@dannytorres_xo I had a similar experience seeing the VHS cover for "Troll 2" in the video rental section of a local supermarket now I see it as an adult and now it looks stupid🤣

When rewatching Twitches. The fact that they are older (21) makes me appreciate it more. There is a unique struggle of being a young person and getting a job or figuring out a career which I wish was portrayed more in media.
Love this movie more because of that.
Yeah I liked that they were adults too! Although it’s kind of funny to have them turn 21 and not see alcohol anywhere at this party 😂
Fun Fact : the party scene when Camryn and her friend are talking. That’s actually the other twin who plays Alex (Tia Mowry). Tamera had a scheduling conflict before they accepted the role and this was the only way they could do the movie. If they switched roles for a scene 😆 cool right?!?!

I watched this movie as a kid with my grandma, who fell asleep midway thru the movie
and I’ll never forget when the credits rolled, she jolted awake and asked “DID THEY DEFEAT THE DARKNESS?” 😅

Fun fact: some of the scenes with Cam are actually played Tia as Tamera was in a regular tv series and had to go between filming for the show and this movie

17:00 Fun Fact! That's actually Tia acting as Tamera (Cami) Tamera was unavailable to shoot that scene so they got Tia to fill in! That's why they gave her an eye mask to help hide that it's not her.
Later, when they return to the party scene it IS Tamera as Cami and she doesn't wear an eye mask.
I recently just watched this for fun and wow. The fact that there are NO ONE else in that other dimension just makes it feel so strange to me. Like you can hear marching when they are supposed to be quiet when first coming there, but there are no other people at all. No Soldiers or Servants or anyone. Even in the second movie, while they finally added people, it still felt so empty and strange.

I just found out that this was based off of a 10 book series. The girls aren’t even reunited with their birth mother until the fourth book. Imagine if this had been a show. Makes sense that they didn’t if they were going to use Tia and Tamera as the leads. Since they be in their late 20s early 30s from the beginning to end of the possible series.
The song is called rush by ally and aj, I was listening to old school music last week when that same song played and immediately knew it was from twitches. I still listen to this day
This reminded me of practical magic when they were like “my blood, your blood, our blood” every time the sisters connected hands 😂
12:34 actually, Wizards of Waverly Place was premiered in october 12th, 2007, following the Twitches Too premier on Disney Channel! and also, the university were Camryn is going in the sequel is called Waverly University:)

It’s funny because “Rush” by Ally and AJ was featured in one of the Bratz games, and Tia actually *voiced* Sasha in some of the older movies/episodes/games.
Also, I believe the twins were 27 when they filmed this, and the mum’s actress is 4-7 years older then them: which explains why they look close in age ahah. I hope Twitches gets that third movie someday 😩
Yes, Kristen Wilson who played their mom was in fact only 9 years older than Tia and Tamera. She was 35/36 at the time of filming, while the twins were 26/27 (playing 20 going on 21).
It's not unusual for younger characters (teens, twenty-somethings) to be played by older actors: there are different on-set rules for teen actors vs adult actors, for one thing. Also older actors tend to have more experience- it can be difficult to play seventeen while you're still actively going through the process of being seventeen; it can be easier to play seventeen being able to draw on that past experience. But there are obviously drawbacks to that practice as well, such as teenagers in films and TV appearing much more physically mature than real life, leading to some incorrect assumptions about what that age is "supposed" to be like or look like. But that's a whole other can of worms.
Then on the flip-side, it's not unusual for "older" adult roles- especially female ones- to be cast with younger actresses. For a mom who should be at least 40 or more, to be played by a 35 year old actress- the idea of eternal youthfulness in women is a whole other set of issues.
But Kristen Wilson is indeed very beautiful, and a warm and talented actress. She played the magic mom very well (given the D-com dialogue).
A random thing I always liked about this movie (other than Alex’s moon necklace) is that they met in a clothing store like on Sister Sister!

Idk I always teared up a bit with the scene of them holding hands and gathering all of their feelings of love for people in their lives to defeat the darkness. At the end, when they declare their love for one another, ugh. Just peak sibling bonding. I wish we had more shows of siblings showing true love and care for e/o. Teasing and bullying shouldn't be the only relationship trope for brothers and sisters.

this movie is a classic and a great choice to end spoopy month.
I always had fun with this movie and also the sequel. I mean yeah the CGI super cheap, the acting kinda corny but it's a DCOM so one would be a fool to expect high budget 😂. I think for me the enjoyment comes mainly from nostalgia, my love for witch themed movies and I grew up a big fan of the Mowry twins from Sister Sister to Twitches to their reality show from a decade ago and I also enjoy Tia's UA-cam channel. Also yes the song playing was Aly & AJ's song Rush. Love them! Another iconic sister duo! Happy Halloween Sophia!

I watched this movie last year in October and when Alex mentioned that the party that they could crash was in Waverly, I thought the same thing! I thought, "Ohhhh, so THAT'S where they got the idea for 'Wizards of WAVERLY Place!" Plus, the twin who says that is named Alex, and as you know, Selena Gomez's character was also named Alex. Coincidence? I think not!
Maybe their mom, Queen Miranda used magic to keep herself looking young..?

I’d never watched this movie because I read all the books ages ago. It’s so different that I don’t even know how to compare the too (maybe just shouldn’t). It’s definitely a DCOM though. I was always a Zenon & Thirteenth Year fan.

Also I read the description and no Alex is the superior twin. Cam is so fun but Alex is too relatable. However in twitches 2 I think I liked cam better.
I give Alex a pass because her mom died 3 months prior and grief is a tricky emotion to deal with, but she was just a little too negative for me LOL especially during her argument with Lucinda
