I love that they gave Eric more agency as a character by having him also collect artifacts from his voyages, similar to Ariel. However, I wish that they'd kept the scene of him ramming the ship into Ursula, as opposed to having Ariel do it herself.
Imo it has more impact, because she wouldn't have known how to do that unless she was curious and resourceful. In my version she would have Aquaman'd a whale over with Sebastian's help who would have pushed while Eric steered so everyone would have a piece Also Ursula would return to normal size and King Daddy would turn her into an urchin "there, now your outside matches your inside" "see ya Prickles" as Seb punts her away
I agree, the change doesn’t make sense, they just did it so she could be the one to like “slay the dragon”. But it made more sense for Eric to do it, since he would know how, and Ursula was distracted by Ariel. Plus him doing that made Triton see humans aren’t so bad
@@growingupwithdisneyI think it was to have Ariel solve her own problems. Yes he helped her but in the end it was HER deciding to make HER life better. I liked it lol you have an interesting perspective though so thank you!
09:48 Rob Marshall stated in an interview that Ariel here is 18. In comparison to the 1989 version they aged them up here yet retaining that 3 year gap like on the original. Also they released a prequel book (name: Against the Tide) on Ariel, aligned to this movie, and just to make it clear. . . ARIEL IS CURIOUS & IN LOVE WITH THE SURFACE WORLD SINCE SHE WAS YOUNG, NOT ERIC. He just happens to be there when she got really pissed off with her Dad and luckily this human also faces the same struggle as hers, royalty, duty etc. And that's why when Ursula said "Go back home to daddy and never leave again!" that further pushed her to agree on their deal.
Fun fact: The woman in the marketplace that gives Ariel the "dinglehopper" is Jodie Benson, the original voice for Ariel in the animated classic. Such a nice "passing of the torch" if you ask me.
@rickking228 Ariel is one of those movies were the setting is ambiguous so they just made them white by default(as opposed to Mulan who an actually racial background)
She was good, but there's countless known and unknown actors who could have done as good or better. Some of her acting was very average, and line delivery off at times. Although the film is badly directed and generally has some writing issues so I suppose she can be given the benefit of the doubt for some of it.
It really drives me nuts when people criticize Eric for not recognizing Ariel right away. Man definitely had a concussion and only saw her dark, hazy outline with the full sun directly behind her head, for a total of 2 seconds. How you expect him to know what she looked like?
But in the animated version Eric was definitely having a deja vu moment when he saw Ariel as a human, which this version lacks. I don't see why people can't criticize the movie for missing out on that detail in the animated version.
I grew up in Greece and we'd watch Disney movies with greek voice overs when I was younger. As you can imagine the songs are sung by greek singers and are not translated word to word for rhyming purposes. As kids we memorized the songs in Greek and I couldn't fathom that these weren't the "official" soundtracks, it took years before I listened to the songs in English. First time I watched the original little mermaid and realized after she meets Eric she sings "part of YOUR world" instead of "that world" I literally cried my eyes out 😭
I love Eric’s discovery room and how he has things from the sea that he doesn’t know what it is or how it’s use. Just like Ariel’s cavern has a lot of things from above and she doesn’t know how to use it either.
i like how they gave more power to the 'siren voice' It's implied that one reason Eric survived is because Ariel sang when she first saved him. Ursula says 'no siren voice, because that wouldn't be fair' Venessa's song confused Eric through Ariel's siren voice. And, it makes the movie a little bit darker, but i do like to think the level of infatuation Eric felt towards finding the mysterious woman who saved him is partially because of the magic of the siren voice. It's not just that Ariel's voice is beautiful, it's literally enchanting
though i feel like the 'siren voice' concept in the remake is kind of weird. they specifically state she used the siren voice on eric the first time she save him which gives a few eyebrows if the whole romance which admittedly in the remake does have a bit more closer intimacy is actually legit and not some possession thing, don't think that is what the movie is trying to say but it is a bit sloppy in using said element which i feel like it's was included to give ariel some magical power like rapunzel (which i feel has better pay-off in that)
Ariel killing Ursula at the end was actually in the original storyboard for the animated film! They changed the fight scene in the end so Eric did the final blow. So I thought it was a great call back and backed up how this Ariel takes things into her own hands.
Eric taught Ariel how to steer a carriage. The latter was steering his ship and that's how the former knew how to do it! Also, the dance scene and the chemistry between both the prince (Jonah Hauer-King) and Ariel (Halle Bailey) is amazing! By the way Flounder acting like a fountain in "Kiss the Girl" is so precious!
I think they added that part to Ursula's spell so that their romance feels more like natural and not forced. It's more impactful when Ariel isn't trying to actively rush to get him to kiss her.
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the movie. Halle was so cute in it, I really liked Melissa McCarthy as Ursula and Eric was pretty charming. There were stuff I didn't like about it though so I thought I'd list my pros and cons list. I'm probably not going to remember everything but the stuff I mention are stuff that really stood out to me. Pros:Halle's singing and character performance in general, Melissa's badass performance as Ursula including Poor Unfortunate Souls (even though I was disappointed at the removal of "don't underestimate the importance of BODY LANGUAGE!), Eric was cute and charming, I was personally really blown away by the final battle scene, the visuals despite the CGI not being the best, Ariel and Eric's chemistry, both Part of Your World numbers and Flounder was pretty cute. Cons:The casting for King Triton. Javier honestly was way too wooden. He showed pretty much no emotion,I personally was disappointed by the Under the Sea number mainly because I wanted there to be a full on band like in the animated movie, Scuttle...now I personally like Scuttle in the cartoon but in the live action, I found Scuttle significantly more annoying. That song that Scuttle did when announcing Eric's plan to propose to Ariel was honestly really cringey and unnecessary. I was also disappointed that they removed the Triton's Daughters number as well as like I mentioned the "importance of BODY LANGUAGE" line in Poor Unfortunate Souls. I also wish they gave Ariel more of a wardrobe like I wanted to see her in that pink dinner dress and the shimmering dress when she and Eric reunite at the end. Overall, it was a fun movie that I will gladly rewatch. It wasn't perfect like it could definitely have been better but it was still a fun time. Also I know my cons list seems pretty big compared to my pros list but a lot of the pros do kinda overpower the cons if that makes sense.
I'm SO GLAD that removed that line. I had rewatched the original before the remake was announced and it made me uncomfortable, especially that line, it's so gross. People want that line for the motion Ursula does, not the line itself. Physical attraction being so focused in some older Disney is better left in the past; think Snow White and the first time the prince sees her or Sleeping Beauty and it's first kiss (made so much better in Maleficent). That point is when people's cons lose their meaning; it isn't okay anymore and never should been.
@@rebelblackstone6066 at the end of the day though ursula is the main villain of the film, she is one of the bottom of the barrel for good life lessons in life and all of it was said in the OG was to gaslight and pressure ariel that her loss of voice would seem so little (but in the end her voice clearly mattered) showing the audience blatant red flags and it makes ursula to do this because of her motives later in the film remake ursula strangely feels devoid of this motivation initially despite the later events of the movie like just allowing the possibility for ariel to leave her home. I do disagree on snow white honestly most of classic Disney barely feels like love stories, snow white's death is like losing a loved one who positively impacted your life and somehow the devs for kh bbs actually understood the intention with dwarves talking how she impacted them
Yesss compared to other live action remakes, this one actually had some emotion behind it. Also Disney wasn’t afraid to have some actual romance 💘 (Snow White live action 👀)
I was actually shocked when i heard Aquafina as scuttle, in the original scuttle is a male so I’m surprise they gave scuttle a women voice actor. The scuttlebut song with her and Sebastian was the one song that i think was unnecessary but i enjoyed Aquafina’s performance as scuttle in general. I feel the cgi was focused mainly on Ursula which i think another reason why people enjoyed Melissa’s as her. She gave her performance and she did it so well.
I don't have a problem with Ariel defeating Ursula in theory but the cute thing in the original is that they saved each other. Ariel saves Eric from drowning at the start of the film then Eric saves Ariel by trowing the harpoon Then Ariel saves Eric again by making Ursula miss her blast with the trident And then Eric saves Ariel at the end by defeating Ursula. They saved each other because they are equals. And Eric being the one to defeat Ursula makes Triton's change of heart about humans make more sense.
I agree with you! It shows their partnership. On the other hand, when talking to Triton, Ariel can rightly say that it was HER hand that killed Ursula. Eric is completely innocent of spilling ANY mer-folk blood, even an evil one. Taken all for all, it's a pretty minor argument, but it's there.
But the reason why people are upset that Eric didn’t save Ariel is because it was another reason for the dad to like Eric more and know that a human like Eric wanted to protect his daughter, a mermaid. It would change his views about humans a little bit. Also yes, the movie should’ve gave Ariel more outfits, like come on, the prince couldn’t give her more outfits and the dad couldn’t give her a new dress in the end?
I felt like the underwater sheen the mermaids have on their skin is almost like they have tiny clear scales over those parts of their bodies. Which is kind of an interesting way to think of mermaids, having scales all over but with some fishy parts and some more human parts. I absolutely loved the addition of the "first time" song, it's one of my favorites. I liked the sentiments of Prince Eric's song, but I feel like the way it was composed made it stand away from the way the other songs sounded in the movie. I also really liked the addition of Prince Eric being a collector too, because it gave them something to bond over. I like this version of Grimsby better too. I didn't get to watch this movie in theaters because the underwater scenes make me uncomfortable, I don't know if it's sort of uncanny valley or a little bit of motion sickness, but I think it's because of the way they animated the hair to move.
Halle's singing gives me chills *every* time I re-listen to it, whether on my own or in reactions. Hearing her hit those high notes of "Part of Your World" in theaters, I almost got emotional. I've also really grown attached to "Wild Uncharted Waters," since my first listen, mostly for how much I appreciate, between this and "Evermore," that the Disney Princes are getting the chance to be just as poetic and emotional about their love lives as the Princesses are. 😊 I also didn't notice this initially until I watched an Eric/Ariel edit, but the emphasis on *hands* in this movie, and the way it all comes full circle is👌. First: Ariel reaching out of the grotto, her hand empty and her face pained. It's then followed by the shot of her reflections touching as she (epically) swims up the spotlight to break the surface. After rescuing him, she touches Eric's face as she sings to him, marking their first loving contact. When Triton destroys the Eric statue, she cradles one of his broken hands within her own. And in the end, after everything, it is *Eric* who reaches out to *her* during the battle with Ursula, the camera framing their hands as they tightly clasp, solidifying them on the same side at long last. 🥺🤝
I’m obsessed with this version of Ariel! Just so magical. I also love the cinematography… there are certain shots of Halle where color wise she looks exactly like animated ariel. That recognizable color scheme is SO nostalgic.
@@clairelin0216 They're all fools. Disney has them under their spell. They thought they could brainwash people by dangling a black Ariel in front of their faces so that hopefully they wouldn't notice any of this movie's flaws. And to hold it against them if they did. "You can't complain about the bad acting, the terrible songs, the horrific animals or ANYTHING in this movie because LOOK WE CAST A BLACK WOMAN TO PLAY ARIEL BECAUSE WE CARE ABOUT DIVERSITY! Isn't that enough for you guys? You're just racist and ungrateful." And unfortunately that's exactly what happened. You can't say one bad word about this movie or you're called a racist, even if you criticisms are reasonable and correct.
One more thing! The costume and hair department completely ruined Halle when she needed all the help she could get to shut the haters up. One, they could’ve made her hair redder. It was basically orange brownish. Two, I’m disappointed they didn’t go all out with the outfits. One of the reasons I loved the Aladdin remake was for giving Princess Jasmine not one, but at least 9 new different outfits to wear compared to the one blue outfit we all know and love. Nobody had an issue with that change in the movie. It was welcomed, as long as Jasmine wore the blue outfit during A Whole New World, there wouldn’t be no major backlash for all these changes. All of her outfits were so colorful and vibrant and fit perfectly with every scene in the movie. Cinderella, Belle, and Jasmine all got a new wedding dress to wear towards the end of the movie that wasn’t in the animated ones and they all looked so beautiful. Halle deserved better! They should’ve just made the dress more pink. Also they should’ve included a wedding scene of them getting married and the final shot be them kissing with fireworks in the background. I swear that a different director would’ve made this movie better 😭 Guy Ritchie understood what made Aladdin a beloved movie. There’s a reason it made a billion and got positive reviews from the fans, critics not so much cause you can’t replicate the magic from animated to live action. I am hopeful for the Hercules remake, since Disney hired him to direct that movie.
Yes her dresses could've been better and I wish they’d gone with a more vivid, candy apple red too. But her tail was beautiful and I loved her locs among other things, will be rewatching✨💫
@@universedonut159 frrrr! Some of the excuses I was hearing that a dark shade of red wouldn’t look good underwater. BS! I’ve seen how red hair can look underwater with Amber Heard as Mera in Aquaman. It didn’t have to be as dark but a realistic natural looking red hair would have looked good on her.
@@universedonut159 yea they’re hair color was bold and beautiful. Too bad they were barely in it. For someone reason I thought we would see more mermaids. They all randomly showed up at the end of the movie for a short scene. Such a waste of the beautiful cgi tails.
@@reannagordon Yeah I wanted to see more of her sisters and other mer, especially Tamika- the one with the gorgeous underwater Afro and Simone Ashley's Indira
In Little Mermaid musical Eric had a song called 'Her Voice', which I thought was pretty romantic. 'Wild Uncharted Waters' is ok too. I guess they had to change it to suit more the tone of the movie but it would have been cool to hear this actor sing 'Her voice'.
I actually quite like the musical! Tbh I thought they would include some songs from it, but I guess they went a different route. “Her Voice” is a banger though 🥲
I was surprised to see the cameo of Jodi Benson. I originally thought Lawrence Fishburn would've made a really badass King Triton. Some stylized super bright red braids mixed in with her hair also would have been really cool way to brighten her hair while blending with her style. No matter what, they truly couldn't have found anyone more ethereal to be Ariel!
Apart from the distracting CGI and Javier Bardem forgetting how to act, this is actually not a terrible remake as far as remakes go! Ariel and Eric's chemistry is 💥
9:16 As much as I liked this movie...I couldn't get over the way she like, slid sideways on the rock and how her hands just moved without grabbing to hold on, makes me cackle every time
17:12 Oh boy where do I start with this. Rob Marshall did this so that Ariel and Eric's relationship goes more natural and not planned. She will slowly like him for who he is and not because SHE NEEDS TO. There's an article with Insider about the little things they added to the film.
When I watched this movie for the first time, the movie theater's volume was so LOW, everyone came out kinda pissed, I had to rewatch it the next day, after my work shift, in my uniform, ALONE, with no snacks, no drinks, because I was so unsatisfied 💀
I genuinely liked this one. I don't believe it deserved the level of hate or backlash it received. Although Melissa McCarthy didn't go as hard as the OG Ursula and Prince Eric singing...YEESH! It was fun, it was colorful and well adapted imho.
Dood skuttle was my favorite in the little mermaid, especially that line "before this humans stared at each other all day, it got very boring" by he was talking about a bulbous snarkflap the tobacco pipe Ariel was asking about and he said they would play it for fun
I was ready to write this one off after “Pinocchio” was such a travesty of a remake. But Halle Bailey turned out to be a really, really charming Ariel and her chemistry with Jonah Hauer-King (Eric) was really sweet!
23:14 EXCUSE ME! LITTLE CUTE MOMENT!? Goooorl i was at the edge of my freaking seat watching this scene. And no matter how many times I watched it never fails to make me kick and scream.
This movie definitely beat the live action movie curse! I knew Halle was gonna do great but she was amazing. I love her so much. Thank you for this kind reaction
@@nightwish1453 Cinderealla remake is the worst one tbh, they literally turned Cinderella to a damsel in distress who did nothing but waited for a man to save her life, lol, and all the songs are gone.
@@nightwish1453 Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mulan, The Little Mermaid are all better than Cinderella, they gave us strong female role models instead of a damsel in distress who did nothing but waited for a man to save her ;)
@@nightwish1453 You say Disney gave Cinderella creative freedom? WRONG! The film went through a long creative process and debate behind the scenes, its early versions were quite daring, but then it was scrapped by Disney and forced into the outdated and boring damsel in distress plot, with a one-dimensional main character. However, it was still a relative success, which made Disney want to continue applying this boring formula for Beauty and the Beast and Bill Condon himself fought to make Beauty and the Beast the way he wanted (a faithful adaptation of the 1991 original animated film).
@@nightwish1453 Oh my god, relax, I'm not going to read all that, you're going a little overboard with kids movies. Mulan, Belle, Ariel, Jasmine are all better role models than that damsel in Distress in Cinderella 2015 a.k.a the worst live-action remake from Disney. Period.
If someone would have said I was going to come out of this movie thinking Melissa McCarthy was the second vocal stand out AFTER Halle as Ariel prior to me watching this, I wouldn't have believed them. And yet, she SLAYED the house DOWN! Good for her, I was so so pleasantly surprised.
You’re on point about everything!! Literally the only thing I disagree with is where you said Cinderella 2015 was the best live action reboot (my loyalties are with Brandy and Whitney!).
The 1997 Cinderella is based off the Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s musical! The 2015 Cinderella is based off the animated film. Otherwise, I would agree with you too lol
@@SophiaPhannn Oh I know, I’m just forever miffed that Disney kind of buried the ‘97 Cinderella when the Lily James one came out. I do have to admit that the costumes in the 2015 movie are stunning…possibly the best in any live action fairy tale, ever
I like the live-action better than the cartoon version because Ariel sees Eric as a good soul not just a hunk with shiny teeth makes her having a more caring kind personality and she defeats ursula Instead of Eric she's no damsel in distress that's what i like about Ariel more.
Of course it looks different from the animated version. This is a live action movie aimed at adults, not kids. So the crab is gonna look like a crab. The fish is gonna look like a fish. But they still talk. And Ariel's hair is still red, it's just more natural instead of the vibrant tone from the animation. Furthermore, Scuttle is portrayed as a female northern gannet diving bird (not a male seagull) because they are able to breathe underwater for a short period of time. Ursula's look and behaviour in the animated film was inspired by an American drag queen called Divine. To prepare for her role as Ursula, Melissa McCarthy actually consulted with the drag queen community. One fun little detail is when Ursula is creating the potion to become Vanessa and the main ingredient is a bottle shaped like a human stomach. This is a play on the phrase "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach". Many people miss the fact that Ursula and Triton are siblings in this version. Triton had banished Ursula from his kingdom and disowned her for practicing black magic, which is what motivates her actions. It was cut from the animation but was included in the 2007 Broadway musical. Ariel and her sisters have the same mum but they represent the seven seas which is why each of them are a different race. Regarding the opening quote: Throughout the film Ariel cannot produce tears, even when she's sad and/or crying, UNTIL she becomes a human. Scuttle's "Has Ariel killed the prince yet?" is most likely referencing the original fairy tale, in which the nameless mermaid is destined to turn into sea foam and die after the prince marries another woman. The mermaid's sisters tell her that the only way she can escape this fate is if she kills the prince with an enchanted dagger. However, the mermaid can't go through with it and instead accepts her death. Ariel 'signed' the contract by giving Ursula a scale from her mermaid tail, which actually covers up a plot hole from the animation where she literally signs it with a quill pen. Since she could clearly read and write English, why didn't she just explain herself by writing it down? There's a big chance Eric wouldn't have believed her but it's worth a try right?I Ariel is given 3 days to kiss Eric and make him fall in love with her so she can remain human permanently. Ursula cheats 3 times to keep Ariel from being able to do just that. First, she secretly puts a memory spell on Ariel so she won't remember she needs Eric's kiss to stay human, and every time she is reminded she forgets immediately or falls asleep (that wasn't in the animation). Second, she sends her pet eels to prevent Ariel and Eric from kissing at the end of Kiss the Girl. Finally, she transforms herself into a human with Ariel's voice to trick Eric into marrying her. They changed the dingelhopper scene to include Jodi Benson, the original voice of Ariel in the animation. She is the lady who gives Ariel the dinglehopper in the market. It's a symbolism of her passing the torch to Halle. Regarding the colours in the sea, someone said it's supposed to look all dark and gloomy from Ariel's perspective because that's how she sees it, which honestly makes sense. I loved the way Eric points out the star constellations to Ariel (which as a sailor he knows well) and starts guessing her name. It was such a beautiful improvement from the animated version where Sebastian just whispered her name to Eric. It added so much depth and charm to the scene. I like that Eric's character arch is more than just being the prince Ariel falls in love with. He has a backstory and a family. He, like Ariel, has a parent who believes they know what is best for their child. Eric being adopted is supposed to highlight the fact that he feels like he doesn't belong. Much like Ariel, he feels there is so much more to explore and discover, only the other way around. They share a bond over their love for collecting treasures. I really like how they fleshed out their romance more and actually showed they had a connection, instead of just 'love at first sight' and physical attraction. It also helped a lot that Halle and Jonah had an insane amount of chemistry. They also made it a lot clearer in this version that Ariel didn't want to become a human just for Eric. She was already interested and curious of life on land BEFORE she met him. Her motivations were rooted in her not fitting in and wanting to explore. She would have gone up one way or another, she just happened to have met Eric along the way. I think that’s why they added the bit about her not remembering to kiss Eric. They didn’t want the whole premise of her giving up her voice to be about chasing a guy, rather, about her chasing her dreams. Triton destroying her belongings was always the catalyst for her going to Ursula, not Eric in itself. They still kept the romance, it didn't take anything away from it. Some people have a problem with Ariel killing Ursula instead of Eric as if it takes anything away from his character. He literally saved Ariel's life when Ursula was about to kill her by throwing the harpoon. He also saved Max. Ariel may have given him a little nudge but he was almost there anyways. And even so, it still speaks to Eric's character. Just like he didn't save Ariel in exhange for her saving him. He saved her because he loved her, and more importantly because he's a decent person. Ursula trying to kill Eric made so much more sense because she didn't care about Eric, it was about hurting Ariel. I wasn't sure about Javier Bardem's portrayal of King Triton at first, but the more I think about it the more I like it. In the animation he clearly had some anger issues, and while that is understandable, he doesn't have to be all screaming and intimidating to have an impact. He looks and sounds more disappointed and scared here rather than angry, which is not only a lot more respectable but also a lot more believable. He feels more like a worried father than just some big scary dude with an anger management problem. As for the acting as a whole, Halle and Melissa clearly stood out, but Jonah, Daveed, Jacob, Awkwafina and even Javier did a great job as well. Also, Jessica Alexander as Vanessa absolutely stole the 5 minutes she was on screen. As for the music, I think Halle absolutely nailed Part Of Your World. She has such an innocent and naive quality to her voice yet powerful at the same time. The power in that high note in the reprise is incredible. I love Melissa's version of Poor Unfortunate Souls. There is so much sass and character in her voice. The fact that Melissa had little to no singing experience and didn't even know she could sing is INSANE. Under The Sea translates surprisingly well to live action. Daveed Diggs adds his own flavour to it and Halle's little adlibs add so much to the song. Kiss The Girl is just magical, musically and visually. I love Wild Uncharted Waters and how it has her siren song behind it. Jonah has an amazing voice and you can hear he has a theatre backround. Also, this is random but I love how you can hear his strong English accent in every single word. For The First Time is great and allows Halle to be more playful yet vulnerable. I was appalled when I first heard Scuttlebutt, but it has grown on me and now I actually kinda like it. And while some people didn't like the ending scene with Triton, Ariel's sisters and all the other merpeople, I loved it. Yeah we didn't really see Ariel interacting with any of them besides her family, but neither did we in the animation and I still felt emotional seeing them at the end. It was kind of showing how their two worlds were forever united with their marriage. There are only really two things I have a problem with in the whole movie: The lack of Flounder and lack of Ariel's wardrobe. I didn't have any problem with the way Flounder looked, I just felt like he was absolutely useless in the movie. He barely had any lines and wasn't even on screen that much. I needed more of him. And, obviously, they could've dressed Halle in a potato bag and she still would've looked gorgeous. But Ariel's wardrobe on land felt lackluster. She wore the same blue dress the entire time! Even the dress at the end during the wedding was the same one, only in pink. What about the blue dress with the bow? Or the sparkling purple dress? The wedding dress? Why not bring them to life and just modernise them a bit? I don't feel that their reunion at the end was underwhelming like some people do. If anything, I like how simple it was and that they didn't speak. They communicated enough with their faces. At the end of the day, this is a movie about a mermaid turning into a human and fish that can talk. Not everything has to make sense. The thing is, there are some people who will never be satisfied because it will never be as good as the animated version. You can still enjoy and appreciate this movie for what it is.
I don't know wtf your talking about but disney doesn't do that, It's a kids movie, and even tho it shouldn't have to be said, it was called that as well multiple times by the cast and marketing @@Heida77
I noticed during the firework scene where ariel is on the boat listening to Eric, she specifically notices him steer the boat away from the rocks which I’m guessing was how she knew to turn the wheel. Would’ve been cool if it was more clear tho.
@@ballerinafromtheblockImo I thought it was pretty obvious tho. When we'd learned that Ariel would kill Ursula instead of Eric before the movie came out, as soon as I saw the scene you're talking about I knew that that was how Ariel would get the idea to spin the wheel later as Eric did in the animated version to kill her. I feel like they made it kinda clear with how they had a close up, intense shot on Ariel's eyes/face then went straight to her seeing Eric do the big tug on the wheel, the camera zooming in & everything on him as he evaded something, showing where she learned how to do it for later in the movie. Just another example of both Ariel & Eric teaching each other things directly & indirectly throughout the film. Just my thoughts tho
@@EternityxForever I did notice that shot, but it basically looked like the original when cartoon Ariel was watching, so I thought it didn’t mean much, but I guess you guys are right. I still say having Ariel do it ultimately is forced. Shouldn’t Ursula have been paying attention to her? Eric was able to sneakily do it in the original cuz Ursula wasn’t focused on him
@@growingupwithdisney Well, I feel like since Ursula didn't/couldn't see where Ariel went in the dark whirlpooling waters, Eric served as a distraction the same way cartoon Ariel did before. Because from what we saw, Ursula was unaware of her presence after she & Eric got split up. But from my perspective, I like that Ariel solves the problems she created and cleans up her own mess. Like fighting earlier to get her voice back instead of her animal friends doing it for her & defeating Ursula (who killed her father & tried to kill her) using her cleverness & quickness on her feet that we witnessed in the beginning with the shark/mirror problem solving as well as something she learned from Eric (they both teach each other things throughout the film). Ursula is specifically Ariel's enemy (in the book it explains she was the reason her mother was killed) she killed her father, manipulated & tricked her from the start, has her father's trident and will take over the ocean if not the world with its power, and that's all of Ariel's doing...Eric just decided to get involved bc he loved Ariel and wanted to support/protect her. But she didn't have time to explain who Ursula was or what she did, like he literally doesn't know her at all. So, I appreciate Ariel being responsible for the problems and hurt she took part in, even if unwittingly. Plus, in the way the scene unfolds in this version it makes sense that Ariel and not Eric would maneuver better in the water to make herself useful in a battle versus Eric. No matter how great of a swimmer he is, she will always be quicker, more efficient, agile & also won't drown in a water/ocean fight sequence or scenario. She's literally in her element (no pun intended). If it was a land fight & Ariel was a mermaid I'd expect Eric to be of better use in a fight there, equally.
I was also looking forward to the sparkly dress too! I liked her blue dress but that pink and white dress they gave her at the end was such an eyesore in my opinion. When I saw all the beautiful outfits Halle was wearing when the movie came out and then saw non of that in the movie I was disappointed. Halle’s met gala look was gorgeous! If they had a similar outfit when her father gave her legs that would have been amazing. When they didn’t include that scene i thought maybe they would show her wedding dress? (It would have been too soon for that I know) Since we only saw them recreate her mermaid form and the blue dress. Other than that I liked the movie and got two new songs that I still listen to, wild uncharted waters and part of your world reprise 2.
Something about Ariel in the original animated, and which they emphasized even more in the live action, and which somehow many people still don't seem to understand, is that she was in love with the human world far before she ever met prince Eric. So many people trivialize her as some love-sick teenager giving up her life for some dude she just met. But that is not the point of her at all! I like what they did in this film, to show how Eric is just as enamored with the sea- before meeting Ariel- as Ariel is with the surface world- before meeting Eric. They were already so taken with each other's worlds, before meeting each other. That is what drew them together- a shared enthusiasm. It makes their attraction more believable, and also makes her rebellion against her father deeper than just some crush. It's Ursula that makes the spell all about some kiss and getting a man; that's her insinuation, not Ariel's wish. There are things I liked and disliked about this live-action film, but overall, I found it a worthy version, an enjoyable film. Halle was tremendous.
Thank you! My gripe was also not including the sparkle dress! Also kinda missed the pink one like you stated and of course her hair could’ve been more firey red. Thank you so much!
10:29 the problem is she was overly showing love for the sea and randomly swims away at the end. In the animated she tries to swim away several times; plus the fish sang in animated and it would’ve been cool if there was ensemble for under the sea
Sophia: "I'm not going to sing along so we can appreciate Halle's voice." Two minutes later: Sophia is singing along. Nice try, but the Little Mermaid songbook is irresistible!
I think, I read they added that she makes her forget the kiss so she isn't pressuring Eric into kissing her. That's not the vibe I picked up from the movie but fine.
this version is a little odd because I don't think halle's ariel claims to love eric really. correct me if im wrong, but the scene where triton destroys ariel's little treasures is much more dramatic and emotional for the audience is because she's like crying, screaming 'daddy, i love him!' and she sobs with her whole body when it's over. it's still childish, cause she literally just met him and barely, but in this version, she is more so defending his goodness.. human goodness, because they've given triton a reason to despise them. i don't remember her proclaiming her love. they make a point to emphasize her curiosity with humanness and less of an obsession with eric. that's probably why they added in the point of her forgetting 'true love's kiss' .. it would derail that bit of extra character they wanted to give her by forcing her to be more proactive and make romantic love her main objective. Also ig they wanted to give eric some extra character and a whole song but i feel kind of meh about him. love the vid as usual, im so happy to watch whenever you post. see you next time 👋🏿😁👋🏿
Ohhhh I can totally see where you’re coming from-especially with the scene of triton destroying the statue. I guess that’s what makes the small moments that Ariel and Eric have together more special because they’re slowly building up to that love.
I love how Ariel just blurted out that she loves Eric to Triton in the animated version, noting in the animated version she's still a young adult by the definition of the time period she's living in, which make the declaration stays in character for her, seeing all she had done for the things she love up until that point, I don't think reasoning with Triton is really in character for Ariel. That to me isn't really adding any layers to Ariel as a character to be honest.
The funny thing is, Ariel saying daddy I love him, when he’s literally never talked to her and never overheard him. It was all just lust, this story organically shows their blossoming love, in this version Eric really pursues her and even sacrificed his life for her at the end, letting her able to kill Ursula. Everytime Ariel wanted something Eric gave it to her. This version is levels above the animation. As a kid I’d love the animation more probably but as a teenager and adult I’d love the live action more and I’m glad we have both
@@sashav.3189 But then again, she's only 16, that's a young adult in the early 19th century, what she said is fitting for her age. And romantic love can happen for young kids, in certain time periods and certain countries, people are being brought up in ways that gave them little to no choice than to grow up at age 10 and being able to take care of others younger than them in their households, we don't always have to think about young love as lust, that's just a generalization, I don't know why y'all people see young love and immediately jumped into conclusion that it's lust but that's not the case for a lot of young love shown in animation and not what was shown in the 1989 animation, in the 1989 animation, while Ariel did said that she loved Eric, had you ever considered that she was expected to mature at her age and how Triton had no problem with her being in love when she's 16? Contexts are important in terms of understanding the story, and in the case of Ariel's story, you don't get that extra 2 years to mature because you're considered as an adult by 16 while you can still tend to be impulsive at age 16 because that's the nature of development, but that has nothing to do with her knowledge of love, she can actually be in love at age 16 or even younger and it doesn't matter because everyone can fall in love when they're young, that doesn't mean the young love is all about lust.
I also wish we had gotten the daughters of triton number. We could have skipped the scuttlebutt. I love Lin (In the Heights is incredible) but this wasn’t it. I also forgot that the sparkly dress wasn’t a thing. Also why not? Awesome costume moment and They would sell so many dolls. Missed opportunity for Disney.
I’m pretty sure they pressured him to add a rap in last minute, he had to write and tell daveed the lyrics over the phone. I hate it makes it look like his own hubris but producers were adamant
@@robwilliamson5082 I truly believe the things people hate most about Hollywood (remakes, unoriginality, one actor cast cast in every movie) are due to studio decisions. They ruin more things than they get right.
In the animated movie, Ariel was acting lovey dovey, so it made sense that her sisters would get to that conclusion. however, they didn’t really show that here which is why it was odd that they would just assume that
@SophiaPhannn I agree. Like how they added the fork scene but dropped the added effect it she had on Eric, when he "smiled for the first time in a while". Except they gave that to Jodi, when I'm sure they could've fit both into that scene.
Firstly, the color of your hair is amazing. Also, did you hear about Halle Bailey in the musical/ Film adaptation of The Color Purple? It's one of my favorite musicals, and I plan to go see it. I also agree that they should have kept her hair a more vibrant red because I feel like it would have made her more exotic, which would make sense considering that she's a mythical creature.
Ariel eating the flower reminded me of this girl I had a crush on in high school, I gave her a rose from the school's garden and she ate the petals, and it became a thing like we'd go to pick her a new rose to eat lol I wonder if she was like a mermaid pretending to be a human
Actually the dresses in this were fugly. No one can change my mind, they (they being Disney) needs to fire whoever did the costumes for this movie. There's no reason they could'n't have put Halle in that gorgeous pink dress Ariel originally wore, same withe the cute blue one. Also, the wedding dress?!? She would've looked cute in that. We were robbed of pretty princess dresses.
The only thing that raised my eyebrow with the "diverse" casting was Ariel's sisters. I get that Triton is a king, but it seems that he really does makes the rounds, lol! :)
I also didn’t like the actor who played Triton. He didn’t have enough personality the way the animated one did 😅 but this live action was definitely better than some others (but I probably won’t rewatch anytime soon) (Also I love Evermore and it was my favorite track on the soundtrack and more memorable than Eric’s) But I still love your videos ❤😂
The only notes i really care to mention are that they should have casted a drag queen as Ursula. Delta Work would have slayed for example. And Scuttle was well casted, because a seagull is supposed to annoy you, so Aqua earned her paycheck. I thought she was incredible in Shang Chi, and was that perfect friend who says and does some wild stuff but you know she has your back.
@@SophiaPhannn I'm basic so the fact that they gave me a less problematic Jackie Chan to enjoy is all I cared about, Aqua making me lol a couple times was the cherry You should watch it again while the strike is ending, maybe with a friend to mock it, it was a surprising B+ for me
I was also going to say Shang Chi was the only tolerable Awkwafina role lol. Definitely an odd Marvel movie, where the villain story was better than the hero's. She is definitely good in Extremely small doses lmao! @@SophiaPhannn
I think the highlights of this live action for me is Halle Baileys singing like my gosh does she have a voice ❤️❤️❤️ it’s just so phenomenal especially when Sang Part Of Your World 😊 and Melissa Mccarthy was amazing as Ursula brilliant choice if you ask me and I loved the Jodi benson cameo and didn’t mind the Under the sea sequence either😁 The rest of the movie was ok but I will always love the animated version more ❤️❤️❤️ thanks for this reaction Sophia 😉😉
I know a lot of people are complaining about the underwater kingdom. However, the sister mermaids have a larger part in this. So, we all like what we like, but there were many good things!
I think they added the Ursal, making Ariel forget about the kiss part because, in a way its not that hard for a pretty girl to get a handsome man to kiss her so it would have been easy for Ariel to get the kiss if thay makes sense 😊
10:13 This was actually one of my favourite changes. The live action changed things to show that Ariel doesn't hate living under the sea but rather wants to see what's above. There are subtle small changes to her story that I think impact the story in a greater way. For starters, she doesn't come off as miserable and someone who hates where she is. Her singing in Under The Sea shows that she understands the beauty around her and that she does appreciate life there. But it's still not enough. I also like the fact that her interest in Eric isn't quite love yet. She doesn't claim to love him in the grotto when her father confronts her like the cartoon. I think she's more interested in him and drawn to him more so than, "Oh I love this stranger." Halle perfectly captured the essence of Ariel and the live action showed her naivete.
2:52 Foreshadowing Ariel blowing through the shell horn. And Ariel is 18 in this film. So that makes Eric only three years older than her. Maybe the reason she came to the conclusion that he was kind and compassionate was because she saw him risk his life to save his lovable dog on a burning ship. 14:34 I know right! I always thought, "Why would destroying her treasures make her want to listen to you MORE? That's just gonna make her despise you even more! Now she REALLY won't respect you, cause you destroyed all her things!" And then he acts all surprised that Ariel made a deal with an evil seawitch. And not only that, Triton didn't tell his other daughters that he destroyed Ariel's treasures. 15:27 That's why when I watched "Pirates of the Carribbean" and the guy whom Elizabeth is betrothed to tells her, "I've been watching you since you were a child," I was horrified and my response was, "Ew! Don't tell her that! That's just creepy!" Sounds like a creeper to me.
Arielle joining in in Under the Sea is just a bad choice storytelling wise. When a character joins in like that it transports an agreement or understanding of that character for what the other chatacter is saying in their song. In this instance however they should make it clear that she does not agree with Sebastian (but also os not opposing him, hence why she still enjoys the whole thing. It's still her home). It made it very confusing why she would just disappear at the end of the song. there is just this ambivalence between what is shown and what is actually going on in Arielle.
I can understand this argument. I made a comment about her disappearing at the end, but I ended up cutting it out of the video: I thought they should’ve made her disappear halfway through the song instead of at the end, so that it would’ve made more sense that she didn’t care to listen to Sebastian lol
It’s just because people doesn’t like change and some of them are really racist. They think black mermaid should not be there but the little kids are you so excited they can see them self you know I don’t know I love change. I love this movie and yeah.
14:32 agreed this scene was more impactful in the animated movie, and I think it’s because tritons anger wasn’t properly displayed here, they went for a more subtle anger and a more overt and explicit content and worry for Ariel in regards to tritons reaction to what he had learned, if that makes sense. Which just took all the emotion from the scene
Yes to wet shirt Eric. But, why is Eric on a boat at the end of his song when the previous conversation with the queen said he was forbidden from doing that? It juuuust happened lol
I totally agree the 2015 Cinderella Movie was the best action movie so far! I'd love to see you react to it if you haven't done it on the channel yet 💫 Also, really enjoyed this video 🌟
Great movie review as always. I agree with what you said - the movie was great. I just didn't like some parts of it, but, that doesnt take away from how good the movie is.
27:42 Regardless of how evil she is, THAT'S HIS SISTER!! And if he really did want to kill her he would've done it already since she's the one who set up his wife's death, instead he exiled her.
What I think should’ve happened near the end : Triton transforms Ariel into a human ,Ariel comes out of the water with a sparkling baby blue dress, (don’t cross fade that scene) Eric picks Ariel up and twirls her around like the original because I thought it was a little weird that she went to Max first instead of Eric, and Eric was sitting there for a long time playing fetch with Max, I could tell. Anyways, Eric sees Ariel, calls out her name ,Ariel does the same and then he twirls her around, scoops her up or something and finally they kiss, I just feel that would’ve made it more climactic towards the end.
Since your a Disney fan, what do think Jasmines gold earrings and necklace ( the animated version) of course, don't you think they're absolutely gorgeous
11:45 GOOOOOORL I WANT A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR THIS INJUSTICE of appreciation for this Man. I AM TELLING U, I WAS DROOLING OVER THIS MAN on this scene.. and you have four eyer don't you see what i see!? THIS MAN IS GORGEOUS!..
I liked this one, the visuals especially the ocean shots are gorgeous and up there with Cinderella. But the story changes make the movie feel a bit stretched . Or maybe its just the editing a scenes go for too long. Maybe I just miss short runtimes.
No I kind of had the same thought because when I first saw that the runtime was 2 hr+, I was like what MORE did they add LOOOOL. Bring back 1.5 hour long movies 😩
The scene where Eric learns Ariel's name while they're stargazing was so intimately sweet, that I felt like I was intruding on a private moment.

In my version she would have Aquaman'd a whale over with Sebastian's help who would have pushed while Eric steered so everyone would have a piece
Also Ursula would return to normal size and King Daddy would turn her into an urchin "there, now your outside matches your inside" "see ya Prickles" as Seb punts her away
GIRL I SEE YOU EVERYWHERE

I wish she had a cheeky line or two cuz i woulda never known otherwise. Every film can't be Barbie though

First time I watched the original little mermaid and realized after she meets Eric she sings "part of YOUR world" instead of "that world" I literally cried my eyes out 😭
OMG 😭😭😭 THAT’S SO CUTE
I love Eric’s discovery room and how he has things from the sea that he doesn’t know what it is or how it’s use. Just like Ariel’s cavern has a lot of things from above and she doesn’t know how to use it either.

i like how they gave more power to the 'siren voice'
It's implied that one reason Eric survived is because Ariel sang when she first saved him.
Ursula says 'no siren voice, because that wouldn't be fair'
Venessa's song confused Eric through Ariel's siren voice.
Exactly
Also I know my cons list seems pretty big compared to my pros list but a lot of the pros do kinda overpower the cons if that makes sense.
agree

@rickking228 I'm afraid the nightmare is not over, because they're now targeting Bambi.
Correct.
NO slander on this movie 🧜🏽♀️🫵🏾
TOTALLY AGREE
Slander is spoken. In print it's libel....
It's not slander if it's the truth.
I also didn't notice this initially until I watched an Eric/Ariel edit, but the emphasis on *hands* in this movie, and the way it all comes full circle is👌. 🥺🤝
Have you seen her vevo performance? Thats when i knew the movie was gonna be goodt
I’m obsessed with this version of Ariel! Just so magical. I also love the cinematography… there are certain shots of Halle where color wise she looks exactly like animated ariel. That recognizable color scheme is SO nostalgic.

I swear that a different director would’ve made this movie better 😭
Guy Ritchie understood what made Aladdin a beloved movie. There’s a reason it made a billion and got positive reviews from the fans, critics not so much cause you can’t replicate the magic from animated to live action. I am hopeful for the Hercules remake, since Disney hired him to direct that movie.

“Her Voice” is a banger though 🥲
the live action movies never include songs from the musical because they need their original songs to be considered for the oscars lol
Right. Hear the actor "sing".
Ariel and Eric's chemistry is 💥
9:16 As much as I liked this movie...I couldn't get over the way she like, slid sideways on the rock and how her hands just moved without grabbing to hold on, makes me cackle every time
omg I thought I was the only one. She's not even underwater where they could pretend she floated up. She just kinda slides up 🤣
Solidarity!!!! It was such a 'hold up' moment lmao!@@almond_jellii
It was fun, it was colorful and well adapted imho.
agree
Dood skuttle was my favorite in the little mermaid, especially that line "before this humans stared at each other all day, it got very boring" by he was talking about a bulbous snarkflap the tobacco pipe Ariel was asking about and he said they would play it for fun
And I love awkwafina which I think is an interesting choice to pick her as scuttle bc idk how she sounds as a bird
Period.
@@nightwish1453 blablabla.... Cinderella live-action is the worst. That's all.
God i want her to watch Freaky Friday so bad its my fav 2000s Disney movie. Does anyone even remember it?
I like the live-action better than the cartoon version because Ariel sees Eric as a good soul not just a hunk with shiny teeth makes her having a more caring kind personality and she defeats ursula
Instead of Eric she's no damsel in distress that's what i like about Ariel more.
There's a big chance Eric wouldn't have believed her but it's worth a try right?I
Ariel is given 3 days to kiss Eric and make him fall in love with her so she can remain human permanently.
I agree with all that but this movie IS for kids it's not aimed at adults. Adults can enjoy ofc but this is a kids moviie

I'm so happy you enjoyed this movie 😭 after all of the backlash, I was starting to lose hope.
@rickking228 Poppy...Branch? Guy Diamond, are you there??
I think for that final scene to make sense, we should’ve seen Eric teach Ariel how to steer a ship (could’ve been a nice moment earlier too)
Oooh yeah that would’ve tied the ending together better
I was extemely exceltical about this new little mermaid and I LOVED this live action
Excuse me Evermore is such a banger it did not deserve that slander. But I have to forgive you, I love your videos too much 🤣❤️
Something about Ariel in the original animated, and which they emphasized even more in the live action, and which somehow many people still don't seem to understand, is that she was in love with the human world far before she ever met prince Eric.
Yeah
Sophia: "I'm not going to sing along so we can appreciate Halle's voice."
Two minutes later: Sophia is singing along.
Nice try, but the Little Mermaid songbook is irresistible!
OKAY but it wasn’t a full out singalong, so I succeeded (kind of) 😄
Thank you for sharing such a fun reaction. I absolutely love The Little Mermaid and the remake as well💞
I think, I read they added that she makes her forget the kiss so she isn't pressuring Eric into kissing her. That's not the vibe I picked up from the movie but fine.
Ohhhh I mean I guess LOL it still has to be a kiss of true love, so it’s gonna end up mutual either way 😂
Every time Sophia starts a sentence by saying "wouldn't it be funny if...?" I just know she's about to follow it with the most traumatizing event ever
this version is a little odd because I don't think halle's ariel claims to love eric really. correct me if im wrong, but the scene where triton destroys ariel's little treasures is much more dramatic and emotional for the audience is because she's like crying, screaming 'daddy, i love him!' and she sobs with her whole body when it's over. it's still childish, cause she literally just met him and barely, but in this version, she is more so defending his goodness.. human goodness, because they've given triton a reason to despise them. i don't remember her proclaiming her love. they make a point to emphasize her curiosity with humanness and less of an obsession with eric. that's probably why they added in the point of her forgetting 'true love's kiss' .. it would derail that bit of extra character they wanted to give her by forcing her to be more proactive and make romantic love her main objective.
@@jasminewilliams1673 oh really? I didn’t know that. Shame it didn’t work out for the producers. I haven’t heard a single person say they enjoyed it.
@@robwilliamson5082 I truly believe the things people hate most about Hollywood (remakes, unoriginality, one actor cast cast in every movie) are due to studio decisions. They ruin more things than they get right.
Honestly, the live action Little Mermaid is the best reboot we've gotten (though I did enjoy the Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast reboot)
They jumped to the conclusion of her seeing a "merman" because that's what they immediately assumed in the animated version.
Halle absolutely DEVOURED this role! She was the true embodiment of a real life Disney princess in this movie.🥹
Let's remake the Old Shaft Movie.
Make it a white dude this time!
Sounds great, right!?
Answer carefully! Don't be a hypocrite!
29:45 This one I TOTALLY agree. . . They kinda try to make it up on us by making Halle wear these stunning dresses on her premieres.
I also didn’t like the actor who played Triton. He didn’t have enough personality the way the animated one did 😅 but this live action was definitely better than some others (but I probably won’t rewatch anytime soon)
(Also I love Evermore and it was my favorite track on the soundtrack and more memorable than Eric’s) But I still love your videos ❤😂
Oh a drag queen definitely would’ve brought the energy for Ursula!
I’m pretty lukewarm about Shang Chi, but I suppose she was fine in it LOL
@@SophiaPhannn I'm basic so the fact that they gave me a less problematic Jackie Chan to enjoy is all I cared about, Aqua making me lol a couple times was the cherry
You should watch it again while the strike is ending, maybe with a friend to mock it, it was a surprising B+ for me
I was also going to say Shang Chi was the only tolerable Awkwafina role lol.
I also like that Atiel is the one to kill Orsula. And I'm glad you liked the mobie. I watched it 3 times already 😅
Honestly, Prince Eric song kinda sound like that song the princes sing in Into The Woods, when they talk about cinderella and rapunzel
LMFAO he did have the same kind of passion 😂
YEEEEEESS!! I'm so glad you enjoyed this movie and decided to react to it!
27:23 didn’t they just go about how u can’t break a deal meaning no matter how many times he zaps her he won’t succeed
I think they added the Ursal, making Ariel forget about the kiss part because, in a way its not that hard for a pretty girl to get a handsome man to kiss her so it would have been easy for Ariel to get the kiss if thay makes sense 😊
Bah, in the animated movie, Ursula kind of say it'll be easiy for Ariel to seducte the prince because she's pretty
My favorite Disney live action remake ❤
11:01 plus Whoopi Goldberg voiced Ursula in a short scene of Descendants 2
24:02 isn’t this whole movie for kids they just made it realistic so kids feel like it’s real
I agree her hair could've been a brighter red! It would stand out so beautifully in the blues of the ocean
I think she's more interested in him and drawn to him more so than, "Oh I love this stranger."
Halle perfectly captured the essence of Ariel and the live action showed her naivete.
Little mermaid is definitely in my good live action adaptions. Cinderella and Jungle Book are my top 2
How old is Éric in the animated movie ?
@@a.g.demada5263 He is 18 in the animated film, while Ariel was 16.
@@broadwaybrook2319 ah ok, thank you (even if I already know how old is Ariel)
Eric showing her the maps was my favorite scene!
Yes to wet shirt Eric. But, why is Eric on a boat at the end of his song when the previous conversation with the queen said he was forbidden from doing that? It juuuust happened lol
WAIT you’re so right HAHAHA
"Or maybe it would increase tourism idk LMFAO" 28:03 made me laugh
You've heard of "passing the torch to somebody"? Well, in this film, Jodi Benson passed the Dinglehopper on to Halle-Ariel.
I saw this movie multiple time in theaters and loved it every time
I totally agree the 2015 Cinderella Movie was the best action movie so far! I'd love to see you react to it if you haven't done it on the channel yet 💫 Also, really enjoyed this video 🌟
Great movie review as always. I agree with what you said - the movie was great. I just didn't like some parts of it, but, that doesnt take away from how good the movie is.
I wish the concert had been in there too, but they changed all the sister's names so it would have been tricky to make it work.
Loved this movie definitely one of the better live action adaptations
I’m also so glad I saw this in 4DX there was no water but it was absolutely an experience
I literally felt the same about the sparkly dress
Ariel 18 years old She young adult Eric 21 yeras old 6:42
11:45 GOOOOOORL I WANT A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR THIS INJUSTICE of appreciation for this Man.
The actor for king Triton definitely just showed up for a pay check...
Yay another video we love you sophia ❤❤❤
