline GT-R's before, and I'd seen metal flake paint before but only on hotrods and lowriders, never on a tuned, Japanese super coupe, as a 12yr old car nut I was utterly blown away by every aspect of the build... Loved watching this video and remembering that era of JDM car building, when four figure power numbers were almost unheard of, and a sequential box was the most amazing thing ever... Good times, great cars!!! Thank you Larry for the awesome feature.
That paint is intense...... The interior is so unique. All the chassis reinforcements....the engine sounds really good. what a sweet car.
The sound of the straight cut gears is what does it for me.
@josephmatuszak3855 what is the Name of the colour?
@@stabilesbrett3071 Custom. You think I know what they laid on it in 1995? It's at least a 3 paint scheme, with a base/sparkle/clear. It's close to a Bayside Blue, but has a much lighter flop.
So cool to see this historic Trust/GReddy masterpiece in its original form and see and hear it drive! Thank you for showing this to us.
My first Hot Import Night's was in San Jose, Cali back in 05. I was also at the first Formula D event back in 04
At the time, Infineon Raceway. Remember videos like this were only available on limewire or Kazaa. Thank you for this Larry!!
Also, Thank you to Super Street, Import Tuner, H.C.I, sports compact for all your content during that time frame!!
Larry always bringing us that much needed content
Kenji has so many cool stories. I can't believe how quick the time passed listening to him recount the history between himself and this 33. Thanks for the video Larry.
wow!!!!! im 34 years old and I grew up watching option videos with these cars!!!!!so amazing it almost brought me tears seeing this car!!!!
The story gives me shivers. The transmission noise brought me back to the sleepless gran turismo endurance days. Truly legendary.
At a “sleep over” as a kid we did the endurance racers trying to save up for the polyphony f1 car, when we where all asleep a friend spent all the money on the wrong car. Still makes me laugh to this day
Quaife makes the noisiest dog boxes I've ever come across, really makes you hate yourself for choosing it.
@@cheesepizza87 I remember doing this race solo to get that F1 car! The game was on easy mode after that. I lost count of the amount of times I did that endurance race in the F1 car but my brother thought I bought a GameShark to get a money cheat.
I wish I had the same patience for games these days! Even GT7 doesn’t quite do it for r compared to back when I was a kid.
@@gusmedero2499 the nostalgia + all the child like optimism 🤣 staying up all night with not a care in the world, the game felt so ahead of it’s time, physics etc feel like it gave me the deep routed passion for all things 4 wheels, appreciate your story dude ✌🏽
@@cheesepizza87 Only two things kept me up all night back in those days and they were Gran Turismo and Final Fantasy! Simpler times
Thanks for this Larry, much appreciated!
A 50 minute upload on my birthday, about one of my favorite cars ever produced, from my favorite channel. You kidding me? Let's fucking go!
oh man, this car went unchanged since 1996 TAS, wow! I remember first time seeing it in car magazine, along with the yellow Supra, Trust made a big impression on my young mind that year.
I love the vibe of these videos, keeps it real and always lets the discussion breathe.
What amazing story that you were able to get about this build and the journey it took full circle to end up back in the original builders hands. I love that all these '90s builds are starting to come back into the light.
Time capsules like this are so cool!
LOVE IT, I also love that he was not afraid to SEND IT!
I remember when this car arrived in the US and featured in Turbo Magazine. This engine turns 13,000 rpm. It was my inspiration to acquire a 97 model in 98.
r33 HICAS actually works very well, unless you are drifting the car there is not a need to delete it. Much much much more reliable and less wonky than the r32 HICAS.
This is a great ep Larry. This is the stuff I love. Attention to detail of the '90 era has always been extremely interesting to me. I'm also excited to see your content focus change a bit into the GTR history. Thanks for this.
That’s A Amazing Piece Of True GTR History!!! 8,000 RPM launch 10,000 RPM!! It was SCREAMING Around the track!! 60 pounds of paint!!! WOW!!! It’s dated but it’s a DREAM CAR FOR ANY ONE THAT LOVES THESE CARS!!! I would get it up to date safety wise but other than that leave it alone!!! It’s Sweet Historical!!!! I remember those days I was graduating High School!!!
This is gold🔥🤟 nostalgia is an understatement thanks Larry!
15:03 The car looked so good with those polished AMKREAD wheels! 🤩
I wish it still had them today!
I hope you find them back one day!
Awesome piece of history ! Screams 90's
Growing up 80s-2000's Japan was awesome time, car/performance wise.
Glad to be a part of it too.👌
This car is legendary! I believe they had this engine with the 2x T67 turbos on display at the Trust factory.
BEST LOOKING AND SOUNDING R33 🤩
It’s awesome that the car still exists today!
Just a shame that it doesn’t have the polished AMKREAD wheels anymore…
It looked the best with those wheels! 🤩
The car had more presence with them!
I hope that it gets those wheels back one day for the ultimate look!
What an amazing story! Loved this Larry, amazing job!
Super humble dude. This should be good. Love the history. Thank you 👍🏾
The paint reflects hard as on dull dusty grey asphalt,. next level
i love that they're at the GReddy shop and they have a damn clean EF hatch in the background
Yes, Trust was big with Honda. I remember the Trust SP exhaust on my Civic!
I love the long videos. Any shorter wouldn’t do the car justice
Can’t believe that’s the same paint from 1995, that thing looks like glass 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥. The plastic bits are scratched up but that paint omg. If only factory Nissan pain held up like this instead of having to pay for ceramic coating & not drive the damn thing lol
Awesome content as always sir👍🏻🤙🏻 Im just happy that the R33 is more appreciated now then ever because alot of JDM car fans despised it and favored the R32 and 34 over the 33 but now its a car that car nuts want. Its one of those "You either love it or hate it skylines and when it comes to Skylines overall, i love them all 🤘🏻💀🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kenji as been in the back ground on many à build.
This was great to see how , Kenji, got to be where he is.
When I saw him first in 2015 with Sung Kang , I thought here is Kenji coming to Cali being bank rolled , and opened his shop.
This video changes everything , I assumed from what I saw From Florida, on, UA-cam. I'm not in Cali
Kenji should be more, in front he has plenty experience .
So glad it ended up in the hands of someone who took care of it. Unlike the BN Sport R34 demo car that was sold to a dude in the UK & was ruined. God bless the previous owner!.
Amazing i remember that car running YATABE, congratulations and big thanks to both you two for bringing that beast again and share with new generations what was great GOLD AGE of tuning and performance
A blast from the past 🔥🤘 and people thought Japanese cars don’t have chop
Amazing! from my day, when I was working for Jacks company Aerotech, working on Kenji's roadster...Goodtimes'
Hats off Larry you ask great questions and you narrate and guide such a excellent story, Wow! Mad props bro🫡
“How much metallic flake would you like to go into the paint ? “
“ Yes .”

Like 10 - 15 years ago?
Way longer to be fair! 😉
This is definitely a style from around 25 years ago…
It looks awesome!
Thank you for having such awesome content. This car takes me back.
This sounds straight from 90s 🤩
I remember this car from the magazines back in the day!!
I'm old enough to know all of those GReddy products. I used the ProFec EBC on my car.
Sick car Kenji love the color! Greddy is awesome company. I have had a few GReddy parts on a couple cars and never had a issue!
This is what a SEMA build would he like back in the 90's. No detail is unfinished, and they actually performed. They wouldn't even have considered incomplete builds like a missing driveshaft and such back in the times of this show car build.
Awesome to see the Legend return to its Rightful Owner’s… Veilside Combat R33 - JUN Hyperlemon I & II - HKS Drag GTR R33 - Top Secret R33 - All with Golden era Tuning 👑
900hp in 95 is compared to an VR38DETT having 4000hp now👍🏼
T67’s or Single T88 - keep it all period correct please👌🏼
Much respect car's a legend still looks 90's
People here in the states will definitely think that's an altima coupe until they get close
Amazing 👏 👍🤙
My favorite Godzilla (R33) just because it’s the misfit. That long sexy beast is where it’s at, in my opinion.
Shoutout to FedEx about halfway through the video...always delivers.😂
Twin t67s back then was crazy
The sound of that transmission smh. insane.
It looks like a boss car you would see in Shutokou Battle / Tokyo Xtreme Racer
This car was fast in the 90s and today these cars can make over 2000hp which is more than a Bugatti
I'd love to see this car tuned on a modern Engine Management like a Haltech Elite. I promise you it will be a whole new level of performance
yellow upholstery was very instrumental in going 300+ km/h, it adds at least 10km/h, without it they couldn't have done it
Late 90’s-2000’s poster car colour for the GTR NZ scene.
Tommyfyeah should've been here for this... The contrast of opinions would've been awesome lol but I do love seeing stuff like this especially with someone so legendary that's been in the game for so long. This is genuine, good content, good car. I love these types of videos Larry, never stop doing what you do. So many cars that you've done videos on, have either been long forgotten, or are something so unique and amazing. No one (at least not at this level) brings things like this to us for our enjoyment. Thank you Larry seriously you're more appreciated than you know
FAAAAARKING cool! As a fellow R33 GTR owner, I appreciate this build, definitely not my taste haha but cool man!
@@tyrellwashington747 Neither do you
I absolutely adore Jun GT Jun auto to this day jgtc Pics I think there super surge intake manifold from the sr20 is the most copied in history from plazmaman to hypertune......
Esa belleza estaba por Paraguay 🤩🇵🇾
It would be cool to build the exact same car but with modern turbos and fuel/engine management for a side by side shootout to see how much technology has come. Leave this one as is.
i want a poster of this car so bad, i’m currently recreating this car in GT7 i’m missing a lot of the decals
And panasport g7 wheels hope they come in future update along with ssr, rs watanabe, speedline etc
There was a GT500 JGTC Supra for sale on Japan Yahoo Auction. They should try to cop that. Not sure if it there anymore
0:45 Wait, WHAT IS THAT JIMNY DOING OVER THERE???
Way rarer to see than the R33 if you ask me.
33 POWWWAAAAAAA BABY 💯💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥 IKUMASHOOOO
I thought I was the only one to use the phrase “Micky Mouse” something together. I’m a fan of old innovations to how we use technology today to fine tune cars. And I learned a great fact, Paint IS heavy!
That's big money 💰 ✌🏾👍🏾💪🏾
R33 is my favorite.
This is amazing !!
That was in video option In the 90s
Reminding us all why they’re called Godzilla 👌👌
That crazy I remember seeing this in a magazine back in the day..... a little too much for my taste..
Wish I could just work around u guys
🤯💯👍 love this car
That big beat into was from the future ya
Flakes paint job is so 95!
The color from the flake alone reflecting off the pavement.. Oy!!
JDM LEGEND!!!!!!
Im so curious what made that metallic sound at idle and went away once it got warmed up (?) Such a wild machine!
Love it
period correct
The 33 is my favorite GTR.
Nice
Almost sounds like a bridgeport rx7 from the back with camera
I wonder if the Veilside 32 is still around anywhere.
Errrrrr....... what's that new Jimny doing in the corner??? I am pretty sure that you can't plate that just yet LOL
スゲ〜!S-ROC本物だ!海外に行ってたのね。
